I tried Danny based on his glowing reviews and was really excited to find someone closer to home. My appointment was 30 minutes late - for me it was fine that day but still not ideal if you specifically schedule a time. When I left my nails looked worse than what Im used to. I really love when a manicure looks tidy and clean - evenly trimmed skin gel/sns up to cuticle. I asked Danny to please trim more of my cuticle and he told me a few times theres only so much he can do in one time (what does that even mean, my other techs never had an issue). He told me it was my issue I dont use cuticle oil nightly.The borders were uneven and from the second I got in the car my nails looked like they were already a week grown out since the powder was not close to cuticle line. The very last pic I posted is 7 days out - typically my nails look fine for at least 2 weeks.Honestly - that wasnt even the part that bothered me the most. Danny talked the whole time about how other techs are not that good and hes the best. How although hes the best in the area but Im lucky to get my nails done there because everyone else charges more for worse service (not true). I like my nails a little thicker (3 coats) and he told me a few times it looks bad and cheap and all the other ladies want 2 coats - great thanks. He wasnt flexible at all and made me feel like he was doing me a huge favor the whole time. I found the lack of humility and criticism a little unnecessary during a time I just wanted to relax. The behavior was very uncomfortable to sit though - if youre great there should be no need to put others down the work would speak for itself. I felt awkward that he wanted me to continuously compliment him or agree that he was doing great as he declined every request or suggestion I made.I checked and the cute new modern nail bar right across in the new plaza is actually cheaper and higher rated. I will be going there from now on.Pics from the car and when I got home. Then one 1 week later (on laptop by plate). In the car there is oil on my cuticle so its hard to make out but from the home pic you can tell a little more the skin looks frayed and a little rough.

Very well service. Good experts with nails. I love how they are very gentle on customers and delicate. Finished touch is fantastic and I could trust my manicurist as I spoke to Dan about my nail concerns. Dan was great. Thank you!

I love coming here, I usually get my nails done in dip which lasts me a long time and the woman who owns the shop is so sweet.

All staff are friendly! The salon is nice, clean and organized. It has high ceilings and glass walls so there’s plenty of natural lighting! Jacklyn did my pedicure and was the best I’ve tried in Austin. She is friendly yet professional. Will definitely come back to see her! Highly recommended.

OMG! Danny is AMAZING! My new nail salon 😍! I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my nails and Dan talked me through some different design ideas and showed me some of his work. I needed my nails done for my engagement photo shoot this weekend and he did BEAUTIFUL work! he took his time and I could not be any happier. Soooooo happy I found this place !

As of this review, this nail salon has a 4.8 rating which is completely dumbfounding to me after my visit today.The salon was neat and orderly and everyone working there was very nice and personable. However, they seemed to be short on staff, there was 3 people working and my nail tech mentioned multiple times they were really busy with mothers day weekend.Granted I dont get sns done regularly, and the last time was 6 months ago, but I have had great experiences and this wasnt one of them.The tech pushed back my cuticles, then took the dremel to them and went on to applying the sns colors. There was no clear base or top coat powder used, just 2 layers of color. The tech then went into shaping and buffing my nails and didnt use the dremel again to smooth and even out the surface. They dusted off my nails and put the topcoat polish on and put me under some fans to dry, never had me wash my hands or work the excess powder out from under my nails. After they were dry one of the colors made the irregularity of the surface extremely visible which the tech corrected, but upon further inspection after I left the salon, the majority of my nails were fairly janky.My nails also dont have a consistent shape. Its my natural nails which were fairly long and I asked for a more square look which should have been achievable given the length, but only half of them were squared up (how they were naturally), the others are quite rounded and too short now to square.My friend also had her nails done today and while she was much more satisfied with her nail technician, shell be taking a file to her nails as they were all uneven and crooked.**Update **Within 30 hrs of having my nails done, the sns chipped off of my right thumb nail and the sns of my right pointer finger broke off along with my natural nail. This all happened while being on a 9 hr flight (nothing crazy happened).Over the course of this past week the sns has begun to separate from almost all of my natural nails, again, not doing anything extensive, just walked around London, using my hands and nails probably less than I do on a normal basis.Today (the first opportunity since returning from an international trip), I went to the salon to speak with them and ask for a refund.They immediately knew I was the one who posted an unflattering review and told me I was hurting their business. According to them in the 18ish hrs I had before leaving the country (not subtracting time to sleep and finish packing), I should have called them and/or given them the opportunity to completely redo my nails. I sat through a sub-par nail job while having questioned/commented on the shape of the nail and finish, without my expectations being understood or fully corrected, forgive me for not wanting to rush back in to have them remove and reapply sns with the possibility of a similar outcome, damaging my natural nails more and spending valuable time on something that should have been done well in the first place. After 20 minutes of being told that I handled this situation poorly, I did receive a refund.

I always have a pleasant and enjoyable time at this salon. Danny is amazing and takes his time to ensure good detail and service. The volcano pedicure is awesome. Always a happy customer when i leave.

Because of the rude welcome I received, I left this salon. I called ahead but when I arrived it was a different story, they were busy and Id have to wait an unknown amount of time. Its fine if a business gets busy, but delivery in the message means a lot. That day the delivery was rude, short, and I was put off. Not returning.

I’m always able to be seen the same day, I really enjoy the people that work there, they are always smiling and greeting! The technicians are very skilled and gentle at the same time, I took my boyfriend to get his first pedicure and they were welcoming and nice. I highly recommend coming here for your nail needs!

Dan was amazing! I took my daughter here on a whim to get her nails done for prom. She said wanted the sns nails. Dan was friendly and took his time making sure they were done correctly. He did her nails exactly as she asked :) thank you!! We’ll be back for sure, I’m dying to try the lavender pedicure!

Definitely the best nail place in the area, and the cleanest. They were by far the friendliest staff I’ve encountered in the four points area. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Their volcano pedicure is heavenly and so relaxing. It has become my go to salon and I can’t stop raving to my friends.

I moved to Austin two months ago. So I have been looking for new everything, new place to take my car, new nail salon, new taco truck, you get the idea! I went to S&S today and I loved it! I got a pedicure, it was very well done and good prices! I think I found my new nail salon!

So happy with my experience here amid COVID 19. They are having clients make appointments, checking temperatures and they have glass partitions up between me and my technician. And they do amazing work at a very good price. Please please consider supporting this magnificent establishment!

The placw has shields for everyones safety. They are taking your temperature upon arrival. The service is detailed. I was very satisfied with my mani and pedicure.

S&S Nails & Spa is a fantastic find! The manicures and pedicures are done with care and come out perfectly every time! They use very high quality products....my gel manicures last for literally weeks with no chipping or peeling at all. The staff are wonderful....very friendly and accommodating! Honestly only rating it 4/5 because it was SO uncomfortably quiet. Danny did my nails and I love them (DND 508). I had bad glitter SNS before that he really took the time to remove properly with minimal damage to my nail beds. Will definitely be going back.

I have gotten my nails done here twice. Unfortunately, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt after my first experience and try them again.I have been getting my nails done for 23 years. They have no idea what they are doing here. No attention to detail, smoothing, shaping, making sure your nails are even. The most basic steps they miss. They push back your cuticles and then don’t use their drill to file down and smooth the area by the cuticle. They don’t clean under your nails or file/check the length to make sure all nails are the same length. They don’t even have you wash your hands before the top coat.The first time they put a gel top coat on top of my S&S. Within 24 hours the top coat peeled off of all my nails. I thought I would give them one more chance, so I went back 1 week ago. They looked horrible when I left the shop. Almost like a 5 year old painted them. I asked them to even out my nails and square them off. None of my nails have a consistent shape...more rounded than square.They criticized me for how thick my nails were done when I came in. So when they did them they made them so incredibly thin, that within a few days, 5 corners have broken off of 5 different nails and 2 others are deeply cracked. I am a professional and it’s important my nails and hands look nice for work. The job they did both times left me embarrassed and hiding my nails.Their shop is clean and they are nice people, but they do a terrible job. Super disappointed and sorry I wasted my money there.

Best nail salon

I have been coming here since they reopened and it is my favorite salon. The techs take their time and care on my nails in a way that I have never experienced before. I go to school out of town and find myself holding off on getting my nails done so I can get them done while I’m home because I want to come here. This is because I do dip powder nails which are usually thick and look bumpy at other salons but I’ve always gotten them because they last long. But at S&S, they make them look smooth and natural. They are very careful with the application unlike other salons in the area. They explained to me that they do not use the clear base coat because the brand they use for powder works best without the clear base while still lasting weeks. This is true! In my experience, I’ve had nails from them last a month or longer. I only end up getting them redone because they become grown out. I appreciate their ability to do their work differently and better than other salons where the status quo is sub par. Love them!

My granddaughter came over for a girls’ weekend and I thought I’d surprise her and get our nails done at S&S. I made an appointment knowing that businesses are having to work differently with the Covid guidelines and wanted to support them as a local small business. We were greeted by Dan and Helen with a warm and very friendly welcome and I knew right away that my granddaughter’s 1st pedicure was going to be a fun one! We went with the Volcano pedicure which she loved because of the erupting bubbles and fun aroma therapy... and Dan was very gentle with her while I was being pampered by Helen. My granddaughter‘a little golden toes with a white flower made her feel like a princess and of course I felt pretty special too!!! Jacqueline completed her fun experience by placing sparkled bows on her golden nails as she gave her a mani. The staff was awesome!!!!With very few safe options out there for a fun Gigi- granddaughter weekend this was the perfect safe, clean and sanitary place to go to and I was very confident that my precious baby jewel was not in harms way.Thank you S&S for such a wonderful experience for my precious babygirl’s 1st experience !!!!!She’s still talking about it!!!! I highly recommend this safe environment for some happy girl time!!!

They always take care with my nails. They never rush through to get to another customer. I have never had any problems with my nails as I have with other salons. They also are friendly and polite.

The best Pedicure Ive ever had! This place Was so nice, the people were friendly and very helpful. We were in the area for a wedding and they were able to fit us in and had us looking event ready in no time. I also had my eyebrows done and they look spectacular! They also had some beautiful artwork on the wall .

This place is fantastic! When here on a whim because it was close to my house and I was not disappointed. The young man who took care of me let me know that the temperature in the salon was a little warm because they had just opened. He was incredibly nice and accommodating. Will definitely come back twice a month!

Dan is the best! He took his time and was super gentle. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I found my new favorite nail salon.

I love this place. It is so clean and modern. The staff is so friendly. My pedis last so long, Ive never had them last this long from any other place. The best part, a pedi is only $25.00!! AND, they have a loyalty program where they stamp a card. After ten pedicures/stamps your next one is free. If you live in the four points area you should definitely get all your nail needs done here.

My sister ane I tried this place for the first time today and I have never had a better pedicure or manicure. Im not from here and I have a regular nail salon back home that I love, however after coming here the pedicures and manicures back home just wont compare. The staff was incredible friendly, polite, and it was reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this salon.

Three weeks ago I walked into S & S Nail Spa and told the nail tech that I’ve never had a good experience at a nail salon because they have just been too rough or their quality of work was poor. Jackline took SUCH good care of my nail beds while cleaning them up for sns powder dip. She shaped them well leaving them just the right thickness. Not everyone has the talent Jackline does because as a dog groomer these beauties lasted three whole weeks. I just got them redone and am just as happy if not more happy with her phenomenal work. Thank you!!

I love this salon! The service is outstanding, atmosphere is conducive to relaxing and forgetting about the hustle and bustle of life. I went there yesterday tense and upright and came out relaxed and feeling great--And that was just a mani and a pedi. Looking forward to a facial. I highly recommend. Oh, the price is right too.

I’ve been to a lot of nail salons and this one is by far the worst. He took 2 hours to do my nails.Two of my nails are noticeably crooked and slanted and they look horrendous. A couple of the acrylic tips that were put on werent even close to being straight. Awful, I do not recommend.
