I made an appointment Monday to get my eyelashes done for Thursday at 6pm. I had made plans for Thursday at 8pm, and I thought I had plenty of time. I called before my appointment to triple check I had an appointment, as I never got a confirmation text or anything. She repeated my name and asked if I could come in at 6:15 instead. Okay, I though, still have plenty of time. I got there at 6:15 and she was in the middle of an appointment, and there was another woman already waiting. She finished the appointment she was on at 6:30. She then told the woman waiting it was her turn. I thought she was just going to do a quick service, as it was already 15 mins past the time we agreed on. The woman was doing eyelash extensions. She never gave me an eta or told me to come back. At 6:50-7pm, I simply could not wait any longer. I’m sure her services are good, but unfortunately I never got to experience them since she seems to consistently overbook. I’m a very patient person, but it’s completely unacceptable and unprofessional to make a client wait an hour without a reason or even an apology. Know that’s there is only one person working, and you will be waiting no matter how far in advance you make the appointment (I made mine 4 days in advance).

Ive been getting lash extensions applied here for the past 6 months give or take so Im pretty familiar with what the process entails. Generally, Ive had a positive experience. However, the last time I went I had a new person and it was terrible. The woman applying my lashes should not be allowed to preform this service or at minimum receive extensive training. I experienced pain and a tugging sensation on my lid/lash with each lash she applied. When I voiced my concern she brushed it off (maybe she misunderstood me?) and continued on. It got to the point where I was visibly crying because of the pain. In response to this she gave me a tissue and asked if I was okay. No, I was not. I wish Id ended the service with the first sign of pain instead of giving her the benefit of the doubt hoping shed adjust. Hindsight really is 20/20, huh?Eventually, the woman I usually see finished with her client and completed the application of my lashes. Fast forward to a few hours later, I realize that both of my eyelids are tender, some lashes to the point of pain. I literally cannot squint or blink hard without significant pain to the corner of my right eyelid.After googling if this is normal (again trying to give the benefit of the doubt and see if its just me), I realize that no, lash extension application should NOT be painful at ANY point. This new information also made me realize that what I thought was quality service these last 6 months has not actually been that great. Nearly every application has resulted in pain as the lashes grow out. Like actual pain if the lash is touched. I thought this was normal, but it is not. Who knew? Clearly not me.So in short, here I am, writing this review with a full set of lashes on my face causing me pain each time I blink too hard. Im terrified of the pain I will experience as they grow out, but am unsure of my options at this point given that I cannot remove them myself.I almost never write reviews, but felt I had to share my experience to hopefully prevent someone else from enduring the same. I gave them 2 stars only because they usually look really nice despite the discomfort that follows as they grow out. Unfortunately, this time they appear uneven with more lashes on one eye than the other. Go figure.

I got my lashes done here twice and they were great the first time when they were done by a young woman (who I think no longer works there) named Ava. The second time I went back they were done by an older woman and my eyes were burning from whatever disinfectant product was being used and I could feel the clumpiness of the glue on my eyelid as time went on. While they did look nice, they felt so uncomfortable that I ended up pulling them off after about a week. Lashes should feel weightless. I do think they use good lashes, but they need to get a better lash tech and perhaps use better quality glue.

I simply love this place. The space is always immaculate and the ambiance is spectacular. There is usually no wait, but I do recommend making an appointment. They have a plethora of services and the eyelashes extensions are flawless (95.00 for initial, 65.00 for refill @ 2 weeks and 75.00 @ 3 weeks). The only issue I ever run into is parking which is not a reflection of the shop and should be expected in Adams Morgan.

Got my lower legs sugared. I didnt realized they dont do the sugaring method where you dont use strips, apply in opposite hair growth. So that was disappointing. After the service I realized there were quite a few missed spots. My leg hair is light but the spots were still noticable. All around rushed and disappointing experience.

Excellent and sanitary waxing and threading. I usually get my underarms waxed here about every 4 weeks and my lower face threaded. Everyone is always nice and it’s easy to make an appointment online and drop right in

Best eyebrow threading ever

I went for a bikini sugar waxing session and they did a great job. Very thorough but gentle. The staff is professional and the space is very clean. Masks wore worn by everyone in the place.

Actually the best place for threading and waxing! I dont go anywhere else for my brows anymore because these guys do such a great job (other spots have either cut me or accentuated my uneven brows). Very precise and careful work so pain is minimizedAlso COVID note: I was worried about how threading works right now but they were able to do it with their masks on, which is great!

Very friendly and accommodating staff. My girlfriend and I found this place on groupon and I am very happy that we did! The lash jobs are amazing and they last very well. I never experienced any irritation or bad reaction. The facility very clean and decorated to boot!

I went there last Saturday and honestly it was the best. The place looks gorgeous and smells divine. We talked about brow tinting and threading just a clean up but she thoroughly explained what she was doing why she was doing and how she was doing it. People have been complimenting my brows saying they’re fuller and crisp and I adore it. I highly recommend and will go back!

Decor, friendliness and cleanliness are all fine. However, the most important favor is the quality of service and what should be expected from a salon that specializes in hair removal and is pricey. I booked an appointment for sugaring of half arms and legs. Wax was recommended over sugar due to the my hair being short. I was concerned because I have sensitive skin but I agreed. Sugar was used on the half arms. Results: several patches of torn skin layers all over my legs and arms. I couldnt see it on the spot but emailed that evening after I discovered the painful patches and offered to send pictures. Beside the fact that it was impossible for me to wear a skirt or dress because of the red blotches, it was painful. I gave them several days to get back to me - nothing. I am upset and disappointed.

I had waxing, threading done and the service was great. Very good and friendly customer service. Customer Care is guaranteed. No disappointment experienced. Parlor decor itself is amazing, very relaxing atmosphere.Highly recommended and will definitely go back again.

Went in for lash extensions. Not comfortable setting at all. I woke up the next day and my eye was swollen. I think they glued lashes to my skin. I let them know and sent a picture right after... They never replied. Once the swelling went down, the lashes themselves didn’t look awful. However, they were clumped together so when it was time for them to fall off they would pull other lashes off!! Very disappointed. Guess that’s what I get for trusting Groupon ratings. Will not be going back

Well, it was a success! It was clean, professional, not abnormally painful, and fast! I was in and out! And it was a great price and first time client deal! Sosha wasn’t awesome! My new spot.

Bought eyebrow threading for $7 (it’s normally $14) off Groupon and went this morning. The place just opened a couple of months ago so it’s very clean and nice inside. Smells good, too. The entire visit from walking in the door to walking out the door was 28 minutes. She gave me a mirror to hold & consulted with me before we began on how threading works and asked me what I want my brows to look like. She was very attentive & professional. During the process (which stung a little more than I expected) my eyes began to water so she handed me a tissue to put over my eyes which helped to blot my tears and also block out the super bright light above me. All in all I’m totally pleased and my brows look soooo great! A little redness but no puffiness or bumps that I used to get with waxing. She applied lotion as well as a cold towel & hydrocortisone cream to help with the redness. I’ll definitely return regularly for maintenance appointments!!

I am an African American woman and I got a full body wax done 3 weeks ago and have been trying to get my skin to recover since. I had severe black acne scars all over my face and upper back the first week and now I notice severe black acne scars on my upper arms that Im having a hard time going away. I got oral acne medicine from my physician because it was so severe and I have never had an acne breakouts like this. As a matter of fact this is my first major acne breakout after coming from this salon. I am so disappointed and have spent weeks at work embarrassed to look up at people from all the acne that was on my face or to show certain sections of my skin that became irritated due to getting waxed. I wanted to do something to make me feel good about myself and all it did was make me feel self conscious and insecure. All I can hope is that my skin can recover soon.
