Really enjoyed my stop at Augusta jewelers. I was incredibly nervous to ask for an appraisal on the items I was bringing in and my nervousness quickly subsided when I was greeted warmly by the owner and heard one of my favorite songs playing. He prides himself on providing education to customers and providing honest feedback/prices which is more than I was even hoping for! Loved the extra education piece. Would highly recommend coming by in your moments of uncertainty on how much an item is truly worth to sell/consign as well as checking out their wide variety of inventory!

Stopped in with the family. My son loves coins. The owner is Leroy. Friendly charming and clearly more interested in being honest than he is in pushing products. Has a great selection and actually taught us a lot about the jewelry business and coins. Highly recommended. Very comfortable atmosphere.

I went to Augusta Jewelers and coins with a coin I had know idea what I had. Leroy researched and found me information on my coin I had. It was 24 karat had know idea. Gave me a very good offer on it. I thought about it and went back the next week and he gave me the same deal on it after doing more research on it. This man is amazing and very knowledgeable and genuine. Go to him he will always treat you right.

Went here to sell some silver of my familys that was no longer needed. The owner there is fantastic. He was extremely knowledgable and very fair. One can feel uncomfortable doing business with places that buy your goods, but not this place. Additionally, they have a wide range of jewelry goods to choose from, with decent prices. We went to Augusta Jewelers to sell jewelry from my mothers estate. We feel we got a very fair price for the jewelry. He was easy to work with and very professional. We were a little confused what to do with this jewelry and he made the process quick and simple.

The owner has told me several times even for agreed upon items of worth that an items value is really just in what someone else is willing to pay for it. Though from a logical point very true, the owner has lost touch with the fact that value is also in the eyes of the beholder and often times the items that are brought to him already hold tremendous value to the person bringing them in that spans far beyond how many dollar bills he’ll toss at you for it.Personally I was seeking further knowledge on whether already tremendously valuable familial items through my eyes also held some sort of additional monetary value as well; but was left walking out of the store despite him testing many of my items as being 14K Gold when he began literally tossing around my grandfathers belongings as if they were trash. To elaborate further, this escalated from me simply suggesting that I thought a coin kept in a locked box could have more value than he thinks especially since he didn’t even spend 2 seconds looking at it in detail- as my grandfather was an avid coin collector who has appraised value in some of his collectables that are well into the thousands.He proceeded to throw a $50 bill on the glass in front of me saying in an extremely condescending manner that if I find anyone who would pay more than the dollar the coin is worth in spending he would sell everything he had in the store. Sadly this is not the first time of recent interactions that I have felt that valuable things through my eyes were treated and viewed as “junk” through his. Many of these items being of similar type to collectibles he has on display throughout the store keep in mind.Just know that if you bring your items in, whatever value they have in your eyes will be completely disregarded in his attitude, option, and treatment of it if it doesn’t test as having precious gold or medal. Makes me question whether he shorted the value of the items I did sell to him as he clearly has lost touch in the true meaning of collectibles of value and worth.

Enjoyed finding this rare gem of a shop in York. Leroy repaired a sentimental pair of earrings. Pleasant chat about his business. I will definitely be back with some old jewelry to resell.

I drive almost an hour to come here. Even though there are places closer; I drive all the way across the bridge to York. This guy really does give the best price for gold! And no matter what you bring him, he looks it up on his great big computer screen that is right there where you can see it. When he buys gold he pulls up the gold calculator software he has, weighs and tests the gold in front of you, then calculates it- in front of you! I wont be going anywhere else for gold sales.
