Jim and his team are my go to when it comes to my auto needs. They are a great east metro repair shop that provides quality service, is honest & trustworthy, and fairly priced.

I needed an aftermarket exhaust installed on my 2015 Jetta, so I went to car care advanced. They competed the installation in a bit over 2 hours despite the exhaust requiring adjustment, and they only charged me for two hours.

These guys will always give you an honest educated opinion and top notch repair work! I was so happy with my experience! From oil changes to major repairs, they have always been just fantastic.

Available and got done in a day. Not sure about value as not sure what new AC compressor replacement would run elsewhere? Came highly recommend by my sister who has raved about Jims service for years.

The most amazing service I have ever received at a car shop. Affordable and AMAZING customer service.It was insanely cold weather, so after fixing my car they kept it in the shop. When I came to pay the next day they brought it out all warm and ready to go.

We were just starting our travel back to Chicago in a downpour when our muffler dropped. Jim welcomed us into the office and gladly squeezed us in their full bays and schedule. It took less time and was less expensive than we anticipated. It made our trip home much easier!!! Thank you!!!

Completed the work in just a couple of hours and charged a fair price.Added 12/31/18Again they did a minor evaluation and repair on my parking brake system. Fantastic honest work. This is the only place I will have my vehicle repaired. They are top notch.

I needed my vehicle to be fixed asap. Even though I called on a Thursday, asking them to fix it on Friday, they not only fit me in and fixed the problem, they made time to change my oil and rotate my tires. All on very short notice. They have a new customer. Thanks!

2/5/2019This shop is awsome. Had an unexpected issue with my Trailblazer on the way to work. I commute a very long way. Even though they were very busy(Polar Vortex repairs) they got my car in and had it fixed in 6 hours. Cost was exactly what they quoted and even let me use a coupon for $40 off.

Had my car scheduled to fix something and it ended up not being what I thought so they called and asked to tell me the news and didnt replace anything until I confirmed it unlike many shops. Great price and great work. Have had them do work before and they always do great and for a good price compared to nearby shops!

I received a welcome to the neighborhood coupon for a free oil change. They have flexible hours and it only took 25 minutes from start to finish! Friendly workers, I will definitely return for future repairs.

My daughter took her car to replace her tire not at this place. The guy said you need to get a new rim and walked away from her. She is shy and anxious and was upset. We called here and the guy was super nice and explained differences of rims. He told me to have her come in at 4pm and hed look at it and then help her to the next step to get it replaced. Her mood was from crying to relief and happy. THANK you for being kind and helping. Sometimes its more than just a tire.

I go there for oil change and whatever comes up. I usually get an appointment on the same day. Quick and easy. Waiting area is very clean and quite and the price is reasonable.

First I had to tow my car in because it wouldnt start. They said they didnt find anything wrong. Just about a week later it did the same thing, my car wouldnt start again. Brought the car back in. I asked me to check on some other things like my lights, one of them was flickering. They checked the car twice and finally found the problem that was making my car not start. I was about to pick up my car and asked about them changing the lights, and they never changed them. Had to ask them twice to get them replaced. Not two weeks later one of the lights went out. I decided to not return again. They havent got a clue what they are doing or they enjoy taking advantage of people. Not worth the business.

This service center was excellent; I called near the end of the day because I had just noticed an issue on my car that concerned me. They took my car into the shop, assessed it, and fixed the issue. I am so grateful they took the time to do this! Thank you!

They didnt even have an opening, but they still squeezed in two oil changes the same day I called in. That was on a Saturday. The prices are good the people trustworthy and friendly, I will definitely be bringing all my car needs here.

Great and honest service. Had a wheel balancing issue that wont go away. They narrowed it to a bad tire belt, took me in the shop to show when and where it is caused. Did not for charge for the rotation or the balancing they did on any of the remaining wheels since mostly everything came back fine.

Had a brake job last year on my acura rdx (front brake pads), and just had them done the rear one this week. Left the car in the morning, and picked up just after noon time.....saved about 40-50% than dealers cost, and speedy service. Great place. They quickly found the actual problem with my car and fixed it, saving me a lot of money in the process. No attempt at upsell or fixing problems that werent urgent, and they gave me a detailed list of all things that I need to be watchful of (but again, they didnt try to sell me those repairs, which I appreciated). Ill be coming back here again.

After paying a little over $1,800.00 for a full clutch replacement, my clutch went out after 4 years, about 40,000 miles. I came here since they replaced it they said they were happy to look at it. I am under complete assumption this inspection is goodwill (free). At the very least they could have been upfront about the labor fee, but it wasnt mentioned to me. Of course they charged me $60 for 30 minutes of labor, so the indisputable problem here was i was informed of a charge AFTER service was performed, not before. That was strike one for me. I told them the cost of repair exceeds the value of the car (2003 saturn ion with 246K miles). I asked if they can meet me half way with the service charge since I spent over $1800 there previously and I was not informed of the service charge. I was told they have to pay their mechanic. I sure am glad that specific mechanic is making $120 an hour.... even bumping $30 off my price would have made my day, but they wouldnt budge. Here comes the real issue, something I never expected... They told me I can come pick up my car, so I show up, pay $60 and get my keys, get in my car to leave.....the clutch doesnt engage, car doesnt budge at all. I literally paid them $60 to break my car. Now I understand my vehicle was in questionable condition, thats why I brought it there in the first place, but if i drive my car in, I would expect to be able to drive it out. They didnt even give me the courtesy to tell me my car is not derivable, so now i have to tow my car.... talk about a bad day. The ONLY thing I am appreciative of was they allowed me to keep the car there for about 5-6 days until I could decide where I was going to tow it. I give them points where they are due. Two indisputable facts: 1. They did not tell me they were going to charge me for the inspection, but informed me AFTER labor/service was done. 2. I drove my car in, I could not drive it out. They broke my car, period. Agh, bring your car here at your own risk, I still think $1800 is a lot for a full clutch replacement that only lasted 4 years. the original clutch lasted over 12 years. I still have the receipt for the service.

Got a coupon in the mail for a free oil change from here. Great! My girlfriend goes in to use it. They tell her she has to replace a broken screw that holds the oil. $78 to replace it. I get home from work and imagine my surprise at how much a free oil change ended up costing us.

I called 10 local service stations (Stillwater) that perform “Alignments” requesting a price estimate for my specific vehicle (Year/Make/Model) as well as ability to complete the service in a timely manner. Most of the pricing was competitive within a $20 range, but this place met my pricing (inexpensive) and immediate accommodation (next day appointment – exactly 24-hours from the time I called). The alignment service was top notch with a written spec sheet for initial findings and what they were able to achieve without replacing certain parts that were also flagged by another mechanic. They didn’t pressure me to buy or do anything mechanically, but strongly encouraged me to consider the safety, wear/tear on my vehicle, and provided me with a free estimate for the repairs. I had other repairs that I was debating fixing and they gave me estimates on everything – they really went the extra mile and even have loaner vehicles at no charge in the event that you do not want to wait during the repair process. This place is a gold-mine!!! They offered decent pricing, phenomenal staff (Jon Widerski & Paul T.), clean environment, well-equipped, able to do everything mechanical, tires, etc. (no auto body work). I look forward to doing ALL of my mechanical repairs at this service center!!! Thank you!!! Two thumbs up!!!

They did $300 of work before finding the real cause of my problem, but they didnt charge for it -- said they could have caught it earlier. Such friendly mechanics, theyve earned my business in the future!

I have gone here since I moved to Minnesota years ago. They are kind, honest, and have saved me money by debunking what other mechanics have quoted me for unnecessary repairs. They try as hard as they can to fit you in to their schedule too. Even if you dont need a repair, get your oil changed here. You wont be sorry.

I just got tires on my Chevy Express van yesterday. Uneven tire wear was telling me to get an alignment. I Googled alignment Woodbury this morning. I call this place and they got me in today. They told me once it was on the rack that I had a bad tie rod. Immediately I am thinking here we go. So I asked them to show me how it was bad. They took me into the shop and showed me on the computer that the numbers move when they move the tire with the steering wheel locked. So, great, I found a guy I can trust. Not only that. I stop back to pick up the vehicle and he says, That tie rod was just loose, we just put it back together with lock tite and only charged you labor.Very honest, highly recommend!

I have an 06 Honda Pilot and recently all the warning lights came on. I brought it to another shop in Woodbury down the road I will not say what shop. They told me it would be $1500 to start and it might not fix the problem. I said no thanks that sounds like a horrible idea. I brought to car care and they were honest and said they couldnt pin point the issue but wanted to try a couple of things it ended up costing me around $300 and the car has worked great ever since. You would be a fool to go anywhere else in Woodbury these guys have my business for life.Thanks for saving me a boat load of cash

Friendly honest

My wife went in for an alignment. She asked them to check the check engine light. They said there would be an additional charge but did not disclose the amount. They charged nearly $60 to pull codes and billed it to Engine Repair diagnostic work when no actual work was done. I went in to discuss the charges and was told basically their time and equipment was worth too much so they couldnt reimburse any amount of the charge. Poor customer service and not up front about pricing. I would avoid here, but if you do go here, like too many places these days, beware of them trying to take advantage of your lack of knowledge.

Just needed to change the manual gear knob on my VW Passat and I couldnt figure out how to take the housing off as I wanted to do the job myself. I called Car Care and Jim was extremely helpful and said I could bring the car in to take a look despite the fact that they didnt normally fit brought in parts. It took him about 5 mins to figure it out which saved me loads of time and I felt terrible as I did not have any cash on me to just give him something to say thank you so I decided to write this instead to say thanks again.

Edited update: 4-1-17, approx 6 months later. Did a complete brake exam and change. Rubber boots on caliper pins all good, but pins rusted, obviously overlooked. Nothing greased, shouldnt rust unless they werent greased. Found my problems : bad brake fluid (black should be clearish), frozen pins in calipers. Disgusting, if it hadnt been fall/ winter, I woulda checked it myself and found the problems then.First come, first served seems to be the motto. I confirmed that I was scheduled for Thursday, for a brake issue. Dropped off before they opened. They have 8 stalls for working on vehicles. After hearing nothing for 6 hrs, I called to find out it hadnt been checked yet. Called again 1 hr before close, still nothing. 30 minutes later, they got it in and found nothing wrong. Next day they called 930a, they found seized pins and incorrect install of pads on one wheel. Called at 230pm, still werent done. Received call 4pm, its DONE. Picked up next day. When I got the bill, I asked why it was so high, assistant manager knew nothing. I received a 17.5% discount for my two day wait, with no loaner vehicle.Brake pads one side 4X the actual cost for what I could get at autozone.If you can afford to be without your vehicle for a few days and end up with a bill twice or more the size of correct cost then go here. I wont be returning.

I was driving a load of wood to my sons house in Maplewood when I experienced a blow out on one of my tires. I had Stillwater Towing bring the trailer to Car Care on a Sunday when no one was working. I just left it in their parking lot and called the main number to leave a message. I got a call the next morning and discussed what needed to be done. The trailer was loaded with wood and the replacement tire and rim I left with them did not fit the trailer. They made some adjustments to my request and got the new tire on and working but told me about some issues with the springs that might cause additional blowouts. When I arrived to pick up the trailer, one of the technicians came out and help me to put the trailer on my car. He didnt need to do that but he did. Jim was the service manager and was a constant professional. So was the maintenance staff who helped. Im glad that Stillwater Towing sent me in this direction. Thanks to Care Care of Woodbury. Im a senior and companies like this make life a little easier.

I believe I paid nearly the 3.5 times the actual price on the replacement throttle position sensor. I should have asked how much the part cost yes but there is no reason to charge that much more than it should have been. I was in a bind and they helped but it is disturbing - be it because I am female or not - that you would be asked to pay that much more

They over charge for a diagnostics, then over charge for repairs.
