I was planning to move from Alabama to Baltimore and needed apartment options as soon as possible. I applied and was approved within 1-2 days. Ava called me, told me I was approved and that she will send my lease by the morning after she writes it up. Day 2, I still have not received my lease so I email her for an update. I got a call from Keisha stating Ava was ‘our’ and that she will send my lease in about 15 minutes because there were no notes about my lease and she has to write it up. She then sends an email with what was supposed to be a lease without any attachments lol. They both sounded really young, inexperienced, and very unaware. I definitely didn’t need this kind of inconsistency when moving halfway across the country. Do better ladies, I know you can do it!
Management has let the building fall into disrepair, and rents are astronomical for the mediocre apartments. Any time theres a leak with the climate control system, a large portion of the building has to lose water to repair it. These notices are all from 2020.
Horizon House has really gone downhill in the last several months. The building allows smoking, and it leaks into neighboring apartments, which is a health risk. The smoking policy in apartments is not mentioned in the lease. I have tried working with our management to have a safer and healthier building, but management refuses to care about the health and safety of its residents. The new property manager has been unkind and unhelpful. The corporate resident relations director has also been uninterested and unsympathetic to living in a home that smells terrible and causes permanent health damage. I would strongly recommend prospective residents avoid Horizon House as well as all Southern Management properties.
Where can I start? I Love living here - a resident for over 10 years and I plan to stay for at least another 10. The staff are fantastic, they make everything so easy, and its a true community. They take care of my cats when I am away, are helping me transfer to a larger apartment with ease, and are just the nicest people around. The residents are friendly but private - no nosy neighbors but people are available to help you if you need it. The building is safe and always spotless, plus the Prime Rib in the lobby and a convenience store and nail salon on site mean you dont have to leave the building in bad weather! :) The pool and fitness center save money and my sanity..... Many thanks to the entire team at Horizon House!
Really enjoyed living here. The staff is really what makes this place so great. Maintenance would come back in to work AFTER THEY ALREADY WENT HOME in order to fix a problem. Front desk workers made us feel welcome every time we went downstairs. We had a lot of natural light in our apartment, good appliances, and relatively up-to-date everything else. We had almost 1000 square feet for just over $1300. We couldnt hear any of our neighbors unless it was through a vent. Everyone we met here was nice. The free utilities was a huge plus.
Horizon House is a great place to live. If you are looking to live in a great and safe area - so Hirizon House would be an excellent choice! The Horizon Management is carrying and always provide an outstanding service for their tenants. I had to move out of state, but if I come to live to Baltimore again - I will detenetely come back to Horizon House. Summer time is so close - their roof top pool view is breathtaking🤩.
Lets see...they flooded my moms stuff when she stayed in the guest room and gave her a problem with giving her money back. 2/3 elevators have been down/in use for the past two weeks. I was promised a parking spot when I moved here from New York but that never happened and was force to park 15 minutes away which made me have to get rid of my car. I was promised I would be able to control the temperature of my apartment when I moved in...that never happened. I think you are all starting to get a picture here that this property is going down hill....
Security sucks
