My wife and I visited Don Beyer Volvo in Winchester with the intent of only test driving a car. Several hours later our impression of the Volvo XC 40 was so favorable, and our treatment by the sales staff so good, that we decided to purchase one. Even almost one month later I feel I can personally phone Bud, my sales representative, or even stop in to ask him any questions or address any concerns. And everything has been answered or addressed to my satisfaction! I wholeheartedly recommend Beyer Volvo to anyone seeking to purchase a premium car. Just a test drive will prove that there is a difference in a Volvo cars driving experience.

If I could give Beyer Volvo negative stars, I would. But unfortunately I cant. I would like to warn potential buyers thinking of buying a car from here of a deceptive business practice that they are engaging in. I was communicating with one of their salespeople by e-mail about a purchase. He e-mailed me a price breakdown. It had the list price for the car listed, the $1500 cash rebate being offered by Volvo, and then a Taxable Fee of $1195 was added back into the price. When I asked the salesperson what this fee was for, he said that it was the dealer destination charge to transport the vehicle to the dealership. I replied back to him that the destination charge was already included in the list price of the car (which it is). He said because they were discounting the car $1500 (which they arent, that is a rebate being offered by Volvo), they add back in the destination charge. So they are basically charging the destination charge in twice, negating most of the cash rebate being offered by Volvo (Beyer themselves offered no additional discounts on the vehicle). They might as well call it a market adjustment charge. But instead they choose to be deceptive and call it the dealer destination fee. While probably not criminal, it definitely is an unethical practice for the dealership to make more money off an unsuspecting buyer. Needless to say I wont be buying a car from here, and I hope that anyone else who is thinking about buying a car from here will read this and think twice.

Best Volvo service department in Winchester. Ive been there twice this month for two separate issues on my Volvo and have had nothing but top rated service each time. Big shout out to Nick and staff at check out counter. Great staff working there. Staff is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Revised review:I must apologize for my previous review, and for making erroneous insinuations about Nick the Volvo service rep. He has always been more than helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant when I visit. He advises me based on the evidence he has at hand. Still, the fact that my Volvo was given a green light brake inspection in December and 7,000 miles later to be told your rear brakes and rotors are shot is not acceptable to me, nor should it be to anyone who just bought a new $50K car less than a year ago, or a $20K car for that matter, and to now have to pour $800 into repairs on parts that shouldn’t have worn out this quickly on a new car. If my front brake pads are still good how could the rear pads wear so fast, it never happens that way unless there is an underlying issue. Always remember auto makers don’t issue recalls out of the kindness of their hearts. They only do so when the cost of litigation exceeds the costs of remaining deaf, dumb, and blind. Don Beyer a self proclaimed ethical organization turn out to me the most manipulative one. Ive visited multiple dealerships, having multiple conversations, with salesmen and sale managers; and theyre definitely one of most manipulative one ive visited. If you dont know how to properly negotiate and spot out their tactics, unlike other dealers, they will not budge and or work with you. it seem as if the sale manager was trying to make the bottom line. We all know most, if not all, dealerships have an inherited trait of ripping people off, especially when it comes to used car and if youre young. If youre buying from them, make sure to get the sale manager to come talk to you about pricing. The sale manager is the sole decision maker on how much the company is willing to sell your car. The sale manager I had, Matt Young, was in his office the entire time we trying to come to an agreement. He made his sale rep, Kelly, run back and forth, in an empty dealership with no customers, delivering messages when he could just come out and have a conversation. This disruptive communication are meant to worn you down, if they know you want the car. They will push you to finance with them, even if you already finance through your bank, since theyre Bank of America preferred customer. Creating unnecessary leg work, for the buyer, to use their own financial tool. Come prepare when youre buying from them.Things to look up:-For every 30 days a used car not being sold. the dealer takes 5%-10% off.-Every used car they sell are being profited roughly around ~$2k and are the most profitable sale they make . Twice as much as their new car.

I recently bought a Jeep from this dealership. My overall experience with Kelly was good;however, I cant say the same for upper management.After the sale, the finance manager refused to return any of my phone calls with concerns/questions that I had about the vehicle. I was trying to get ahold of them for a week while Kelly was on vacation... My car battery died after a week of owning the vehicle which may of been unforseenable but its still not a great feeling that it had happen and they failed to provide any type of reassurance about my purchase.

Great place to buy a car. Kelly is very knowledgeable on all their product lines. I was unsure what I was looking for. I test drove VW, Mazda and Volvos over a two week period. Every car that I drove, Kelly could tell me everything about. Engine, drive train, options, warranty, etc. She even could tell me the difference in option packages between the different year vehicles. I ended up with a Volvo. I fell in love with the technology the car has to offer. I have had Volvos in the past, but this is a new generation for me! After I had the car for a week, I made an appointment with Kelly to go over some of the stuff I didnt understand and wanted confirmation on. She knew every answer. if youre looking, I strongly suggest visiting Kelly and her team.

My 2020 XC40 experienced a software fail (no turn indicators, no wipers, no cruise control) on Wednesday, June 24 out of nowhere. I took it to Beyer Winchester; they kept it for two days, and I picked it up on Friday, June 26. The next day, Saturday, June 27, the exact problem recurred; I was not able to get the car to the dealership that day, but I took it back to Beyer on Monday, June 29. I took five days to resolve the problem. I picked up my car on Friday, July 3. So far, so good! Thank you, Nick Walker, for taking good care of me!

I found the perfect used S60 for my daughter at a great price on their website. I spoke to Jameson and we made the deal on the phone. I flew up from Georgia and Jameson even picked me up promptly at the airport. Once we arrived at the dealership, the vehicle was in even better condition than described. Completing the transaction was a breeze. The only negative was it lacked a 2nd key fob since it was a used car. I drove it back to Georgia and now have it parked in a friend’s garage until Christmas when I’ll surprise my daughter with her first car. Also, the next day I received a message from Jameson. He thanked me for my purchase and told me they did find the other key fob and it was in the mail and on the way to my address. Thanks Jameson for a 5 star experience!

I took my car in to see what all the lights on meant, as well as the messages to Don Beyer Volvo. Nick was fantastic. We chatted and laughed. A few days later the news came that the old girl (my words no one elses) was on her last wheels.I have been driving nothing but Volvos for over 20 years. Nick reminded me of my late husband. Excellent Volvo Service Center! Drop-off and pickup are easy. The service team is professional and communicate well. Theyll text when your vehicle is ready if you opt for that option. The loaner cars vary but all have been nice over the years (have had another Volvo, a Volkswagen, and a Mazda). All were fun to drive and experience. Also, the vehicle detail service, while a bit pricey, is totally worth it! It made our now three year old Volvo look, feel, and smell brand new again! Tremendous service!

The people at Don Beyer Volvo and VW Service are very good to the customer! They are caring, helpful, and knowledgeable. They explained the service to me and made sure I understood what they were going to do. When I picked up the car they explained what had been done and let me know the status of my vehicle and when my next service would be. They were very understanding of my schedule. He is very knowledgeable about Volvo and was honest about all the pros and the few cons of this vehicle. I appreciated the fact that there was no pressure whatsoever. Not a good experience. Took my adult daughter in to look at a car, in the used car area, posted on Beyer website and was told it went to auction X days ago. It was on the website TODAY. They said they couldnt control what was on website. Its their website why not. I asked if it was out there to just get people to come in and someone said yes. Not once did they say That ones gone but we have others you can look at. My daughter was ready to pay cash for something in her price range as this one was. Too bad they didnt wish to get her business. Shed bought there before but I dont think she will again. She left upset.

Having experienced several VW dealerships in two states, hands-down, Don Beyer VW is my top choice. I have only experienced the VW service department side of things. They have been friendly to me every time I have been in, and been given a discount on the service every time as well. Kelly in the service department is the person I try to talk to, and she has been very friendly and helpful every time. Overall, my experience at Don Beyer VW has been much better than my two previous dealership experiences. If I buy another Volkswagen, I will buy it from Don Beyer VW.

Ive been taking my Volvo to Don Beyer in Winchester for servicing for most of its warranted time. This past time was for an oil change and safety inspection. Fitz,the service representative, is friendly, efficient and provides service with a smile each time. This past time I asked for an early oil change because a mistake had been made before in the type of oil we use. This was remedied quickly and with no cost since the error was not mine.I do not go there because I got something free. I take my car there because they are on time, efficient, and I know everything will be covered well for the benefit of keeping my car safely on the road. After my warranty is up, I plan to return even though its an hour drive to get there. Its worth the time and effort.

This is the first time I have purchased myself a brand new car and it was painless! My sales lady Kelly was totally fabulous! She was very informed about her vehicles and features! My favorite part was when she introduced herself she asked me which feature did I MUST have, could not buy the car without. The answer I gave her helped her decide which trim level to start me on. I said sunroof and she said SE. She was amazing with my young daughter, she even printed and colored Disney princesses! I feel so special owning a Volvo! Had a low pressure sensor on a tire, pulled into Don Beyer Volvo. The service writer took it right in. The nice young man couldnt find anything wrong so they aired the tires up even, reset the calibration and sent me on my way, free of charge! Top Notch service and wonderful looking facility although I wasnt there long enough to really take it all in. They do have a cool Lego Volvo, full size, in their showroom. Most interesting!

I got a low pressure sensor light that came on and off for a day and then remained on continuously. I had a very busy schedule and needed my car all day so I drove to the dealership without an appointment. Service Director T. Fitzgerald (Fitz) responded to me promptly, moved the car into the service bay and had the pressure checked on all tires. One tire was found to have a nail in it. The repair was made promptly and I was out of the dealership in 20 minutes with best wishes for a happy holiday season.I truly appreciate them addressing the problem quickly. I have always had very good service for all my car needs.

I purchased a used vehicle from Don Beyer Volvo / Volkswagen Winchester on December 17, 2016. I purchased the vehicle in good faith “as-is” with no warranty. The VA State inspection was done at Don Beyer Volvo / Volkswagen on November 29, 2016. The vehicle passed VA State inspection. I took the vehicle in for MD State inspection on December 23, 2016. The vehicle failed MD State inspection. The left upper ball joint had too much play, measured at .030, the tint on the windshield was below the as1 line, the tint on the front driver (14.6) / passenger (13.2) windows was too dark, and the reverse lights did not work. I called the Don Beyer dealership and was told the vehicle passed VA State inspection and the dealership was not responsible for MD State inspection. After several telephone calls between December 23 to 29, the Don Beyer dealership offered to remove the tint and replace the reverse light bulbs. I replaced the reverse light bulbs myself, and scheduled my local dealership to remove the tint when they replaced the ball joint. On December 30, 2016, I spoke with the VA State Police to find out what the VA State inspection requirements were concerning the issues identified. The trooper informed me that the tolerance allowed for the ball joint was the manufacturer recommendation. My local dealership provided that the manufacturer tolerance for the ball joint was .000 - .008. On December 30, 2016, I took the vehicle in to my local dealership for repairs and asked them to note the measurement of the old ball joint on my work order before they removed it and installed the new one. They measured the tolerance of the old ball joint at .035. They replaced the ball joint, removed the tint, and replaced both headlight assemblies at my request due to condensation. My vehicle passed MD State inspection on January 3, 2017. UPDATE 3 FEB 17 - I sent an email as suggested by the owner. I have received no response.

Don Beyer Volvo of Winchester is amazing! My car broke down during a cross-country road trip and I was stranded. My car was towed 45 min from where I broke down to Volvo, and they took me in immediately when I arrived, even though they were about to close. They were so friendly, helpful, hospitable, caring, and urgent. They made sure I was taken care of with a room at the nearby hotel, and drove me there personally in their own vehicle. They even took care of my dog and gave her treats and love. My car was done first thing the next morning and I was able to get on my way immediately. It was such a stressful situation turned pleasant! Thanks to Ryan, Caleb, and Paulena who went above and beyond to make sure I was safe and urgently taken care of. I took my VW car for regular maintenance to Beyer VW in Winchester and it was really easy to schedule the appointment online. It was a very thorough service and check up and the staff were accurate with the estimate of time it would take, about 2 hours. They gave me a courtesy car to use while I waited, which gave me the opportunity to do some nearby shopping while they worked on my car. The dealership was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Great experience!

Could not have been more happy with our experience! We got a great deal and Jimmy DAngelo was so helpful. Answered any questions we had, patiently explained all paperwork before we signed each one. Not at all pushy! The dealership is beautiful, set up for customers comfort. We never felt rushed or pressured. We drove 3 hours to get there and will go back if we ever need another car. Kelly went out of her way to make my buying experience a memorable one. She stayed longer than was expected of her as my wife and I could not come in earlier to close the two deals on two new Jettas. Her honesty and transparency about the vehicles we tried out, showed us her integrity and loyalty to the VW brand and her place of work, Don Beyer Volvo & VW. The service manager, Christine was very helpful and with a cheery disposition. She went the extra mile to ensure the service on my car was done in proper fashion. I purchased a vehicle from this dealership in 2013. Since my initial purchase the service that I received from this dealership has been horrible. The lack of customer service extends from the service department all the way to the finance department. Most recently I filed a claim to cancel my gap coverage with the dealership after I sold the vehicle purchased in 2013. I file this claim in December and it is now March and I have not received a check nor any communication from the dealership on this item. When I reached out to Zurich in February, I was told that the dealership failed to submit my claim. They process the claim and is now March and I still haven’t heard anything or received anything in the mail. I’ve left the dealership messages and they failed to return my phone calls. I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle from this dealership If you’re looking for good customer service. And I’m only giving them one star because it’s required otherwise I would be leaving zero stars

Kelly Vafadar is an absolutely wonderful salesperson. Shes known for months that I wanted to be back in a VW, so she kept me in mind and from time to time contacted me with offers they were having until finally there was a deal that worked for me! The receptionist and manager, especially the receptionist, did not say anything rude, they just had an unfriendly demeanor. It seemed like providing customer service was an imposition. The receptionist told me they wouldnt look at my car because I had checked and saved the OBD codes and had cleared the codes. I had the codes and the receptionist told me that is not how it works and I needed to wait for the check engine light to come on again, then asked the manager who was behind her to tell me that was correct. This was my first time at this dealer. I left without having any work done and probably will not be back because of the experience.

We had been traveling north from South Carolina when we noticed an issue with our Volvo 90. Coming from New England we had no idea about this dealership, but found it on-line and pulled in to have the car looked at to be safe. Don and his team put us right through and though no one could precisely diagnose the issue, they went over several possibilities and left us very comfortable that we should be fine for the rest of our trip. And we were. This was top notch service and I only wish we lived more locally so we could deal with Don and his team again. Thanks to all!

The people working here are great and friendly. I was a bit upset that they didnt find my issue the firt time I took my car here, but they made it right and took those charges off my bill for when they found the issue. I was happy to have a loner, however the loner was not the same caliber of car that I had dropped off. That being said I hated the loner. Still overall good experience.

Called on Friday afternoon to schedule a repair of my Volvo S60,got a recording and left a message. Still have not received a call back as of the following Monday evening. I have dealt with them before and have had poor service but unfortunately the only Volvo dealer in Winchester. I have used 5 star Auto Spa for service and have been very happy so far. At least they call you back and do what they say they are going to do. Have always heard how good Don Beyers service was growing up in the Falls Church area but something happened when they moved to Winchester.

Bought a car... The experience was upbeat and professional. Shame on me for not being more attentive, but after I got home I found that I had paid the original price offered and not the price that we had discussed. Im not sure how it happened, but I signed contracts and thats that. I just wished that the process was less confusing.

I needed attention to a check engine light that came on just the day before I needed to return from Winchester, Virginia to Knoxville, Tennessee. Everyone at the dealership, including Service Advisor Larry Copeland, was friendly and gracious, providing to me and to my traveling companion, my dog, a comfortable area in which to wait while they worked efficiently to get me back on the road on the same day as when I consulted them. The diagnosis and resolution of the problem were perfect.
