Ive been a customer of Shoba DC now for 3 years, and everytime I go I receive amazing customer service and the best technicians. These last few visits Ive been serviced by Ms. Sabina who always does an amazing job with my eyebrow and lip threading. The front desk staff are also polite and very professional. I love Shoba DC!

Ive seen Michelle for laser hair removal for 5 sessions now, and Ive been so happy with my experience at Shobha.First off, pricing here is super fair. Laser in the DC area gets expensive, but the pricing at Shobha is great for a high-level of quality service. This is what first drew me here. I also really appreciate that you can pay by session, rather than paying for an entire 6 sessions upfront (although there are cost benefits to doing it this way).Michelle is thorough. Ive been to other places for laser where I felt like they didnt do a sufficient job to get all the hairs. This is not a problem here. Michelle leaves no hair behind, and takes the time to make sure to cool the area and make it as comfortable as possible.Not only is she good at what she does, but Michelle makes you feel comfortable and welcome right away. She is excellent at creating a comfortable and safe environment.PLEASE go see Michelle. You will not be disappointed. I also met the new trainee, Tatiana, and she was wonderful.

I was a bit confused when I saw them pull our paper for my sugaring (I’m used to sugaring without the paper), but Sabina assured me that I would be okay. She was really quick as well with my Brazilian. The place was tidy and the whole process took less than 20 mins. Overall great experience, was just thrown off. Advice: do the paperwork before

I have been going to the DuPont Circle location for Brazilian wax for roughly 5 tears now. I use to have an AMAZING technician. I would drive an hour+ each time way for services because lets face it, when we find someone that can handle a Brazilian quick and EFFICIENT, we stay with them. I believe this location is under new management. With that, the professionalism has gone into the toilet. Previously, front desk staff where professional were knowledgeable. A couple of times I went recently and there were young ladies at the front desk who were unprofessional. I would expect 4 star spa-like professionalism. I felt as if I walked into a shop without a reputation, that didnt pride themselves on an enjoyable experience for customers. I digress. o My most recent Brazilian wax...Ouch. The wax burned me twice. Yes I let the technician know. She was so rough. I had to remind her to press/pat after pulling wax off because that makes the pain less intense. Same as last visit. She was quick, but ineffective in her professionalism. I asked to look at my vj after the wax because it was burning so badly. There were bumps everywhere. So disappointed. It took 2 weeks to heal after hydrocortisone, bacitracin, and benadryl cream. When they get back to the craft and hire well-seasoned Aesthetiians, Id recommend another try with them. I love their cleanliness and quickness, but theyve lost the thing that set them apart from other pop up shops with technicians with little to no experience .

Is this what sugaring is supposed to feel like after all? I have been getting sugared for a couple of months but have never experienced something this pain free! I booked online for a sugaring treatment and the whole experience was really pleasant.This place has a section in the front with some chairs for facial threading and some rooms in the back for waxing.The service was fast and the wax wasnt too hot. All in all, a really nice experience and the first service was free thanks to a special they were running off of their website -- you totally cant beat that!

Shobha has always used practices that might seem small, but are huge in terms of cleanliness amd safety. For example, we have always been asked to cleanse our hands before threading services. They have expanded those practices to ensure the safety of their clients during the COVID-19 pandemic. I appreciate the care theyve taken to protect EVERYONE.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! The worst, most terrifying, traumatizing, horrific and mortifying experience of my entire life! I owe it to any woman who cares about her face and eyebrows to not step foot here and run in the opposite direction.Ive been getting my eyebrows routinely threaded every month for the last 15 years, and have never experienced an ordeal as I experienced here. I’m SO traumatized. I was a walk in, and was assigned a specialist. When I was sat down, I asked for a mirror and explained to her EXACTLY what I wanted, and started off with: please dont make my eyebrows thinner. She told me she understood.I’ve been blessed with thick, full middle eastern eyebrows, and just needed a clean up. When she was done, I looked up and saw macerated eyebrows; they looked nothing like mine. She had given herself the complete liberty to remove 3/4 of my ENTIRE eyebrow. I was barely left with a LINE of hair. Did I come to see an eyebrow specialist or a butcher?I’ve never, ever in my life not been able to look at my face in the mirror like now. I cannot bear look at my (lack) of eyebrows, and I have to live with this horrid experience everyday for the rest of summer, through my sisters wedding. It will take at least six months for my hair to grow back, if at all given the extremity of her botched job. She has destroyed my face, ruined my summer, and I cannot believe someone like her could be hired to touch other peoples faces. She should not be allowed near anyones eyebrows.I cannot change anything about my experience, but if I can spare a single person from going through the suffering I’m enduring, it is my responsibility to warn you.

Did a walk in and got seen right away. The female who did my brows listened to what I wanted done. Great service! Was told that there was a coupon in Yelp for new customers, I didnt have it but the female at the register applied it anyway. I would definately recommend this place. 😊

I love this place. Its pretty reasonably priced, all the staff are very professional and nice, and its incredibly clean and professional. Waxing, etc arent always the most fun activities but these ladies make it as pleasant and quick as possible. And the candies they keep at the counter are delicious. I recommend getting the three-pack as youll definitely be back.

I went here a few days ago after almost a year of no maintenance. This was not my first encounter with the place and it will not be my last. As always, the customer service made me feel special by being so attentive to my desires and personal situation. This is not just from the front desk; it is from everyone in the place. I do have a favorite technician but I’m finding that when she is unavailable, almost everyone is just as knowledgeable, as honest, as quick, and as efficient as she. This place is not cheap, but it’s quality, which makes it worth every single, penny.

Ive gotten my eyebrows threaded over two weeks ago and it was my first time visiting the spot. The lady who threaded my eyebrows was amazing, Im definitely coming back to her.

This really pains me to give Shobha a 1 Star. I’ve been here several times and never had an issue. Came in for my appointment and the technician said she could not complete my service. Fine. Instead of offering me an alternative service that she very easily could’ve done she instead cancelled my appointment on the spot and told me to come back another time. Sorry Shobha, your services aren’t cheap and i will gladly take my money elsewhere 🤷🏼‍♀️

Theyre truly fantastic! Made my first experience soothing. They play music in the rooms to make it more relaxed and theres a mirror in the room so you can watch. They dont double dip so they are true to their word. This place is a keeper.

(First, Ill say I received this treatment free through a Yelp event.)So I have nothing to compare this to as Ive never been to a hair removal studio but this seemed so easy. I wasnt able to make an appointment bc I just didnt know what my schedule would be so I showed up and asked if they had any availability for today (Saturday). They took me right away! Wow.I filled out a form and then I was on my way. I asked for underarm sugar wax treatment but bc I had shaved a few days ago I was told this might not work. The aethestician said its really best not to shave for 2 weeks before waxing but she would try the sugaring and if that didnt work, shed try regular wax. Well the wax was better but not complete so she asked if she could try threading.The whole process was only slightly painful, slightly tickle inducing, and maybe 15 min.

Worst wax experience Ive ever had. Maybe my wax lady (who was very sweet) needs glasses or better lighting but there was MAJOR oversight on her part. When I got home and realized this, I quietly wrote an email bc I didnt want to give them a bad public review but its been over a month and I havent even received acknowledgement of my email. Such poor customer service. Please dont waste your money coming here or youll be at home trying to fix what you paid them to do. If you want impeccable work done, go to Waxing with Aggy in Silver Spring. I only came here because Im trying to find somewhere closer to me. Never again.

Worse experience with this hair removal service! I had an appointment for April 7,2019. I made my appointment through their website. The scheduling admin messed up and instead of lazer Brazilian which I needed, she put me on Waxing brazilian. When I came to the location to get a treatment (it was Sunday, I had to drive about 40min, because other locations was closed) reception girl simply said sorry, it was misunderstanding, we dont have a laser specialist today, you may reschedule for another day! Actually this procedure costs around $150 (not that cheap, huh) and they just thrown me out with money, it means they doesnt care about their customers.. I was just shocked, I sent an angry email to their manager asking to explain the situation, but they never offer any apology or discount for next procedure! I NEVER met such a poor customer service!!! They REALLY doesnt even CARE about you. Your satisfaction or your time! Avoid this buiseness if you value your time! Luckily its many hair removal services in DMV area.

I used to routinely go to Shobha for waxing and brows. Over time I started to question why Im paying $22 for threading for so-so service. A few times Id walk out with choppy looking eyebrows and almost ALL THE TIME Im discovering small burns and scabs around my brows as well. Ive only had this experience on the M St Shobha. I had my favorite girls, who no longer work there.
