I need a tow so called them. I couldnt make out what they were saying. I asked him nicely for second time. He raised his tone at me like it make any better. Mind you im hard of hearing. Then i asked for third time. He got frustrated n rudely hung up on me. I never deal with somebody like that in my life. In the future i will not deal with their service again. It was very disappointed i might add.

Called triple AAA and they sent this tow, who towed it to the wrong address (the body shop was one block away) and they parked my car immediately in front of a “no stopping sign”. I called back and asked if they could please move it to a safe parking spot where it wouldn’t get further towed/tickets and the gentleman was extremely rude & impatient.

I would recommend this business to anyone for their recycling scrap metal needs. It is a salvage yard so you can expect it to be dirty just like any other salvage yard however the people are friendly and a pleasure to work with. They are very fair and honest with their customers.

Helped make best of a bad situation.

Sold 2 cars to them and there was no money avaliable in their machine. Had 3 visits and mutiple calls into them before they finally wrote me a check. I have been using Prospect Metals lately and recommend them. I would watch my cars rust before ever selling to J&K again.

Do yourself a favor and take your scrap to East Prospect metal much better prices and easy to deal with. Had to wait for weeks for a scrap pickup just to find out after scheduling a pickup they scheduled something else. They proceeded to tell me “they don’t really give a sh$#, we have plenty of work”. Lack any part of professional run business. Now reading that fly scrap are destroying nearby homes from them. Poorly run and not competitive.

Do not use these guys. They say the pay the best but don’t pay at all. The worst and I been in the business for 20 years. Please use a truth worthy company not these guys.

Its always quick to sell my scrap metals here, Drive in & Drive out with cash, You can also take shingles and junk wood here and its a lot cheaper than the landfill. J&K just makes sense, and theyve never done wrong by me.

I scrapped a car there on 10-18, the clerk said they had no money but i could call during the week and they should have it. Its been almost a week now and surprise no money the whole week! They do have the best price per 100 but good luck getting your money! They probably pay there employs with scrap and encourage them to take to a more reputable place of business! Ill be sure to update this within a week.

Its now past 2 months and I still have not received money for my car they could conveniently tow and take my title for.. Ive called about 5 times and its always, Ill get back to you..... its being mailed today...... words!!! How these people operate a business is beyond me. I should be read the reviews before calling them. Hopefully someone doesnt make my same mistake. Ill edit the review for my money.......

I had a flat tire earlier today. A very kind tow truck driver stopped and put my spare on for me. He wouldnt accept any money. He said that he has a wife and kids, and can only hope that somebody would do the same for them. Thank you, God, for sending me this angel of Mercy! And kuddos to J&K for their choice of employees! If I need salvage services, Ill call J&K first!

Synopsis: Dont waste your time and energy doing business here. I had to be brief because I couldnt fit everything I wanted to say in the allotted space. FYI, The Better Business Bureau gave them an F.I would have to say that I was very dissatisfied with the service I received from J&K Salvage. I dropped off a minimum amount of scrap (a few hundred dollars) and after they took my scrap I was asked if I wanted an ATM ticket that I could use to get cash out of ATM or if I wanted to go to the scarp office and collect a check. The guy was nice enough to inform me that the ATM was currently out of cash, so I opted for the check. I later found out (by employees/customers) it rarely holds cash and so many other people are waiting that when it has cash it doesnt last long.I was told they had to mail check bc they didnt have any on hand. 7 weeks went by before I called to inquire about my check. They had no idea and said they would call me back. They never did. I call back later only to get same response. 1 more week, I call and I am told they will call me back. I called them out on not calling me back and that is when it was mentioned to me that they are owed a lot of $ and are having trouble paying customers (oh, and I was told they couldnt issue checks. WHAT?!). Then why take my product in first place if you didnt have intentions of paying me on time. They told me to call after hours and speak with Joe, the owner/manager (idk). He was fairly rude and told me to speak to Yvonne and she would set aside cash to pay me. Well I was finally paid (3 MONTHS AFTER i gave them my metal). I will say that all the employees were courteous and Joe might have been just having a bad day. But I believe this company is having huge issues and forcing its low level customers to bare the faults of someone else. Get your act together or at least be more honest!

I wish I could give this 0 Stars.. I left my toolbox here and the owner told me I had to pay a FINDERS FEE!!! to get it back.. Because of previous times people lied about forgetting tools there. What a bummer. This place Sucks!

Crooks through and through. They steal your car under the guise of salvaging it and supposed to give you money for the tons of metal you just handed over. They arent a business... they are a scam. I will be sure to tell everyone I know and maybe even get it in the paper and on WGAL!!! until this place is out of business.

Horrible. Ive been calling for months after given an I.O.U. and still have not gotten paid from them. This is the worst place to go. Do Not go there!

On March 22 2014 I dropped off 2 loads of scrap total worth $245.00. There automatic ticket and atm system was out of money. I was told the owner fills atm with money sometime after 10am but is never at the same time so none of the employees know when money is there. Unable to collect on the 22nd which was a Saturday, I returned Monday the 24th after work at 330pm ( Sunday they are closed ) and again no money in atm. At this time I was told the atm usually runs out quick so I was to get here early. When I asked the cashier if she believed this was good business practice I was answered with silence. I have returned at 845am on Wednesday being forced to wait for a money delivery. It is now 1030 am the 26th still no delivery and no were near the customers I was led to believe in fact of the 3 other customers Ive seen and talked to one was paid cash 4$ and the other 2 were returning from earlier this week for payment. I refuse to leave at this time. I will update once paid or kicked out.At 1050am an employee made the effort to finally get me paid and he did so to him I say thank you. My experience with the employees was pleasant, unfortunately the owner leaves them to be the faces and hangs them out to dry. I found out the owner was on site. This troubles me because if he knew I was there and made no effort to reconcile his bill, leaving it to a concerned employee to take care of it what kind of individual is this man. Id have to say this was my first and last experience with J&K. And I can only hope the employees find a better employer and business to work for. By the way there BBB Rating is an F feel free to look it up yourself.

Astonishing how sickly of a business this is couldnt pay out an already lowest payout ive ever seen $4 for over 100lbs of scrap steel then finally paid me in quarters many issues everyday with being unable to pay out a tab that they make you sign a recipt before you get your money stating you were paid and the recipt claimed i gave them iron

Purchased mulch, really disappointed in the quality. It was black (not colored black dirty black). So bad that I ended up putting it where no one would walk.Mostly dirt.

They are rude. They have illegal inspections on their cars and half of everything on the car does not work.

I called Thursday for a scrap, the guy that answers the phone told me wasnt able to do a pick up until Monday. So I call back Monday early in the morning asking again if theyre available. I get told no maybe later in the week. Total loss of time

Its been six weeks and still no money, dont understand how a business can take scrap from a customer and not pay them for it, i dont know what else to do Ive been calling twice a day for six week. i dont have a choice but to go to the magistrate and file charges.

I do wish there was a button below Poor - Fair. The towing operation and drivers will scam you and and feed you whatever false information that they can come up with in order to jack up the bill. DO NOT USE THE TOWING SERVICE! There are plenty of towing companies available other than J&K. Use someone else.
