Transmission work is never something anybody wants to have to have done, it is also something that is expensive no matter where you go, however buy once cry once, if your going to spend any money on transmission work it might as well be here so it gets done right the first time. As a note, Dave is a very trustworthy guy who is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and honest, he will take care of you and your prized possession. I rarely recommend shops but Van Linns is a place I would feel confident sending anybody.

The people at Fultons/Van Linns are professional and friendly. My step dad has been bringing his cars there for years and highly recommends them. When I moved here, I started doing the same. The prices are competitive and the work is quality!

I brought my jeep in for leaking transmission fluid. After further diagnostics it eventually resulted in replacing my engine. The repair involved a battle with my warranty company to get the repair covered. It was successful! Andrew kept me informed every step of the way and answered all of my naive questions with patience. I called here for a second quote. The first transmission place I called had the car for a day and said it would need a new $4600 transmission. At Van Linns, they wanted to do a formal evaluation themselves for $125 which resulted in finding out I only needed a fluid change and reflash of the electronics. A savings of $4000 for me!Very helpful people.

My check engine light came on and my car was idling roughly so I brought it into Van Linn’s to get checked out along with an oil change. I had an extended warranty on my car and they said they will work with my warranty company to cover the cost of the repair (needed a new intake manifold and valve). Low and behold my warranty company said my warranty is now invalid. So while I’m dealing with that because I know I had another year and 20,000 miles covered from time of purchase, the great guys down at Van Linn’s took care of my car. They were patient while we figured out my warranty issues. They Called many times to try and file a claim when it was promised to be worked out. They kept working hard for me and took care of my car- even housed it over the weekend. Once they got the go ahead to fix the issues from the warranty company, my car was back to me very quickly! The service I receive here is unmatched. Thank you all at Van Linn’s for your excellent customer and vehicle service! I appreciate all you did for me during this debacle!

This place is honest and reliable

I went here for transmission repair and had a fairly good experience. 3 months later my transmission ran out of fluid so I had it towed to Van Linns in hopes of another good experience. Then the real nightmare began. First they broke my ignition cylinder. Then charged me 500 to fix it. Then my electrical for my emf coincidentally stopped working and the wiring was in the same compartment of the wiring for the ignition. They offered to fix it for me for 900 though. They told me that I had a bad wheel bearing and that was true but they put a new one in the wrong side and wrote that I had noisy tires on the receipt. This turned out to be untrue as well because I brought the car to tires plus and gave them opportunity to sell me new tires. They took them off the car and balanced them and checked them and not only were they good but I had over 70% tread left. I found out later that the wheel bearing they said they replaced was from the factory. The reason that I had the car towed there in the first place was the transmission. It was simply out of fluid. They charged me 350 to add fluid and fix the leaks. So I paid my bill and left with a car that now had no heat control in the dead of winter. Four days after getting my car back it started smoking after I started it up. I knew right away that it was the valve housing unit because it happend around 6 month earlier. The good news was it was warrantied because I had Broadway Chevrolet fix it. I had it towed there and they installed a new unit. At that time they informed me of a slow transmission leak. They said it would take a couple months to run out. Anyway this was my experience so buyer beware. They are nice guys but this very well could happen to you.

Dave and the crew there were completely knowledgeable about how extended warranties work and explained the whole process. They kept me informed on the status and cost of the repairs. Friendly and honest service is what you can expect here. I highly recommend this place.

The first time we walked in the door it was a disaster. Dave was very rude to the office girl when she asked him if he would like to talk to my wife about her cars transmission. Than we waited for 7 hours to finally get a call back after we dropped the car off at 7:30am. When Dave called my wife he was very rude and made my wife cry because he talked to her like she was a 5 year old and didn’t know what she was talking about. After that we decided to go bring my wife’s car to JJ’s auto clinic in Neenah because of our whole experience at this place. Never bring your car here unless you want to get talk to very rude and wait around all day to get a call back.

I usually try to do all my repairs myself but with it being winter I chose to have the work done by Van Linns. This was the first time I have ever brought my vehicle in to be fixed. I found Van Linns cared about my vehicle as much as I did and felt that they were the best to fix it. Considering how it was the beginning of winter and every mechanic was busy it was a relatively short wait for me to get the work done considering the time of year. All the employees are very knowledgeable about the work they were performing. Everyone was easy to talk to and explained the work very well. The inside of the building is clean. The prices are very competitive and I would recommend everyone to go here.

Most trustworthy mechanic in the fox valley. Never force unnecessary repairs down your throat like some places. Great customer service. I have taken our vehicles here for the last several years and will not take them anywhere else. Fair prices all around.

I do a lot of my own work, but went to Dave with a job that was over my head after reading reviews on Google. He was very clear in his quote and communicated well with me during the job. I was in town for an Emergency Management conference and my transmission started slipping. Called and got my truck looked at the next day and was fixed the day after for allot less then what I was expecting repairs to cost. They went over my complete transmission and fixed ONLY what needed to be fixed. I would recommend anyone in the area to bring their vehicle to them. They also provide towing and a free shuttle service!

Van Lynns Transmission was able to diagnose the problem we were having with our 08 Buick Enclave which happened to be a worn out part inside of the transmission. We even took it to Bergstroms GM and their answer was to completely replace the transmission! Van Lynns shop is truly unique and rare to find these days. Visiting the Fox Valley area from the east coast with an older SUV, VanLinns serviced my vehicle to make sure it was safe for the return trip. They were very thorough and efficient. I was pleased with the recommendations for future maintenance, as well. And I was surprised with my bill- very reasonable! I will surely use VanLinns as my mechanic when I visit the Fox Valley area again.

They charge so much even for making nothing at all. I called them up and promised to solve my transmission problem for a reasonable and affordable sum I told them that the transmission of my car needed to be changed or rebuilt. They quted $2,200 for a replacement ransmission and $3,500 for a rebuilt one and said would only take a week. After a week, they called me that the $2,200 is not enough and I have to pay more. Noticing problem with integrity, I decided to have my car towed to another shop. The owner still charged me $85. for inspection fee/troubleshooting fee though I told them the trouble in advance. With 2 weeks of lost time and $85 dollars for them doing nothing, it really sucks and their integrity is questionable. They seem to abuse and bleed their customers dry, if ever they still have some.
