On the positive side...the agent was very courteous and helpful...BUT make sure you check the insurance policies BEFORE you book. You will need coverage for full replacement value based on NEW vehicle AND loss of use - will charge you for each day can not rent. Basically highway robbery... about 40 dollars a day extra - cost us an extra $441 for 11 days. About half of our annual car insurance for a year...go figure. Of course they dont make this clear upfront when you initially book so you will find yourself stuck when you go to pick up your rental. Recommend you check out other options like Turo.
The worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. After renting on t mobiles website, I tried to rent a car my credit card wasn’t working for some odd reason, I tried to use a debit card because they do allow that and the rep would not assist me. After this I found out that dollar rental wouldn’t give me a refund, I’m still trying to get a refund on this situation.
Came here waited more than half an hour for one customer ahead of us. They seemed to have give reservation for a car they dont have and cannot figure out what to do... Idk... Cant u just upgrade for free or something? Does it worth making all 9 customers wait for more than half an hour?! The line of other rental place moved 10 times taster
I would rate this company with ZERO stars if I could. Pay the little bit of extra money to use another company. I waited almost two hours just to get my vehicle and they charged me a completely different rate from my reservation. I didnt even notice the new price until I got back to me city and saw the rental slip. Almost $300 more than what my contract said. Their rude associate acted like she hated her job and I believe she just disregarded my reservation and made a new one with a more expensive rate without telling me hoping I wouldnt notice. I could go on but I will just say again, DO NOT use this company for your rental car needs. You will be highly disappointed

I have a 6 month rental from dollar for a TDY assignment. The car reservation (compact) was made by the government and came with a free class upgrade. The first car they gave me was a Nissan Altima, which was great, but the plates expired so I had to return it. When I brought it back they refused to accept the upgrade coupon saying it only applied to the first car and since Im switching cars I have to take the downgrade to a smaller car - Im a big guy, my head is almost pressed on the ceiling. - This seems like total BS because the only reason I returned the first car was because they gave me one with expiring plates. Dont rent from these jokers.
Terrible service. Returned my car a week ago and still have my $200 deposit and a $100 hold fee on my card. Trying to call and been on hold for over 20 minutes. Take your business somewhere else.
I prepaid for a rental and when we arrived they denied us the rental and told us to call customer service IF we wanted our refund. Because of this terrible company we are now stranded at the airport
They fail to notify the customer they need a credit card or a return flight to rent a car. The largest car you can rent without a credit card is a full sized car. Then they charge you to cancel because they wont rent to you.
Kind of not cool that they still require a deposit with a credit card but it worked out. Also, I reserved a 4 door standard vehicle but ended up receiving a 2 door mustang then they tried to charge me more money to get a 4 door, also not cool. The only reason I didnt rate lower was because the counter staff was actually very nice despite dealing with short tampered customers. Dollar is def not a revisit for me because of the deposit as well as the uncool switch-a-roo of the vehicle I reserved.
I made a reservation on the phone and specifically gave my flight numbers the time of my arrival at ABQ sunport when asked. The agent said I was confirmed for a rental and that he would send the information by email. Not only was there no email and no car there was no one at the rental car counter. The other companies were sold out. Bad service I would say for a loyal Dollar Express member
CONSUMER BEWARE! BEWARE!I rented a car from DRC for 6 days in 2019: I was informed that my $200 security deposit will be forfeited if it was not returned in 7 days. Car was returned in 6 days. Had to pay an additional $60, to have car towed from 9800 Montgomery Blvd as key was lost in P/Lot.There was no towing services available from DRC. And my $200 +$60 was never refunded although complaint was lodged at that time!This is supposed to be a REPUTABLE COMPANY

If I could give 0 stars I would. We rent cars all the time and this time i figured we would use dollar because they gave us an awesome rate. Boy are they very deceiving. For a 3 day rental it was supposed to be 77.54 dollars with tax. When I went to the counter they offered insurance and we declined it. Then the guy then proceeded to tells us that he would give us a good deal so we could have insurance on the car. He insured us that with insurance and rental for 3 days it would be 116 dollars. I asked him to make sure we heard right that this would include the rental and insurance and he said yes. So we signed the contract and went on our way. A few days later the hold was dropped but we were charged 174 + the 49.00 we used to hold the car. When I called about the charge they said it was 116 dollars just for the coverage 18.64 fee recovery charge, nm surcharge fee of 13.56 and a 23.99 tax fee plus a 11.49 energy surcharge fee. All of this on top of the rental cost with a grand total of 225 dollars. Then they told me they would only give me a 50 dollars credit after an hour of arguing back and forth. Never again will we use this company. While we were out of town I called to see if we could extend the rental for one more day and they told me I could for 150 dollar extra charge. Best of the best when It comes to taking advantage of people.
Super slow service. By far not the most busy counter but still waited over 30 min for them to process 3 people on front of us. If you need to get somewhere fast pick a different carrier.

Although the line was a tad long at check in, our rep. (Virginia) really took her time with us. She showed me an area in my account that I should fix in order to receive better discounts. Virginia then upgraded our car as she noticed my business account (even though we were on personal travel). The rep. when we turned in the car was nice and helpful. Car was clean.
Great service and a good car. JOSH was exceptionally helpful: the only SUV available when I arrived was GMC Acadia, too big for a couple. He told me to come the next day to replace it, and he wont charge me for the gas. I came back the next day and got a Chevy Equinox, which was perfect. Heaven went outside with me to show me the cars available, so I could chose. The whole process took about 10 minutes.

My husband rent a car and broke down 60 miles after he rented it. He even expend the night in the car because the emergency road assistance never showed up . Just to get in contact with the company took more that tree hours... AWFUL SERVICE
They are into getting the customer to upgrade and purchase benefits. The consequence is it takes so long to get out of there and onto the road. They lack a sense of urgency.
I give a 2 because I know it is my fault I left my camera in the car, but I left my camera in the car in a very obvious location and notified them immediately and they claim it was not recoverable. I hope they enjoyed all of our vacation footage. Just be careful. I understand I shouldnt forget but this was obvious so someone clearly took it and you would hope that wouldnt happen. Otherwise car was fine.
We rented a car for our honeymoon in NM. We were lucky enough to have Jesse work with us at Dollar Rent a Car when we arrived. He was super accommodating and helpful to us! I would use Dollar Rent a Car again just because he was so easy to work with.
S---L---O---W---E---S---T reservation agents EVER! I rented from Dollar because they advertised the rental counter and cars are located at the terminal, but actually had to get on a bus to get to the rental car counter and car lot located near the terminal. Not the same thing. Car was fine, agents very pleasant. I just dont like being baited when I paid more for the advertised convenience of being in the terminal.
Listen, Brenda was AMAZING. We were a big group coming back from camp and we were so tired. Brenda, the goat of Dollar, gave us amazing customer service by just seeing our need and meeting it! She told us to stay in the car and she would drop us off at the airport. She saved us so much trouble of unpacking our car, waiting for the shuttle and getting dropped off at the airport. Wow. Give Brenda Arguello a RAISE. God bless her.

Watch for the insurance up charge. They dont tell you about it until you get to the counter... very expensive insurance for the week....$400 up charge.ouch! Watch out for the rocks.
These guys were terrific. I had a car with some issues and was about to drive a 7 hour trip. I went back to the rental place at the airport to see about an exchange of cars and they were so helpful. The guy helped me at the outside counter rather than make me go inside the main building and wait in line for a car exchange and to my surprise gave me a car upgrade, and a $50 credit for next time I rent with Dollar. I would say that is great customer service as when I arrived I didnt say much of anything and didnt complain, he just took over immediately and made it a really great experience.
Horrible experience! I travel for work and do 13 week assignments so I use rental cars frequently. I wound not recommended Dollar. Very very rude employees and when I finally got my SUV it was not a full-size, it was actually a car!
Was able to get a car as a walk in when another rental company did not have a car for our reservation. Very nice employees, but highway robbery for sure. 150.00 for one day, (6 hrs). You can rent a car for a week for this amount. I did not really have a choice, so I did it but will never use them again.

We were offered the managers special, however, I didnt expect it to be dirty and beat up. The car drove good with no known problems. We were told that the vaccum wasnt working. Last time Dollar.

Dollar doesnt care about anything but your money. I had to cancel a red because they couldnt find it at the rental desk in Halifax. They simply told me they were out of cars and I had to rent something from national. When contacted about a refund, they simply told me I used the reservation, and sent me a copy of someone ELSEs reservation. I told them the confusion and they simply sent a form letter saying thanks for resolving this issue when it was clearly unresolved. Rent from elsewhere, dollar doesnt care.

Dollar was a-okay. There was some confusion about my reservation and the airline promo code Id used to book it, so the process at the counter was a bit long.The car was clean, but pretty dinged and dented. I had to be careful to make sure each had already been spotted so I didnt dinged for them which was hard in the dark. No one was there when I returned my car despite the fact that it was during a time when they were supposed to be staffed so hopefully they dont try to ding me for any of those dings.I generally use whatever car rental place gets me the most miles for the cost of the rental. If thats Dollar next time then Ill use them again, if not, well nothing was amazing enough for me to be tempted to give up on airline miles to preferentially use Dollar.
Best price online for an emergency. Check in was 5 minute wait and when he got to me, it took just minutes. Got a great free upgrade, couldnt be happier!
Picked up the rental car from Albuquerque, NM airport. The shuttle bus took us to the dollar rental location. It was such a smooth process, very efficient even during dropped off. Made my trip to NM more of a memorable experience driving around town with a nice working rental car.

We had used Dollar Rental Car for years because of their awesome customer support. I would advise NOT using them if flying into Orlando, FL. Went on line and made reservations, 14 Apr, had to change to 2 day earlier pickup bc my mother-in-law had been taken to ER and was declining, on 17 Apr, super easy to change and process went smoothly. My husband was up at 3am to catch a SW flight which was cancelled due to weather, he was able to get a flight at 5 pm which put him into Orlando at 12am. It is our opinion that the clerk took full advantage of the situation of someone who had been up 21-plus hours, or more because his mother lay in the hospital dying. We had never ever taken insurance on previous rentals, I did not choose on-line WHERE the reservation was made to take insurance but we were charged for insurance bc the clerk was able to get my exhausted, emotional husband to sign a piece of paper, and I quote, to finish the rental process. My mother in law passed away 22 Apr. When I saw the charge come through I called, we even returned that car 2 full days early, and not only did we not get credit for 2 days rental, the best they could do b/c their clerk was dishonest was give us half off the charge. Customer service at its finest -- NOT!
Only giving one star because zero stars was NOT an option. Never ever rent from Dollar. Having a reservation means nothing to them as waiting for fourty minutes and counting at this point. Rudest staff we have ever encountered, requested a passport and a sams club card?!! Then refused to allow us to use their advertised fuel program as it would “mess up my system”. It is seriously worth the money and effort to go through a different company. You will be glad you did.
Rented a Chevy Spark subcompact car from this location for 8 days of vacation in Colorado last week. When I picked up the car the lady at the desk was very condescending and unfriendly. She also pushed a receipt toward me which included the insurance coverage. When I rejected the insurance she said I had selected it when I made the reservation. Although I showed her the reservation on my phone which clearly showed it was declined. She pushed the insurance coverage and the loss of use and seemed indignant that I wouldnt fold to her high pressure sell.Although the car was very nice and nearly brand new the I later found out the Automotive Power Port didnt work. There was only one in the car. Someone knew it didnt work because when I checked the fuse, I found it had been removed. I tried replacing it but found the fuse wasnt the the issue the Power Port was bad. This made my whole vacation week a hassle because I couldnt charge my phone which I need for to use for navigation. When I called customer service number they were very nice and offer me another car but Id have to drive 150 miles away from my vacation location in Colorado it pick up the car. They wouldnt bring it to me!Overall, renting from Dollar was somewhat a hassle but customer service it not #1 with them.

Made a reservation online as Ive done many times with Dollar. I arrived at my specified time, which was later in the night. I get to the rental counter and the customer rep says they shut my computers down so he cant give me my car. He doesnt do anything to help me find an alternative and so I was stuck figuring it out myself. Go with Avis or Hertz for this airport.

Never again what a fkn joke, first of all paid 500+ pre pay for the rental then 400+ for the deposit that they tried to say didnt get charged to my account witch it sure fkn did and then trying to say that it was my bank.. then and additional 200$ charge when dropping off the vehicle telling me that the deposit ahouldsho of came out that it was only a holding amount that its my bank that did that.. umm hello the statement on my bank says Dollar rent a car so trying to pay the extra 200$ for they said additional tax and fees I needed to get my buddy to help me out with the worker is telling me that it cant be paid my anyone else and has to me paid my me! Telling me she can get the management.. (well you sure as hell better!) He then says that yes a form of payment is payment and she still tried argue with him saying that it has to be in my name but duhh suprise it worked! So now the management tells me the deposit of 400+ will be added back to my account in about 4 days 😑 .. keep in mind from Canada and I was told when I pre paid that it would only be 200$ us for the depidet .. so all the costs are conversation from us to Canada witch is why everything was so much.. not to mention when I first picked up the vehicle it took them about 40 minutes from the time I got to the desk to in the vehicle. Not impressed and will never be renting threw them again.
I was given a Nissan SUV and I loved it. Im a express member so the registration was a breeze and the SUV was clean and ready to go. I highly recommend Dollar.

I rented a vehicle through Expedia frim Dollar. I read the confirmation details I received via email thoroughly because I was paying with a debit card and I know some companies have specific policies regarding this. All it read on the email was to have two forms of ID. I also earlier in the day, prior to pick-up, called Dollar customer support to confirm all I needed was two forms of ID. The gentleman I spoke to confirmed my reservation and confirmed all I needed was two forms of ID. I arrived for the pick-up and was right away told they could not uphold my reservation because I did not have an departing flight ticket. My family had left us earlier in the day to begin our family vacation since I had to work later. My youngest daughter and I were dropped off by an Uber to pick-up our vehicle at the airport location. I had taken the extra steps to ensure we could pick up the rental with no issues. There was absolutely no empathy from the manager and he never asked once what he could do to rectify the situation. It’s now 7p and the chances of my daughter and I finding a rental tonight to join the rest of our family are slim to none. That is the most nonsensical process to put your own patron through. That’s the most inconvenient, inconsiderate business practice I’ve been subject to. Furthermore, the manager stated that was the policy all along at this location when I have previous rental email confirmations from companies at that location. Again, the company as a whole misled and misinformed me for two days and at the last minute ruined our family weekend vacation by not disclosing pertinent rental information.

Had an accident on I 40.. somebodys tire bounced into the grill of my car. Busted the radiator. It was late at night..a thousand miles from home . I was desperate. Tried to rent a car from Enterprise and they said NO because I didnt have a major credit card on me. (Even though Ive rented from them for 20 years) So a Big thank you to Dollar Rent A Car Albuquerque NM for allowing me to rent from you. I will be a loyal customer of yours for life.

Was told I was going to receive an email confirmation, never received it. I called back and they could not even find the reservation. It was painfully hard to make the reservation since the representative did not speak very good english at all. Went with enterprise and had zero problems.

Disappointed. I received a receipt with the incorrect name on it and when I asked for a new one with my name on it - I was told I had to go to customer service on line. Three (3) weeks later I am still trying to get the proper receipt for my expense reports.
The attendant was curt and rude when I checked in. They overcharged my credit card by a ridiculous amount without any warning that this would happen. I returned my car before 6 am and was told by another company, oh, they dont get in until after 6 and that I should leave the car and the keys and that Dollar would email me a receipt. It is now 7 days later and they still havent sent me a receipt (which I need to get reimbursed from my company) and it took them 5 days to remove that obscene overcharge from my credit card.

They cancelled my reservation when m flight was late, then they told me that they didnt have any available cars. They were unwilling to help me in any way. I ended up booking with Enterprise and even getting a lower rate. I will NEVER rent from dollar again.
