Best place anywhere for tires and auto service. Outstanding work and customer service. Always call these guys first. But they are always busy, best to call ahead. They do have multiple locations, are local and family owned.

I really needed tires really bad. The owner and staff were really nice and suggested that I get a particular tire that would be a good fit for my car. And the price was reasonable. My car drives really good and no issues so far.

DO NOT GO HERE! I would give a zero stars if I can. I went in for a tire change for two front tires. The mechanic MIGUEL showed me the damage of the tires and the wire shown, however, hours later after going to another shop for a tire alignment- my front left tire rod was broke and the front right tire rod was bent. I called Dons and requested a refund, Don (the owner) said that I could not get a refund and put Miguel on the phone. Miguel tried to say that my tire rods were already broken- but if that was the case- he would have shown me the broken tire rods when he was fixing my tires, but instead he suggested that after “fixing” my tires that I go to their other shop for an alignment, knowing that he broke the tire rods. In addition, the tires are expensive 100 dollars for new tires, while other places charge 50-80 per new tire. They claim that the tires have warranty, but when asked, there is nothing in writing for the tires warranty. This place is a joke and I won’t be coming back. I waisted 200 plus dollars on them, not to mention that when I did go, they were not accepting debit cards, just cash.

Upon entering the front door... you will likely be greeted by the owner and his rare combination of knowledge and service. This is the place I go for all my tire needs. Tires are unforgiving and we often take them for granted. If you need a used tire matched to your existing set, or you need to replace all 4, this is the place to go. You wont be disappointed. Ive used them before and they generally have competitive prices, and the service is generally good for the most part. The last few times I went were pretty bad imo. They charged me extra because my wheels were too big even though they were only 18s and I wasnt even running a thin tire. The worst part is that I had to rebalance my tires myself due to them being too unbalanced. Most of the rims were 6 ounces too heavy on the inside of the barrel, and one rim was as high as 10 ounces off on the outer portion of the barrel. After this experience Id rather mount and balance my own tires from now on.

Ive gone to this place to get work done on my car several times. Every time Ive gone there the work has been done quickly, courteously and at a reasonable price.

This place is very unorganized and unsanitary. Juan is so rude and doesnt value anyones time except his. He didnt have a mask on. As LONG as I was in there, I seen nobody in there wiping door handles or chairs. The wait was very long considering they couldnt even help me with my tire. Juan sat in my face, on his phone & told me he was working. After He acknowledged me finally after 15 mins of standing there I tell him the problem and he zones out into his phone for another 5 mins. I would never go here again. If I could give them zero stars I would.

Dons is the place to go. Super friendly staff Juan is super chill and easy to talk to. Service was fast and prices on tires are 👌🏻Got all new tires. Juan said they are the best. A few days later I got a flat (thanks to Chicago streets) drove that bad boy for almost 20 minutes. No damage to my rim and tire wasn’t all chewed up. So yass them tires is good lol.Went back and he totally took care of the issue big thanks to him!!!

Ive known Don since school great businessman

Paid for catalytic converter change and for basic oil change and checking of fluids. The next day car shut off completely in the middle of the street while my 4 kids were in the car teen daughter was driving Almost loosing control. When we got to our children and car the burning smell was terrible. Called a mechanic friend from out of town who said to try and start the car to assess were the needle on heat sensor is and it was on H car overheated from no coolant. We added 1 and half gallons and car started. Monday morning came in to speak to the owner who wouldnt take full responsibility for his staffs mistake. Reluctantly gave us $100 refund for what couldve been a tragic mistake!

Dons Auto is the place to go if you want quality products, service and repair at a remarkable 1970s fair price.After Waukegans big tire company saw my needed wheel repair, they said i needed new tires right away and I couldnt buy any unless they fixed the unsafe wheel...they would need the wheel for weeks at some mysterious location $300+(!!!) to make the wheel safe...Don smiled, a cool guy and great businessman, and said $60 what a fair price!Prompt service, busy as hell because customers cant lose with great price and quality service. I dont trust many mechanics in the world, I have been badly burned many times and seriously overcharged. Don is the REAL DEAL, he realizes that people dont have bottomless bank accounts and will give you a fair deal at a fair price regardless of the repair, product or service needed. I can wholeheartedly recommend Dons without hesitation. In fact, he should open multiple locations, many people know about his fair treatment of customers and his great honest reputation is all over the Waukegan area.

A waste of time. If you go to this place be prepared for them to have you car for 4-24hours. There is no priority in service, its alot of hanging out and not enough work going on. I went there for a service that usually takes a hour, they had my car for 4 hours just to tell me what service needed to be done. When I said go ahead and do it they informed me that they would have to keep it overnight cause it was to late and it would take 2-3 hours to do it. He told me to come back early morning the next day and my car would be done before closing. I brought the car back the next morning and was about to leave my car until they told me they would have to keep my car until the next day. I was there for a hour and did not see anybody working at all just walking around talking.

Great Service all the time very reasonable prices

I called and set up an appointment to get a new tire for my car. When I went to pay I questioned the low price and was told it was because it was used. I never asked for used so had to spend more time fixing that issue in an already very busy shop. My husband got all 4 tires done and within 6-8 months we find out his tires are completely bald and the alignment is off because 2 out of 2 of the tires were different sizes. This has caused us more money. Lesson learned. We will not come back which is too bad because the owner is a nice guy.

Went for a used tire because had a blow out. Waited an hour and forty five minutes for service. Staff used foul language. Though tire was good rediculous wait time and staff unconcerned about not only making you wait but the representation of the business ie; cursing and such was disappointing. I do not expect to return here.

Took my car in for the cat converter in order to pass the emission test last year and guess what i needed another one this year! Did you fix the other one enough for me to pass? This is not a cheap fix!
