I had spent a year at the Woods Townhomes, and I totally recommend it! All of the staff are very kind and conversational, maintenance is punctual and ensures everything is taken care of, and the neighbors just as friendly! Its convenient in terms of location, and easy to get comfortable in.
After I paid my application fee, I never heard from them again- despite calling them over and over about my application status. Don’t get ripped off by them, it’s a scam.
At a complicated time during the Covid crisis and in a tough rental market, this company was a total RELIEF to find. Thank you!
They couldnt help me
WNC Rentals runs the apartment complex I lived in for three years; Im not sure if they have other properties, but this is my review of The Woods on Merrimon Avenue. The apartments are extremely affordable for such a great location and condition. The main office was always incredibly pleasant to deal with, and the maintenance guy was always friendly, prompt, and helpful. You can easily walk to places like Luellas BBQ, Homegrown, the UNCA running trails, Asheville Pizza Company and Brewery and, if youre up for a bit of a trek, you can walk downtown. For the incredibly affordable price, I doubt youd able to find something better in Asheville.
The office staff was always helpful and kind. The place we lived was safe and quiet and all maintenance requests were answered in a timely manner. Great experience
I just moved in this year of 2015 in January and it is now March 27 2015. I was looking for a place that was very close to my work, my family, to restaurants, to shops, to pubs and I couldnt have asked for a better spot then right on Marrimon Avenue. I needed a place that was reasonably priced since I live alone and found that most places are EXTREMELY high, but this place is by far the best price for its location. My last place was great for location but not price and each year i lived there they went up $100.00 on rent and The Woods promised the IF they went up on rent it was the highest of $25. This assured me that I could afford to live here for years and years to come. Im am pleased with the town-home style instead of one floor which makes for more space and privacy. Plus there are so many windows and very little carpet!! Yes the home has a lot of character since it was built in the 50s, but I love its older style and imperfections. I find it to be very Asheville! Another thing I love about the Woods is my property manager communicates very well, asks for permission to enter my home, and is just so nice in general! The maintenance crew is AWESOME and QUICK to fix every issue Ive had. Ive never experienced that anywhere I have rented before. Lastly when you move to a new area you tend to worry about your neighbors, but I have found that I live around very kind people of all ages. I even see men and women walking with their children up and down the street which makes me feel that Im in a safe place. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who isnt looking for high end expensive living and close to everything a person needs.
I lived at The Woods, WNC Rentals Merrimon Ave property, for two years and loved everything about these apartments! You really cant beat it for affordability, location, and charm in Asheville. The office staff and maintenance team are helpful, kind, and 100% responsive to all our needs. The apartments are well-maintained and situated in a cute, safe neighborhood with plenty of sidewalks, and you can access the UNCA hiking trails and greenway with just a short walk. I have recommended these apartments to many friends and will definitely continue to do so.
Dont be fooled. Carol Ann Winter is actually the worst possible landlord one could ever have. Just ask around. Also, she has the bad reviews deleted, like this one, which I know from personal experiences as well as from what a handful of her other past tenants have told me.
I loved renting from you
