I live around the corner from this shop and I will be going elsewhere from now on. I’ve only been there twice, and both times my nails were not what I asked for and we’re messed up before I left the shop. I asked for gel, both times, and both times I was given regular polish that smeared before I left… I figured the first time back in May was a fluke, but it just happened again today. I was hoping it was just a hiccup, but the technician didn’t even seem interested in fixing the issue and was blaming me for the mistake.I am also in service and hospitality, if I treated my guests this way I’d be out of a job. I will not be returning.

Got to meet the owner and she was very beautiful and friendly! She made sure I was taken care of. My nail tech did an excellent job on my pedicure and it had been MONTHS since Ive had one. I will definitely be back!

I’ll have to try them again with a different tech. I’m not pleased especially with the polish on my big toes.

DO NOT COME HERE! There were only two great nail techs here they left and got their own shop. The other nail techs aren’t good at all! I schedule an appointment I arrive a bit early just in case, I notice the nail tech I had schedule for. Was doing someone’s pedicure once I arrived, I told the receptionist to get some clarification on what’s going on. She was highly confused and didn’t help, I messaged the owner Sassy on IG. She ignored my messages and kept posting pictures on the shop page. Later she got back to me and try to turn the whole situation on me saying I arrived early. You should be thankful I was a bit early for my appointment, but still the nail tech would have not been done in time for my appointment. Another issue is the very uncomfortable wood chairs for customers to sit on. Also let’s not forget about the only guy who works in the nail shop. He spends all day in front of the nail salon smoking WEED which the owner knows. This place nail shop really is ghetto and unprofessional now save yourself the time and money!!

Best Nail Spa in DMV … Trust me guys..If I recommend a place, trust it checks all the boxes because Im a very picky customerThis place isn’t your regular nail spa, their services speak for itself…My friend recommended this place to me and i was highly impressed .

I was really hoping to get some advice on what to do for my very damaged nails. I tried several times to communicate this to multiple staff, but they seemed disinterested in offering a quality experience, and were more interested in throwing gels on my nails--which ultimately didnt happen as the whole thing took soooo long and the quality was terrible I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.

When this establishment opened 18 years ago, the owner and her Mom pride themselves on cleanliness, public health and safety, customer service, and offering clients a quality unique relaxing experience and they certainly deliver. I hosted a Unisex bachelorette party here and it was absolutely wonderful. We had so much fun as some of the male guests enjoyed the experience of a pedicure for the first time.The integrity and reputation of a business is only as good as the work ethic and training of ones employees and the moral values of your customers. Honestly one of the best (black owned) nail Salon’s I’ve visited. I’m so happy I found this place via a list serve I’m a part of! The owner is focused on customer service. The wait is never long and my nails Have NEVER looked better. She has a wide range of colors. I’m a huge fan of her mood changing colors.

My family planned a birthday surprise for me at Sassy and i was not disappointed! There were some timing issues as someone had called off but i got an amazing facial with vegan Aveda products which were fine for my very sensitive skin and a gel mani & pedi. My gel mani is just now chipping after 12 days and my toes are still good!Im booking my next service there and will continue returning. The women who work there are hilarious and friendly. No complaints and with the scheduling issue, they offered is something to make up for it. Thanks for showing us our dollars matter with you, Sassy

My first time 4 years ago was good, but last year very an organized and also not professional i enjoyed the fruits and drinks. Was sitting in foot spa for 3 hours before someone help with my nails and the lady that was post to do my nail took someone else . My bill was $120 owner give $10 dollars off my bill and felt she could took more because I been sitting in the spa chair for 3 hours

My whole family loves sassy nails! Its a locally owned independent nail salon which offers everything from a basic manicure to personal parties and mobile services. If you get the spa pedicure you get a little treat along with it! The technicians are very professional and knowledgeable about their art. Best waxing Ive ever had! (Ask for Tracy for the sensitive places!)

Within 1 day my gel nails started peeling. Not sure if it was old polish or the application, but they look horrible. I am supposed to have them re-done but wondering if I should waste my time.In addition to that, I had a Spa Week gift card. There was a balance on the card. Instead of charging my services and returning the remainder, she took the entire balance and gave me the remainder on a Sassy gift card. I just hate when small business owners try to get over on their customers. I am debating whether I am going to file a claim with the BBB or not. I am definitely filing one with Spa Week. It feels a bit like a scam.There are just too many other nail salons to deal with such poor services.

Misha and the sassy staff are truly professional! I loved my brows and nails. Everyone complimented me on them. I love how Misha added the extra special wow to my brows!!! I recommend them. They’re really chic!!! :)

Not a lot of good nail technician. It seemed to be a good spot to get a good polish and have conversation. But the technique was not up to par with what I am used to at other spas.

I never thought Id be getting a pedicure but this was a great experience. A friend wanted to get her nails done and I thought eh why not. I love supporting black owned businesses so this place was on the top of my list. The owner is very friendly and the staff have some good skills. Ill be back for the spa.

I really love Vicky! She not only does a wonderful job with your nails but also treats you like a friend. I was always super excited to get my nails done with her. I lived with 9 girls back in my SJSU days and after my recommendation to Vicky, just about all of them started seeing her regularly too. I will miss coming here!

Rude workers. They dont do a good job at. My nails look crooked. The polish was painted on sloppy. Gave it a second shot with a different worker and shes just as bad. I dont recommend.

NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!!! Im actually very upset about my experience. It was my first time visiting this salon. 8/14 TWO DAYS AGO!!. I was extremely excited after taking a look at the website. However Im disappointed with the results. I decided to do a sassy pedicure and a gel fill in for my overlay. The pedicure says it included a EXTENDED massage. That did not happy at all. There was actually no massage she just rubbed the oil in. My toe nail polish has started to chip already. My fill is not done well. VERY sloppy. My nails are not straight. My cuticles have polish and acrylic on them. They are not filed properly and to make matters worst my acrylic popped off my nail today. In addition I was shocked by the price. Not because I have any issue paying but because I looked at the website in detail and the pricing was extremely different there. It was false advertisement. I fell like I wasted my time and money at this salon. Please be advised.

The owner is really sweet and always suggests the perfect color. The color selection continues to grow which just makes it harder to choose smh (great problem). My pedicures are always done in a timely manner, they look great, and they last longer than some other shops Ive been to.

As soon as I walked into the place you can feel the good spirits in there everyone in there was very nice I love the job they did on my nails overall a wonderful place to go to get your nails feet eyebrows lashes or whatever done. This is where I will be going from now on to get my nails done

Winta is the best manicurist (the black one) I have EVER had. Very pleasant and detail oriented without your having to do anything but relax.. And relax. And relax. Headed there in an hour for my appointment. Been waiting all week long!!!

I love the experience in itself. There was one Black Manicurist I forgot her name but she did an amazing job on my toes. The Dip and Sip is my personal favorite and I will get the Butterscotch Martini. Its to die for!!!!

Well the reviews are great, buy the signed said closes at 7pm. It was 6pm and I was turned away for a manicure, she gave the cut off signed and mouthed closed. It was rude and very unprofessional. Could have offered me an appointment for another time and actually spoke to me. Would I come back? Nope!

I absolutely love this place. Been going here for about 2yrs now. I even bring my daughter for her yearly manicure/pedicure spa treat. I always recommend Sassy to my friends and family.

I have been getting monthly pedicures for more than 20 years. I recently moved to DC and i am trying to find a new home salon. Sassy was the second I tried and really because it was black and female owned. The person who did my mani/pedi was very polite. However for a straight forward manicure, no polish and a regular pedicure I was sorely disappointed with what appeared at best to be a cursory, rushed job. For $40.00 I expect perfectly manicured fingers and toes. Alas I will never return and definitely will not recommend.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Me and my two other roommates went here last weekend and while the shop was very cute, the service was terrible. The nail techs obviously dont know what they are doing. I went in to get a full set with the French ombré powder look which was said to cost $35.The women who did my nails had to take a little bit of acrylic off my nails since I had soaked the night before which took her all of 5 minutes max to do and still charged me for a soak off. She obviously didnt know how to do the French ombré, leaving me with two toned pink and white that did not blend at all and looked horrible. On top of this, she cut my cuticles about 5 times. Never had I experienced such pain getting my nails done! I even had warned her before to be careful since my hands are soft in general. Still cut me and had the nerve to charge me $60! I got it down to $50 with the manager which is still ridiculous and my nails even to this day are still raised and not flat enough, with an awful paint job. One of my roommates got a gel manicure and came out with her nails being uneven and ragged. The other roommate had to wait over an hour to get a pedicure. Overall I would never recommend this place ever! Be warned! Go somewhere else!

I have been coming here for close to.9 years. Most of the technicians try very, very hard some are exceptional and I seek them out when I come in. Great place.

Do not go to the middle- aged Asian gentleman. He hurried through my pedicure and had the nerve to Huff, puff and sigh like his time was being held up. I went with a friend and sat for an additional 15-20 minutes while the other tech took time with my friend and did a much better job.

I went there to get a gel manicure and it chipped. I went back four days later to get it fixed, waited half an hour past the opening time and they still weren’t open and no one had arrive. I called multiple times and was told someone would be in any moment. No one came. Don’t recommend.

There are many reasons why I chose to support this particular business and one of which was that I was referred by a customer who had come once before. UNFORTUNATELY, Just as many reasons I had to support the business, there became TWICE as many to RUN THE OTHER WAY!The prices are INFLATED. The customer service was SUBPAR, to match the POOR BUSINESS ACUMEN of the techs and the owner. I got a gel manicure and a color change for $48. The gel manicure was not done to a professional standard. When I noticed that there was gel applied unevenly down ON MY CUTICLES, I mentioned it to the tech BEFORE she finished in hopes that she would correct it. After waiting FOREVER to complete the manicure, I get outside to my car to see that it looks even worse and unacceptable in daylight. I run back in immediately to inform the owner and she mentioned “fixing a few nails” when anyone could see that the entire job needed to be done over. I let her know and she advises me to come back in a few days to redo. THE GEL POLISH EVEN BEGAN TO CHIP ON A FEW NAILS AND THIS JS TWO DAYS LATER! I return 3days later and no one assisted me. A few techs came over to me to look at my hand and proceeded to speak a foreign language amongst themselves . I sat there for 30 min to inevitably be told that they didn’t see anything wrong with the job. I call the owner and she says that the tech who did the work will be in the next day and to come then. I come in and the owner hands me a bowl of acetone and asks me to place my hand in the bowl. Take note this is NOT HOW ANYONE REMOVES GEL POLISH IN ANY OTHER SPA/NAIL BAR, AND NOT HOW THEY REMOVED MY GEL POLISH at my initial visit to this spa. I sat IN THERE FOR 2 HOURS waiting on this nail tech. There were two customers who oversaw the entire situation and made comments to me about them personally having bad experiences and also mentioned that they wouldn’t be giving the place another try after witnessing my situation. They left. I tried to remain patient in that I wanted to give them a chance to correct the issue. I thought was fair. I sat there for an additional 30 minutes waiting with my hand soaking in acetone and waiting for this “same “ lady. She was REALY LOLLIGAGGING and taking her time, so I ask “ma’am I’m waiting to be seen by you next, correct?” She then says “no someone else is doing your nail” I WAS BLOWN AWAY. I came the day before and no one could assist bc the same tech was expected to correct the job and today you’re telling me that I’ve been waiting all of 2 hours and 30 minutes for someone ELSE to do the same job? I calmly got up and politely asked for my money back, before I released my rage. No ONE SHOULD BE TREATED THAT WAY, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING that I PAID for a service that was done INCORRECTLY. I left the establishment with gel STILL on my nails. And a job not corrected.So I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone who wants proper services provided.1. GETTING A PROPER MANICURE ❌2. Best place for men to get pedicures

I love supporting black owned businesses but Im not very fond of this one.I first went on mothers day. The salon was cute and the service was basic. I paid with a giftcard from spa finders and was given a shop giftcard for the remaining balance.The second time i visited, i again received basic service. I would have gotten treated the same or better anywhere else. On top of that, there was no remaining balance on the giftcard. The owner hadnt even kept track of the redeemed giftcards. She kept explaining how they keep records online and in writing but she couldnt find any record of anyone using a giftcard that day. I was extremely disappointed to have to pay out of pocket. A week later the acrylic started to lift and the gel polish is easily peeling off nails. For the prices they demand i expect great service and at the very least decent quality. I was going out of my way to come to this salon but now Im not certain I would ever visit again.

Terrible. I went there on a Sunday. I wanted a gel fillin and pedicure. The young girl at the front desk was lovely. She was attentive and polite. The lady that did my pedicure was terrible. The massage was good but of course it only took 10 min and my polish was horrible. The pedicure I selected came with a drink but they didnt have any left except for a lemon drop but the alcohol for it was not available. So the young lady at the front desk that made my drink but I couldnt even taste the alcohol. Why didnt they just tell me that when I selected the service I wanted.So next we went on to do my nails and that wasnt much better than the pedicure. While my gel fillin was being done, I kept questioning her techniques and I just knew the finished product was going to be bad and it was. The final gut punch was the fact that I had to pay $85 for something that was subpar. Unfortunately, my recommendation is that you avoid this business.

The staff is very nice and they have an awesome selection of colors to choose from. My experience in the shop was pleasant, but the services are overpriced and not justified by the quality of the work. I received a gel paint job on my natural nails(without the manicure) and paid $25, plus a $5 fee for removing the gel polish already on my nails. I have never heard of a polish removal fee anywhere. I was pleased with the work until I woke up the next day and saw that 3 of my nails were severely chipped. I had to go back in for the repair (which was done pleasantly and for free) but the new tech ended up redoing 5 of my nails because Im assuming the original job wasnt the greatest. It wasnt the worst experience I have had, but I wouldnt return or recommend the place.

They dont care and since Ive been back twice now ive gotten progressively worse color changes (not manicures but color changes). The technician scratched the top layer of my nail so bad. Gel doesnt need to be taken off so aggressively if you have the right tools. And she did and still messed up my nails. Dont go here yall.

A lil unorganized but great service and wonderful staff

Just horrible, a friw.do and I went to get a pedicure and chrome nails as advertised on their website. We later called to make sure the chrome nails were available, whomever answered said yes and we decided to do. We we arrived we were to by Misha that minx needed to be scheduled by appointment. 1st disappointment, later as my friend was deciding on getting the second option was an overlay which that may come off of bumped. She was told that if she wanted to soak off her nails and apply a new full set and the second option it would be $75.00 which she was ok with but was later told that she needed to make up her mind. While I opted for the spa pedicure and the cosmopolitan the whole time I smelled sewage. The smell like was horrible and you could hear and see it backing up into the other bowl next to me. I sat for 30 minutes while someone drilled my gel Polish off then I got up and left!! Dono do it its ratchet! The website is misleading.

They do a great job & its a very clean place.
