I have had Mackenzie Day do my hair several times now and I could not be more pleased! She has always done exactly what I have asked for and what I showed her pictures of. I have gotten so many compliments on the cut and color! Tanglez is always very clean and everyone is always so nice! Mackenzie also does fabulous young boy cuts as well!

I had Mackenzie do my hair and I absolutely loved the way it turned out!! I wanted gold highlights and I wanted to be all over blonder and she did exactly that. She also cut off 4 inches and gave my hair so much texture and body which is exactly what I was looking for! I love my hair and Mackenzie!!

I had a consultation for a pastel pink ombré with Mackenzie day. At my consultation I was told everything I asked for was do-able. I showed multiple pictures and explained very throughly what I was trying to go for. 5 hours later and I look like this. Got right in my car and started sobbing. The fact I had to walk out and go into work like this was absolutely embarrassing. I was told at the end of the appointment I was told I had to go back in the next day because my service “wasn’t complete” . My service wasn’t complete, my service was horribly messed up and needed to be corrected. My hair looking the way it did at the end of the 5 hours wasn’t part of the service I asked for. Such a sorry excuse. Not to mention I felt extremely rushed, Mackenzie asked me multiple times what time it was. Now I will explain I did get my hair corrected by Charles. I did not feel comfortable with Mackenzie correcting my hair. Which I still had to pay for. I’m extremely disappointed with the experience here after being told so many good things about tanglez. $350 and I walked out like this.

I started going to Mackenzie Day since the beginning of January and she has been nothing but amazing to me! She always fulfills my needs and does an amazing job every time I get my hair done! she has worked wonders for my hair and I couldn’t ask for someone better :) she gets the job done for sure!! I had let my long, crazy, mousy brown hair get in really bad shape (I had severely neglected it during quarantine). Margaret cut, dyed, highlighted and styled it.... I felt like a new person.... I was Referred to Margaret by some friends that use her we all live in Murrells Inlet SC. I have been here for 4 yrs and have had such a hard time finding someone who could mimic my hair cut and style ...Until now the 1-1/2 drive is well worth it. Margaret was spot on and my hair color and style is back to the way it should be. She is Awesome especially putting up with me in panic mode..LOL! I am 110% satisfied with my results. Dylan Sabo is awesome. I always show him different things and ideas. He always comes through for me. Sometimes, better yet, he tells me when my ideas may not work well with my hair type. Julianna was recommended by the salon as the best person to work with me (59 yrs old). I wanted a more trendy style for my age. I told her that I didn’t want a short cut. I pointed out a stylist and told her that her hair was too short and I didn’t want that. I also stated I didn’t want an asymmetrical bob. I was very clear about me expectations. Julianna did exactly what I didn’t want. The back of my head was undercut towards the crown of my head. There was a thin layer on top of this the remaining hair on the back of my head is almost shaved. It was horrible!! The front isn’t much better. Being this short there is no way to correct it Too short and lacking any real style. When I got home I was in tears!! I was embarrassed to go out in public. My neighbors all agreed that the back was horrible and could understand why I cried. In addition there are places where the hair is longer on one side than the other. Trying to style it is difficult. It will literally take over six months to begin looking normal. I am extremely disappointed that she was recommended by your staff as a perfect fit. I will never go back!!!

My daughter came in to get her hair done. My daughter can be timid and a little shy at time so she doesn’t speak up when needed. She felt her stylist rushed her appointment, felt hostility and uncomfortable like the stylist was upset. The stylist was huffing and puffing and was talking about drama going on in the salon as were other workers and my daughter left unhappy. She asked for reviews so here’s ours. My daughter did however enjoy how welcoming the front was and the girls up there and the clean environment so I will star for that

I have had my hair done by Dylan for the past 5 years and I got my hair done last week, its amazing as always! The space that Tanglez has is amazing and welcoming! The staff was very nice and professional, between setting the appointment to the small talk as you enter their door. I would recommend them to anyone!!

Tanglez has excellent customer service. Very friendly and courteous staff. I got a body perm and it didn’t take very well and they went above and beyond to fix it and make sure I was happy with my hair. I will definitely go back and also recommend to others.

I was going here for one stylist he is amazing!! I have naturally curly hair very hard to find someone that knows how to work with my curls, I found Dylan here he’s the best!! But unfortunately he has since moved to another salon ☹️ But I found where he is and will be going there! It’s not easy to find someone who truly cares about what you need and want. I went to Mackenzie Day and she was amazing, took my damaged reddish hair to a lighter color to get to my blonde Im wanting. She was very sweet and did everything based on what I WANTED, so clean, great environment. And will be going back after 6 weeks for another appointment.

I originally found this place as a walk in. The staff is always super friendly. Elizabeth M cut my hair back in December when I walked in and it was an amazing hair cut. Honestly I never really trusted anyone with my hair before, but Elizabeth changed my views completely. Ive been back 2 times since my walk in and have been 100% satisfied every time! I will be moving to Raleigh in a few months and have already decided that it will be worth the drive to come back to Wilmington just to get a haircut.

So extremely happy with my haircut! Jenny Rojas cut my hair a week ago. Since then, my hair has been a breeze to style. Today was my 1st visit to Tanglez and it was awesome! Brandy was so Amazing! I couldnt of have asked for a better experience. This was my first professional hair color/highlights, and I was a bit nervous, but my stylist made me feel super comfortable and she totally nailed my balayage.Most of the other clients were regulars. I could tell that this business truly cares for its clients. I highly recommend.

Great staff and salon. I showed my stylist a picture out of their own book and told her that’s what I wanted. We explored options and I trusted in her but my end results were ok. Good work, just not what i had originally asked for. Paid $160 plus tip without being totally satisfied

Charles has cut my hair two times now and each time has been amazing from start to finish. He made me feel welcome, gave his honest feedback, and listened to my goals. I walked out with a great new look. The atmosphere of tanglez is great too. Very clean.

Tanglez is the best salon hands down. I started going there while in college and even though I moved to Raleigh, I still make sure to make the trip every few months to my favorite stylist Leshia. Leshia is the only person I trust with my hair enough to say do whatever you want. I have never had a bad style and I will never go anywhere else!

I got a wash, cut and style and Johanna did a wonderful job. She was professional and efficient I was in and out under an hour which as a busy mom I appreciate! I love my new hair cut and will be returning next time!

Candace is the best! After explaining to me that what i wanted would take two or three visits to achieve, she surprised us both and got it SO close to what i wanted after just one. then she was able to fit me in just 2 days later to quickly finish up and get my hair color exactly what i was looking for. I planned on writing my review specifically about Sammie, my hair stylist, but after reading the below review, I would also like to give a shout out to the curly headed red head below. Firstly, I LOVE my hair!! Sammie has not done my hair in probably 10 years, because I moved away, but needless to say she is like a glass of wine, getting better with time! Shes always been talented, but I can tell why she was voted Best Hair Stylest in Wilmington! She did EXACTLY what I asked, plus some additional TLC. The compliments have already started rolling in from my family and friends, which was kind of an eye opener to the lack of compliments before 😂...well besides the usual wow your hair is so long!...now they are saying, wow! Your color is so natural looking! How does your hair look so healthy that long?...OH! And to the two delightful ladies holding down the front desk (this includes the red headed lady)....THANK YOU for treating my little boy with so much patience and kindness!! He had SO much fun with you two and you gave me the ability to enjoy my me time to its fullest! He talked about you two for quite a bit on the ride home! Needless to say, I am extremely hard to please and now writing this novel, because I had one of the best experiences Ive ever had at a salon!! Thanks for the beautiful hair and thanks for going above and beyond! Will be back soon, because now he wants his hair cut there!! 👏🏻

Paying 150$ for hair is completely worth it if the stylist done what you wanted. I even show the stylist multiple photos of what I want. We did a test run, she felt confident. Before we start I even confoco if its achievable. Stylist said yes after the test strips. In the end. I pay 150$ for my exact hair color but now its bleach and damage. So I was offer a free fix but have to be in 5 days, because before I left I told stylist all that was wrong with the hair. Came back a few days later and it still was not fix. Waste of money!But friendly people, not genuine but friendly.

This has been the best experience we have ever had so many smiles and alot of laughs, and this is by far the BEST HAIRCUT I HAVE EVER HAD! Always great service and stylish hair

I went to get my hair done the other day and after further examination of my hair I noticed an uneven hair cut. The girl did not know to even do a proper blowout. And Im not trying to bash the hairstylist all in all. I always heard good things about the salon but I could not let them touch my hair again

I have been to this salon multiple times and exactly half of the times I have been to this salon I have had my hair turned hot pink when I went for rose gold and Ronald McDonald red when I asked for caramel/golden brown. Now they did correct if for me until I was satisfied with my hair color but this required minimum 8 hours spent in the salon, which is a lot of time when you have a newborn and also a lot of treatments that have left my scalp burnt and dried out my hair, I have never been in so much pain. Also after that much work to correct their mistake I shouldnt have had to pay for any of the work at all. To clarify they fixed it for free but had to pay for original botched job. Not impressed when the first people who did my hair are suppose to be professional colorists. I do however recommend Jenny she is very friendly and did a great job fixing my botched job.

I was a Great Clips customer for many years and didnt see any practical reason to go to an upscale salon like Tanglez. It turns out that there is a huge difference in the knowledge, skills, and talent of the stylists. My recommendation: ask for Leisha. I will never go back to a walk-in discount salon again. I just recently moved to Delaware and really miss Tanglez.

I came here last month and had a coupon. I was told by the receptionist when making an appt, I could use the coupon. With my coupon, the brow wax was $5 off and would be $10 total I was told. I came to my appt, and checked in. The woman came out to do my brows and loudly announced how many years it had been since I was last in there in front of the receptionists and customers waiting. This was very rude, unprofessional, and irrelevant. I actually had moved out of town. The rest of the appt went fine. When I went to check out, I was told that the brow wax was $15 instead of the $10 I was told a few days earlier when making the appt. I asked why, and was told the prices had just changed today. Really? So, they were asking $20 regular price for a brow wax. Even though I didnt feel wanted in the place, I tipped generously for the way I was treated and got out. Needless to say, I spent almost twice as much as I normally would (with tip) for this wax. It was nothing special, and my brows grew in twice as fast. I wont be coming back.
