I had gotten laser hair removal done in Florida a few years ago and had minimal results so I was very picky when choosing a place here in the DMV area. Upon meeting Sue, she explained everything to me and ensured I was familiar with the process. During the laser session, she also makes you feel comfortable. I have completed 2 out of my 5 treatments and am already so impressed with the results. While everyones hair and skin may react differently, I have barely had any hair growth between my appointments. Initial consultation was very unprofessional. In a hurry to make a sale. Showed very little interest in me as the client. Spent most of the time talking about how good she was at what she does and even insulted me by asking, I am surprised you have not done something about your problem before now. Perhaps the worst was expecting new clients to sign consent for treatment BEFORE explaining the procedure and services.

I first became a client when I was living in NC (5 hours away). I would schedule an appt when in town for meetings and found equipment and knowledge of both Sue and Liz unmatched. I was thrilled to move back to the area and expand my treatment areas. Sue is hands down the most educated and passionate laser hair removal expert in the area. I was badly burned at another local supposedly reputable spa and Sue offered comfort through thorough explanation of what had happened to me. Additionally her integrity was made clear when I asked her if she would continue treating the area and she decline due to my personal safety. She could’ve said yes and taken my money but she is so honest and truly holds herself and Capital Laser to the highest ethical standard. Sue and Liz are both wonderful, I think the preference for who to do your treatments comes down to your own personality. Sue gave a great consultation but she does talk quickly with a lot of sales pitches. Shell slow down and answer your individual questions if you make them known. Same thing in treatment, Sue moves very quickly. Shes been doing this for years so I understand her comfort with the laser, I personally prefer Lizs more methodical approach. I feel like my areas are more carefully treated. I appreciate Sues efficiency but prefer Lizs speed.I am rating this 4 star for their client readiness. Out of my 5 treatments thus far, 4 appointments Ive had issues with their documentation of my treatment area. Each client gets a folder with a diagram with the treatment area but it doesnt seem like they look at it (at least not mine). Ive had to remind them in 4 appointments of the areas that Ive paid to be treated. They have a seemingly full schedule but it isnt so crazy that a glance at the chart is out of reach.

Ive been really really happy with my experience here. I would highly recommend to others! Im seeing great results and appointments are always super easy and efficient, Im usually in and out in 20 minutes. I also really like the online booking system which makes it easy to make an appointment every six weeks without having to schedule them all in advance and then do the endless rescheduling that always seems to require.

Staff is knowledgeable and answers questions about the laser hair removal process. Session packages are well priced for services provided and they run specials. Office is clean and easy to get to right off the metro.

Ive gotten treatments several times at Capital Laser and it has always been a positive experience. The hair on my lower leg (the treatment area) began falling out on its own in the weeks following the treatment. I am very happy with the results and plan to go back soon.

I started in maybe March? February? One of the two. Went for 6 months, once a month basically and it was fine and seemed to be working well til COVID started in full swing. My hair is just like it used to be, after 600$ and 6 treatments. Full, thick and black hair on my armpits. When COVID restrictions started, the lady who did my armpits did not do a good job. She made me breathe in the opposite direction (which didn’t make a difference) and didn’t spend nearly as much time on the area that needed to be lasered. I’m extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with this experience and I wish after spending so much money that it had actually been taken care of. I fully understand working in customer service right now is hard, as I myself works in a coffee shop, but if you aren’t going to do the job well, then don’t bother being open.

I dont understand why Google is deleting my reviews.I dont usually post reviews, but felt compelled to do so following my experience with Capital Laser and Sue. Several years ago, I decided to try laser hair removal as a result of a thick beard and unsightly ingrown hairs on my face. Shaving was difficult, and not shaving wasnt an option given the need to look professional for work and graduate level study purposes. Within a couple or few hours of shaving, I would suffer from unsightly razor burn, which would only get worse as the day wore on and especially during the hot, humid summer months DC is known for. I exhausted every option -- all the lotions, creams, shaving devices, exfoliating, visits to dermatologists, EVERYTHING -- before settling on laser hair removal.Before trying Capital Laser, I initially was undergoing treatment at a physicians office. He estimated that I would need about four to five treatments, but over eight to ten treatments later, all I had to show for the time and money were numerous patches / stripes of hair on my face (bizarre looking if I went one day without shaving) and some small scars from the blisters received from the treatments. Following a treatment (always scheduled for a Friday), I would not leave my house all weekend due to the puffiness of my face and possibly some blisters. I almost gave up. My situation was honestly worse than before trying laser.After realizing that I had to try someplace else in order to treat at least some of the remaining patches and stripes of hair on my cheeks and chin area, I found Capital Laser. I was extremely hesitant at first, but between Sues confidence that she could help me and with her encouragement, I agreed to try at least one session. After a single session, I was sold! I have completed treatment with Sue and pop into her office a couple of times a year now for maintenance (hormones dont stop). The results are incredible! Not only is my skin clear, but following any treatment I could go to work and even out that same evening with friends. Aside from a slight pinkness that subsides after about 20 minutes following treatment, you cannot tell I had any procedure done earlier that day. No blisters, no puffiness, and the patches and stripes are gone. Sues office is clean, welcoming, the prices are fair, and both she and her staff have been extremely kind and sympathetic to the situation. The experience and response to the treatments I have thus far with Capital Laser is the experience and response I was hoping for/expecting when I first decided to try laser hair removal to deal with my ingrown hairs. Sue clearly is an expert at what she is doing (as you will come to learn after a consultation with her and from the many certificates on her wall) and I am so very grateful to her for her help. Life changing.If youre considering laser hair removal, I dont think it can get any better than this...

I normally don’t write reviews and I sat on writing this one for a WHILE because I really dislike writing bad reviews. However today I finally decided to just go ahead and write it since the problem on my skin has persisted for so long.The first few sessions went wonderfully! I was noting less hair on my face and my skin tolerated the procedure really well. I always had the same tech for the first 4 sessions. However on my 5th treatment, I had a new tech and she essentially burnt my face with the laser settings. I had red streaks on my cheeks. She panicked and called the person in charge and she put cool napkins on my face and cream. I went home not too concerned but then the red streaks persisted and then eventually progressed to dark brown streaks. It’s been over a year and it’s still there...just stay away if you value your face. They need to train some of their techs better. She obviously did not use the correct settings.

I checked around and compared with a few other places in a similar price range and found that they had the best reviews. They also gave me a discount for referring a friend! Unfortunately I’ve been to this place more than once, and recommended ppl to it, but I realized that the way that lady treat/talk to people is not professional at all. I just went for my third appointment and I am extremely satisfied with the results and the kindness of the staff! I’m currently going for my underarms and Brazilian and shocked how after only two sessions how little I have to shave. I have gotten laser removal before but never these kinds of quick results. Every time I go into the office I’m seen immediately and the staff make you feel comfortable even though you are sprawled out naked. I compared many other businesses before choosing capital laser and I found their pricing to be competitive and with the deal I got I am extremely satisfied. The only con I have is the lack of parking but it is downtown DC so it is to be expected but make sure to leave early so you have time to circle around for parking.

I’ve had a great experience with Capital Laser. My first consultation was quick and informative, and everyone I’ve spoken to has been very friendly and helpful. The offices are simple and clean, and I felt very comfortable while getting my treatment. When I was unable to get to an appointment because of travel delays they were very understanding.

I went to Capital Laser based off of the reviews and have not been disappointed. After 1 treatment, I already saw major changes (ie: not having to shave every day/ minimal hair growth). I was skeptical about laser hair removal before but now Im 100% sold on it due to how effective even 1 treatment can be and how much easier it makes life for women who have thicker hair growth. I dont know why I didnt do this sooner. Compared to other places I consulted in the area, the whole process took about 5 minutes and was relatively painless and I have a low pain tolerance. Other places quoted 20-30 minutes and people reviews mentioned experiencing pain like a burning snap feeling, which I didnt experience at all. Not to mention Capital Laser offers a way more competitive price than others (which was an awesome surprise and not something I realized beforehand). Sue, the owner, is charming, funny, and so cute! She explained the process in detail and explained how the technicians experience and the quality of the laser is what makes for the best results. Im going back to do other areas of the body before I move overseas and have told all my friends about the experience.10/10 would recommend :)

1/2 off packages 1/2 off service. She delivered 1/2 of the results. I thought I was getting a good deal but guess not even being a perfect candidate. Also expected better service like maybe a cold towel instead of a bunch of paper towels soaked that are placed on you after the laser. Sue is also very very pushy sales person, you feel bullied into getting a service here.

Wow- even if I tried, I couldn’t come up with enough praises for Capital Laser. I first attempted laser hair removal when I was in high school back in California. As someone of Middle Eastern descent, I have incredibly dark hair, which consequently led me to become self-conscious about both the amount of hair I had and its overall noticeability. However, the first laser center I went to ultimately proved to be ineffective, so when I first decided to give Capital Laser a try, I was a bit skeptical at first. However, the experience was so incredible and so far exceeded my expectations that I wish I weren’t moving out of the area soon, because I would definitely return to have Sue and Liz laser the rest of my problem areas! I went in for my first session in December (chin and upper lip), and by the next scheduled appointment in January, I already noticed a dramatic reduction in my hair growth and appearance. By the third session, the dark hairs that lined my entire chin were all gone, and the fourth and fifth sessions were almost unnecessary because of how ridiculously minimal the hair growth had become by that point. As someone who had to pluck her chin on an almost daily basis (which would cause bruising to the skin, thereby only making me more dissatisfied with my facial appearance) and get her upper lip waxed at least once a month, the work done by Sue and Liz at Capital Laser was absolutely instrumental in restoring my self-confidence about my face; no longer do I look away when talking to someone or try to draw attention away from my smile! Beyond the impeccable quality of the service Capital Laser provides, they are also transparent and honest with each and very client who walks through the door. When I sat down with Sue for my consultation, she informed me that she doesn’t treat anyone who doesn’t have hair that is thick or dark enough because she wants people to be able to walk away from the experience with successful results. I normally dont write reviews but since I have been dealing with laser hair removal for more than 7 years now, and I have always been frustrated with results and pain, I must say that Capital Laser IS THE PLACE TO GO! Capital Laser provided the best laser hair removal services. Sue is wonderful. She educated me on the process, her background/experience, and was honest about the results she could provide for me. Customer service is excellent! Sue truly cares about her patients and will be honest about the results feasible. I was skeptical of getting laser hair removal at first because I was worried about it not being effective or causing burns. But I went in for a free consultation, and Sue was so professional. She answered all of my questions, was honest and upfront with me, and did not try to push me to get anything done. After the consultation, I felt comfortable doing the laser hair removal and Im SO GLAD I did. The procedure was quick and painless, I was out in less than 30 minutes, and I dont have to shave anymore! Unfortunately, this is the worst Laser service that I had. They took my money and promised me great results. So-called Sue has lied to me and told me if the results were not good, she would refund me or give and extra session. When I called them to complain about the results, the receptionist told me that Sue is out. I called them back many times later, they never answered my calls. Sue lied to me and disrespected me and didnt listen to my complains. I am so disappointed.

When I first arrived in the DC area, it was difficult for me to trust someone to do laser. I found this practice online and have been a client since 2011. They are always respectful, clean, friendly and efficient. My first time, I had a very informative session to better understand my type of skin and how it would react to laser. I have no complaints and I am happy to come back everytime. I highly recommend it, since they will be mindful of your needs, not overpromise and most importantly treat your skin with the care it deserves.

I dont know why this place is getting such good reviews. Customer service is TERRIBLE--I went in for a consultation for brazillian laser hair removal with the main woman who works there. I told her about my hesitations in getting laser hair removal again. I had done it as a teenage and it did not work at all. She convinced me that laser hair removal technology had changed so much and that I was the PERFECT candidate. She sold me. I had gotten a brazillian wax less than two weeks prior to that consultation, so I was planning on coming in for my first treatment at a future date. She convinced me that I would be fine to go ahead and have my first treatment while I was there in the office for my consultation and that if I felt I needed an additional treatment, she would give me one for free. I agreed. She took before pictures which I thought was weird but whatever. Six weeks later, I arrived for my second appointment and she had scheduled someone else to do the treatment. I explained to her that I would feel more comfortable if the same person who did my consultation was the one who did my treatments and she understood and made that happen. Then, I show up for treatment number three and THE SAME THING HAPPENED! I was furious. And it gets worse - after my five treatments, I wasnt seeing the results I expected, so I told her I was going to take her up on that offer for the free sixth treatment. She said I never said I would do that. I was FUMING! I said I NEVER would have done the first treatment the same day as the consultation having just had a brazillian wax, as the hair hadnt even grown back. After much back and forth, she finally agreed to do it. My results still arent great, but thats a risk you take with laser hair removal I guess. But she is a terrible business woman and absolutely sucks at customer service. Perhaps the most disturbing thing-- she took BEFORE pictures of my brazillian area but NEVER took an AFTER picture and never made mention about deleting the images that she took. Creepy.

I have had 2 sessions so far completed by Sue at Capital Laser and although I just started the process, I can already say that I am SO happy with the results! I had my bikini done and after just one session, I would say that I had about 50% hair reduction. I have been wanting to do laser hair removal for about 4 years now but I was so scared of the pain and I read so many reviews that said it did not work for people and it is quite a large investment so I put it off until I saw that Capital Laser was having a special on their packages so I figured this was a good opportunity to try it and now I am kicking myself that I did not do it years ago! I was even surprised at the level of pain. I am a baby when it comes to pain tolerance and it really wasn’t so bad. I was expecting a pinch or needle prick feeling or even some online reviews mentioned a rubberband snapping feeling but it was oddly more of a quick zap of heat and then it was instantly followed by a cooling sensation. I would say it was the most “pleasant” feeling in the world but really on a scale from 1-10 I would give it a 4, maybe? I just try to focus on the cooling sensation part and then before you know it, Sue is done! The machines Sue use are the best available and I think that is why the pain wasn’t as bad as some people have said that went elsewhere. I just had my second treatment and as most have posted, there was even less pain than the first time. Perhaps because I knew what to expect for round two? Sue is very professional and she knows her stuff! She is the best in the area which is why I will not go to anyone else! She has been practicing laser since it first became popular and she is very honest. She will tell you if you are a good candidate or not. She will not waste your time or money. She could tell I was very nervous my first session and she tried her best to put me at ease. I am so happy that I chose to go to Capita Laser and I am looking forward to completing this package and beginning a new one on my lower legs and underarms!

Great service, effective results. Ive had my chest done, which didnt get all of it but thinned it out nicely, and my neck, which responded amazingly! I wish Id done it years ago.
