Im a single mom and professional with a protected budget but do want to spare on safety. Matthews (on West College) has never failed me and my two daughters. They are priced fairly and they do prompt and quality work. The folks at the counter and the technicians are such good communicators and I never question their input or recommendations.With my household they have earned two generations of customers.

This is the ONLY place I trust to handle and maintain our vehicles and they do so with such care, professionalism and integrity and at the most reasonable prices in the entire Fox Valley.

I have been doing business here for over 20 years. I have purchased many sets of tires, had brake work and alignments done, and I am sure many other things. They are not the cheapest, and it shows. They do first rate work and stand behind it. My most recent visit was simple - remove my snow tires and reinstall my summer tires (which they had stored for me since last fall). After I dropped off my truck and went to work, it crossed my mind to have the tires rotated as long as they were already taking them all off and back on again. Then things got busy at work and I never called to add the extra service. I inquired about the rotation when I returned to get my truck at the end of the day. As it turns out, Matthews has been keeping track of rotating the tires for me. They never said anything about it, it was never an itemized charge, they just kept track of my mileage and evaluated the condition of my tires and did what was right without me even having to ask. What great service! Hats off to Dave and the rest of the Matthews crew!

Great customer service. They were very fast getting the work done. They checked my other tires and told me what still needs to be fixed. The charges are extremely reasonable. Will go back to get the rest of the work done.

Fantastic customer service! Got a flat and they were able to replace it within a few hours.

They have good prices on tires, but their auto service is as expensive as typical dealer prices and their service is subpar. They put the cheap semi-synthetic oil in my truck, despite the fact that the manufacturer specs call for 5w-30 full synthetic. Also needed a coolant line replaced on a turbo; they quoted me $1400, my regular mechanic quoted me $750.

I have been a customer at this location (West College Ave) for years, and have always had consistently excellent service. The staff knows me by name, and always make me feel welcome. I trust them with my vehicles, and know they have the best interests of their customers in mind at all times.

Fast, professional and always friendly and accommodating - Matthews is far and away the best at what they do. They are knowledgeable and flexible and a great value - they dont charge an arm and a leg, they do what needs to get done and dont engage in a bunch of upselling. Id recommend to anyone and everyone!

I took my wifes SUV in for an oil change and regular maintenance, and they got it done fast, checked all the needed systems and parts, and politely provided me with a ride to my office and back again when it was done. Who could ask for more? I wont go anywhere else!

I really like coming to Matthews Tire for service on my vehicle. Even routine maintenance is a chore that I put off sometimes, but they make it pretty quick and painless. Scheduling an appointment over the phone takes just a couple of minutes, and Im always in and out within 30 minutes.

Definitely a hit or miss with service here. I went originally to get a new rim. Had very good service and was treated nicely. They told me it would be 2 days to order a new rim and even put my spare on. The second trip was not so hot. I showed up yesterday morning ready to get my rim replaced and was greeted to a gentleman with a very bad attitude. I can understand not being a morning person but to sware under your breath is somewhat unprofessional. He was visibly perturbed when I told him I was planning to stay until the service was finished. Then after a half an hour or so he told me that they ordered the wrong rim, and it wasnt his problem. I get that mistakes happen but next time I buy tires Ill be taking my vehicle somewhere else. Thanks for the service!

I was extremely disappointed in the service experience. The Audi was fine this time, I had no issues there. Your notes should be able to show you the issues I’ve had in the past. As I was checking out on Monday, the cashier charged me for my service. I noticed that there were notes on my service form (not the one they gave me) that said I had an oil leak, fluid leak, and indicated two more issues. I asked about the issues – he only indicated he could have someone call me with estimates – never heard from anyone. He would have never brought up the issues had I not seen them and asked.I have heard about issues with the service your team provides, and I’ve continued to come back because I purchased my tires there. I have now had 2 bad experiences and I do not intend to make it a 3rd.

Weve been bringing our Ford truck there for some time now. They are great work with and they keep us in the loop on the progress of the work being done. Other places Ive had to call to find out whats going on.Ive recommend them to others.

Ive had two experiences with Matthews Tire & Auto over the past year, and in both cases theyve been OVERLY HONEST in their assessment of my vehicles needs. Both times I asked about getting the tires replaced, while getting other service or inspection done, and both times Matthews advised against tire replacement. Summer 2020, they performed oil change, and told me the tires were good enough, not needing replacement yet. Just this week, they inspected the vehicle and determined there are too many other problems with my older vehicle, to make it worth putting new tires on it, without fixing those other things.So why would I give 4 stars instead of 5, in light of this very honest service? Really because the very problem I hoped to address at both visits, wasnt resolved, which is that my tires leak air needing fill weekly. It seemed that if not replacing the tires, there might have been a way for them to re-seat them on the wheel, or check for why leaking air. I really was ready to buy new tires, to solve that problem, even knowing the car has some other mechanical problems; its been driving around fine for the most part.

Dave and crew got me in for service on my tire pressure sensor system on short notice. They had me in and out of there in less than an hour and the issue has been resolved.

Honest and accommodating!! I took my personal vehicle there and Dave the service writer prioritized repairs needed instead of high pressure sales. That in itself was refreshing.

Since moving back to the area almost 4 years ago, we have not taken our vehicles anywhere but Matthews Tire. They have always treated us right and give excellent advice. In need of new tires, Dave advised me that the tires I wanted were not available but recommended an excellent comparable option. I dropped my car off Monday evening and I received a call by 10:00 am Tuesday that my tires were installed and alignment completed. Great work, great staff and always a great customer experience.

It’s hard to get into Matthew’s Tires (regardless of of which of the three Fox Cities Matthews tires I contact for a simple rotation of tires.Keep in mind that the tires on my vehicle were purchased at one of the three Mathew’s Tires locations noted above.Note: Prior to payment for the four brand new tires purchased, I was repeatedly informed by the sales representative assisting me that is simple tire rotation would be something I would have very little difficult completing. The representative even specifically stated that I would be able to readily complete my tire rotation as you walk in Customer… That is, without a scheduled appointment.Since the purchasing of my tires and the plethora of attempts and energy put forth to get this needed simple service completed Has not only been very time consuming… But also has been very disappointing with regards to the availability… In the excessive amount of time needed before my call for an appointment to the actual booking and completion date.The quality is there… However all three locations within the fox cities area need to come together and reassess the amount of employees present at each service location to help meet the needs of the communities overall.

Very last minute oil change needed for my dads vehicle, they were packed and very busy but pushed his vehicle in and got it changed and taken care of within a couple of hours (82 and new to the area). We have used this place for a long time. We generally trust their work, advice and prices.

They patched one of my tires and did an oil change and tire rotation all for a good value. I also asked they to CHECK my brakes and other fluids but they didnt so I took off 1 star.

My first experience with Matthews Tire was good but not excellent. I called in for a quote on the phone while they were running their buy 3 get the 4th free tire sale. There was a miscommunication over the phone where I was told that a certain service was included in the price they quoted me, and it actually was not supposed to be included. I called in and spoke on the phone with Jason who made the situation right. He honored what I had understood over the phone, even though it wasnt supposed to be included. This is the type of service that makes one location stand out from other service shops. Good job, Jason! The customer service from Amy was not great, but I still will be a returning customer.

I have to say thanks to Jason Laluzerne!! Jason definitely went out of his way to make the rims and tires i wanted on my 88 mustang gt go on and fit right and look awesome! Jason had no hesitation getting his hands dirty out in the shop to make it happen. Jason knows his tires and rims! I highly recommend Jason for any tire and or rim questions and in the future I will be coming back to this location. Great staff, very accommodating to my schedule to get me in asap. Thank you Jason and thanks to the rest of the guys who helped make the cobra rims work!

Mitch at Matthews Tire on College Ave was very professional, polite, honest & courteous. The work was phenomenal. I had problems with two tires leaking air. Turns out, the valves had to be fixed, so they rebuilt them. Expecting to have to buy a set of tires, I was very elated with a zero bill! Matthews rocks! Mitch also came out to my vehicle so that I did not have to go into their waiting area, which I really appreciated.

Food was delicious. Service was great. Beer was ice cold. Fun night

UPDATE 8/5/2020Got a flat in one of the tires. Took to Matthews and they found that the piece of debris was far bigger than I thought and therefor damaged the tire beyond repair. Had the replacement tire in the next day, and the service was done well before business close. A stud broke off while they were removing the spare. I believe this to be from when my roadside assistance tech installed the spare - I think he cross-threaded the nut onto the stud. After going back and forth with the tow company and Matthews, I spoke with Amy at Matthews who was empathetic to my situation. I did not touch the car at any point, and yet it seems Ill be stuck paying for this... was my basic argument. Despite this not being Matthews fault, the tow company was non-empathetic to my situation. Matthews comped the wheel stud part and labor for me, and for that I am incredibly appreciative and grateful. Mitch was also very helpful, and I appreciate the work that this shop has done for me on multiple occasions.Original Review -Fantastic job! Tire Rack install and alignment was performed perfectly, done by the quoted time, no “gotchya” charges... just fantastic service. They were BUSY so be sure to call ahead. Word is out on how great this place is.

They didnt tell me everything they knew which would have allowed me to make an informed decision.I went in for an oil leak thinking it was the valve covers. They fixed the valve covers and didnt mention anything else, just that thats what they believe it was and it should stop the leaking. My car continued to leak, not as badly but still leaking, and I went back in and they gave me a list of about 5 different things totalling about $1400 in ADDITION to the valve covers that it could be? or they knew it was? (Im still not sure). So basically I had already paid to fix what I thought was the end of the problem, but after speaking with the manager, they knew it could have been one of 6 things to begin with but thought they would start with the valve covers. They didnt tell me that. My stepdad called the store because Im young and a woman, so I felt they had already tried to take advantage and wouldnt take me seriously. The manager said he wouldnt have put anything except the timing belt leak on the quote. I can understand 2 different areas leaking at the same time, and thats a $1000 difference. This Matthews is NOT connected to the one in Plover or WI Rapids. I always had good experiences with the Plover one so I went here and the honesty and trust isnt there. I dont know cars very well but I do have enough critical thinking skills to figure that 6 different areas of my car leaking at the same time would be unlikely and luckily didnt spend $1400 fixing them.

I cant recommend Matthews enough. The staff is friendly, professional, honest, and thorough. When I call, they always work to get me in as soon as I need something done on my car, even if it means giving me a ride to work and picking me back up later. One the days when I have time to wait for my service to be complete, their waiting area is clean, comfortable, and accommodating. Especially whens something unexpected comes up outside of routine maintenance, the staff at Matthews always manage to a stressful experience into one that makes me feel like Im being well taken care of by people I can trust to do a good job. Service and how can we help attitude is amazing at the College Ave. shop in Appleton. Several occasions recently where people I know called multiple providers looking for help with tire and power steering problems. Everybody else told them Sorry, this is what you need and itll cost this much. Period.. On both occasions the people at Matthews immediately engaged in helpful and creative problem solving and came up with great solutions and service in record time!

Found out that I had a major puncture in a tire, dropped it off last night and they had it patched up and ready to go to morning.Friendly and helpful. Definitely will go back!

Good service

Very good tire store with impressive building and reception area. Very busy and had to get fast service because of how backed up they are.

The front desk girl was not the best person to deal with customers. Dave and Brian were good. This girl checked me in but got my phone number wrong and never corrected. Overall experience is 2 star just because of rude girl on front desk to deal with customer.

I have been a customer here since 1995. They sell a huge selection of great tires and do a lot of service work on all kinds of cars and trucks. I even had a tractor tire and a wheelbarrow tire repaired/replaced here!

Scratched freshly powder coated rim and argued, interrupted and came up with excuses vs addressing the issue, never OFFERED a refund!The story:This morning I discovered a bead leak on one of my winter tires, needing it quick I needed some where close. That leaves me with Matthews Tire or Tires Plus.Always trying to stay true to local or intrastate companies I went to Matthews... And never again!I pick it up to find the tech over tightened my wheel on the wheel balancer causing deep scratches.When showing the manager of course I was confronted with denial.Ive only two lug mounted the rim once to move the car since being powder coated.Nope, theres no way we did that. Did we take the wheel off?Oh well thats from the lugs thenOh look over here, where its bubbling up, must be the finish.Has this (the finish) even had time to dry?This is a winter rim, I didnt do a perfect prep before it was coated so there are imperfections.Last time I checked powder coating was BAKED on not to mention POWDER, there for never going on wet.After walking out due to my extreme rise in anger, I stepped back inside to demand a refund.Why would I do that?!After he snatched my invoice and doing some computer stuff, I was handed my new invoice with a Theres just no way we did that.
