My husband and I moved to Yarrowood Highlands about a month ago. After a very long apartment search, we found it. The staff here were so helpful with the tours, answering questions, and setting up the contracts. The apartments are very spacious and have a cosy feel to them. Its a quick 5 min drive to downtown Kirkland and the waterfront. The property is more secluded than most however, you can hear the highway on one side. Despite this, its a very quiet neighborhood with nice grounds. There is also a nice trail with an entrance on property. So far we have had no issues with water, heating, or electric. Everything has worked perfectly! We have felt so at home here at Yarrowood and highly recommend it to any looking for a new place!
This has been an amazing experience to find the right rented house for your family, and special thanks to Abby who has been extremely helpful in moving us to Yarrowood residence as hassle-free as possible owning to the current circumstances. 6 days in and falling in love with this neighborhood!
I contacted the office asking for 3 bed rooms apt, they showed me 2 bed rooms apt. below ground level. They stated that an applicant on was received for the 3 bed rooms. It was clear that they wanted to rent the 2 bed rooms. Up to date, the add for the same 4 bed rooms is there??
If you live here and order food delivery leave detailed instructions for the driver.
We had to book the apartment without looking at first since we were out of state. The staff was very helpful with any and all questions that we had.The neighborhood is very quiet and beautiful, theres a nice little place to walk around especially if you have pets or little kids. The maintenance staff has been very helpful with any problems that we had.
Awesome location!
Fantastic living over here! Great location and great prices.
The Yarrowood Highlands is a wonderful community and it is a pleasure to be a member. The management and maintenance teams are pleasant to work with and efficient. The grounds are well-maintained and laid out nicely, very enjoyable for walks. There is plenty of safe and secure parking. The units have a lot of charm and are spacious. Major bonus is the location, conveniently nestled between Bellevue, Kirkland and Redmond with a park and ride minutes away. Keep up the great work! Thank you!
This is very good place to Live. We raised our young kids in this apartment. This place convenient and safe to live.
Love living here. Nice neighborhood. Responsible respectful & accommodating staff. Immaculate beautiful grounds. Lived here before & should have never left. Best place I have ever lived!!!
Great place to live. Spacious apartments. They responded promptly to maintenance requests and get the issues taken care of.
My husband and I have lived in this apartment complex for almost two years and have enjoyed it quite a bit so far. The apartment has a lovely amount of space, the complex is well maintained, conveniently located, and both the office and maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful. The property manager, Vaiza, has been extremely helpful the entire time weve been here. Overall we would definitely recommend this apartment complex.
Very nice and clean, warm and with full of amenities. However my family stayed in Yarrowood just for 5 days but we enjoyed a lot. Very well maintained with huge comfortable guest parking.
Slava is absolutely wonderful. His work is done quick and the best. He has helped me out un more ways then one. I highly recommend him and I appreciate his service!😌😌😌
I have been living in Yarrowood Highlands from January this year, and my stay has been wonderful. Theres ample amount of space for my little daughter to play in our backyard. The community is well maintained and feels safe. I would definitely recommend this place.
Slava, The maintenance manager is wonderful he takes care of the problems in my apartment very quickly and professionally.Sara, The property manager is helpful and takes care of the residents.
Slava Popescu is helpful guy and has good experience and always smiling face.Sara is a perfect manager and our kids love her
I have been here for about 8 months. I think it is a high-quality apartment that offers the comfort and satisfaction with kind and prompt support of the office staffs in apartment management and maintenance. In addition, good schools such as Lakeview Elementary School are nearby and I have been satisfied with education.
My experience while living at the apartment was decent. Not much to complain about except that there was hardly ever anyone at the office. The problem for us came when we moved out. My roommates and I provided a forwarding address and we were expecting a bill in the coming months for lagged utilities and cleaning. Three months later we received bills from a collection agency with no explanation of charges. The thing is we never received a bill before being sent to collections, even though they had our address. How lazy do you have to be to automatically send former renters to collections? Its very upsetting that our credit is affected by no fault of our own. Disappointing to say the least. Even though the management company at the time may have been at fault, the complex is not fault free. I heard that they changed management companies so hopefully its better now.
Management is great. Maintenance crew are friendly. Playground for children and swimming pool are nice. Parking lot needs a lot more light although spacious.Security is good due to location but few minor theft on cars.Rent is too high for an old place. Parking for guests are tough to find in the evening. Wooden building and its stair cases makes annoying noise as sound travels.Basically it is better than some mismanaged apartments I have seen.
Technician Silyva Popescu was very helpful. He is professional on his job who was very polite..Thank you so much...
Slava is professional in every way!!!! Slava can fix anything!!! He’s respectful and his response time was like 12 hours. Next level service
Update: Finally my application was approved today. Thanks Vaiza for helping us through, by escalating the issue with corporate and working with on-site.Apartment is really nice, spacious and with updated kitchen. That is the main reason we waited so long for the apartment.Previous review:I submitted my apartment application at Yarrowood on 12/16/2018 (with some corrections 2 days later) and I haven’t got my application approved yet and now I am in situation where my current apartment lease ends on 01/05/2019 and new lease is not approved. Now I have to find a new apartment within a day or two. I did multiple follow up with property manager and on-site customer service for status but I got the same response of application is still pending with last estimated date of 12/24/2018. I asked property manager to escalate and she did but wasn’t of any help. I am just giving 1 star review because I feel property management should have escalated it earlier or should have had work around which they dont have. Would update review if I hear back from them in a day. This review is for new applicants to be aware of situation which they can also fall in.
I have lived here 3 years and wanted to talk about the support of the management. It has been exceptional. whenever we have had an issue, they are quick to respond and provide excellent solutions. The team from maintenance to management I trust. I had heard of there being security issues, but shortly after that, they installed new mailboxes that were more secure and I would see security patrolling the property at all hours of the night. The pricing here is very good for being in Bellevue, its located very conveniently near the south kirkland park and ride. The unit I have was renovated recently and is beautiful with nice amenities. It would be nice if they had some sort of on site gym, but its not the end of the world. It will be difficult for me to move away from here because its hard to beat the quality for the price.
Rent is way to high and only going up! The renewal offer I declined was a 10% increase, in 2 years my rent had gone up 20% from when I signed my original lease. The general availability of staff on the property is terrible, one of my biggest complaints is that the office is hard to reach, whether it be for a simple question or trying to pick up a package. Office is commonly closed early and opening late... It seems a lot of people dont renew their leases here, moving after 1 year. Property has gone through multiple mgmt changes, the best part as you will read in other comments on yelp/apartments were about Cassie and Craig who are no longer there
Amazing place to live here.
Vaiza is a wonderful manager and we always had positive experience staying here. Its a quiet and beautiful community.
We contacted Yarrowood Highlands by phone for book a tour for a vacant unit. When we arrived for our Saturday appointment, we found the office closed and no one present. We reached out again a few days later for a second tour, explaining that we had been stood up at the first. The management apologized profusely, booked a second tour with us for the following day (a Tuesday at 1pm) and when we arrived the office was closed yet again. I have left two voicemails without a response from their management.
Like others said, the office is often closed during business hours. Dont waste your time.
There are many reasons for my five star rating of Yarrowood Highlands Apartments. For one who commutes, the location to I405 and 520 is perfect. The Metro bus park and ride is a short walk down the hill from the complex, as is the Kirkland Corridor trail for walking, running or biking. The proximity to Bellevue and Kirkland shopping and restaurants is great. There are many parks, Metropolitan Market, QFC and the soon to be completed Park Place Plaza for shopping, condos and restaurants. Covered parking is available for an additional $50 p/month charge and there is ample open parking for residents and visitors. The community is very green with lots of trees and grass space, a nice pool area and dog friendly. Smoking is not allowed in the units or on the property. Property updates including new roofing, tree removal, new skylights and parking lot renewal have all been done in the last year. The main reason I give the five star rating is for the Maintenance staff. In particular, Slava, who is the Maintenance Supervisor, and absolutely provides the utmost in prompt, courteous service and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to repairs that may be needed. During my two years at Yarrowood, my maintenance requests, no matter how small, were addressed within the day. Slava maintains the entire property with one part time helper. He is truly a remarkable employee for Thrive Communities.I would give a much lower rating for other reasons. Though the website lists the units as updated, they are in reality very dated. The windows are of poor quality and provide little insulation especially in the winter. The light fixtures, flooring, and appliances are very dated. The entries to the buildings are dark, drafty and in dire need of painting. Although the units are large, the rent rate is very high given the lack of updating. My experience with the Property Manager has been marginal at best. Emails and phone messages often go unanswered or delayed for a frustrating length of time. The manager seems friendly when approached in the office but does not follow through. An example of this for me was having an apartment abutting a storage room area that on two occasions someone decided to move in their belongings in the middle of the night then move out of the storage from 11:00-2:30 a.m. a few months later. I called the Security people, gave them my unit # but they did not attempt to check the storage next to my unit. I contacted the Manager and was told that there are no specific hours for accessing storage and blew the incident off.As Thrive Communities, management and living comfort at Yarrowood as opposed to Villaggio (where I had previously lived) was surprisingly less positive. Because of my experience and the high rent rate given the quality of the apartment, I have moved to a much more affordable and truly beautifully updated apartment community that I know will be my home for quite some time.
While i havent lived at Yarrowood Highlands ive visited the property 4 times. The reason for my visit was twofold, to meet the MGMT and to possibly lease a place to call home. I was not only impressed by how clean and well kept the property was, but i was greeted by a friendly/knowledgeable property Mgr, Amanda Brown each visit. While I didnt find an available unit that fit my needs, I can say that Yarrowood is an attractive options for families or tenants with two and three bedroom requirements. Please take the time to view the property and meet Amanda if you are in need of a new spacious home minutes away from Bellevue.
They have nice apartments available but Ive lived here for a year now and have trouble with parking the management and everything in between! The apartments arent nice enough for the stress of living here!
I have lived here for over 2 years now only to watch things go downhill. Hopefully this will shed some light to the ownersRenewals are significant every year and not justified by the quality of living/service. The recent paint job this year was a disaster, the grounds were a total mess during process and the contracted company quite frankly had no regard for residents belongings.A word to management - if you are going to post office hours of 9-6 have staff present during those times, if you are going to put a lock on the pool and be unavailable to unlock it the next business day put a electronic reader on the gate and supply residents with a key fob. As a resident I should not have to call around to have someone drive over to unlock the pool so that my children can use it during normal business hours, I should be able to go to the front office to request this. For the price residents pay to live at Yarrowood one would think service would improve each year with rates, not degrade.Yarrowood is great if you want to live in a suburb close to downtown Bellevue. A bit expensive though as management is more of an inconvenience than a help.
Nice place, lots of green area. You hear a lot of neighbors noises. The recycling dump fills up a lot without being picked up.
