Nice area for living. Great location. Friendly staff. Cons: a lot of trees close to buildings so no sunlight in rooms. Not enough street lights in complex or brightness of them too low.

The staff here are helpful and friendly. its nice to have a variety of personally in the office. Every few years construction is done to make the property look nice and keep things moving smoothly. The complex is pet friendly which is great for animal lovers. The location is wonderful for entertainment because everything is within walking distance.

I worked remotely with Michelle Lee during my search for a place when I was not already in the area. Michelle was helpful, I enjoyed working with her. I would love to give the Forest more stars because it truly is a lovely place, but some things drug my star reviews down with my move in. The lease had some wording that needed readjusting for the fairness of the tenants. I had to speak to management about it, and she even was a little taken aback too when I pointed it out to her. When I moved in, there were a few things not quite up to par.The cabinets had sticky substances in them that needed cleaning out at move in.The carpet was visibly soiled, despite them saying it had just been cleaned. The property manager came out and agreed that it did not look clean, so we got an appointment with their carpet cleaning service they use to come reclean it. Now this part is not the Forests fault, but the carpet cleaner was in an out of my apartment with his equipment and cleaning in less than 10 minutes. It takes a LOT longer than that to thoroughly clean a carpet. He did not even come close to the walls with his cleaning. There was a solid inch of dry space between the walls and where he cleaned and visible dirt still there. I shrugged it off because the soiled part I was worried about seemed to be taken care of. But when I bought a vacuum a week later and vacuumed it, I got a half cannister full of dirt and hair from one sweep of the bedroom! There also was a ringing/trilling noise with the AC, which I told them about with my walk through review at move in, but nothing was done about it.A week and a half into living here, I started to smell sewer intermittently in the bathroom and it looked like the wax ring was broken. I put a work order in and they had someone come out ASAP. Turns out that there was a broken wax ring and a few other odds and ends that should have been looked into prior to move in with the plumbing.  I brought up the ringing/trilling noise while he was here, and he was more than happy to take a look. When he opened up where the filter was stored, the filter was filthy and there was packed up dirt in the coil space behind it that he had to clean out.I also have a window that has issues when opening it that maintenance will have to look into.Other than those few complaints, the grounds are lovely, just watch where you step because there is dog poop intermittently that people havent picked up. The trails through the woods are very calming to walk, and I love that they havent cut down all of the trees. The trees give it a more private feel. The location is close to pretty much anything you need from town and close to hiking/mountain biking trails. It is a fair enough place to live, and about on par with the pricing of other rentals in the area (inflated prices because of the Asheville hype).

You do not want to rent from this place or even attempt to, they will steal your money and charge your card fees. I recently applied went through with application fee but did not get approved, my credit score is very high, I then move in to a new apartment, and noticed my card has been charged for an admin fee (move in) fee from the forest! They now won’t answer any calls won’t direct me to a manager I don’t know what to do! This place sucks.

Apartment facilities are decent. Adequate remodel job in typical lipstick-on-a-pig style. Parking can be difficult - vehicle limits per apartment are not enforced. Only updated appliances are those you readily see - the fridge, dishwasher, and stove. Dishwasher is great, fridge is small, stove is electric and prone to issues, no microwave. Water heater and air conditioner are old and inefficient. Pool facilities may be decent if they were ever open and usable. Perpetually closed with no signage or communication. Gym equipment is adequate - all machines, no free weights. Playground is dismal - no shade, very hot; with old wooden equipment. Trail access advertised is VERY steep - dangerous on a bike, unwalkable for young kids - and quite a workout with a stroller.Does not make any loop around apartment complex. Maintenance staff are very responsive, though uncommunicative. Office staff act more as though they feel they are babysitters there to enforce childish rules at a daycare rather than treating residents as adult paying guests. Would not recommend, will not renew lease.

I do not recommend anyone to look into renting from The forest at biltmore Park. My stay during there was fine and they had good amenities. My only problem is they have not returned a final refund of 300$. It has been 7 months and I have gone in person, emailed, called and mailed a certified letter on multiple occasions explaining that they are holding my refund and it needs to be returned. Yet that hasn’t stopped them from keeping my money no matter what recourse action I have taken. Again for your own sanity I would not recommend them. I would live in my car before I go back to The Forest.

I enjoyed living here for the time that I did, however beware of money hungry office staff when you move out. I transferred apartments with the previous office staff due to issues with my apartment; I was refunded my security deposit and was never charged a transfer fee. I will be honest that my dogs were, well DOGS! They had accidents occasionally during the 2 years we lived in the apartment that I first lived in, but I was never charged. I lived in the apartment that I transferred to for 9 months and was charged $800 to replace carpet by the new office staff that took over. Correct me if Im wrong, but literally every apartment Ive lived in replaces the carpet regardless?...To make matters worse I was never notified that I had a past due balance UNTIL I received a collection notice who threatened to destroy my credit within 30 days if I didnt start making payments. Due to this negative experience, I would not recommend Forest at Biltmore park to anyone anymore as I feel they are not trustworthy, very unfortunate things had to end this way. Happy to say I bought a house to avoid being raked of money by apartment owners like this.

This is like one of those nightmare places you hear about. They have been doing roofing and siding on the buildings randomly, and usually start at 8am. All of this so the property value rises and we have to pay higher rent later, while dealing with over 1/4 of my lease time waking up to construction right outside my bedroom window. The roofers have used my electricity causing my bill to double, and they leave their fast food trash littered all over the yard. I recently got charged a $25 trash fine for putting my recycling bag next to the trash pickup, all while the backyard is littered with trash. Bringing this up to the office ladies was met with some smart and curt responses.Three times since moving in, I have had to talk to them about extra charges on rent. Twice they have tried to charge me for utilities by saying I didnt have an account, while my account information was clearly placed as the first page of my file.I have turned in my notice, but have yet to receive confirmation after asking twice for them to email it over the course of a month. Im just waiting for them to overlook it and try to tack on some extra charges for moving. The only reason that I gave them 1 star is that their maintenance staff is friendly and very prompt about repairs (which are very often due to low-quality or old appliances). This is by far the worst place I have dealt with as a tenant.

Used to love where I live but it’s definitely gone down hill. It’s not as nice as it used to be. And you can put in service requests and never get calls back, or you can call the office and they don’t answer, but alas never return the call, even when leaving a message. You have to pay for trash pickup, and they only pick up the trash half the time. Just seems to have gone down hill. If it wasn’t so expensive to move, I definitely would. I’ve lived here for four years!

Long story short, i terminated my lease because i feared for the safety of my wife and one year old child living here. My car and mailbox were broken in to. There had been threats of gun viloence at the dog park and even a fugitive standoff with the swat team in another building. They let me move out with 60 days notice and we stayed on good terms. Then, despite providing them with a forwarding address and phone numbers, they made no attempt to contact me regarding my deposit or money owed for damages. They imeadiately turned my account over to a collection agency over $237. I would avoid not only Monica and the Forest at Biltmore Park, but all Bell apartment complexes in the area.

If you are considering living here, or already live here and have questions or concerns, I would suggest asking for Lauren specifically. So far, pretty great! Weve been here 5 months on ground floor. Our utilities are amazingly afforable. While we dont love all our neighbours and the pool environment (neighbors or not) is way too sketchy to enjoy, the staff and building are really great for the value. Nicely landscaped, cool, and generally quiet. We had a glitch with Bell website that complicated our rent payment. I talked to Lauren Unanue and she fixed everything in literally two minutes. She was sweet, professional and helpful! The maintenance crew are quick, respectful, and make you feel at ease. To have good neighbors be a good neighbor! Lived here for more than 2 years. The buildings were built in the 90s but have great insulation. I barely heard the neighbors. Utility bills were very reasonable for a 2BR/ 2BA. The maintenance crew was always very responsive and it is convenient to put in maintenance orders online. Amenities are good, but as indicated by prior reviewers, some might be closed for renovation or repairs. I dont play tennis so the non-useable courts didnt bother me. The gym I think is well equipped and comparatively large. During the time of my stay it was air-conditioned. The main aspect did not enjoy was the yearly 4-6% automatic increase in rent. Overall, a peaceful complex and centrally located nearby major streets and shops. I also enjoyed the closeness to trails/ hikes, such as bent creek.

The Forest @ Biltmore is very quiet and peaceful even though its near a busy interstate. The miles of walking trails are awesome and convenient for getting to Biltmore Park YMCA, Barnes and Nobles, Restaurants and Movie Theater by foot cutting down on a lot of needless driving. My only complaint is with some residents not cleaning up after there dogs. Im usually ok with dog people but having to dodge poop is really making me an anti-dog person. Im noticing a neuroticism in human culture where even folks who shouldnt have dogs, have dogs. If you wont clean up after an animal, dont invite it to be part of your family. All in all, I love living here.

The experience of living at The Forest at Biltmore Park was not good at all. The apartment was cold and the insulation never worked fine. During the strong winter the unit was cold all the time. By the time of Contract signature the first impression was not good, the staff was unable to show us all the available units and make us confused. By the end of contract, Ive received a new rental price (for the next 12 months) and the rental increased about 10%. Due to these complications, I do not recommend this place for leaving.

I lived in a 3rd floor unit so I didnt have to deal with upstairs noise but I could hear music/loud discussions below me. Snow clearance after a storm is slow and not a priority, as is getting walkways cleared. Communication from office was poor before move in, emails were not answered and that caused problems at move-in. I rented my apartment unseen and wasnt allowed to look at it day before move in because no one was available to show it to me, instead of just giving me the key. On the plus side, convenience to interstate, grocery shopping, and Biltmore Park is nice. Apartment grounds were clean, except for the times dumpsters were overflowing. Relatively quiet. While this apartment was fine for 6 months, I would hesitate to live here long-term, as rents are high.

Nightmare. The first apartment we were signed a lease for in here wasn’t ready (plastic covering everywhere, some windows open with the heat on that we were already paying for, spray primer all over the place but nothing painted, standing water in a pan under the hot water heater, and massive water stains in the hallway ceiling, and the windows in the bedrooms had nails in them making it so you couldn’t open them??). We were relocated to a different unit because of this. A few months later the hot water heater above our unit broke flooding our apartment and compromising the electrical. 3 hours after the flood the property manager claimed everything was perfectly livable and she wasn’t going to have it inspected until it was dry. Told us to take our small child back into the dwelling (the one that just had sparks flying out of the sockets that she refused to have inspected) with a blower fan running 24/7. We ended up calling code enforcement and they had an automatic violation because the floors were still wet. Initially they did not want to provide a safe dwelling for us while the problem was being solved, and they finally offered us one after we started calling licensed water mitigators and code enforcement to figure out how to proceed properly, and then they offered us to terminate our lease with a 30 day notice with no termination fees (which we acted on because I felt unsafe at that point). I recommend reading the reviews unlike us, because it will save your family. This place does not care about your safety or wellbeing of you or your family and they will treat you with condescension if any problems arise. They nickel and dime your deposit when you leave too.

The surrounding area is pretty and there is a nice greenway close. They are pet friendly, to the point that there’s dog poop everywhere from where residents don’t pick up their poop. There is a maintenance truck that flies through the parking lot which isn’t safe considering there’s a lot of children here. There have been 3 cars hit by the same tenant in our building and they haven’t payed for any of the damage They’ve caused. They are on camera hitting other cars and the police have been notified. If you ever have an issue with being over charged for rent or other services, then the office staff, one person in particular is extremely unprofessional, defensive, condescending and rude over the phone. They changed valet trash service month or so ago, after that we all started getting notices on our door if there were 2 or more bags. We also started recycling at the same time yet only had one valet trash can provided. We I called and asked what I was doing wrong with placement of my trash, Sarah said “if you read the instruction, you would know what to do with it” with that being said I read the same instructions to her and there was nothing on there that said the bags had to be stacked on top of each other on top of the trash can and not beside it. It was an extremely unpleasant conversation that should not have escalated the way it did, however her personality is aggressive and she takes the stance that she’s better then the person she is speaking with. It’s unfortunate. She really should not be working with the public. This last conversation we had, she said that she was going to hang up on me because she was getting angry and loosing her temper and I ask her I wasn’t finished with my questions and she hung up on me. When I called back she wouldn’t pick up the phone. Plus I’ve gotten different information from different folks. Sandra has always been nice. I would give her a 5 star. Beware when you come here. They will sell you on the location and the apartment and nice community, etc. but if you have any problems, questions then you can expect for Sarah to make you feel dumb and stupid, because she Is better then you. If you are lucky and get to talk with other staff, then you’ll probably have a pleasant experience. We will never rent here again and if I would’ve known it would be like this, then we would have went elsewhere. There are plenty of other places that are comparable or better. I’ve lived in Plenty of apartment homes, and have never had a worse experience then I did here. Prior to living here, I’ve had a great experience with all the office staff at other apartment complexes. I’ve never been talked to the way Sarah has spoke to me. Considering how much we pay to stay here, it’s utterly unacceptable behavior from someone who is supposed to be a professional.

60 days notice is required making it VERY difficult to move in/out in the Asheville rental market, where units rent overnight. You almost surely pay double rent. The area is well kept, great location, but I would never rent with any of the Bell Properties again or recommend to a friend. There are lower costing apartments in the area which are more affordable. They claim rent changes daily like a commodity but they are the only company operating this way. They charge random fees ($9/month admin fee = 108/year??) and the rent is WAY above fair market value. I could never get them on the phone or speak to the manager. Really hard to get a hold of staff unless you go into the office during business hours.

This place is absolutley horrible! To start, I’m paying over $1200 for a small 1 bedroom apartment. I figured if I spent that much it would be a nice place to live. It’s not. Ever since I moved in, EVERYTHING has broken in my apartment. Every light has gone out, the blinds fall and break every time I touch them, my AC unit broke, shower doesn’t stay cold, garbage disposal shall I go on. I’ve had to have maintenance here constantly diruspting my peace. The last time they were here they left a huge hole in my wall THAT THEY STILL HAVENT FIXED, left my entire apartment covered in a thick layer of dirt and sit from the work they did. The floor is stained and everything in my laundry room is ruined and covered. The office staff is rude and plainly doesn’t care. I’ve reached out for help but have gotten nothing. Also on Labor Day weekend when everyone is home from work, they decided to schedule people to work on the roof... at 9 am and all through out the day when people are home from work. BEYOND inconsiderate. I am absolutely dying for my lease to end so I can move from this hell hole. They force you to pay $25 a month for trash valet, but you can’t barely throw anything away or they won’t take your trash and leave notes on your door. The grill at the pool doesn’t work. I mean I could right a book on things that don’t work at this complex.

Dont Move Here! Ignore all reviews before 2015. In late 2014 they changed office staff – and everything is falling apart. Upkeep is horrible. Gym is always breaking down or equipment missing. On weekends the overcrowded pool areas resemble a frat party with loud twentysomethings taking over from everyone else. The cooking grills have been disgusting and unsafe for years, management makes promises – then does nothing. They try and gouge you financially at every turn. Hidden fees in the monthly bills. Whopping 10% and higher increases in lease renewal rates are not uncommon. They keep trying to push “refurbished apartments” on everyone – if you don’t go for it – they will just keep raising your rent. Yet they treat you like a leper when you ask for a repair. Please do your homework before moving here and check out other reviews online at Apartmentratings.

I totally agree with the with the Anonymous Poster. DO NOT MOVE HERE!Management did change in 2014 and the place has been going down the drain ever since. Agree about the pool and grills. Over July 4th the frat boys were throwing a football over the pool with no concern for others around/in the pool, drinking and being very loud! Not a good place for kids at all. Before this management company took over there was a Courtesy Officer who would handle this type of thing as well as noise issues after quiet hours but that was the first thing to go away. Tennis court still closed; workout room has no air conditioning (had to order a part - a month ago/June 2015). The 10% increase is a ploy to try and make you feel like you get a deal when they lower the increase to 5%. All done low voices or after consulting the Manager - I guess they think we are pretty stupid. There are 5+ new apartment complexes going up within 5 miles with brand new everything and much cheaper! One is just across the interstate. They charge $10 per pet, per month! I was not happy about the $20 extra I had to pay before management changed but at least they kept the pet stations stocked and the garbage emptied and the maintenance guys always had time to give your dog a treat and to say hello. Now, the bags run out and you have to buy/carry your own. They could not be bothered to empty the garbage in the dog park before July 4th weekend and it was overflowing already on the Thursday before. I reported it but it was not changed until the Monday after the 4th. YUCK! Not the first time it has happened. Most of the maintenance guys are gone now - I think they moved with the old management company. I have only had one issue with maintenance inside the apartment and the new crew did respond within 24 hours. The office staff (they are all new too) are polite but mostly incompetent (or over worked). You have to call several times to get them on the phone and often they say they cannot help - pool, grills, garbage, etc.DO NOT MOVE HERE!
