I chose Hertz because of the pricing compared to other rental agencies. The staff at the front desk was friendly and we talked about pets.The car however, was absolutely disgusting, I spent over an hour scrubbing the filth out of the car on the first day of wlmy 3 week rental. There were no other options for vehicles so I knew I was stuck with this vehicle. But I did love the make and model, Honda Civic and the car functioned great. I had the car for daily use for 3 weeks and never used half a tank of gas.When I attempted to get ahold of the front desk at the airport to ask about how to turn my vehicle before hours I was never able to reach them. I called multiple numbers and was redirected all over the place. The national hertz number recommended that I call the front desk. Any number listed online for the airport front desk was redirected to the national phone tree. I even found the rental car management office for the airport who gave me a number that would definitely lead me to the hertz desk at the airport, well it definitely did not. It let right back to the national phone tree.After the rental period, the car return process went smoothly and quick.
Its impressive how inept the management of this location is when they run a business based off reservations. They have plenty of advance notice of how busy they will be at any given time of the day based on how many cars are reserved and yet they have one person working the desk and a line of 15 people needing to be helped. Ironic they have their counter decorated with #1 JD Power awards for customer satisfaction, this is not one of those satisfied customers.The man at the counter was polite, helpful, and as efficient as he could be. He shouldnt be put in this position (unless he is the manager).And of course after waiting all that time for my car, it wreaks of smoke. How is smoking still allowed in rental cars?
Pick up was easy and efficient.Drop off was a disorganized mess. No greeting from staff, and when I asked the employee for a reciept before leaving they told me to just leave the car and they would email a reciept.5 minutes later I got an emailed reciept with a $120 charge for fuel even though the tank was full.Luckily I took a photo of the fuel gauge or to prove the gas tank was full, but it is totally unacceptable to have to go back and get staff to fix their billing error while in a time crunch to catch a flight. This location is a racket.
Do not rent a car from this location!! I rented a car on 8/31/21, and returned the car on 9/1/2021 per my reservation. When I returned the car, there wasnt an employee in sight - no one anywhere! I left the car exactly where it was suppose to go, and left the keys in the middle console. I have been getting multiple calls a day saying that I havent returned the car. Each time I call back (total of 4 times so far) I have had to wait on hold for around 30 minutes - telling me Im not the only one having this issue. Ive had to re-explain each time exactly what happened. Inexcusable in this day of computers. Hertz knows the car is there, but this location still hasnt closed my rental record. I am a Gold member, and have been renting from Hertz for years, but thanks to this location, I will never rent from them again! As Im writing this, I just got another automated call from Hertz, even though I just spoke with them 10 minutes ago, and told them to stop calling me. Stay away from this location, its a nightmare you dont want to deal with!
Completely unprofessional.I had reserved and prepaid for a truck. When I arrived, the attendant (Josh) told me that the only vehicle available was a dirty, compact car. I told him Id take the car, no problem, as long as he changed my rate to reflect the change. This was when the trouble started.He said that because I had purchased the reservation through a 3rd party, he was unable to adjust my rate to reflect the change in vehicle. I had purchased the rental through the hertz website. Regardless, he still wouldnt make any changes. He stated he was unable to, which seemed unreasonable. He eventually got frustrated and said I could either take the car or leave because he was done there.Long story short, dont rent from Hertz and if you do, make sure you dont prepay for anything.
Hertz is everywhere these days. This locaton (on Indiana in Riverside California) is the only one Ive been to that doesnt have an after hours key drop or a safe place to leave the car when theyre closed. In todays day n age yall really need a safe option for after hours return of rentals.
The car we rented was bare bones as far as amenities- no map function at all, which makes for tricky navigation using your phone. It would not connect with our Bluetooth, either, so we could not listen to our own music or have the map cue us through the system. But whatever- it was adequate.Once we returned the car, two days later a charge for $237.04 shows up on my credit card. The rental had been paid in full prior to us taking it, to my understanding, so before I pay this bill, I would love to know what I am paying for! I left three or four messages about this and have not received a call back. Never got through to any person. I am currently on a brief hold (9.5 minutes so far and counting...) with another Albuquerque Hertz location hoping that they can take a look at my rental and tell me what the charge is for. (11 minutes and holding still). I dont think I will rent from Hertz again after this.
Be careful while getting a car from these scammers. I had a Mustang for 3 days. The return date/time was Aug 2, 2021 by 10 PM. I returned the car on Aug 2, 2021 at 8:57 PM (I have video evidence). They are so stupid and they said on the invoice that I returned the car next day morning. Because of these idiots and their own mistake, I am still calling back and forth to fix it. Absolutely horrendous car rental experience here. Longtime customer, presidents circle member. This location is the worst Hertz I’ve ever rented from - and that’s probably near 100 locations worldwide. They refuse to answer the phone - called 10 times and left voicemails, no response. Upon pickup was treated very poorly by Danny in the pickup lot/gold circle. No attempt to help get us what we needed and spoken to rudely. No help at the counter either. This location is a disaster. Went over to budget and had the complete opposite experience. They simply don’t care here, nor will corporate. But I am in hopes others will see this and avoid this place. Hertz lost a lifelong customer today.
I would give 0 stars if I could! I have been overcharged by this company and no one wants to call me back from customer servicr OR answer the phone when I call the desk. I was charged for a gas cap on a car that does not come with one (per the make and model of the car) AND I was assessed a $300 fee for the car smelling like cigarette smoke WHEN I HAVE NEVER SMOKED A DAY IN MY LIFE! No one meets you when you return the car, even if you ask if someone is supposed to come look at it. And this sMoKiNg ChArGe was assessed days after Id already returned the vehicle! No notice, no receipt, no NOTHING. No way to argue it until you check your credit card statement and see it charged there. I am LIVID and will not rest until someone makes this right. DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ!!
Do not rent from this location past 10 PM. Even though we were told there would be service after 10 because hertz had our travel itinerary, we are now sitting at a closed location with no way to leave with a car. Completely unprofessional. Over 10 people here with no explanation of why we are left without service. RIDICULOUS!
Worst experience Ive had with renting a vehicle, 2 vehicles broke down and when at office the guy helping us thought we was bothering him eating the whole time there, asked for a manager said none there told we was stranded for hours and we tried calling office he said we dont answer the phones here. Very poor customer service and we still did not receive the vehicle that we booked for our trip. Missed a balloon trip and lost money guy just said make a claim with hertz i asked about my uber trip ii had to pay for it to pick up my replacement vehicle. Just chuckled when I said something. I called corporate and no response and they charged me for exchanging the vehicle a fee that i should not been charged for since it was there vehicle broken down. Called this morning to say our cars computer was reporting we had a low tire. After being on hold for 40 minutes they said to drive it to a gas station and get it filled. Went outside and it was flat. Called again. They said theyd send someone over in 30-40 minutes. That was 3 hours ago. Called again, got forwarded and then voice mail went through an infinite loop. So we had the car long enough to drive to the hotel, drive to breakfast the next day. So weve lost a day. We just called AAA.
They put me in a truck. Im in The Presidents Circle, so I asked for a different car. They put me in a fancy Chrysler 300. The ladies were very nice and professional. The experience was pleasant. I skipped the long line & went right out to the outside board desk. Great experience. 10/2/19: When I dropped off the car, the staff were wonderful. Easy walk to the free shuttle bus to the airport entrance. It is a 5 minute ride to & from the airport entrance, & I saw 2 shuttle buses running. Another great Hertz experience.
Extremely easy to pick up and drop off your car. Granted we are a Gold Member but I think it would be pretty easy for everyone.
I have called this location eight times now trying to make adjustments to my rental. I have never gotten an answer and I have not gotten any calls back. I will be speaking to somebody directly when I arrive and would like to let All Google review checkers know that you will never get through to this location and they will not call you back. Check their yelp reviews. Absolutely frustrating and horrible customer service that I haven’t even received yet. I will not rent from this location again.
Reserved a 7 seater 4 weeks in advanced, arrived at hertz to pick up the vehicle and they only had a 5 seater available for us and no other option. We pre paid so they would NOT give us our money back so we could shop at another company AND they would not even discount our rate even tho we received a much smaller vehicle then we paid for. While trying to navigate this situation, customer service was the worst Ive ever received. I tried to speak to a manager but customer service told me she was in another building and couldnt be reached. Never again.
Well lil upset, called them before leaving made plans to rent a car, then when we get there, we are told they needed a days notice before we can rent a car. Wouldve been nice if they mentioned it when we called them. Upsetting took almost 40mins to get there and 40 more mins to get back home. Augh!
Worst ever in 40 years of renting cars. Gave me car and refused to give me discount of 20 % which Hertz advertised. SUV was hail damaged and had scratches all over the SUV. They refused to give us another car and the lady that inspected our vehicle screamed at us. While driving the vehicle I noticed the wheels were moving funny on the highway. I could barely keep in my lane. When I got off the highway and turned the right wheel made a god awful noise and I wondered i felt lucky it didn’t fall off on the highway. I am returning it today and will never rent from Hertz again. There is no one to cal to bring a car here because all I get is an automatic mailbox. Worse service ever for any company I have ever received.

What a complete joke of a Hertz airport rental site. We arrived at 10 pm but after bags and shuttle, we arrived to the off-site rental location at 10:30 pm only to find out they are closed. All other rental companies open but Hertz. I promise you its a never ending nightmare to be left at a rental location as a gold member with no out or ride with two children and my wife. No uber or lyft available and all the family luggage sitting on the curb. I even got a message from Hertz itself on my phone at 10:05 pm saying just grab your car and go. Unbelievable.....WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

If I could put NO stars then for ratings, then I would. The Rep Scott is absolutely the worst. He got upset because I didnt remember the milage on the car, when I turned it in. Rep Scott had a attitude with me, all while I was there. What he didnt know, was that my husband was on the phone with me, at the same time. This was our first time, renting from Hertz. We always use Enterprise. My husband called Hertz when I got home, talked to another Rep, who had a attitude with my husband. Before I could leave, Scott started arguing with another customer, screaming at this customer, because the customer forgot and left the keys in the car. We plan to do everything we can, to NEVER USE HERTZ AGAIN. And since Im a Military Wife, I will tell all of my friends, to NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY.
Gold plus member treated horribly by the Thursday night staff. Got a call from an unlisted number telling me they wouldn’t honor my reservation as I’m headed to the airport. I then Called the ABQ hertz number and was told they had plenty of cars. Went to the desk and was treated horribly. She wouldn’t even give me her name. I had two confirmed reservations they wouldn’t even honor one of them. She kept blaming Jason the area manager. But wouldn’t provide any other solutions (like when a car might become available). I counted over 40 cars in the lot. There are 5 other locations in the area as well...
Checking in was pretty simple. It’s always a little slower than you think it should be, but no hiccups. Got a compact car, only had a few to choose from, but we selected a Hyundai Accent. Great little car. This car had been around the block a few times and had some bumps and bruises as well as remnants of old tape on the doors.When leaving and doing the final paperwork at the gate, I mentioned I was concerned that we were not doing a walk through. I did not want to be responsible for any of the damage that was currently on the car. The man at the gate assured me that all of those things were already noted for this particular vehicle, but without seeing any paperwork how was I to know for sure? I went ahead and kept going with the rental anyhow. When I turned it in they did not say anything at all about the items I just described. I’m assuming they are looking for more major damage, but I have rented cars where they do inspections over every little scratch. In the end it all worked out great.We Really liked the car and I felt like we got it for a great rate. Drip off at the airport was super easy too. We dropped it off, got an emailed receipt and jumped right on the shuttle to the airport. Easy peasy.
Located a shuttle bus ride away from the airport. Its on the right side of the car rental center which also houses other car rental agencies.Cant miss the big Hertz sign inside through the windows.Walk right straight to the Hertz lot and choose your car based on your group assignment. Not much selection of autos though lots of Hyundais. Rented a base Nissan Altima 2018, relatively new with less than 1960 miles which was nice.Traffic was ok when returning the car.Service was good.
My husband and I took the Amtrak train to Albuqueqe, NN. We rrented a car from Hertz from the Amtrak hertz station, and were told we would pick our car up from the train station. We got to town at 3:30 only to find there is NO hertz at the train station. We worked until 6:30 to get a car to the airport where we were told, oh yeah we used to offer Amtrak service but because of covid we dont anymore. WHY does their webpage falsely say they do offer the services? Oh and they will let us have our rental but we have to return it to the airport and pay for another Uber to get back to the train station. False advertising doesnt not even cover what this is!!

We had a pretty complicated experience. However the employee that helped us at this location (Susan) was absolutely amazing. She was beyond nice and despite it being the absolute middle of the night she did everything in her power to make everything go smoothly especially since we were renting a car for the first time. 10/10 best customer service I’ve ever experienced and I’ve been in retail and hospitality. Susan deserves a raise.

My family and me being from Farmington had to travel all the way to the Alamo Rent a Car in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the International Sunport Airport in that city due to the fact it was suppose to be less expensive, and which took over 3 hours due to bad weather and once we got there we got a surprise of a added 300 dollars deposit which increaed the amount for the agreed $200 to $500, and we had to accept due to the fact it was late at night during a pandemic, so everything else was closed and we did get a nice car, and our deposit back once my father and brother arrived at the car rental site at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and turned in the car but the fact of the matter is that they did something this and use the Global Pandemic of Covid-19 to get away with it and sure I could have waited and maybe this wouldnt have happened but it still doesnt make it right in my opinion and I hope that anyone and everyone can agree.
Made a reservation, flight arrived at 9:45pm, included flight info in reservation, came straight from baggage claim to Hertz and theyre closed and tell me Im out of luck. No Ubers or lyfts available. In my past other companies would wait shortly past closing if a flight arrived near closing time, not this place.
Pick up experience was awesome, unfortunately return is not. I returned car on time, on the return point was no one at that time. But there was a sign, leave you key in a car and we will send you a receipt via email. I did it before and didn’t have any issues until now. Next day I got a receipt, where I was charged for one additional day plus insurance for that day that is $100. I called to customer support and they promised me to do investigation. Today I noticed, hertz charged my card and with $100 more. Be careful!

Due to weather we needed to go from Santa Fe to Albuquerque. There was absolutely no problems or questions when returning the vehicle. Highly recommend Hertz for renting a vehicle in New Mexico.
Great experience with this Hertz on a recent business trip. Picked up the car late around 10pm. Very pleasant woman who advised me I didnt even need to check in with her as a gold member, which Ill remember next time. Everything is organized nicely and returning the car was a breeze as well.

Your agent Did Not clearly explain the prepay for gas option. As a result my bill was over 50 more than what I signed for and I brought the car back with over 3 over three-quarters of a tank full. Had I realized clearly the impact of prepaying I would have just filled the tank before I got to the airport. In all probability I will not run from Dollar Thrifty or Hertz ever again. I am an avid traveler and now that my son has just moved to Santa Fe New Mexico each of my adult family members will be traveling down here on the regular basis. And we will not use your services.

Great Rental Experience - our vehicle, 4x4 Ford Explorer was parked and ready for us with keys. The Explorer was frugal with gas and had excellent performance suitable for traveling to our various destinations. Turn in was a easy process and just had to leave the keys in the car and the receipt emailed. All Hertz personnel were courteous, helpful and professional.
Customer service agent was rude and condescending when I went to pick up the rental from the ABQ Sunport location. She was very pushy when trying to upsell the insurance and acted as though we were inconveniencing her with our questions. We tried calling multiple times with questions and could never get through. The vehicle itself was fine, but the customer service was lacking. We will not be renting with Hertz again.
All companies had no rental cars. We had to take an uber to an off site location to get a car.
Can not say enough about the awesome service we received from Ashley on 4/5/2018. She went above and beyond to take care of us. The prices were fair and upfront. We really liked that we were not mislead with a bunch of hidden fees and plan to use Hertz in the future.

Just landed here at airport, I had reserved and paid for rental car ahead of time only to find they wanted a major credit card on hand which I didnt have. You guys couldve said that before hand. Never again will I deal with you clowns.

Had a great experience, I let them know at the time of booking online that I was under the age of 25 and there were no surprise fees at the counter. If anything it was a little less than what I expected to pay at the counter. I loved being able to select the car of my choice (whatever was available) and not just be given a car. Overall will definitely be renting again.

Last Tuesday evening, I flew into the Albuquerque airport. As a long-standing Gold customer, I had utilized my Gold points to rent a car for a week of sight seeing in/around New Mexico and a return to Arizona. The car that was assigned to me was a piece of junk - it had been badly damaged in a hail storm and after driving it for less than 24 hours, the engine warning light came on. I called the Hertz Emergency line and was told that the gas cap may be loose. After tightening it, the warning light was still lit, so I returned it to the Hertz office at the airport. The Hertz representatives - 2 women in the GOLD office - were unbelievably rude. I just wanted to get a decent car and be on my way, but I was told I could NOT pick a car from the Gold isle because it was part of their fleet and these were not eligible with my GOLD point usage. THIS WAS NOT CORRECT!! I should have called the GOLD Presidents Club right away, but I just wanted to begin our trip. I have communicated with Hertz since my trip was completed, but this whole inconvenience should NOT have happened. STAY AWAY FROM HERTZ AT THE ALBUQUERQUE AIRPORT!!! MY ROAD TRIP WAS GOOD, BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ALOT BETTER HAD I BEEN PROVIDED with A DEPENDABLE CAR INITIALLY AS I SHOULD HAVE BEEN..!!!................ !!! Great experience with Hertz ! Pick-up was extremely FAST and the customer service agents happily switched the car I was assigned to a different one that I requested. Although it had hail damage they said not to worry as they photograph all the vehicles prior to sending them out for rental - that was a relief !

DO NOT RENT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!This is the worst car rental experience of my life. I rented a car to get to my grandmothers funeral on Friday the 7th. The Customer Service was great when I arrived. I was told the total amount would be honored with my online reservation I made for $89.80. (Btw I reserved a small truck and given a two door coupe). I was in and out of the location in no time. I returned the very next afternoon around 4:30pm two hours before the car was due back. No issues! I topped off the gas tank before hand and arrived to an empty deserted return lot with no greeting or direction of what to do next. I found the Hertz office in the middle of the return lot and went inside to hand the key over to the Customer Service employee there. He assured me he would take care of the rest by emailing me the final receipt and looking over the vehicle for $89.80.As a whole week passed my credit card was never charged. However, not one, BUT Three $100 separate charges pended until a whopping $514.16 was charged back to me!!!
My wife and I were charged about twice the amount we were quoted. The rental was about $600.00 without tax and when everything was said and done the bill was just under $1200.00. We were charged for a week and one additional day for four days of rental. To top it off my wife was rudely coerced into getting the insurance and roadside assistance. Beware of this location!
Everything worked like its supposed and they didnt mess anything up this time. Booked online with USAA discount. Upon arrival, easy ride to Rental Car Center, car waiting right where carfirmation text said it would be. It was vehicle I wanted, easy exit, easy return, good signage around airport. No mistakes on e-bill.

I would give zero stars if possible! Joe the heavy set man at the (Albuquerque airport location on University) that works here was very mean starting with when he couldnt find my name in the system. He became very agitated and frustrated and used a mean tone with me. When I told him I didnt like his tone he told me he was DONE WITH ME! I realized I had made the reservation at the wrong location and he said he could not help me by transferring it to his location. I left in tears as I had just got done traveling 12 hours to get there! I will never use Hertz again!!!! This man should not be in customer service!!!
The worst car rental experience Ive ever had. I would recommend to avoid go to this location as possible. The staff Angelica was the worst customer representative. She was yelling at me and even cancelled my reservation at the end.I prepaid for a two days rental online. The staff there wanted to charge me $80 extra for young drivers fee even though I have AAA membership which it should be waived. The front desk staff Angelica wasnt been helpful at all and she cancelled my reservation without my permission. So I had to go to another company the last minute. Fortunately, I found Alamo right next door and they got me a deal for $70 less than what Hertz wanted me to pay. Ill never return to Hertz again if they have this kind of customer representative.

Hertz Gold in the way to go. Ive never had a problem. The car is always there, and when I bring it back theres never a glitch. I recommend it to anyone who will listen to me. Thank you Hertz
So heres the deal. Took my friend for dinner - he dropped me off - drove to the airport and as it happens my phone was still in it. Long story short - I drove to Hertz at the Sunport and the two customer service people there Aleisha - who went to find the phone - Alex - who talked me down (OU Alumni) while I sweated it out - and Susan - who picked up when I called because I had forgotten the names of Alex and Aleisha....ALL WERE TREMENDOUSLY HELPFUL and SUPPORTIVE. Im switching to Hertz because they are doing things right.
After I dropped my car off at the airport Hertz offered take me in the same rental car directly to the airport so I didnt have to wait for a shuttle. Cool service! Tku!
Place was great and attendant was really helpful in giving suggestions on where to go. One of the best experiences doing a car rental Ive had in a while.
Hertz was very helpful and supportive with our recent rental experience. A bit pushy about add ons when first getting the car, but helpful when we needed to exchange a car.
The car I picked out looked like they just filled it up and put it back on the line because when I open the glove compartment there were still brochures in there from the previous renter.Interior was a little dirty but I didnt have time to mess with it.
The manager in Las Vegas was extra helpful in fixing an error in our reservation.
Great first time experience! Vehicle was awesome clean, service was friendly and helpful with all my questions. Not sure I will ever try another agency again.
Would be better if they informed you of the 3rd party insurance offered through thier website that we paid for is not honored by them....also if you pay with a debt card you have to have two forms of Govt issued photo id...we almost could not rent a car!! Very poor comminication
Piss poor service. Left El Paso, Texas with a rental. Air conditioning went out 63 miles out of town. Travelled 20040 more miles after calling road side service to exchange vehicles in Albuquerque N.M. then they offer me a smaller vehicle. I argued with them and still ended up with a smaller exchange. They wouldnt let me speak with a manager either. Then they tell me to wait? What the.....
The people who work there are very helpful but you need 2 forms of identification and the credit card used to rent the car (and no the credit card cant be the second form of id). Also New Mexico insurance for the car is $35 a day regardless of what the website says when you pre-book. Pre-registration is definitely recommended to.
