I visited Waxing The City recently and had a great experience. This was my second time going there, and both times I have been very pleased with the services I received. The front desk has always been welcoming and easy to deal with. I schedule online but they are always happy to greet me when I arrive and ask me if I need anything else before I leave. Both times I have gone for waxing, I felt very comfortable and had a great experience overall. They have been super timely on the appointments and take their time to do the service right I feel like. I will definitely be going back in the future.

Had a bikini wax and the very next day there is already stubble. This looks more like I did a poor shave job considering the hair was not only not removed by the root but not even removed well and made to look nice. There are still longer hairs outside of the panty line and no way Id wear a swimsuit like this. Place was clean and looked nice but I wont go again

Oh my!!! So I had an appointment for a Brazilian wax. Now I had receive waxes before at another studio and it was so painful that I started to get up mid-wax. However, Angel is an angel!!! Her techniques are so helpful that you flow right through the waxing process. She has great energy and her ability to sympathize is unmatched! She was so gentle and so kind and made a usually unpleasant experience actually really fun. However, yesterday I saw a woman named Caroline and shes incredible! Definitely recommend if youre new to go see Caroline! Her vibe was super chill and really easy to talk to. Love the girls at this place!

Jasmine is literally the best! She does such an amazing job every time and has revived my eyebrows that were a mess! Everyone there is so nice and professional and it’s a super clean atmosphere .

My Fiancée recently went in for an eyebrow waxing and the girl behind the reception counter didnt know what she was doing. She charged my fiancée twice for a waxing that should have only cost 17.60. Then proceeded to tell her that her money would back her in her account by the end of the day this isnt how you make sure the customer is fully satisfied. Because if the shoe was on the other foot they would want answers to when their money would be back in their account. Fix how yall operate cause this is poor serviceEdit: they fixed the issue

I loved waxing the city! The facility was clean, and the staff was always friendly and helpful. I started my waxing journey with Wilmington’s most gentlest waxer Melanie and tried numerous products that worked wonders for my skin however, Melanie decided to depart. The company of course due to policy would not provide me with any information regarding her relocation but, I found her at Lash on wax off LLC!!

I’ve been getting waxed all over Wilmington and Taylor is hands the best that I’ve ever experienced. From day one she made it the quickest and almost painless wax I’ve ever got. And let’s be real that’s all you can hope for is quick and painless. Also the quality is not skimped over with the speed. Taylor makes you feel extremely comfortable and before you know it you’re done. If you get an area waxed for the first time you get 50% so try any area you’ve been thinking getting waxed.

Melanie is the best! She is a perfectionist and is always honest with me - she won’t perform a service if she won’t be able to do the job right. (I.e. she’ll tell me if it’s too soon to wax)

Ive been getting waxed for 10+ years, all over the country... last week I had a Brazilian by Angel. She is a gem! She was fasy but thorough, maintaining professionalism but also being very personal able, easy to talk to so I could convey my expectations or if I felt the wax was too hot(which it wasnt, i was close to my cycle date which makes me more sensitive, and forgot it was near as she predicted, like a pro!). She was also able to recommend this great exfoliating roller which has been amazing so far, btw! I will for sure be rebooking with again next time. Also fun fact, lots of times esthetician or wax techs dont bother to get all the access wax off so errands after can be... sticky. Amgel.made sure she got all the access wax. I never realized how much better it could get! Thank you Angel!

Ali was super professional, friendly, and really good at her job. I was skeptical to get my eyebrows done as a male but she cleaned them up and kept them looking good without looking sculpted. The whole staff was friendly and welcoming. 5 stars all around

Kandice was my cerologist and she was fabulous! Very down to earth and I felt that she listened to me blabber about how picky I am with my brows very patiently. AFTER listening and BEFORE starting my brows, she explained to me what/how she would shape them which made me feel understood and valued. Thank you Kandice for being patient, helpful, and taking care of my caterpillars :)Front desk staff was super friendly and knowledgeable- welcoming and I didnt feel like an inconvenience or rushed when trying to schedule my services and asking about other services.I also joined their Club Orange loyalty program because this staff was welcoming and the service spectacular!

Beware! They hire right out of school & seems like they have zero training. Very high turnover rate. They burnt my face while waxing. Never again!

Waxing the City Wilmington is phenomenal. Ive been there 3 times, and Ive never been unhappy with any facet of the service they provide. Dont everyone jump to her at once, but Taylor is an amazing cerologist! When I see her its like Im just getting waxed by an old friend thats easy to reconnect with. The facility is clean and the pricing is excellent in my opinion.

Honestly, the promotion and location got me in the door, but I was not disappointed! Melanie was wonderful and made me feel super comfortable and paid close attention to detail. Disclaimer: Ive been getting waxed for almost 10 years, so I am not a stranger to the process nor am I shy about any of it. I asked lots of curious questions and she answered me with informative info (while multi-tasking!). This was the least painful wax Ive ever had. I like the natural skin care options in the store that are wax-related, but can really be used for other things too. Clean store, modern, friendly. Would definitely recommend!

I have had great experiences here. Waxing for me is usually painful or slightly painful but since I started going here it has been practically painless. The staff make you feel very comfortable and are super nice!

My opinion of this place has completely changed since Mel and Lauren left. It was great, Mel did exceptional work and was the softest waxer I’ve ever had (even though that’s crazy to think!) Lauren was always so professional and made sure appointments were kept in order and rescheduling and requesting people was such a breeze! When they left I tried to be understanding and work with a new person and I heard Ali was pretty good. That was probably about 3 weeks ago..I have been trying to get an appointment with her yet it keeps being changed. The first time was my request since I only wanted to go to her. The 2nd time I showed up for the appointment I had confirmed was with her and specified I only wanted to see her. They had changed my appointment to someone who had just started without calling me or giving me any sort of heads up. I rescheduled my appointment yet again to a week later to specifically have Ali yet here I am being told day of that they had to cancel my appointment. No attempt to reschedule or explain. I have tried to be understanding and work with them yet this is kind of unreasonable. Thankfully I have found Mels new place and I will be going back to someone who does and amazing job and doesn’t ruin your appointments. The only good thing this place has in my memories is introducing me to her and the work she does.

Went in today for the first time and had a great experience! Lauren, at the front desk, was so sweet and helpful and explained their membership program in detail but wasn’t too pushy like other places that try to sell you on packages. Suzette is AMAZING. If you need a regular waxer then she’s your girl. She is quick and efficient which makes the whole process a lot less painful. She always makes my brows look perfectly groomed. I will definitely be returning to Waxing the City!

Omg! Best place for waxing and lashes in town. I’m brazilian so I know what I’m talking about when I say you need go see Camille! She is the best! I literally looked everywhere for someone that would do a good brazilian and I finally found her. They have a great membership thing that you pay monthly and you get 20% discount on your waxing every time! They are super super clean. I definitely recommend it. I just got also my lashes lifted by Camille and again she is amazing! For all waxing and lashes things go see her!

Whats not to love about having Waxing the City right next to where I work! I went in and got an eyelash tint and Melanie did such an amazing job. It lasted for what felt like forever. I can take a short trip next door from work for all my waxing & beauty needs. I highly suggest visiting. The front desk staff, Devin, was exceptional. I just had the best Brazilian ever. Melanie truly is amazing. There is definitely a reason she is called Wilmingtons gentle waxer. I will always follow her for my personal waxing needs.Picture this: You walk in, youre greeted by front desk and asked to fill out paperwork. As soon as youve completed it Melanie comes to take you back. You enter the room, and she verifies the service. After verification she gives you privacy to undress, and you are given a disposable cloth to cover yourself with. Melanie next walks you though each step of the wax, while also genuinely talking to you. Before you realize it the service is completed. And it was no where near as bad as you anticipated.If and when you come check out waxing the city, I highly recommend Melanie. If you want your service to be thorough and as pain free as possible!

Back in May, I had feared getting a Brazilian for my wedding and honeymoon but Melanie is THE BEST and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I went back to get another one because hey its the summer and while waiting for Mel, Lauren helped me pick out some awesome smelling exfoliants! If I wasnt moving out of town I would very much become a regular here. These girls are AWESOME!
