Love this place! The salon is always clean and everyone there is wonderful. Danny has that place running like a well oiled machine. Ann is AMAZING. Her attention to detail is unmatched and she is so kind. Highly recommend!

The salon is clean and management is so kind and accommodating. They are, however, extremely over priced to be simply average. Countless times I have tried giving this place a chance, yet I consistently walk out with a poor filing job and barely touched cuticles. With the quality I see, I could have done this myself and saved $45.

Canterbury Nails is my favorite place to get my nails done - I do gel manis. I do recommend making an appointment because they are always pretty busy. They always get you in and out quickly and the finished product is always great. For COVID safety, they are still asking customers to wear masks (a sign on the door says masks preferred) which I think is really great, and they have plexiglass shielding up on the tabletops to separate the tech and customer. I feel safe there.

Best place to get nails done in Birmingham! I almost never have to wait when I walk in even when they’re busy. Easy to make appointments, always clean, and great quality! I recommend seeing Vu! After moving to another city, I still make a point to get my nails done here every time I’m in town for work.

Great place! I was in town for the weekend and they were able to get me in in 15 mins. Got my dip nails done and they looked amazing after the janky dip job I had done elsewhere. Ask for Steven he’s FANTASTIC

Staff was very welcoming. Jason helped me pick out the best blue color for my pedi. The wake me when you done pedi was great. On accident he cut my cuticle on my big toe. He was very apologetic. I would go back heretic next time I am in town.

They dont do any artistic nails. Nail tech seemed annoyed that I wanted more than one color on my nails. It was $178 for 2 full sets w/ gel polish and a pedicure.

Even though I moved a little far from this salon, I prefer to drive here than go to other salons nearby. The wait is usually less than 15 mins regardless of how busy they are. Their nail polish selection is amazing. Their staff is fast and they do a great job.

Canterbury is by far my favorite place to get my nails done. Every time I visit, Danny and the staff always are so kind and helpful. The environment is very clean and my nails always look great!!

I’ve visited this nail salon twice. My first experience was pleasant, but my second experience was awful. During my second visit the nail technician asked if I was paying via cash or credit, to which I responded credit. She told me quite rudely to provide my card. After I provided the card she took it, placed it on her station face up (with my number and expiration date visible) and proceeds with my nails. It seemed as if my card was placed there as collateral. I’ve never experienced this before (I’m in my mid 30’s)so I looked around to see if other customers’ cards were stationed similarly and they were not. So, I asked her to explain why my card was placed in that manner. She practically brushed it off. Later she proceeded (I think she and her peers thought they were being discreet) to discuss this with other employees and perhaps the manager or owner. No one offers an explanation or apology but they laughed as if I wasn’t aware of what they were doing. I still tipped my nail technician because that’s what I would typically do and I’d never allow another’s ignorance to influence my behavior to such a degree. But, I will NEVER subject myself to this type of treatment. Hopefully customer service will improve for the sake of other customers. And, I noticed a response to a previous comment suggesting that the video was reviewed from that incident. I would love for you to publicly release video of my experience because it speaks for itself.

Canterbury Nails will always be my go-to! I’ve been coming here since high school. Truly a 5 star salon. My manicures and pedicures are always flawless. Everyone here is awesome! I could not recommend this place more!

Team is always able to fit me in, great service regardless of who does my mani/pedi and I walk away feeling 100% better when I walk out of the salon.

Everyone was extremely nice and the shop was very clean, but all I got was the cheapest pedicure with gel polish and then a normal manicure with gel polish and they charged me $96. Ive been getting acrylics for 3 years so Im used to $40 fill ins and $60 full sets but why would they charge that for a simple manicure on my natural nails. Its my fault for not asking the prices beforehand but I definitely felt extremely ripped off after paying.

As with most nail salons, your experience totally depends on WHO works on your nails. Most of the female employees at Canterbury are great and the men too**with the exception of one man who is rough (often painful) to put it mildly. If in doubt, wait for one of the women!! My last gel manicure lasted 3 weeks without a single chip in polish. 👍💅🏼

I come here all the time, I get acrylic full set gel manicures and its only been bad one time and I think the guy wasnt used to doing them. Even so it was still better than other places. Every other time my nails look amazing.

I have been coming to this salon for YEARS! Tony not only does a fabulous job with my nails, but he also has a sweet servants heart. He is always welcoming and excited to work! Danny, the salon manager, is easy to call and schedule with and always makes sure the salon is running on a good time schedule.

VERY friendly and professional! I do the gel nails every few weeks(and get pedicures when splurging!). Everyone I have worked with has done a great job! As for the gel nails (referring to another review)...if you ask for their help and instructions on maintaining your nails- including PROPER removal of the gel- your nails should be fine! I have peeled mine off several times (when they have said DO NOT DO THAT!!!) and I tore my nails to pieces. But, since I go to them to remove the gel the RIGHT way, my nails are beautiful!!They did my wedding party, too! We had beautiful fingers and toes on the big day!Highly recommend!OH- and walk-ins are welcomed! I have never had to wait more than a few minutes- There are a lot of folks working there to help you!Be sure to check out their promotions...you will get additional discounts!

Update:I called the next morning and the staff was so quick to accommodate me. I went back and was greeted with a smile and apologies. They did a fabulous job second time around.The atmosphere was wonderful. The nail techs and front desk were very friendly. I am from out of town and went with a large group. Everyone’s nails, including my 3 little girls nails looked great. They had female nail techs. I had a guy who was super nice but did an awful job on my nails! He did 5 coats on 2 nails that the fan messed up. He didn’t take the brush to the cuticle or the sides of all my nails on the second and third coats. The worst job I’ve ever had done on my nails.

Canterbury nails is awesome!! Andy the manager is great with customer service. I appreciate how he takes time throughout your service to come by and check on you addressing you by name etc... Wendy does my nails. She pays attention to detail and make sure my pedicure is the bomb. Honestly, my pedicures last longer now which I am grateful for. I love that she is unique and open to freestyle designs that she will do or have Tommy work on for me. I will come back again (as I always do) and I recommend you try this nail spa!

Soso manicure. More expensive than any location I have been too. I requested a manicure no tips gel or polish, was charged $20. Tech wore gloves including during the half hearted messageGlad to know you read the reviews. This was not my first visit but it will be my last. I noticed that no one else had on gloves so maybe its based on the client. Also I was left with cuticles and hang nails. On a previous visit I paid for an American manicure and the tips that should have been white were grayish -black The tech said that was the way it was supposed to look. Sir, what Im communicating is you have some things to work on. I dont write reviews often. Either way I will not be back. I can get a shoulder and neck message included at multiple salons.

I cant speak high enough of this salon, they are a well oiled machine. Not only are the efficient, but they are also just lovely to do business with. I am glad to spend my money there, I get what I want every time (Friendly, timely, cleanly service). They made my friend(& her Mother and Sister) feel very special the day before her wedding and I am very grateful for that. Thank you again!!

This was by far the worst nail salon experience I have ever had!!! I went in on Mothers Day expecting a relaxing time in a comfortable atmosphere. The guy walking around with a clip was extremely rude, when I tried getting his attention to let him know I was there. He raised his voice and said we know you are here! (I should have left then)but they were the only salon open a Sunday. Once I was seated I started to relax I didnt mind waiting ( I knew they would be a little busy). Then the technician working on the lady next to me finished and went to the back. I thought no problem someone else will come, meanwhile clipboard guy is still pacing back and forth. Then another woman is seated on the other side of me, a technician quickly comes out and diligently began working on her!!! I was furious and began to ask for a towel to wipe my feet off so I could just go home. clipboard guy comes over oh, Im sorry I told her to come to you. I knew it was a lie but decide to stay anyway. I am a very polite person and this treatment made me sweat in uncomfortably. The guy that worked on my feet (Steven I think) was nice and I dont know if I was already over the experience or what, but it sucked:/ (sorry Steven). Needless to say I will never go here again:( even if it is the last salon on earth. The atmosphere is somewhat relaxing if you have the patience to be ignored;/

This is my go-to nail salon. The salon is clean and the owners are always helpful and receptive if there is an issue. The inside has been recently renovated and is so nice! I love the long massages that come with a pedicure, which I feel sets Canterbury Nails apart from other salons.

I will not be returning. The atmosphere is nice, but my 11 year old niece could have done my nails better. I asked for sculptured nails, because I Dont like tips, all he did was slap some acrylic on my nails. Did not form or build a nail as I asked.You only get one time to mess my nails up.

Better than excellent!!! After a very busy and stressful week I realized at 6pm Saturday night my nails were awful and really wanted them done before a shower the next day. I thought surely it wouldnt be a possibility with it already being 6pm, but I gave Canterbury a call and Andy told me to come on in. WOW I was expecting something more like No, we are almost closed. Then when I got there I was greeted by Andy, and introduced to Tommy (who did a wonderful job)! Not to mention everyone was in a great mood and seemed to be happy to be at work. Excellent! Since this salon has changed ownership, it is wonderful. I got a spa pedicure and a shellac manicure with Wendy and it was quite possibly the best I have ever received. The salon was clean, they offered me water or wine. They were friendly and very professional. Ask for Wendy!! Shes fabulous. Since there are many bad reviews the salon was not crowded. Only two other customers. I was treated like a VIP.

I love Canterbury Nail Spa. Ive been going there for the past few months and love the spa- like experience. Everyone is so nice. I always get quick, professional service...a gel manicure on my lunch hour. Today I was treated to an awesome shoulder massage while my nails were drying. I highly recommend the Canterbury Nail experience!

I have gone to Canterbury nails for a while now and everytime I’ve been there, I’ve always had great service except today! Was t greeted, was just told to have a seat over there. When Henry got finished with my nails they looked absolutely terrible. I’ve been to a lot of nails places and I’ve never had my nails look this bad. They are ridged, some round, some square and uneven. I never do reviews but this trip deserved one.

I love the welcoming feeling when you walk into this place but the lady who did my nails was very rude to me. I spoke and tried to have a friendly conversation she act as if I wasnt talking to her. On top of that two of my nails needed repairing and she didnt fix it. When I went to go wash my hands the manager and the tech was sitting at my little station and she asked me to pay her before she even finish my nails. I felt some type of way by the manager sitting there with her as if I wasnt going to pay. Therefore, I told the lady thank u and she walked off and didnt look my way.

I have been going to Cantebury Nails for a long time, but this last time on 5/17/18, I was not thrilled with the gel manicure. The person doing my nails did not file them the way I wanted, the polish is up on my cuticles and crooked on my nails. They cut my nails way too short. Ive noticed the last two times they do not even use a lotion to put on your cuticles before they push them back and cut them, they just soak your fingers in water. I understand cost efficiency but you can tell they tell their workers to use very little supplies for the money we pay. The service is not what it used to be they rush people in and out of there, and do not take the time to give you a decent manicure. I think in the future I am going to find a different salon.

Nice, clean salon. Ive actually been going there for years, but no more after tonight. The nail techs have gotten so rude as of late, and I had one tonight named Tammy that treated me like dirt. It was truly awful, she was horribly rude with a nasty personality. There are so many choices for nail salons in this town that I will never go back.

Inconsistent service. Some technicians are pleasant and great at their job, others (like todays pedicure) are in a bad mood, do a poor job and are not worth the money. Getting a manicure/pedicure is a luxury and should be relaxing and comfortable. My shoes were on my feet before my toenails were painted. Seemed like the employee didnt want to be there or do her job. Very disappointing.

I came to Canterbury Nails on Hwy 280 on Thursday, October 25th, 2018. I brought my friend who was getting married that weekend to be pampered with a Mani/Pedi. She thoroughly enjoyed her experience. I, on the other hand, did not. The person I worked with was Hannah. She was a sweet lady, but she was very rough with my hands. She cut my cuticles 3 times which led my fingers to bleed (one of them was cut so badly it wouldnt stop bleeding). The way she trimmed my cuticles and my nails was very odd and left them very uneven (including my toe nails). The finish for both my hands and feet was very crooked and sloppy. It is now Monday and my entire manicure has started peeling off all at once on its own. I have maybe 3 nails with paint them left. This should not have happened. I paid $84 for this Mani/Pedi and it was not worth it. The leg and foot massage was great and I love the chairs we sit on for pedicures. That is about all I can say that was positive. I appreciate you taking care of my friend, but I will not be coming back. I really wish I could just have my money back.

I had the most amazing experience when I first came to Canterbury Nails, when I first called Andy was so personable and so very friendly, he made my appt and I was very pleased when I first stepped into the nail salon, very elegant friendly professional and family oriented environment. Andy assisted me right away with no wait time, the staff is very friendly. My nail tech whom I love so dearly for always providing me with top notch service (Kayla) she is marvelous, I am preparing to move to Pell City within a month and Canterbury Nails will always be my nail shop as long as Andy & Kayla stay there..I must admit The New Management and staff are absolutely amazing, but dont take my word for it come and experience it for yourself!

I love Canterbury Nails. Very friendly staff and good work. The only bad experience I have had there was due to a rude customer who interrupted my manicure .. the staff handled the situation in a very professional manner.

Not a great experience. I have given this salon so many tries. The last time I went they cut my cuticles back so far I was bleeding on several fingers. I did not go again for a year, but went back today with my niece since they are one of the few open on sundays. They are all incredibly rude. The man, who I presume was the owner, was extremely firm and rude to me when telling me they will not do ombré on my nails because “there is not a high enough demand for it”. I have no idea why that makes a difference.The pedicure lady was also very rude. Never said hello or even smiled at me. Barely massaged me or scrubbed my feet, for my $46 pedicure. Also made my big toe bleed really badly. She had to put the bleed stop medicine on it.My nieces skin and cuticles were nicked up several time during her manicure and lots of tough, dead skin left on both of our feet. $152 later... I won’t be back.
