This place is amazing. People in DC seem to really only care about experience and atmosphere which is why I believe the stars aren’t that high for this place. The staff here care about perfecting your nails and are so amazing at making your inspiration come to life on your nails. Every single person in this shop is extremely talented and they will get you that perfect shape you’re looking for. If you’re new to this area or are looking for a new salon, please consider this place. They tend to be very busy so be sure to make an appointment.

Today 01/19/2020 was the first time i have came to this nail salon and Im so happy that i did i went off the review and just the reviews alone made me confident enough to try out this salon. And so i did John did my nails from the time i stepped in the door they was nothing more but positive and helpful. John did my nails so perfect and he took his time. I am actually sick really stuffy nose he put a small heater on for me and a humidifier which i was so great full for. Im in love with my nails its been so long since my nails have been perfect and beautiful. Elegance Nails is officially my new nail salon. And F.Y.I they also do amazing eyelashes (Steve)

My nail technician first did not know what she was doing then the owner had to step in a fix my nails which he did he just added Rhinestones on top instead of fixing it also the old woman was coughing nonstop her Mack was not up all the way. I would not risk my health nor would I waste my money by far one of the worst nail salons I’ve been to so far

I have been going here for almost 2 yrs. Best pedicure and Lashes. I am VERY picky about my lashes... I got a full classic look and Steve gets it right EVERYTIME. The whole staff is super nice and its always a good time in there.

The customer service is poor. I’ve been a regular customer here for some time and when I went to schedule an appointment they upcharged me by $30 and when I asked for clarification they told me to go someplace else.

They did an amazing job on my nails. I got a full set coffin shape and it came out perfectly. I would have changed the color I got, but I came back about 2 weeks later to change it. It was amazing!

Employees are extremely unprofessional and not punctual at all. I had a 6:30 appointment, called to let them know ahead of time I’d be 10 minutes late and they said it would be fine. Once I got there I sat and waited for an hour. The next Day my nail broke and when I called to ask for a repair and was explaining what happened they hung up in my face. I know this because once I called back and said “did you hang up” the man replied and said “yeah if you want different service you can go somewhere else”. Most GHETTO experience ever 🙄

John and his brother are the best workers there. Please bother them, theyre funny and you wont stop looking at your nails when you leave.

Went to this place even tho I knew it was trash (had been here before) but I broke my nail because I hit it on my car door. Nails were very strong before that accident. Got a pedicure.. yes I am using that term very loosely because it was a bad one. Nails were exhausting. I had to literally supervise her because nails were different shapes, lengths etc and it was annoying. Three of my nails ended up breaking after that appointment which is annoying because my nails are always long and thick. Moral of the story: dont go here :)

This is honestly one of the worst nail experiences I’ve had. The staff are rude and miserable... the Latina woman who did a gel set on my nails did a horrible sloppy job, she had an attitude the entire time and was aggresively speaking to me and handle my nails with aggression. She disappeared a few times without saying anything lol. Her nearly adult children came into the shop in the middle of her doing my nails and were sitting and staring in my face. I honestly felt sorry for her she seemed so miserable so I tipped her well but she did not at all deserve it at all. The place needs to work on their customer service. I’m a friendly person so I’m not sure what her problem was. This shop is small and not pretty at all. And I have so many other favorite nail shops that I go to all the time... this one is definitely the last place I would go, it just happens to be near my school.On another note there was one time I came in for my toes giving this place another shot, and the guy did a great job on my feet and he was really friendly and had great customer service! But I would never come back for anything other than feet

They were quick and have a nice color selection, but that’s about it. Went for an acrylic new set and I have multiple cuts. It was done sloppily. Day 2 and I can already see my own cuticles and the polish is peeling.

They did a sloppy job for my acrylics and the pricing was inconsistent.The woman who did my nails was very aggressive with my fingers. I didnt even filing could hurtShe cut my nails unevenly which impacted how the nails looked when it grew out (I got the glass/clear acrylic)

The lash glue is kept in a paper cup in the fridge next to food- Good luck not getting an infection. So many clients come back with toe fungus because they only clean their utensils and pedicure chairs with fabulouso. The warm towels they out on you? Hot water and fabulouso. The stones? Oil in a crock pot, they do not ever clean that pot at the bottom of it is nasty science excitement growing on them.My time here at elegance was well- Short lived lets say. It made me realize the importance of honesty though and integrity which John, And Tammy do not possess to run a business. Perhaps why they closed down the other location? Who knows.. However get your last minute cheap nail services done because Im sure after the investigation a change will come about. Beware.

I really like the new shop! I consistently have good service (I only go to one technician); however, they are always customer friendly. However, it is a small shop, small staff, when its busy, its quite a wait!

They shape the nails perfect. Have a lot of gel selections. Johanna is my favorite. Ask for her when you go!!

Im a Howard student, not from DC but Elegance is the only place I go during the school year for my nails. They have great customer service, reasonable prices, and do amazing work. Theyve had the same friendly staff since I started going & they never have a problem fixing or changing something to your liking. Ill be going to them anytime im in DC.

Visiting family in DC and Googled Nail Salons Near Me and Elegance popped up first. Called them for a mani-pedi and the manager Bruce said they could take me right away (it was mid-afternoon on a weekday in the summer, so a bit slow). I had a great technician who squared me away fast. Theres a slight extra charge for buffing, but this guy polished liked n ones business and my 10 nails came out gleaming. Good prices.

They are rude and ignorant. I broke a nail and because I had a refill they wouldn’t fix it . They told me maybe I should go back to place when I originally got my full set from. Don’t go to them !!! Don’t waste your money or time.

Didnt have anyone to put designs on nails. Gave me a stone treatment pedicure I didnt ask for. $43 for a regular mani pedi. Couldve gotten it anywhere in the area for $21. Very small and tight. Practically stepped over people to get back n forth. Never again

TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE !!! I will never set foot in that establishment again. The man that works there is rude and unprofessional!!My first terrible experience happened when I went there for a pedicure. My feet were soaking in the water for a good 10-15 mins until someone was available. Finally someone came and it happened to be the man. I didnt see where he pulled his utensils from so I asked if he sanitized them. He immediately became angry and drained the water! He said something to dusty employee and there after she directed some words at me in what ever language they speak.The second time I went there was out of desperation. I needed to get my eyebrows done and they were the only place I knew of. I go to Howard but Im from New York and I dont usually get my brows done in D.C. Anyway he had this young Hispanic child who looked like she did brows for fun working on customers. Again I was desperate so I let her do them. Long story short my brows looked hideous so my friend ask the owner how he accommodates an unhappy customer. He pretends he doesnt understand her so she repeats herself. He says dont pay, but dont come back here again and shoos us like we were flies.I will never spend my money at Elegance Nails EVER AGAIN! NEVER! In addition to their terrible customer service they only have one or two people there who can actually do acceptable work. SMH DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!

After five years this is still my favorite place to get pedicures. It is a small family operation with few frills. I love it.

Has management changed at this place? Im a regular and I came in after being away for the summer. They have some new staff, in blue jackets, and the place looked dirtier than I remembered. Ive been going to this shop for yes and I only go to Jenni she is the best. The only think I dislike about the shop is that it is very small and not that many workers so if u go on a busy day it will b a wait unless u have a appointment.

Worst experience ever! Ive been to Elegance one other time in the past and I had a lovely experience but the quality of service has definitely gone down. I had a young woman with a mole above her mouth, I believe her name was Misty. While she was doing my pedicure, she was attempting to remove the extra skin around my big toe however she cut my skin off and I began BLEEDING (should have left then). She didnt even do anything to stop the bleeding besides dip my foot back into the water smh. She shaped my feet HORRIBLY, one foot had square nails and the other circular. I thought she would redeem herself with the nail polish but it all went downhill. Smh, the manager said he would refund me my money (ILL BE CHECKING MY BANK CARD) and I went to another nail salon.

I would not revisit this place. The technician who did my full set had poor customer service. Some of my nails are crooked and do not have the coffin shape. The application of polish is undesirable. And acrylic was applied lumpily. Nothing was worth the amount that was charged. I will be calling up there for a refund.
