Love being able to schedule appointments for my sons. Brian cuts their hair and I have never had a complaint about the quality of their cuts. Always on time and after their cuts they get a treat. We have been going here for about 9 years and all 4 of my sons have been clients of Brian.

Friendly and experienced staff. Their workmanship is outstanding. Never had a bad cut. Feels like being amongst friends and family

I went here yesterday expecting to get a great hair cut (bald fade) the barber Keith assured me that he was well experienced. By the end of the cut he pushed my hair line way back to try to make up for widening my edge up on one side. He explained it was due to thinning hair. Ive been getting my hair cut for years and never in my life get a cut that look like what he did EVEN with the thinning hair. He did tell me to come the next day so he can fix, honestly I went to Floyds barbershop 20 minutes after we spoke on the phone to fix it. If you was not sure on how to cut my hair with a thinning side he should have asked how to proceed with the cut or not done it at all Did not even want to go back worst experience ever. I just moved to McKinney from mesquite looking for a black owned barbershop this is not the one if I can give no stars I would. Now I have to wait till it grows back out to get it fixed. I will be definitely be taking the 40 minute trip back to mesquite where I should have. The pic is what Keith did yesterday the other picture is what my hair line use to look like

I called before I arrived to make sure they were open to cuts for hair and beards (beginning of COVID) which they were. So, I made an appointment for first thing because I had an engagement that I was going to straight from. I arrived 15 minutes early and STILL WAITED 30 MORE because he was still catching up with his client even though I explained myself clearly on the phone about my situation. No problem.When I sat down in the chair, I told him lets do an easy trim, and communicated that it should not take long and that I was in a time constraints. It was just ears and back. The man was detailed (expected) and went around my head 3 times. A little while in, I sensed there must be something wrong with his hand-eye coordination so, I stopped talking to let him focus. Still no problem.About 75 minutes later, he was done, he waved the mirror to show me his work. He couldnt keep it still so, I took a quick look and said it was fine. I shouldve taken it from him but, he spent time and I was late. My forehead was crooked and missed SEVERAL hair islands on my face. Luckily at my sales meeting, I ended up arriving early enough to where some ladies approached ME with tweezers.Bonus star because he has a good personality, took his time and looked to have attention to detail.

Best quality I got in Texas. Called up there 9am and I got there at 9:20am was out by 10am. Took there time don’t push back no line up again best work I got since I moved to Texas. This is now my barber shop that I will be going to from now on in Texas.

Long as I been in texas I never heard of this place, but them mens in there is very friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you step foot thru the door, great atmosphere, I definitely will bring my family back to visit.

We just moved to McKinney area from Mesquite in May of 2019. I finally grew tired of driving to my sons their barber in Mesquite. So after some searching for a Black barber shop in our new city, and word of mouth from a neighbor. I brought my boys (ages 6&9yrs young) in for haircuts on this V-Day 2020 and drum roll please............ IT WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, I am highly pleased the gentleman in there were very pleasant and polite but not in fake phony way. Yet in a real way. They take appointments, but I called and Jay said it was fine to walk-in today. We did and both of my little BOSSKINGMEN look handsome as ever, granted it doesn’t take much mines to look great🤩 but I was very very pleased. I know that we have found our new barbershop BLADES & SHEARS they knocked it outta the park for this mama and her sons!!! HUGE THANKS TO YOU ALL!!! See y’all again in about 10 days or so!!!!

After many failed attempts to my sons long-time barber, we decided to search for a new barber. A barber that is closer to home, more reliable and values their client! I Googled and read many reviews before deciding on the one. We were able to find a match and more in Brian of Blades & Shears!Upon entry, we were immediately greeted by Brian and in his chair. My son told him how hed like his cut. I was expecting to camp out, BUT he was done in under 45 minutes with beard! The cut and beard was done perfectly to our liking!Just so you know, the shop looks just like their posted photos. It was clean, large flat TV and friendly atmosphere!Were Team Brian now!

Really like it. Best to schedule beforehand. They do get a lot of business. There are several barbers and your experience WILL vary depending on the barber- so you may have to go in a few times to see which one works best for your particular needs.

This barber shop consistently does a wonderful job on my sons haircut, and they also are very active in the community holding back pack drives for the kids during back to school. lot of talented barbers in there that have good hearts.

I have a super short pixie cut. I could never find a womens salon who could - or would - cut my hair. The last one I tried messed it up really bad. A friend suggested a barber and I found this place near my house. I was nervous to call because so many places had refused to cut my hair as short as I wanted, but I finally did and Reg agreed to help me out. He fixed what was left of my bad cut and came up with a plan to get it where I want it. I didnt even have to tell him what I wanted - it was like he could read my mind! Great guys, very friendly, awesome cuts!

I have visited here twice in the past 2 weeks. Trip and Jay took great care of me. Some barbers have private suites while some work in a more traditional setting.

Dont waste your time. I just came for a simple beard line up. Explained to the barber I was headed to a wedding. He gave me a 2 minute cut and it was uneven. I had to go home and fix his sloppy job. Worst part, I have to wait till this grows out to have it done right.HORRIBLE!

Went to this place refered by a friend. 1,12,17 After reading the reviews and looking at their website I decied to go. after a simple hair cut nothing special about it, the barber charge me $45.00 i honestly told the guy i will never go there again. to expensive and no thing special. please avoid that place

I love this place i moved out here a couple months ago and went through a lot of barbers and a lot of disappointing cuts. H.J. gives me exactly what I want and it looks pristeen. I wont go anywhere else.
