SO I called to schedule an appointment to have my dryer looked at. Customer service is horrible. Took all my information, the tech called the next day before arriving. When he gets there, he says he cant do the work because there wasnt a credit card on file. So instead of asking me to call and put one of file, he says he cant help and leaves. I call customer service back and they admit their rep didnt do it correctly but if I want to reschedule, I could but there wouldnt be available appointment for another week or two. They wasted our time along with their techs time and had no compassion that they messed up. Didnt want to correct their mistake at all!!! I found another company that was amazing. I will NEVER recommend Sears repair to anyone!!
Did an excellent job once they were onsite.
I was informed that if I had the service performed then my service fee would be deducted from my price. That was not true. The person was professional and explained to me that this happens because the right information is not always given. I think I won’t recommend Sears.
Had an initial assessment completed at the end of February 2020 for a dishwasher repair. After getting the quote for a one time drain pump replacement, my husband and I decided to purchase the warranty service, as we also had a fridge that needed service and it seemed like a reasonable service to utilize. We were notified that the warranty wouldn’t kick in for 30 days for our non-dishwasher appliances, so couldn’t utilize warranty service for the fridge until then. Okay, I thought, we’ll take care of the dishwasher and then take care of the fridge after. A drain pump was to be delivered to our home and a technician was supposed to make the repair on March 13. March 13, the day of our appointment, no part had arrived. My husband called Sears and they told him the part was unavailable and that they would keep us updated on its delivery status. They didn’t. April 7th, I called Sears to find out what was going on with our drain pump, and after being bounced around several times was told the part was still unavailable. Pressing for an expected availability date, the phone rep told me mid-June. Frustrated because I didn’t sign up for repair services with an expectation of a 3 and a half month wait time, I requested a refund on services purchased because no services other than being told what was wrong with my dishwasher had ultimately been delivered, and to cancel my warranty policy.Sears ultimately agreed to refund the initial repair consult fee, but not the 2 months worth of warranty services we had paid for. At this point (4 days after calling Sears), I have neither received a refund for the initial repair consult as promised, nor a confirmation email that the warranty was canceled (only phone confirmation of cancellation on a follow up call).Curiously, and frustratingly, I received a package in the mail from GE yesterday. Indeed, it is the missing drain pump. The ship date on it was April 8th, sent exactly one day after I spoke with Sears and was told the part would be unavailable until June. First of all, If on 4/7 I was told we could expect the part by Friday of the same week, I would have been willing to wait for it. Secondly, the timing of the ship date as it relates to my customer service call is really suspicious, and although it may be a coincidence, it seems super shady that I canceled all business with them and the missing part shipped the very next day. Third, in the days in between, we ultimately decided to order a new dishwasher as It now seemed to be more cost efficient in the long term and less hassle.So...now I have a dishwasher part that I truly don’t need, and will need reach back out to Sears again to have it returned and avoid being financially responsible for the drain pump. I still haven’t received the refund promised earlier this week, and to add insult to injury, this morning I received an email from Sears which reads,“ We hope you are satisfied with the service of your GE DISHWASHER, BUILT-IN on Apr 7. Parts and labor are always guaranteed for 90 days*We would appreciate feedback on your experience. Typically, it takes less than three minutes to complete and by sharing your experience with Sears on Google Reviews you’ll be helping other consumers.”***April 7 is the date I was told the drain pump was expected to be unavailable until June and that I decided cancel the repair. No repair service was rendered on April 7th, so no, Sears, I am not satisfied. I have nothing to be satisfied with as far as a repair because no repair was completed.***I was willing to withhold my grumpy bad review, but after getting this email and prompting me for feedback, I had to come on here to comment. I cannot possibly recommend against Sears appliance repair more strongly. 1 star is for the customer service reps who did try to be helpful, but who clearly work for a poorly managed service provider. Otherwise, I would give zero stars if I could.
Save your time and money. I had an estimate on my washing machine. The technician quoted a new motherboard and valve. I asked him to provide a quote in writing of the cost of each item and labor. Not only did I never receive it, I ended up doing my own troubleshooting, realized that a sock was clogging the water drain. The technician didnt even conduct the built in test, he just made up random issues and cost. When I contacted Sears to either get my money back or finish my quote, Sears claimed that they cant force the technician to do anything.
Came to replace toilets under recall, after working on them the toilets dont work. They then told me they could not come back for several days to fix them. The tech also made a mess and left it.
Representative was on time and provided good insight into my options
The tech uncovered the problem and solved it within ten minutes.
