Ive lived in Allen for over 30 years. I wish that I had started frequenting Rods then. It has a great old-timey feel, but the courteous staff is really up-to-date.

Last time i went in they told me Ken had retired, he had not. Ken was been my barber for the past 20 years. He did however move just a little down the road. Like going back in time. Friendly place where you can find a good magazine to read while you wait and have a good conversation while getting your hair cut. Easiest to pay with cash but they do take checks and credit cards under certain conditions which I did not investigate.

My 11 yr old son has had the same hairdresser since he was 2. She has always done an excellent job but got very hard to get an appointment with. We tried Rods and my mind was blown!! Excellent!! We found our new place!!

I decided to try out Rods after going to quite a few different places and getting different results everytime. Im quite happy with my barber now and I have recommend Rods to many people since Ive been going (about 6 months).

This barber shop was recommended to me after my son got a botched haircut somewhere else so I gave it a shot and took my 13 yo and 4 yo boys in. They both got excellent fades here and now its the only location I will take them. My husband and my father in law have visisted after seeing the boys cuts and were satisfied and now my husband is a regular too. Matthew is their go to barber - he always does an excellent job!Pro Tip: Bring cash so you can get the next available/your choice of barber - some of the older fellas wont take a debit/credit card payment.

You cannot beat Rods. One of the few traditional barber shops left. Good conversation, good barbers and you do not have to tell them what number attachment to use on your hair. Tell em what you want and they will get it done and do it right.

After moving Plano 2 years ago, the struggle has been real. Ive had many barbers who provided me unsatisfactory haircuts and after being referred by a co-worker I was very happy finding Rods Barber Shop. Rod and Kenny have both cut my hair and they always take their time and do a great job. So hard to find such great consistency and at an affordable price. I will be a lifer most likely and recommend them to anyone struggling to find a good barbershop.

With the lack of pretense and genuine concern these barbers display, this shop is a place my husband and I are proud to bring our sons! Not only are we always happy with the fresh cuts that my hubby and sons are sporting when they leave but we havent broken the bank! On that note though, please make sure to bring cash considering some barbers dont accept credit/debit.
