I absolutely love Stokes garage. I had to get a nice amount of work done on my car and me being a female sometimes I feel like certain mechanics try to get over and overcharge me, but not at Stokes. Stokes actually took time and called a manufacturer to replace my fuel pump so that I did not have to pay an extra $300 dollars! I will refer all my family and friends to this mechanic and I hope you try them out, you will not be disappointed. They stand behind their work and treat you like part of the family. Best experience I have had with a mechanic.

Great service! The owner was very helpful and communicated issues as soon as they arose. I didnt have a ride when my car had to be worked on, so the owner drove me to where I needed to be for the day. Very helpful and I plan I going back for routine/other maintenance.

I heard about Stokes Garage through word-of-mouth, and everything was positive. So I took a chance and had them work on my car. Any concerns I had were gone by the time I walked out the door to leave my car with them. Their service and price were well in-line, and I was VERY pleased afterward. I would not hesitate to use them again.

I am absolutely satisfied with the wonderful professional service I received at Stokes. I was called prior to any repairs being made and prices were told to me right up front. Bobby Stokes made several phone calls to me as different problems arose with my vehicle and was very honest as to whether the repairs needed to be made immediately or could wait. My family and I will be using Stokes Garage from now on. I was even impressed when I came back to pick up my car with my son, who is 8, the mechanic took time out of his busy schedule to give him a tour of the garage which was super special to him! I have known Bob Stokes for more than forty years so I might be a bit biased.....but I can say without exaggeration that he is an excellent mechanic, he is scrupulously honest, and his expertise does not inflate his hourly rate. We own a twelve year old Audi that requires a skilled touch, and his is the only shop to which we will take the car.I recommend his services highly.

I found Bob Stokes a couple of years ago and wish I had found him sooner! I had to call him the other day with a question and he was extremely helpful. He even called me back later that day to check on how my car was driving. He provides a level of service I have not found anywhere else. I feel that Bob is honest and does his best to save his customers as much money as possible. He gives me his opinion and tells me what he thinks would be best for my car and my wallet! Bob provides excellent service and when I leave my car with Bob Stokes I feel confident that I am driving away in a safe vehicle.

I found Stokes Garage on the web. I visited Bob before bringing my truck over. I was comfortable with him immediately. He had dealt with the problem I was having with my diesel truck before. We were on our way to Indian River Delaware from Harrisburg, PA when our 2000 class C motor home experienced a major brake problem. My Good Sam road service assistance contacted Stokes Garage and said we would be bringing in our motor home via a tow service. Even though it took us quite some time to get to the Stokes Garage, and it was late in the day, Bob Stokes made time to look at our vehicle. With the extent of the repair and parts needed our motor home would not be ready until the next day. Mr. Stokes and his staff went out of their way to get us a rental car and told us where to find the best lodging and restaurants in the area. Mr. Stokes contacted us that evening to see if we got good lodging. All through the repair process he kept us informed about the problem and all costs involved prior to doing the repairs. Once back on the road in our motorhome, Bob followed up to see if all was going well. Throughout the whole experience I have never been so impressed with the professional service we received from Bob Stokes and his entire staff. I only wish he was located in my home area. I would highly recommend him to anyone traveling in an RV and needing assistance in the Wilmington, DE area.

I pulled in on a rainy day with a sagging door and water seeping into my backseat. I didn’t catch his name, but one the attendees worked on my door for 45 minutes and was able fix it! I was very greatful as it was supposed to rain for the next few days. Excellent service! Thank you!

Bob and his staff at Stokes are courteous,competent,and honest. They have helped me keep my Diesel Jetta running efficiently.I have been extremely please with all the repairs on my car. Bob goes out of his way for his customer. If he can save you money he will. His prices are more than far. He is aways available to answer questions and explain his repairs. I was referred to Stokes from a national chain garage as I needed engine work done they would not do. Im very glad they, the service I received from Bob and Andy was excellent. As someone who works in customer service, Bob and Andy are a shining example of excellent customer service. Stokes Garage kept me informed of their progress, their price quotes were accurate and honest, and their attitude is amazing. They have a sign in their office from their 50th anniversary, you dont stay in business for that long without being a) honest with your customers and b) setting and exceeding every expectation you give your customers. That chain garage doesnt know it, but Ill only be going to Stokes now.

Stokes auto shop is a life saver. When the car wouldn’t start up for 2 days we called them. Unfortunately, we had no way to get the car there but Andy was nice enough to send some of his guys to come and get the disabled car. Turns out that It was the starter. We figured that’s what it was too. I even called a few other repair shops before I called Stokes and they all quoted me more than what Andy had quoted me. So I said to myself that the feedback looks good so I guess I’ll give Stokes a try. It didn’t even take that long for the mechanics to fix it either. They even noticed a couple of other things that needed repaired on her too. The guy at the front desk, I can’t think of his name right now but he said not to worry about the price of repair for some of the other car’s issues because the car’s manufacturer should cover the issue for free. So the honest guy didn’t try to make me pay for something he knew would already be covered by the car dealer. Now how many car mechanics do y’all know that is straight up honest like he was?My kid is very happy she started the car up and put a big smile on her face and said WOW! Then she said “mom Stokes is going to be our mechanic incase anything else goes wrong” and I smiled. So even a minor sensed that they are experts. We’re happy and the car is happy too, she’s finally running well again.Thank You to all the friendly staff at Stokes. I never met such friendly staff that actually took a few seconds out of their day to come out and say hello to us when we got there to pick up the car.Keep up the excellent work. A++

Had a problem with my EGR valve in a vehicle with over 150k miles on it. I had 30 days to fix the problem, or my car wasnt going to pass inspection in Delware.Bob Stokes talked with me about it a little bit, got inside the vehicle and cleaned it out until the check-engine light went off. I drove off and... the light comes back on.I take it back to Bob and hes really apologetic (though he couldnt have known: he drove it over 60 miles with my permission to make sure the light wouldnt come back on). When I brought it back it took them less than a day to fix the problem.In all of my experience with other mechanics, Ive never had a garage as fast, courteous, and professional as Stokes.A quick tip: directions to the place are not straightforward. The best way Ive found is to head north on Western Ave. off of DE-2.

This review is for the wonderful woman who answered the phone on 4/2/14.I had a conversation with the owner and was trying to reach him again. The woman I spoke with cut me off, and stated that I never had a conversation with the owner.DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW RIDICULOUS THAT SOUNDS????Reading the other reviews I can see that Bob is a wonderful business owner. To bad the gem I talked to wasnt.

I had a serious gas leak problem with my 2077 motorhome. Bob and Andy at Stokes Garage fix it professionally and got me back on the road home quickly. There prices are more than fair and I havent had another problem with the motorhome since coming home. I would recommend Stokes Garage to anyone with a mechanical problem. They fix it right and fix it fast. Good people.

This is the mechanic I will go to from now on. Ive met my share of ridiculously pricey to downright dodgy mechanics, and basically had it. PepBoys, NTB and Maineke, all were pricey and I was never happy with the reliability of their service either. Tried some local no-name guys and regretted big time. So this time I decided to check reviews on multiple sites and this place seemed to have a good review on consensus. I met Andy Stokes, probably the owner, he is a great guy. Honest and conscientious. Did only what he felt was absolutely necessary, kept me generally well informed. Equally importantly, he was quick. I am leaving a review in the hope that someone else benefits.

Low prices, awsome staff, fast service

My father Paul McDannell recently had work done at Stokes garage. What we thought was a major tranmission problem turned out to be a lesser cost solenoid malfuction. Bob Stokes took the time to road test and diagnose the problem. We appreciate all his efforts and would highly recommend anyone to use their services.
