They tinted my windows without cleaning the windows first.I haven’t gotten it fixed yet but I’m gonna follow up once I do.

Never could ever get an appointment or a call back from them. The manager explained that she was short staffed but, it seems they are not ever staffed to receive phone calls, make appointments, or call back. So...I went elsewhere.

I bought a groupon for this company because they were so much cheaper than my local area. So I am posting an honest review of my service so far. I will update it in the future.Tint Specialist ask for an appointment because it is a busy business. Read your groupon and follow the instructions (I read some prior bad reviews about this and decided to just use my judgement.) This car still had orginal manufacturers windows. (There is an additional charge if they have to remove old tint that is stated on your groupon. Again, read it.) They did a wonderful job on the tint. They offered upsells(every business offers upsells even McDonalds- just decline them politely if you dont want them) Its not a high pressure sale and the service lady was extremely nice and very knowledgeable; however, I did not want the extra for a 17 yr old car that might not make it the next 3 yrs. (But I hope - it lasts my kid through college.) She was very upfront on the time about 2 hours to 3 hrs, as they were fully booked. I did not have someone drop me off so there are 2 shopping plazas in walking distance to spend some time to include some coffee shops or uber to the Barton Skyline Mall for 8.65. The car took about 3 hours. The finished product is nice and I will be bringing another vehicle to them for ceramic tints in the future. Professional service all the way around, thank you.

They did a great job, but it took a little while. Seems like their desire to help everyone to a degree that they may be overbooking. Not a big deal though, like I said, they did a great job and were very nice.*As an update, the tint hasnt held up very well. This is the first time Ive had to iron bubbles out of the tint on a semi-regular basis.

Called to ask about a warranty on on my car from 2013 and even though they do not use the company that the warranty covers anymore they still helped me by pointing me in the right direction and were very professional. Amazing work and a very friendly staff. I highly recommend getting your windows tinted here. You need to make an appointment so call ahead. Go with the higher end brand as it blocks more heat (there is a nice example display in the waiting room), and has a lifetime warranty. Ive brought 2 cars in for tinting so far, and cant live without tinted windows anymore.

I’ve been going to these guys since 1999 when they were north near Capital Plaza. They gave a lifetime warranty on a tint job back then and when I brought the same Acura to them in 2012 with the receipt, they honored it and replaced all the tint. They’ve done all my cars since. They have good brand name tints and some ceramic tints. Quick service but definitely make an appointment. The prices are about the same as everyone else in town but a little cheaper. A+

Tint Specialist in south Austin have tinted 5 of my vehicles, and they will continue to get my business.Ive had taken a couple of my vehicles back, and every time theyve corrected any issues. If you have issues with bubbling to peeling to particles between the glass and the tint, allow them the opportunity to correct it. They will take care of it. I came to Tint Specialist to get my front driver and passenger side window tint replaced (apparently it was too dark to pass my inspection), and they had me in and out in 45 minutes! The staff was nice and helpful, the lady at the front explained all of the options thoroughly to me and the prices were the same as quoted on the phone and on the website (I like consistency). The tint looks great and has a 3 year warranty. I will definitely be back for my future tint needs.

These guys are great. The price was the best I found and the tint job has held up well. They also did a windshield replacement for me that was literally half the price I was getting quoted at other places. ALSO - the upholstery shop next door is steller, so you can get interior work done at the same time.

These guys do an excellent job they offer warranties with pretty much everything that they do, service is quick so youre not waiting for your car all day.

I will not be recommending this Tint Business to anyone I know. The actual Tint seems to be ok, but the experience that my 17 yr old daughter and I received was unkind and definitely a bit shady. After having called twice and being quoted by 2 different individuals (one of them Hector) $99, my Daughter decided to choose Tint Specialist because the reviews seemed pretty good and it stayed within the $100 she had saved to get the car done. Because we live about 40 minutes away, I called first thing in the morning to make sure that they could get us in. Hector said yes come on in it would just take a couple hours. So we drove down and as soon as we walked in he said ok, that will be $129.99. I said that I had called and reminded him about our conversation and the quote from both him and the woman that I talked to the first time @ $99. He said no, I must have misunderstood, and that it was $129.99. I explained that I was pretty sure I didnt misunderstand and that I had spoken to 2 people who both said $99.99 and in fact, i had mentioned that my daughter saved $100 to get her car done when I talked to the first woman. He said well, if you dont want to get it done here you dont have to. I did you the favor of getting you in with no appointment so your just lucky to get it done. I tried to explain that we had Driven 40 minutes here because of what he and the other woman had quoted and I didnt understand why he was being so mean. He again repeated that I didnt have to use his business. Well, we were a bit stuck, as my daughter needed to get her Tint done and I didnt have time to drive around looking for another shop. We ended up leaving the car and getting it done. My Daughter paid the her $100 and I Covered the other $35. As I mentioned above, I think the tint work is fine, I just would never recommend anyone to an establishment that is this shady and honestly just mean.

They did a great job in a short time for a reasonable price. The owner and staff were all very friendly and their attention to detail was top notch.

I have waited about a month to post my review to give my tint time to settle. I purchased a Groupon and called & made an appointment for the next day. My Groupon covered the most basic level tint, or for $49 I could upgrade to their middle range tint which has a lifetime guarantee, or for $89 upgrade to top level which also has a lifetime guarantee. I chose the middle upgrade thinking a lifetime guarantee was worth the price. They did a great job and I have been totally satisfied.

There were several bubbles in the tint right after they did it. When I brought it back for them to fix it, they said it wasnt their fault and its because my car is old. The warranty says nothing about the age of the car. Finally, they agreed to correct the issues. When they removed the tint, I took it home to inspect, and they destroyed the defogger grid lines. I didnt have them complete the job because I dont want them touching my car again. I made every effort to recover money/damages and they did nothing for me.

Just don’t do it. I bought a Groupon for window tint and I guess I got what I paid for. The staff was friendly, but the work was subpar. I had to take it back to get it redone once and the back windows are fine, but both front windows are bubbly and peeling. I asked for a partial refund instead of getting it done again because I doubt a third go will change much. Unfortunately, they refused a partial refund and wanted me to come in again. I just don’t have time to run down there every week and leave my car for them to keep doing shotty work. Anyways, look elsewhere.

I cannot begin to express my absolute unhappiness with the repairs my car received here!!!!! I was hit by a nice enough lady who was very persistent about not calling the police or using insurance, she stated she knew a very good body shop asked me to follow her there and after receiving an estimate she paid the bill. Fair enough, actually overly fair but to my surprise today when I picked up the car I was more than disgusted. The bumper was shoved to the side an basically loose, also there was a spot on the front bumper where when they removed the tape the new paint came up with it, in addition to that the hood was not only misaligned but bent in a way that aligning it would not rectify it. When I showed the man about it he stated the car was over 20 years old and it looked fine to him. He called the lady and she agreed to pay to do further repairs, I took it home begrudgingly and when I got there decided to look into it a little, what I found was a very unprofessional reassembly job, more than half the bolts and clips were missing- No wonder the bumper was loose and misaligned, I will do the repairs myself as I REFUSE to take my car back to this shop!!!!!

I purchased the tint through the VW dealer and to save time waiting at the dealership lobby I took the car directly to Tint Specialist. The work itself looks good so far, but I have only had the tint for 2 days now. What is really disappointing is that the car is brand new and the liquid used to apply the tint had left drip stains on all 4 door interiors. Fortunately I was able to get most of it off with Armor All wipes, but considering they have a deal with the dealer to do all of Onion Creek VWs tint work, you would hope they would do a better job. I would not take another vehicle there.

In the two times I went it went horribly. One car they left bubbles on the window films. The other car the left the rear window film with bubbles. I went to claim it for warranty and every time they didnt have time to do it. Felt like they didnt take it seriously. Go elsewhere.

I hope they can learn to be more considerate of their customers time.If youre willing to risk it, make an appointment. I called in the morning and spoke to Hector. He told me which groupon option to buy.He told me how much itd cost for the removal as well. I asked if I needed to make an appointment, and hes saod, sure you can but you can always just bring it by and it will be finished in two hours.Ok, I coordinate to have someone pick me up at the time of their convenience. I get to the shop at 2:45 and Hector repeats everything he told me on the phone but then asks, are you going to leave it for the afternoon? I was like, uhhh, I thought it took 2 hours? He said no because of the removal it would take all day. So I checked with my ride if that was ok.. if not Id just come another day. My ride said ok so I left it.5:30 rolls around and they call me to let me know it will be longer... a little past 6. Im thinking 30 minutes more, so sure. My ride had to drop me off at 6 because we had an important event to attend at 7. We arrive and my car had not been touched. I was thinking wed get there and theyd be working on it so Id just have to wait half an hour. NOPE. Nothing was done and Hectors first words to me were, Oh, were about to drive it to the back and work on it. WHAT! ITS JUST GOING TO TAKE 30 MINUTES TO DO? Im just assuming thats a bad tint job?Whats frustrating to me is that when I got there Hector spoke to me in a very unapologetic way. I told him that he should have just told me he could not do it today. SERIOUSLY, save everybody the trouble of this whole unnecessary event. It took him a solid 2 minutes and 8 excuses to finally tell me sorry for the inconvenience. I hope they can learn to be more considerate of their customers time.Hector suggested I come another day and that hed remember me. So I got a refund on my groupon.. Ill be going elsewhere. My sons Xterra needed repairs due to hail damage. I was driving to a body shop that i found online and as I was passing by Tint Specialist, I noticed they also did body work. I stopped to get an estimate and compare to the other place. I met Hector Cerda the owner and some of his staff and was very pleasantly surprised by they professionalism and friendliness. Hector inspected the car and gave me an excellent estimate that was very reasonable. He did not waste time and did this immediately. I decided to have them do the work and Hector communicated with me every time I had a question during the process. Tint Specialist finished the work on time and did an excellant job. WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK AND MY SON LOVED IT! Not only did Hector repair the hail damage but the quote was so good that I had them redo the bumpers, molding, door handles and mirrors. Hector also had the wheels powder coated and they look awesome! I would recommend anyone that needs body work or tint done. Hector put top of the line tint on the XTerra and it looks great now! I bought the Groupon deal to tint my windows on my 2007 VW Passat wagon. I took it in last Tuesday and they did a great job on the tint. I even upgraded to the lifetime warranty film. However, when I got the car back I noticed one of the seals on the outside of the back passenger window had been sliced off. It was hanging there when I checked the car out. Hector saw this and I told him. He flatly denied that his employee did this and told me it was like this when they got the car. I know my car and that seal was in perfect condition when they took the car into the garage bay. Hector did not apologize and he didnt even offer to give me a discount on my upgrade. I was disappointed in his reaction. They did a great job on the tint however the customer service, in my case, was horrible.
