Perfect first haircut for my 3 year old son! Kari was very kind and friendly and is clearly great with kids. He got to sit in a little car shaped chair and was so excited about his lollipop and hot wheels car she gave him afterwards. Haircut was exactly what I asked for at a great price. Will definitely be returning for his future cuts.

My son has been going to this barbershop for years seeing Abe(who is amazing) but he was booked so he called too see if they were doing walk-ins Bc we were unsure, mike answered the phone and he was then passed to “the walk in” barber whom first stated he was busy and tired, understandable right, well he said next walk in appt was at 11:20 today and if he was paying with cash then he would hold the spot, my son then said he didn’t have cash it would be card, he then got extremely rude stating he wasn’t doing any “favors” for someone paying with a card!!! First of all he wasn’t asking for any favors! He simply was asking about walk-ins and secondly if you “prefer” cash that’s all you had to say point blank but instead you went out of your way to be hateful!So disappointed! We were driving 40 mins just to go here, I called back to complain and got not a sorry just “ok” from the owner!There are many more barbershops out here, that my 16 yr old doesn’t have to be spoken to like garbage!! Don’t waste your money on this place!!Faded barber in Arden did absolutely amazing, with a much more chill atmosphere and get this respectful!

Awesome place for a first hair cut. Staff new exactly how to deal with a 22 month old that has never sat still in his life. There were no tears and the whole process was done in less than 15 minutes. We got a little trophy to put a lock of his hair in, and he got to pick out a Hotwheels car.

Abe does a stellar job on my husbands hair, and for a fair price. They have great talks, the vibe of the place is chill. Kids have the option to sit in a police car or fire truck, which is cute, and the staff is skilled at working with this young demographic.

This place is awesome. I have a boy with special needs and Mikey ( the owner) has always gone above and beyond to accommodate us. He is highly skilled at his job, gives a great haircut, he is compassionate, professional and friendly. He has special fire truck seats for the Little’s and a nice play area. The place is very clean and accommodating.His prices are crazy good and he even gives the kiddos a matchbox car after the haircut! I always recommend this place to everyone!

I have taken my toddler son here twice and both times were a great experience. Mikey cut his hair on his first visit and even suggested a great hair cut for his hair type that turned out super cute (I walked in with no clue about a desired hairstyle as my little boy had long hair). They are patient and friendly with wiggling children. My Husband and I have also had haircuts from multiple different barbers and they always turn out great. I am a woman with fine, thin hair. Most hair salons I have visited have rushed through my haircut and have barely done anything with the actual shape other than trimming the ends because it is so fine. Most shops use it as a chance to do a super quick cut and turn the chair over instead of trying to give my thin hair some actual style. The Chop Shop does not do that at all. I am amazed that I have received far better results from a Barber Shop than any of the multiple salons I have visited. Great job guys!

Best barbershop in our area hands down. Mikey has regularly been cutting my hair for 4 years now. He has always been over-accommodating with setting appointments around my schedule and I’ve never walked away disappointed. He and his staff have always been friendly and welcoming. They’ve grown from 3 chairs in a smaller location to 7 or 8 fully staffed chairs in a much larger space to accommodate their demand...that should tell you something.

Mikey cut my sons hair, and did an amazing job!! He HATED getting his hair cut until we went to The Chop Shop. The decor is awesome....kids ages 1-99 will love looking at all the cars. They have a kid friendly waiting area that has tons of toys and a train table, and once the haircut was done, he got to pick a surprise. We wont go anywhere else!!!

I have been to many different barbershops over the past 20 years. I like to have a straight shaved head and my beard to blended into my bald head with good length left on bottom and my mustache trimmed nice and tight. They always do a great job and never have a complaint. They also carry the product I need to keep my beard inline and love the atmosphere. Unlike great cuts you can actually talk and get to know your barber. I mainly use Mikey the owner which is by appointment but when I have had to just stop by and do a walk in they still take time to listen to exactly what I want and I am PICKY and always do a great job. Highly recommend The Chop Shop.

Been taking my boy (4-year-old) here to get his and my hair cuts for about two years now. They have inevitably done a great job each time, and my boy gets a car or piece of candy for doing well in the chair. These guys are great, and friendly, and interesting, but best of all they know how to cut hair! Ive been cut by 5 different stylists now, and every one of the cuts has been quality. They have great patience when my boy doesnt, which I definitely cannot say for most barbershops/stylists in town. Will continue to go here as long as possible.

Mikey delivers. He has a gentle personality and makes great conversation. Plus, I left his shop looking good! Also, I have a 2 yr old and The Chop Shop has a race car on a pedestal for children to sit in while they get their haircut. Although my son, wasnt in the market for a haircut he sat beside me and drove the car while I had myself beautified ;) In addition, Mikey has a great selection of toys for the kids too and I must mention tons of video games to play for any ages! A great barber and a great place that goes beyond typical barber shop settings.

Before Mikey and his team came to the area, gettingYour hair cut was a joke. Never the same way, waiting lines were long, and the job was not good.The first time Mikey cut my hair I knew I had finally found my barber. His professionalism along with his staff are by far one of the leading shops in WNC.His skills can hardly be matched, Kids love him, and after 3 years He is a good friend. My sons first haircut was a huge success. He sat in a car also, so much fun. The barber was super nice and gentle. He even got a lollipop, hot wheels car, little trophy and a hair clipping. We went on a Saturday as a walk in, had no trouble. There were even kid toys to keep him busy while waiting!! Would recommend them to anyone.

These guys are phenomenal. I booked an appointment for myself and my groomsmen before my wedding last September. We felt like rock stars when we walked out. These guys have us the full works at a super reasonable price. A full (super close) shave as well as the best haircut Ive ever had. They really made our day. I took my son to have his haircut today. He has been growing his hair out for a year and just wanted the sides to be cleaned up and the top thinned. He and I both specifically told the barber to do a three on the sides, and thin the top. I look up and see that he is cutting the top of his hair completely off, and has made the sides very short. Before getting too upset I wanted to ask my son if he changed his mind during the haircut considering he is 13. Once finding out he did not tell the barber anything different, we told him that that is not what we asked for, and it’s too short. His only response was that the top was frizzy and it needed to be cut. I then explained him his hair is naturally curly and had no product in it.There’s nothing we can do about it now other than pure disappointment. Regardless of curly hair or not if he had questions I was sitting right there. We’ve been here in the past and they’ve done great so I did not think that I had to watch him like a hawk but I will not ever be returning here. It’s sad considering I’m sure that there other people there that are still good, but again ask if you have questions. He basically did what he wanted to with my sons hair... and still charged me!

My son had had a bad experience at his previous hair salon (she cut his ear yikes!), so this was our first time back. Omg I can not say enough! Shua did such a wonderful job on my 6-yr old sons hair! It was a big cut too (from long to short). He did an amazing job!! Definitely our go to from now on!!

Ive been to many barber shops but just couldnt find the right fit. When I met Mikey it was an instant connection. The very first haircut I got from him I knew immediately I was coming back. I love getting a haircut from him. I know that he will be my barber for years to come because I enjoy his work. He has a great soul and is really fun to be around. I would recommend getting a haircut by him to anyone.

Ive been here several times now to get a haircut and beard trim and every time Ive left very satisfied. The first time I went I was thinking about trying a new style of cut but was uncertain. Abes confidence and skill soon put me at ease though. Now I wont go anywhere else. My 5yr old son had an appointment today w/(my son calls him) Mr. Mikey. Ive been bringing my son to The Chop Shop for a couple years now every 5-7weeks. My son gets compliments on the daily about his awesome haircut! Mikey & the other barbers do such quality work. Ive seen so many people leave after their cut looking amazing and their confidence soars. My son is always excited to get his haircut and if the kids behave they get a lolly along with a hotwheel car afterwards! I think thats such a cool thing for Mikey to do! This place has become a cool part of my sons childhood now. Its such a perfect place for both children and adults!!! Its also a great place for my son to learn positive grooming habits that will stay with him throughout his life. Theres a child play area that my son really enjoys. Its a comfortable, clean, & tidy environment. Theyve cool police car, firetruck, etc...seats for the kids during their cuts which is a great distraction if your child is not used to haircuts yet. My son used to fidget but with each haircut & positive reinforcement (the lolly & toy car after) now he sits so good. Highly recommended!!! 5stars for sure!!! Im grateful for this place.

Shua is the best one there period. he is kind and listens to what I want. Mikey the owner is rude to me and nice to my husband last time he cut my sons hair he asked what I want and as I was talking pulled out his cell phone and was talking to his wife and didn’t even listen to me. Plus the prices nearly doubled and the service went waaay down hill it’s filled with screaming kids all day everyday not even a barbershop anymore I used to tip the amount of the haircut but we will not be coming back again. I gave them 3 stars because of the service provided in the past and the fact that it could be good...if all the things I stated were fixed.

After a scheduling conflict the guys here took personal time away to ensure I got my hair cut before pictures the next day. I would recommend this shop to any and everyone and I’m glad that my wife suggested them. I already look forward to the next visit.

Nice people and amazing with my toddler! We took our son to fantastic Sams for his first haircut and they screwed it up horribly. Thank goodness for the chop shop they fixed it and now its the only place we take him.

I don’t normally write reviews but this place earned one. I had recently relocated to Asheville, and am extremely picky about my hair. To say I get very nervous about going to a new barber would be a massive understatement. Anyways, I showed Amy a picture of what I wanted and walked out with a phenomenal haircut! The people are extremely friendly and the prices are unbeatable. Don’t hesitate to make this your shop!
