I didnt want to use this site at first. I though for sure they were going to use a computer algorithm to kinda sorta do the same thing you could have done on any apartment search site. And I thought for sure they would spam your email forever and somehow your email would get into the hands of other websites. I couldnt have been more wrong. Almost immediately after I put in my information, a person ( a real live person! Stella!!) was texting me to get down to the nitty gritty of what we were really looking for in an apartment. Within a day, Stella had SEVEN units for me to look at along with all the information I would normally have to dig for myself. More info even! She got prices, she got square footage, she got terms, addresses, date available, and insights both personally and from the property. She seriously saved me the hassle of hours worth of work, and when its time to find a new home in Austin, I really hope I can find her here again. Definitely an invaluable service and absolutely free of charge to you. Just send them puppy pics if they & you are so inclined.

I sadly didnt have the greatest experience with Smart City moving from out of state. But i would still recommend them to others because they do really want to help people.My issue with them was because of fair housing laws Smart City cannot tell you the neighborhood the apartment is in is sketchy (homeless encampments). I went through Smart City Locator and had Lynette help me out !!I can’t remember the last time I’ve left a review but I wanted to make sure that whoever goes through Smart City gets Lynette because she is on top of her stuff !! Not only did I get exactly what I wanted for my low price range, but she was able to find me an apartment in a cute location, and followed up with me every week reminding of important dates and when to lock in my search. I absolutely adore her and I recommended her to a friend and she already had them moved in a couple of months in to speaking with them.That woman knows what she’s doing!!! Ask for Lynette. 10/10 experience. I would definitely use Smart City Locator again.

Oh my goodness! I cannot say enough great things about Noah Halle and Smart City Austin! I met with Noah to begin our search and the experience was amazing and incredibly fast! He is a great listener and simply a blast to work with. Looking for a new place can feel stressful, but with Noah, we chatted like old friends, and he found my new little apartment within 2 days! I planned to move within 3 days of finding it, and immediately had other employees from Smart City contacting me to offer help with finding moving companies, setting up internet, electricity, etc. The entire process was seamless and easy! She listened to her needs, got an extensive list of real possibilities together and then set us up with an easy schedule to follow. I had the best experience ever with Nico from Smart City- he took into account everything that I was looking for in an apartment, including budget, the direction I wanted my balcony to face, location, etc and found me my dream place. I didnt end up renting an apartment through Smart City, since my partner and I opted to lease a duplex directly managed by a landlord. But I had a great introductory experience with Mariana when I called to inquire about their services. She gave me a thorough overview of all the forces stressing Austins housing market and was a model of calm, poise and patience as she listened to our search criteria and walked me through different housing options. If I knew someone in Austin was looking for an apartment locator, Id recommend her in a heartbeat.

Full disclosure: I ended up not renting an apartment in Austin but not because Taylor Payne didnt go above and beyond, and I want to brag on him regardless. He reached out to me within hours of my internet inquiry. Not only was he friendly and professional, but very eager to help me relocate from out of state. Im pretty sure he ran himself ragged the week before I came to town, trying to put together a list of beautiful properties that would check off most of my needs & wants list. In addition, when some of those options didnt quite work, he went back to the drawing board at a moments notice and worked relentlessly to find great alternatives. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a rental in the Austin area. He really knows the market and hes fun to boot! A pleasure to work with on every level. :)

Smart City made a difficult move such a dream. Hannah was always johnny-on-the-spot to take all the videos or pics I needed to feel comfortable moving from CA to TX and the apt I landed in lived up to all the hype. I wouldnt hesitate to use Hannah and SC in a heartbeat if I need to move again

Renee Semerar was absolutely amazing!! I was recommend to Smart City by a friend after expressing to her my anxiety of not knowing where I would live. Apartment searching is so stressful to especially in a city I don’t know and when there are so many options.Renee was very personable and treated me like a friend. She addressed all my concerns and really listened to all my wants/needs. After a long journey and me not being able to make a decision she found a hidden gem. Great people to work with - they made the apartment search easy and nowhere near as stressful as I thought itd be. Worked w Rosie and she found several places that met my requirements, which was impressive since my number 1 need was a place w no breed restrictions. She never went above my max budget, though I did end up spending a little more since the market is crazy right now (~5 days between getting the list and touring and the desired on-budget apts were already leased out).Only con is I wish they communicated via a shared phone number or email domain - its a bit shady getting random numbers sending links and asking for personal information
