Utopia is always an amazing experience. I get my curly cut from my girl Lauren, she’s the best. The curly assistants are also amazing, they walk you thru the whole process and answer all of your questions. The place is nice and clean. I always leave feeling brand new.

This was the absolute best hair experience I have ever had. I felt so welcome and comfortable from the moment I walked in. Every member of the staff is so attentive and welcoming. They make you feel so special. I waited less than five minutes and my stylist Nubia was amazing. She is such a humble, down to earth and genuine person. She gave me the EXACT cut I wanted with just showing her a picture once. She truly knows what she is doing and does a great job. She listened to all my concerns and what exactly I was looking for and she really delivered. She really goes out of her way to make you feel amazing, everyone there does. I received so much information about how to care for my hair from everyone I interacted with. This is truly such a wonderful place, this is the only place I will ever get my hair done again. I will be recommending this place to everyone!

Very nice experience. It is definitely a curly hair salon. They did a haircut and were very honest about what I needed. They did offer their products, but you do not have to buy them, and I explained what I already used and they were able to tell me what I can keep using and what was too heavy. She answered all my questions and even gave me some tips. It looks shorter than what I thought but my hair looks super healthy and with a good shape. It took the nervousness out of going to get a haircut.

I honestly did not want to post this review, but after not hearing back from the salon for over a week after honestly answering their survey, I decided to post something just to help other people avoid this same experience. Although everyone was really nice at the salon, and I had virtually no wait time, Nubia (the owner) cut off way too much of my hair which was unexpected. I told her I wanted to retain my length and just increase volume. I knew she would have to cut at least an inch since I was due for a trim, but she cut off about SEVEN INCHES of my hair. It also looked pretty bad after it was styled (because of the length) so I had to go home and re-wash and style it myself. At that point I noticed several really long strands of hair that just hadnt been cut for some reason. So I had to cut them myself because my hair was (and still is) uneven. I will have to cut it again when it grows out a little more so that it doesnt look uneven. It took me so long to grow out my hair after all the damage I had from using DevaCurl, and now my hair is so short I can barely fit it into a ponytail. It was just a very disappointing experience because I was so excited about coming to this salon based on the before and after pics on Instagram. It was also very expensive. I agreed to buy products without really seeing how bad my hair looked and now Im honestly afraid to use them because I was so disappointed with the cut that Im not sure the products will really work either. I read the bad reviews and didnt believe them...but they were right. Please listen to them. If you want a drastic short cut, or if your hair grows back super quick, then maybe you can take the risk. But it took a long time for my hair to grow out. My hair was my thing...and now its definitely not.

My first time ever visiting this salon and all I have to say is WOW! Amazing experience from start to finish. As a curly girl, it can be hard to trust a stylist to truly execute your vision & Sahrita went above and beyond. They have a for life customer. My experience at Utopia Salon was amazing. Nubia did my cut and she was amazing. She created an amazing cut to accentuate my curl type and my hair color. Alejandra washed and styled my hair and she did an amazing job. She explained every step she did, and also recommended great products that I can use to achieve the same results at home. This was my first Rezo cut- I scheduled an appointment online and when I got to the NJ location I was informed I was at the wrong salon and was actually suppose to have my appointment in the NY salon (absolutely my fault). Thankfully they were nice enough to not only get my deposit back but to find me another stylist to take me last minute. Alyssa was super nice and knowledgeable about what to do with my hair and not only gave me an amazing curly cut but gave me advice on the best way to style my hair and what kind of products would work for my hair texture. Forever grateful for all of their help and I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone who is trying to find a good place to cut their curly hair.

Ms. Nubia is truly a work of art! I drove 2+ hrs to have a RëzoCut by her. She explained her technique and made me feel fabulous! Her staff is on point! You see them hustling to ensure the salon is clean at all times and everyone is taken care of. After my cut, my stylist was Evelyn. Let me tell you, she was so professional, friendly, patience with all the questions I was asking and really treated my curls in a gentle way. This was my second time at this location, and I’ll be back again in 10 weeks for a B3 treatment. Also, I’m in love with the shape of my cut/curls. I have to admit, it is not cheap, but the cut I need is only twice a year, so I’d say it’s worth it!

I love the results and I love that all of my questions were answered and I was given really great tips that I can use at home to keep my hair healthy and strong. I was referred here by two separate people that don’t know each other. For reference I have long very curly hair and have had really bad experiences at other salons so I’m always apprehensive to try a new place. I desperately needed a cut called hoping to her an appointment ASAP but was advised there would likely be a wait before I could score an appointment. I got lucky snagged a cancellation. Salon is clean and pretty. Front desk staff is warm and welcoming. My rezo cut and styling was done by Irianna. She was very friendly and checked in often to make sure I was comfortable. Aside from her great demeanor she’s obviously knowledgeable when it comes to curls, cutting, caring for, products. Will definitely return. So happy I took a chance and tried this salon !!!

It’s difficult to found people who are comfortable cutting 4c natural hair. Not only was Sahrita comfortable cutting my hair but she it in without blowing it out first. She listened to how I like to wear my hair and cut it based on my hair pattern. She also educated me throughout the process. I recommend anyone who has kinky curly hair to definitely ask for Sahrita. You won’t be disappointed.

I have long thick hair that was fairly straight growing up, got wavy as I got older and curly after my pregnancy. After doing nothing during the pandemic, it was a frizzy mess. I had no idea how to care for it. Nubia gave me a beautiful cut, kept the length, took out the weight. Paola gave a me a wash and style - explained every single step including showing me how much product and which ones would work best for me (gel, no creams). She also showed me exactly how to towel, air, and hot dry it with a diffuser, and how to put in styling product. She answered questions about how to start a daily routine, a weekly routine, and a monthly wash routine. She also told me exactly how to care for my hair during an upcoming beach trip. She’s great! The salon is fantastic! If you know what you’re doing and like your hair already, you might find the salon overkill and pricey. I think it was worth every penny I paid!

She explained every decision she made for my hair, she clarified what I wanted, and she gave me suggestions to try at home. I only need a trim every 4 months apparently, but omg, I cant wait to go back to her! Very amazing experience; worth the money and the appointment waiting.

I waited a month and a half to post this. I got my hair cut April 2nd. The salon was nice and staff was extremely friendly. I went in for a bangs and face framing layers. Nubia said the hair was longer in the front and she was going to make the front match the back. She proceeded to cut 3-4 inches off the back. And did not cut bangs I was in tears for half of the styling process. Stylist Honey tried her best to make me feel better. Nubia came back over to try to fix my hair, but overall I left with the opposite of what I asked for. There were several woman who had beautiful haircuts I do not understand why I did not get what I asked for. Please go somewhere else it’s not worth the risk.

It is so hard to get a good haircut for curly hair but Nubia did not disappoint! I sucked up my trepidation and drove from Queens to Jersey and saw the best! My hair was choppy and disjointed. My ends were scraggly. Nubia took one look and knew exactly what I needed. She cut my hair dry. Right away, I could see the shape and bounce. I was then washed, styled, and defused. The result was amazing. My family was speechless. This haircut was worth the drive, the bridge, the tolls, and the cost! I will definitely be going back!

What a wonderful experience and time I just had at Utopia! From the moment I walked in, it felt like I belonged. The super talented Mayssa, besides being the sweetest, tried three different hairstyles on me for my upcoming wedding next month, all were so spectacular making it difficult to choose one, but we did and had so much fun doing so! Nubia, the salon owner and genius creator of Rezo, graciously took time to welcome me and wish me blessings and well wishes for my big day. The entire staff was so attentive and kind. They made me feel like Ive been going there for years, loved it!

I was static when I booked my appointment, even traveled 2 1/2 hours to it. My appointment was with Nubia “The Rizos Queen”- What an under statement.For starters staff was nice and welcoming. I was seated in her chair right away, I explained I wanted to maintain my length but cleaning the ends well. The haircut lasted 5 minutes (May I add, I have a lot of hair, her cut consisted of parting my hair in 3 sections, bunching them together and carelessly chopping off the ends). Within those 5 minutes she disappeared like 3 times. She didn’t bother to educate me on my curls, tips or comments. Everything was cut throat and to the point.She then handed me off to her assistant to wash and style, (I was given one shampoo then styled; very cheap if you ask me, if you are going to charge me $205) quite frankly I knew more about curly hair than her assistant. Must I add that at the time her assistant was 2 weeks in new and never worked with curly hair before.I was so disappointed by the hair cut. My hair was chopped, literally. My length was gone and all I was left with was strains pieces of hair. — The cut was so bad I had to fix it 2 days later near my home.I contacted the salon various times, provided pictures of the horrible work that was done. I was ignored for 2-3 days. By the time the manager contacted me her response was “you asked for her to retain length”. Initiating as if it was my fault for the horrible work that was done to me. In all I asked for a full refund, I was told Nubia will call me back to discuss, it has been 2 months since that horrible experience. Save your money! If you really want a great hair cut go to Dream Angel Salon - Joe’ is the best!I also want to add, I have dominican thick hair, most of her models in IG have well manageable hair. This was my first time coming to this salon and I drove an hour from Bronx, NY. When I arrived, I was greeted immediately, and the place was extremely clean with Covid-19 precautions. I did not have to wait to be seen, because my stylist Lori was on time and attended to me professionally.I told her that I wanted volume and a new look. She hook it up! I loved the way my hair came out and aside from the hair oil they used on my hair( because my hair does not take hair oil very well as I have curly fine hair). Anyway, the staff was super friendly and I can see myself coming back again.

A genuinely great experience and they had great covid measures in place too! Alyssa V is great and I would highly recommend her! She was professional and gave me a consultation before my Rezo haircut. I had gotten this haircut before there with another stylist who’s on maternity leave so I only wanted a trim and to leave length the same. She did such a awesome job that I will be going back to only her from now on. I gave it 4 stars not because of Alyssa but because they’re charging a $5 Covid fee which makes no sense.

This is my go to salon. if you’re a curly headed queen this is the place for you. the staff is always friendly and kind and they know what they’re doing! i always go to Alyssa, she’s always making my curls look amazing. will continue to bring my business here and recommend to those looking to learn how to style their hair properly and get a curly cut!
