My hair is challenging, with cowlicks and such. I was in the area houshunting and decided to try to find my new barber as well. However, Cameron did not deliver on what I needed. At this price point, more precision, expertise, and attention is expected. I’ll have to find someone else to provide what I need in a few weeks.

To start, my appt started right on time. Before I sat down, Amy and I discussed what I wanted. I told her that a few places before hadn’t done what I asked for, but based what they did off of traditional haircuts. She absolutely killed it, and kept checking between each step if everything was still looking good. The end result was what I had tried to get at 3 different places before. Everyone was friendly and the shop was very nice, and clean.

Less than One Star, actually! Probably the worst beard trim and haircut I ever got. I did a walk-in and got whoever was on duty. The whole experience was a painful disaster. Dull razors. My head got pushed around in uncomfortable positions. Scratches all over my neck. Then I got doused in burning rubbing alcohol. Where do all these terrific Asheville beards get worked on?

I met Nick at a previous barber shop in the Asheville area and I’ve been going to him ever since (4 years). Wherever he goes, I follow. He, by far, does the cleanest fades. He is an artist and you can tell by the way he very intricately and precisely cuts your hair to the exact way you request. If you are nervous about going to a new barber: don’t be. You will be in good hands with Nick. He is worth his weight in gold.

I came in for a straight razor shave, a $40 service, and left getting half of it as a 5 blade Gillette and the other half was straight razer... I dont believe the guy, Nick, either knew what he was doing or was reeeaaal rusty. I addition to that he nicked me a lot. It is unfortunate because the guy was cool, but I wanted the experience and couldve just shaved myself for free.

I stopped in for a beard trim and got to be seen immediately by Cameron who was a total joy to have work on my unkempt beard. He trimmed and styled me to complete satisfaction.... making sure to check In with me periodically for my feedback. I’ll be back for sure. Thanks Cam for making me feel a lot better about my beard hairs!!

If you want the cleanest looking fade and/ or beard trim in the Asheville area, ask for Nick. I’ve been seeing Nick to trim & shape up my beard and I’m always impressed with his attention to detail and precision. Nick is a true artist who cares about his work and making his clients feel fresh and confident after sitting in his chair.

I was in town a month and visited a couple times for a haircut. It was easy to book a spot via the online system. Cameron is an excellent barber, who is detail oriented and took the time to ensure I got a good fade. Highly recommend this spot for a haircut!

Best place to get a clean shave and haircut. Been a long time since I had a nice hair cut and then I come here and this dude makes me look like a sculpture God himself molded. Defitnetly do recommend this place to anyone that needs a good cut. 1000000/10

Downtown Ashevilles only full-service barber shop located in the elegant and stylishly fashionable Grove Arcade. I tagged along with my BFF to this place as I do work in the Beauty industry & he had been raving about it for a long time, so I wanted to check it out. It was awesome! Felt like I was in NYC for a minute. I snapped some before & after photos of my guy friend who had the service and he looks FRESH. I also threw a selfie in there of yours truly in my new Adidas track suit dress for your viewing pleasure. :)

Well I called to make an appointment and the fella said they don’t take appointments, just walk ins. So I said I’ll come on down. I got there about 10 minutes after the call and when I walked in the guy said, “do you have an appointment?” And I said no, you just told me on the phone that y’all only take walk ins.He grabbed his phone and started looking at his social media and said,” that must have been the other guy and he just left to go have a drink. I only take appointments.”No one else was in the building...I was dumbstruck. I couldn’t believe anything that just happened.

What an amazing experience I had at this Barber. Traveling up from Florida and getting ready for my wedding I was hoping to find a place to not screw up on my hair and Nick did an amazing job with the hair and beard. Told my wife when we visit again we definitely need to come back here for a cut. Highly recommend coming here.

Called yesterday to try to get an appointment for today (Saturday) They told me that they only take walk-ins on Saturdays and stop taking walk-ins at 2:30. We drove from Barnardsville, and got there at two and they were already closed. Pretty unfortunate because this is the second barber downtown in the last week where we haven’t been able to see a stylist because they’re not there when they say they’re going to be. Very unprofessional and irritating !!

I’m honestly not one to even leave reviews but if I can help spare someone from spending $35 for a mediocre haircut I will. I was visiting and needed a cut for a performance, and though the folks were genuinely nice, I felt like I was getting my hair cut by someone completely unsure of himself and new. Took forever. Skin fade wasn’t a skin fade. Beard is uneven. Lines are not clean at all. I had to be a coach on things I shouldn’t have. Again, the dude was literally a cool guy but I’m paying for a solid haircut, not just a friendly conversation.

I asked for a low fade and got a high and tight with a flop of hair on top ....I never know how to react when a barber messes up because whats done is down but damn....I cant show my head I.nPublic for months

Came in for a simple trim. Haircut took about 45 minutes. I was the only customer there. Barber must fresh out of school or high as a kite. Edges were not lined up, random long hairs throughout my hair, back of the neck completely off. Look on Yelp to see the before and after photos.

Ive been growing my hair out the past 2 years and I decided it was time for a cut. I did my research before hand and traveled from Waynesville to here as I was searching for excellence. I found exactly that at Asheville Barber and Beard. I was instantly greeted when I walked in the door and within 2 minutes Nick was sitting down discussing what I wanted for a cut. We got right too it and this man was professional from the start and knew exactly what he was doing. Worth the drive, and worth the money. I will definitely be returning regularly.

Great haircut in the historic Grove Arcade downtown. The shop has a contemporary and modern feel to it. I have been a walk in the past three times I have been there, and I have never had to wait. My haircuts have been exactly what I have wanted. This past time, the barber was friendly and held a conversation as he cut my hair. The prices are on par for most places in town. The only thing keeping from 5 stars is that my beard trim felt a little overpriced and rushed. Overall great experience and the full hot towel and straight razor treatment is A+.

Ive been getting my hair and beard cut at Asheville Beard and Barber for almost 3 months now after bouncing around different barber shops in Asheville. A friend of mine told me to ask for Nick. Ive never been happier with barber. Nick literally cuts my hair exactly like I ask him too and always exceeds my expectations. Ive never left with a bad cut and never left not feeling fresh. Really disappointed. My usual spot was closed for vacation so I thought I would give these guys a chance to earn my business. Asheville was busy so I parked a good 15 minute walk away from their shop. Showed up 75 minutes before the posted close time on a Saturday which is strictly walk ins. There was no one else waiting and I was told they weren’t taking any more customers. On the way out the door I double checked their posted hours of business just to be sure it said 3pm and it did. Certainly not impressed by their lack of professionalism and will never be back. Don’t waste your time, go to Local Barber & Tap on Walnut St.

Very trendy DT barber shop right next to the grove, was able to walk in and be seen with in 15 mins by Nick. Nick was very professional and talented barber who takes pride in providing the highest quality of service.
