I’ve lived here for four years. I love the size of the apartment and location but my biggest complaint is the NOISE that comes through the walls/floors! For whatever reason, they built these apartments with the master bedrooms backed up to one another. I can hear my neighbor watch tv in their bedroom, blow their nose and snore at night from my bed. Now that they’ve installed hardwood floors in some apartments, I can not only hear, but also FEEL every footstep the family who lives above me takes. My whole bedroom shakes when they walk. I’ve lived in multiple apartments before and this is probably the worst floor to floor noise I’ve experienced. There’s not much anyone can do so I just live with it and try to find ways to sleep through the night. Other than the thin walls and floors I love the apartment, the grounds are well-kept and the people are generally friendly. The apartment space to price ratio is good and my rent has increased only once in the time I decided on 3 stars because I feel the good does outweigh the bad and the current management has nothing to do with my issues. I’ve really only had one interaction with them but they seem efficient and care about the property. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Pretty decent. The prices are good, area is good. Its a smoke friendly apartment, so even though im not a smoker I smell cigarettes coming from my laundry room, but if I keep the door closed its good. Maintenance is quick, but the fixes for my toilet paper holder and dripping faucet have only been temporary fixes, and im still having issues. The apartment size is very good for the price though, and the fixtures are good, and theres a dishwasher. Some good, some bad, but decent overall. Renewed my lease.
Elizabeth was great on the apartment tour! Gave me so much important information and answered every question i had!
Funny but completely true story. My daughter applied for an apartment lease here. The staff contacted me for more financial info. They said that I would need to prove my income was, I think 4 times the monthly rent payment. They wanted me to send a copy of my tax returns since I am self employed. I have been self employed since 1991, same profession. I told the lady on the phone that instead of all that, How about I send you a Certified bank check for the entire year of rent? I was informed by her they could not do that. She said they could only accept 3 months of rent at a time. I said okay, Ill send that. She say whoa daddy (not an exact quote), we cant do that either. Again, me with the why not. Your tax return must show 4 times the rent was the reply. Cash in hand offer refused. Since a 1040 shows history of income and is not a projector for the coming year, I was baffled. With the current economy and the anyones guess what the future holds I was and am completely stumped by this titan of business approach. I have been to the far side of the world, visited 15 foreign countries and America is still the only country I have ever had to beg people to take their own currency. I guess in this business titans world, the form didnt have a box to check for that so it cant be done, even with guaranteed funds. Running across movers and shakers like this is what helps me get up in the morning.
I moved here after living at Birchwood Park for 10 years. This place is a bit more expensive but 10x better for peace of mind. I live in a renovated apartment with plank floors, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops, and I love the look.Pros: Onsite gym, so you cant make excuses for not working out. Pretty grounds. Walking/running trail around the complex. Staff has always been responsive and pleasant. This is a weird one, but my bathroom is the size of a regular room, which I didnt know I would love. Screened balconies so you can leave your balcony door open at night and not worry about mosquitoes. Plenty of parking. Theres a pool which I have never used, but looks nice. Community outdoor grills, both charcoal and gas (which I have used) and are awesome.Cons: Thin walls. I can sometimes hear my neighbors making dinner when Im making my own dinner, which is not ideal. That being said, my bedroom walls are on the outside of the building and not connected to any other apartment and Ive never had trouble sleeping.I havent seen the non-renovated apartments here, so I cant comment on them. The renovated 1 bed units are perfect for a middle class single person. Its nice to wake up in a place that you like.
It’s really not worth the rent now. They painted over the cabinets and it’s peeling, the staff rarely gets back to you when you have an issue. It’s a nice location but too small to be paying almost $1000 for the “newly renovated” one bedrooms. The maintenance is always good, I’ll give them that, but the office staff is just not helpful and not worth the new rent.
The apartment is nice and well worth the money. The office staff has been top notch since I have moved in. The maintenance staff is quite the joke though. They dont know what they are doing. I have had them out 6 times trying to fix an issue and it is still yet to be resolved. I would like to continue living here beyond my lease but with a maintenance staff like this I may think twice about it. The ground are kept nice and mostly clean. Have seen a few drug needles and random dog poop around but thats not the complexes fault.I was part of the 3rd floor evictions. I honestly think the staff handled it really well. Tracy and Jessica both had conversations with me and were always honest with me about what was going on. Even though I wont be returning to the complex due to buying a house, I have sent quite a few people there to try and rent from them. Thanks for everything you all have done!
Ive lived here for almost 4 years and I just wanted to mention how much work the staff puts in to helping the residents and making sure the community areas stay clean and up to date! The main office is always great about answering questions and being as helpful as possible. I love all the parties and events they throw, even though I cant always make them. Special shout out to the maintenance man Matt who spent extra time making sure my toilet (which was running nonstop) was fully fixed and not running when it shouldnt have been, and for trouble shooting my freezer door that wouldnt stay shut. I look forward to spending more years here.
We’ve lived here for a year and just re-signed for another because we love it here. All of the amenities are clean, modern, and up to date. Any maintenance issues we’ve had were taken care of usually on the same day. The office staff are super nice and have kid friendly events. -Megan Burk
(One week update) my fiancé and I have been here for a week. The staff was very helpful getting us settled in, especially since we were from out of state. The maintenance staff is excellent so far it took less than 12 hours for them to come and fix a couple of things we noticed after moving in. Matt was the maintenance tech. He was even kind enough to leave us a spare roll of paper towels because he got water on the half a roll that we had out. Our cat also went missing today which is what inspired this review. The women in the office made and put up posters within 5 min of me notifying them of the situation. Overall our apartment is clean, quiet, and our neighbors are nice and welcoming. I would recommend this community. Thank you still meadow village for making us feel at home.
Great space for the rental price. Interior is definitely outdated, but clean. The grounds are beautiful, lots of trees and is well lit at night. Nice pool. Wish there was some sort of community space indoors that we could use for work, grabbing a coffee, etc. The only real problem weve had is with trying to get in touch with the staff. If you call after hours, you get redirected to some random helpline that isnt helpful AT ALL. Other than that, weve enjoyed our time here.
I love this place! I have lived here for about two years. Great office staff, great community, and the grounds are always so lovely, whether its the trees or the flowers.
WE have lived in this apartment complex going on 3 years. We moved into Wilmington in 2014 after owning a house for 19 years. This is the second apartment complex we have lived in. It by far the BEST!! The Management staff are really nice and really glad to see you with smiling faces every time you walk in. The chorizema that is felt when you walk in the door is unbelievable. They listen and want to correct any problem or situation that is under their control with enthusiasm. The landscaper that they contract with keep the grass mowed and shrubs trimmed. There is a walk way that is graveled that goes all the way around the prosperity. Its about 1 mile and makes it real nice for walking and walking your dog. They have 2 picnic areas with big charcoal grilling units. There is a real nice area set up for children to play with slides and swings. The fitness center has tread mills, 2 different bikes, and weight area. The pool is salt water pool. The community is quiet and most all of the residents are real friendly. They have community watch meetings. In all the time I have been here I know of no unsafe activity and I feel safe walking anywhere at night. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR.
Been here for about 4 years love it love the staff especially Jess who has been here from the beginning and showed us where we are living today.Have we had matinence issues sure have they fixed them always are they human and do they have a lot of other things going on at once, yes so people that have and attitude because they cant jump the second you have an issue need to lay off. We love the place and what they have done with the grounds.
Matt one of the maintenance techs is a super friendly guy, very professional, and attentive to anything needing repair. This is a nice community to live in with a mixed population, a nice walking trail, a pool the kids love, and a newer gym and play area.
Erica was nothing but helpful to myself and my roommate in helping us to discuss our move in options over a year ago. We decided on an 18 month lease to lower our rent price a bit which is an awesome option and I am grateful we did! I am typically not someone to post reviews but, after reading the reviews regarding maintenance & cleanliness of the grounds I felt it necessary to do so. Maintenance is constantly available, I dont hesitate to ask the a question when I see them out and about if I have one & they are ALWAYS willing to help. Being that this is a pet friendly community, it is only NORMAL that you will see some dog waste as not everyone is a responsible pet owner but, never once have I seen anything out of the ordinary, the lawn and landscaping is well maintained and everything is BEYOND clean! I would definitely recommend & will be looking into leasing a separate unit with boyfriend in June!
If there was only an option for negative stars. Any maintenance issue is like pulling teeth with the office staff, wasps nests next to my door, water damage, things that need replacing, they just have horrible attitudes. Its a trashy place, Id see people casing apartments and have to call police myself because the staff doesnt care. My car got broken into. One of my neighbors tried my door and I happened to be inside when he did, it was terrifying. They did nothing about it. The staff are just criminals. Im a good renter. I pay on time and mind my own business. I trust my rental company to give me correct information, they are the experts. Still meadow staff either lies or just ignorantly misinforms renters, to everyones inconvenience. I would not recommend this place.
This is a very good place to live. The grounds are well-kept, the staff is great. The pool, gym and playground are clean and the area is well lighted at night.
This is my eighth year as a tenant at Still Meadow Village, and I have nothing but great things to say about my experience! The staff has always been friendly and helpful, the maintenance crew has always been prompt, and their rates have always been very reasonable. Over the years, management has been upgrading the community, including the playground, refurbished walking trail, and new landscaping. The fitness center has a nice selection of workout equipment and is well-maintained. Ive also noticed some upgrades/face lifts to the units themselves with new lighting fixtures and flooring. Overall, its been a safe community with a fantastic location. I just signed another 18-month lease renewal because I couldnt ask for a better place to call home!
I just got off the phone with still meadows they took me off of the waitlist! I have been on the waitlist since March and had to change my number so I called them TWICE to make sure they had the new one. They said they called the old one on May 7th to offer an apartment and it did not go through. She read me back the OLD NUMBER. I made sure they had the new one. They took me off the list and gave my would be apartment to someone else. I was told I was behind 1 person for an apartment and that because I would take first or second floor that gave me better odds that an apartment would open up. This is my DREAM apartment and they SCREWED ME! THIS WAS THE ONLY APARTMENT I WANTED AND NOW I AM FRANTIC TO FIND ANOTHER ONE. I AM DISGUSTED AND IN TEARS!
Office staff is awesome, grounds are beautiful.
Nice apartment. Good location. But my experience with the staff has been awful. I have had problems with my upstairs neighbors being unreasonably noisy since the first month I moved in and the staff, Jessica Stranger to be specific, has chosen to be extremely unprofessional and completely ignore the last few emails I have sent addressing the issue. I will not be renewing my lease and I will most certainly not be recommending this complex to anyone I know.
Every top floor resident and some second and third floor residents of every building in Still Meadow was given three days to move after supposed hurricane damage. They waited until almost a month after the hurricane to evict us. They did not give anyone free moving help, they did not give us back the five whole days rent we were there in October, and they promised to give us back our security deposit and prorated rent within ten days of moving out. Today is the NINTH business day, and the ELEVENTH total day, and there is no rent to be seen. I have emailed with no response, and called three times with no answer. Theyve already raised the rent for future tenants by at least $40/month. They handled this extremely unprofessionally and the rent is now not worth what you get living there.
Having an emotional support animal, I was required to provide paperwork from the vet, my doctor, and their “reasonable accommodation” before the app could be approved. We worked with Katie from the beginning and she assured me as long as that was all turned in before move in, there were no issues. I get an email from Jessica advising me that this paperwork must be turned in within the next 24 hours or my app would be denied. I explained what her coworker said and she stated, “I’m sorry you FEEL you have been given misinformation, but...” I had an apt the following week with my dr, I couldn’t just walk into the office and demand her sign papers.I wanted to do a walk through prior to the day I moved in due to past experiences. I set it up with Katie for 3 days prior to move in. She then emailed me saying my apt wasn’t ready and I couldn’t see it beforehand. THEN HURRICANE FLO. 5 days before move in, I was informed all move ins were postponed until further notice! Our house was already packed and the place we were living expected us to be out by a certain date. I responded to the email mentioning that if our move in day couldn’t be moved up a few days, I needed all my money back so I could find somewhere else to live. A day later, the property manager, Terry (accidentally called her the office manager and she quickly corrected me “for your information I’m the PROPERTY manager) called me saying she was refunding all fees paid due to the inconvenience. She was unnecessarily aggressive claiming we were being unprofessional and abusive and that she didn’t want us as tenants, so I handed the phone to my husband to finish the conversation. He actually had to use HIS customer service skills to de-escalate HER because of how loudly she was yelling over him. She even hung up on him!! The next day I called for something unrelated, Jessica said she’d send it right over and “by the way, Terry was waiting for your husband to call back yesterday and he never did.” Apparently, Terry had no recollection of the conversation that took place the day prior and argued with my husband about it for 5 minutes! Who’s unprofessional?!Jessica emailed me after the storm about damage to the building of my apt but they were unsure of exact damage to my place. I thanked her for keeping me updated and that I looked forward to further communications regarding my move. An entire week went by and I heard nothing. The following Monday we went to SMV and Terry told my husband she left a voicemail informing us our apartment was damaged and needed major repairs so we weren’t going to be able to move in. Okay, 1, neither of us received a call or a voicemail from anyone in that office and 2, this was SUPER important so an email or a second attempt to reach us should have occurred. They never tried calling us. Part of the conversation in the office with Terry that day was about a refund that we would get for all the fees paid due to us not being able to move in at all. An entire month later we go to a check for the deposit, no other fees. This is not what was agreed upon!My advice to anyone looking at living here, keep records of every single detail of every convo you have with everyone in the office. Seems they do not communicate with one another and misinformation is common. They complain about the amount of emails they receive yet this was their ONLY way of communicating with me. Talk to them like you would a toddler because the minute you raise any concern or voice the fact that you’re upset about something, you will get yelled at. Jessica and especially Terry are beyond rude and do not need to be working in any type of customer service position until they learn some skills. Terry seems to have amnesia because she doesn’t remember the conversations you have with her and will call you a liar to your face. She is manipulative and will make it seems as if you are being abusive to her even if you’re just expressing your frustration. Katie isn’t rude to your face, she will just ignore your emails and pass them on to her coworkers so she can avoid you.
Management of still meadow left their apartment shortly after everyone was able to return to apartments from hurricane Florence. At which point, sept 22nd letters were taped to everyone’s door to state there was mold mitigation work to be done. All residents were to pay rent First week of October . October 5th as of 5pm letters were taped to everyone’s door on third floor and some of second floor as well as first floors they had to evacuate by the 9th, and there rent was to be prorated after the ninth for the rest of the month but no one will get there deposit or proration back for at least 10 days. Those who have no money because of just paying rent, were then supposed to come up with first and last months rent, deposit etc... for a new place, if one was even available. It is very unfortunaate that management knew what was going on, moved out, said it was still safe. However, if that was the case, so many people were to evacuate due to unsafe conditions just 2 weeks later. if the apartment(s) that were available by management leaving and another apartment in a another building used by maintenance equipment, they were never given in opportunity to the thousands of residents in Wilmington looking for a place to live. A post was submitted on the app next door digest (monkey junction) to indulge the same review I am posting here. The facility manager gave a response on the app for her actions within minutes of joining the app and minutes of the post entered online. The following day, oct. 10th, as my wife and I, another couple (tenants), another tenant we don’t know, and a government employee went into the office to turn our keys in. At that exact time the assistant manager got up to get the facility manager to specifically come out and attack myself about putting the situation on social media. As my wife insisted we were trying to leave, as the two management still yelling at us, about there decision to leave after the hurricane passed. One of the tenants was explaining they just lost there job due to being sick from the mold debris and moving. No sympathy was given by management, three sets of tenants becoming homeless and they decided to retaliate. Very unprofessional, unethical, disrespectful, threatening environment all around. All of this was with 3 sets of tenants in the office and government employee who tried to intervene and cctv footage. There are several posts between nextdoor digest, review sites, redddit, google, that have stated for the last few years of reviews the two management at still meadow has been very unreliable. At a horrible time for hundreds of hurricane victims, this is proof how you will be treated unless you are personal friends. Kids book bags, supplies, have damage to them, and we don’t want them to transfer over contaminants to the schools. No sympathy or resources to give their community, for their children, still meadow took everyone rent. We would like to personally thank each and everyone of you who have donated supplies to the schools for kids who have been immediately displaced. One lady from some church came to our sons school to drop off a book bag to our son and other supplies to kids. Not that we can’t afford it, but we were in the middle of evacuation. That gesture, one random act of kindness just melted my heart, my sons and wife’s. I would like to personally thank you whoever you are. There are a lot of positive people out here in Wilmington community, and those 10% who are not. Actions speak louder than words, thank you to all of those who came from all over the states to help, contractors, Red Cross, fema, and the VA personnel, as well as anyone I’m missing. The maintenance staff is great, as well as front desk lady, management at still meadow is very unethical. If pictures could be posted of reviews from others and nextdoor digest app and of emails sent to management about issues and safety with no response, we would.
This place is terrible - staff is RUDE and inept. Still havent fixed many problems including the ROACHES!!
If I could give this place less than one star, I would. I have too many examples of how awful the staff is to explain on this one review. They are not helpful with any problems you may have, they are rude when it inconveniences them to DO THEIR JOB, and sometimes they just completely ignore you. They are unprofessional in every way.
Unhelpful staff, constant maintenance issues and no one ever knows whats going on between maintenance and front desk. Inconsistent in information they give tenants. This is the last place I would look to live.
We love our new home.
Wonderful place to live and a great community
The staff bends over backwards for you. Awesome!
