Awful. One night my fridge went out and emergency maintenance never came in. I went and told the office and they said I shouldve gone and bought ice from the gas station. After paying 950 a month I was expecting more from what I was paying. Added maintenance was awful at their jobs from one excuse to another.

I’ve only lived here about a month. The one star will represent how kind management has been about all the problems I’ve had but I would have been better off somewhere else.On day 1 I realized my dryer didn’t work. It was not plugged in, nor was the dryer vent attached.Since then it has been one problem after another. There was a very strong chemical smell which I asked if they could fix and they did so by using a machine that made my entire apartment smell like a ton of baby powder, which never went away. They then said they would have the carpet shampooed. When this was done the carpet ripped at the seams. Management immediately took action to replace the very old carpet that perhaps would not have fallen apart if they gave their residents quality apartments instead of trying to save a buck.Once the carpet company replaced the carpet all the new carpet fibers were left for me to clean. Which was a wonderful addition to the fact that just after moving in I had to move everything again to have the carpet replaced. The linoleum in the kitchen was completely torn up from the walls. Allowing tons of ants to enter my home. The dishwasher, also very old fills with bubbles and sounds like it is falling apart although management and maintenance insist nothing is wrong with it. Same with the stove, Magic Chef must be years old as it doesn’t even have a preheat option. Burns food before it actually cooks it and buzzes as it is being used. There’s no point in telling management about it because from their point of view as long as it works, there’s no problem. The windows are old and drafty making for a high electric bill. This was nothing I hoped and thought it was. Sadly.

We moved here from out of state and with the help of the Brickyard staff we were able to get into an apartment just in time at a great rate! The staff is always very helpful and nice. Great place to live.

I moved during a really rough time in my life. I was in a hurry to find a pet-friendly and safe place for me and my dog. Most places here in town have really low weight limits of they are pet-friendly. I am thankful Brickyard allows up to 60 pounds and are extremely pet-friendly!Office staff is super friendly and helpful! They were able to get me into an apartment quickly. My Apartment was clean with nice carpet and fresh paint. I love the amount of storage I have. It is actually spacious for a 1 bedroom and the perfect size for me and my pup.

My only compliment would be for maintenance. Roger is great! It goes downhill from there. I lived here for 3 years and what was a great home at first really turned into a headache.I had a move-out check prior to me leaving which was scheduled for a specific time. Nobody showed up for an hour. I called the office, the voicemail said they were busy. When I went to the office directly after my call, the staff was on the computer (not helping anyone) and acted like I was a complete interruption. After stating that I am allergic to animals and providing their requested doctor’s note when signing my lease, I was put into an apartment that had 3 cats prior. I couldn’t breathe and had to live there for a month since they didn’t have any units open (which can’t be true). After waiting, I was told that I would have multiple days to move since it was their mistake. I was then charged DOUBLE RENT for the days I had to move after they specifically told me this would not be the case. The security gates were broken once a week and took multiple days to fix. This was an advertised security measure on my tour which was a promise not kept. I would not have been as concerned about this if we did not receive emails that car break-ins were occurring. Brickyard said this was not their issue and they do not plan on getting security cameras or really doing anything about it.Finally, we paid our last full month of rent before moving out. Although our keys were due by noon, we were charged another full day of rent past the last month for a day we weren’t even there. After asking about this charge, Brickyard said they can DICTATE whatever prorated price they want even if the lease says otherwise.

I moved from Texas and Ive never had any complaints or problems with Brickyard. Super friendly staff and maintenance is always out as soon as a request is put in. Living here made moving states less hectic as Ive had smooth cruising!

I enjoy the amenities, however the rent is extremely high for the area. The car wash station is nice, but I wish it were open longer throughout the year. Security gates have recently been taken down as well with no correspondence to the residents. Overall the apartments are spacious and nice with a lot of storage, so its worth it.

I was recommended to check out Brickyard when I was in a bad situation and needed somewhere to move ASAP. They were very helpful and understanding and got me set up in less than a day. I have been very happy with my experience this last year. The place overall stays clean and feels safe. Any time Ive had a maintenance issue they reply promptly and always take care of it in a timely manner. For me, the location is fantastic for getting to work, but my favorite thing is having a full washer and dryer in my apartment. That is unbeatable.

I rented a two bedrooms apartment, and it was horrible (1/2017 to 8/2018). The quality they show in the model is different from the you rent. The windows leaks air which is bad for winter season. The central heat system is noisy and if you complain then they will tell you that this is what they have. From the first meeting month, they changed the dish washer and refrigerator. The patio was disgusting. We spend two days cleaning it. We paid around $900 which is a rip off for the quality they have. What is interesting that the electric bill never go below $100 a month, whether its winter or summer or in between. The office personal were nice except the one who I rented the apartment from in 1/2017, she was horrible and left the job in few weeks after I rented the apartment.

Pet friendly and spacious apartments. Office staff are easy to reach and can help with most issues or find outside resources who can if they can’t.

We stayed here for a year. Coming from Texas, looking at the apartments in this town really made me pretty sad.Brickyard is the only apartment we could say yes. The atmosphere is very clean, well maintained and staff is super friendly. There is a free car cleaning service in the summer. Most importantly the snow will be removed immediately from every corner of the apartment blocks. They make sure to pour salt all over the area before snowfall.Pets are allowed. They conduct some fun activities through their fb page to keep community lively. The apartment has patios which are hard to see in any other apartments in Bloomington. They have answering machine at the entrance for other people but dont worry someone will always break the gate! Lol..The gas heaters are plus point. Washer & Dryer is comparatively big. Only problem was kitchen ! It was very small for 1bhk. State form, Namaste Plaza are near by. The lake next to the apartment is good for summer walks. If you want to live in peaceful area then go for it. Its expensive but definitely worth it.

After reading the comments of others I would have to say that their poor experiences seem to be brought on by their own issues. I personally love Brickyard Apartments. They are spacious, the grounds are well kept and the staff is very knowledgeable! As with apartment living, common sense tells you that you will experience some noise pollution from neighbors. However, our experience has been minimal. Roger the maintenance guy is awesome! He does quick and thorough work and has been promt for the 2 small details we have asked to be repaired. Jessica, Alex and Abby are always ready to help any way they can and have gone above and beyond since the day we signed our lease. Thank you to the amazing staff at Brickyard for making our leasing experience perfect!!

Would give less stars if I could. They have terrible management here. I lived there for 2 years and knew others nearby that went through issues numerous times with them. The management gets what they want, and you cannot argue against them regardless of logic or whether their leases dont state certain aspects. They allowed exceptions to their rules only when it was in their favor. For instance: they believe that March is a better move in time for the next person, so they wont re-sign a six month lease that ends in December to be more convenient for students. I would imagine in a college town there being a higher probability of finding new people at the beginning of the year. Their maintenance was miserable unless they hired an outside company for the problem. The grounds were not well kept, and this made it a terrible environment (if any since there was little grass) for pets. The square footage on these apartments and the price gouge does not match up to what it should cost. They front as if they are premium apartments, but they are cheaply made with thin walls where you can hear all the neighbors dogs, footsteps, or yelling and vice-versa. The water heater was new, but they never fixed the thing properly to work. The showers for my whole two years were miserable. On the way out, they refused to apply the nonrefundable, pet deposit to the pet clean up they supposedly had to do after only having the dog in the apartment for 3 months. The dog died of old age and never had an accident in the apartment, and they charged $50 for pet urine clean up. What else, if not the pet deposit, should have paid for this? They just took it out of the regular deposit. You can find better places and actual houses for rent in Bloomington for much less. The feeling of having a yard beats the stupid parking lot front yard they have and hearing the car lot announcements every morning.

I have recently lived in the Brickyard Apartments and wanted to offer a full scale review of the property to make sure that future tenants have some points to consider. I rented the 2 bedroom apartment and a garage attached to the building.Summary: If you are looking for a true luxury apartment, look elsewhere.Pros:-Large and spacious bedrooms/bathrooms-Walk in closet, which is fantastic, overall the apartment has ample closet space-Covered garage attached to the building-Quiet property - I never heard my neighbors or had any type of noise complaints-Ample parkingCons:-Awful maintenance and management - had a window that took 6 months to replace into winter that fell if opened and had half inch gaps allowing air in, countless misunderstandings and they are not willing to work with you on issues. Upon leaving your lease, be prepared not to have you security deposit returned and most likely will have to pay for excessive costs to minimal damage with little communication on issues-Poor insulation - had to plastic wrap all the windows in the unit to help save on utilities, still spent upwards of 100 dollars a month on heating in the winter-Poor and aging materials - the apartment is not luxury by any means. You have old appliances, white formica countertops, and white cabinetry. Leaks can be found on the ceiling, etc.-Area and apartment complex is not pet friendly - the apartment complex has little to no grass area available for dogs and there is no path nearby without driving to walk your dog. Your walks are in a parking lot, with cars speeding through. They do claim to have a pet area, which is about 200 sqft of grass, located next to the dumpsters where raccoons can be found due to uncovered trash bins.-Very poor gym facility- the gym is not well aerated and the equipment is in poor condition.

I agree 100% with Mr. Todd in every way. If only there were less than a star to give.. Worst experience ever. Worst management staff Ive had the displeasure of working with. Not helpful at all, lived here for year and a half, never saw pest control (saw several brown recluse spiders on the premises. The doggy area is a 10x10 fenced in area littered with feces from what looks to be from every dog in the county, seriously looks like its never been cleaned up since it was built. Every trip to the office for a question or concern was greeted by a different temporary person (friends of office manager?) and they could never answer my question, but just play messenger (4/5 times wouldnt get a response from actual manager). Poor/missing information from lease... Unexpectedly Lost my job due to change in needs at work, tried to work something out, including giving 60+ days notice. Was told I cant vacate the lease without $2800up front (despite not being mentioned in the lease). Told them without a job, cant continue to afford the overpriced rent, asked about sub leasing or any other accommodations and was basically told to keep paying as if I lived there despite moving out of state to accept the only job offer id gotten in a month. Would rather force me to pay rent while jobless Until I run completely out of money and homeless instead of trying to fill the apartment with a new tenant. Im very disappointed with the experience I had here and discourage anyone with some sense from ever renting from such a careless inconsiderate management. I should have known from the beginning when I received a tour from one gentleman Adam who had me sold. Unfortunately, Adam took a job elsewhere and I signed the lease with a woman who I saw only that one time when I signed the lease... She never advised me who provided the utilites here and what utilities were provided. I called ameren who said service exists there already, so I think great its included 8 months go by and I get a notice and stack of bills from brickyard for a different electric company (corn belt) wanting 8 months worth of unpaid bills. Great start. All appliances are electric, however something must be gas because as luck would have it a gas bill shows up on my door months late expected to be paid in days. Why not let me know after the first bill you receive? Why wait until both are about to be disconnected? Especially when I was never properly informed. Do your homework everyone, just because something is advertised as luxury or the nicest in town does not mean theyre run like it! It blows my mind that management would rather I pay for an apartment, that after losing my job could no longer afford and indicated to them with proper notice and full intention of paying for those 60 days, instead of finding a new tenant or sub lessor in that time.. And instead demanded $2800 up front to terminate the lease which wouldve left me homeless and jobless. By the way... The security gate process is a joke, either the gate is left open all day because its broken or someone has driven through it so theres no real sense of security. Small children have no where to play so they kick a ball at the buildings/garages in the middle of the busy parking lot, they say non permitted parking will be towed but thats a joke (often found myself fighting for a spot close to my own home because of others visitors cars), and it was never communicated to me so Im not sure if I was supposed to be responsible for replacing the air filters or if that was up to brickyard (every place Ive ever lived took care of it) but my air filter in over a year and a half had never been replaced or a new one left with me. So a reiterate, I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMEND this place as you can find much nicer for $900/mo than a 700sq foot one bed room luxury apartment.

Worst kitchen ever; two knobs for hot and cold, standard (bathroom) faucet instead of kitchen faucet, white counters always look dirty, no microwave, archaic stove. Icemaker went apesh*t and filled freezer with cubes because shutoff didnt work (imagine opening your freezer and being knocked over by an avalanche). Plumbing generally a problem (temperamental toilets and icemaker). Poor water pressure means showers shriek and dont flow well. Caulk in both BRs was amaterishly applied then painted over. Ants. Good location and definitely a quiet complex but little else to recommend it especially for the price. Pipes under master sink leaked my first day, soaking my toiletries. Roof in second bedroom leaked first month and theres consequently a chronic musty smell. Office staff are *very* friendly and competent but this is otherwise the most pedestrian of apartment complexes.
