Took my 7 month old HP laptop in to Geek Squad at Best Buy after I did a reset my speakers stopped working. Left it for diagnostics thinking that the drivers didn’t load upon reset. Paid $180 for them to tell me there was something stuck in my computer headphone jack and if I wanted it sent out for repairs it would cost 89.95 plus repair charges from HP. That could run upwards of $500 since it was not a computer malfunction but something I must have caused. What a crock of manure. First off I have never used the headphone jack and don’t even own a set of headphones. So not sure how anything could get stuck in the jack. I was also told something could have broken loose and damaged the speakers from inside or that something could have gotten inside the jack when I transported it in my new laptop bag. What are the odds of that. Probably 1 in a million for something to roll into that tiny hole. I questioned the fact that a Geek Squad tech didn’t cause the problem when doing diagnostics. On the bright side I got a refund of my diagnostic fee but will never use Geek Squad again nor will I purchase anymore computers from Best Buy. My best advice is to take your computer repairs elsewhere.....no wonder they only have 3 1/2 stars in their reviews. I didn’t even feel they deserved 1 star.UPDATE - Contacted HP Customer Support. They did their diagnostics for free and determined something is wrong with my operating system. Since its under warranty they sent me the shipping kit and prepaid label to ship computer to them. Also free is the return shipping. Just shows what a rip off Geek Squad is trying to charge their customers $89.95 for them to ship for repair.

Poor service. Arrived for a scheduled Apple-related appointment and they recommended I go somewhere else to get faster service. When I said Id rather get it fixed here (they would need to mail the item to Apple) they kept trying not to do the work and then called me a liar about how it was broken. Odd behavior.

Horrible geek squad, waited the entire afternoon and nobody showed up. I will never purchase anything from Best Buy again..very disappointed

My TV broke at the beginning of April. I began calling and was told due to COVID no service could be done under the Geek Squad Warranty. Finally 4 weeks later I get through and Im told that they could send out a third party (the third party had been working all along). Then they decide they cannot fix it and would replace it and come set it back up. Great. Another week to get replacement, now SEVEN WEEKS. Delivery comes and drops off box and says good bye. NEVER had anyone schedule install. Spend THREE HOURS ON HOLD trying to get someone. I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH BEST BUY AGAIN, the service is HORRENDOUS and they do not care at all.
