Do not believe them when they say they offer water aerobics. Its only kicking your feet a little and swishing your arms around its nothing strenuous. They tell you they offer all these water aerobics classes but they dont. Its just a way to get your money.
Going to the “Y” has become a habit. For years while I was still working I would be there at 5:00 am to swim laps before going to work. Now I can be there at my convenience to swim, work cardio, strength, try yoga, and whatever else I want. Earlier this year, I decided I would water ski after 40 years. I signed up for semi private workout sessions with Holly and got more out of these workouts than I expected.By the end of the summer, “just in the nick of time” before the weather turned, I got up on skis. Next year at the age of 75, I hope to report I skied at least a mile.It is all about setting goals. In addition, my balance is better because my core is stronger, a great way to prevent falls. It has done wonders.Holly is a great trainer, knowing how much to push, and when to say “You have too much weight on that machine”.The staff at the “Y” is fabulous. All are very friendly and helpful. They try to know your name and greet you when you enter. It is a marvelous place to meet people and life long friends spilling into all areas of my life.I give it an A+.Sylvia Peterson
Have a physical trainer here, staff is super friendly and helpful! Equipment and entire area is always kept clean and tidy.
The Washington Four Rivers Family YMCA is always very hospitable. It is a very clean establishment. The YMCA workers are always pleasant and easy to work with. I am a monthly member as well as a member who has a personal trainer. My trainer, Holly, is open, honest, helpful, and listens to my needs and follows through. She is quite pleasant. I am happy to be a part of the YMCA. Mary Price
The Four Rivers YMCA is an excellent place for everyone to find the perfect workout. Staff and members are especially nice and you make lifelong friends! I love how clean they keep the facility. I can only do water aerobics because of health reasons but I love the pool! Its always clean. Its just a wonderful place to be!
I wish I could give 10 stars, they deserve it! The staff is so friendly and helpful, becoming more than just the Y staff, they are friends interested in how youre doing and offering help and suggestions where they can. I just cant say enough about the friendly atmosphere at Four Rivers. The members also are considerate and so very friendly, making the Y more than just a place to exercise, its a place to meet friends, socialize and get encouragement. We love our Y!
Have been coming to this Y for many years. I like the workout area. When my boys were younger they liked the childcare area. Over the years my boys have been involved in the youth sports programs, swimming lessons and swim team. We’ve always had great experiences with all the activities that this Y offers. Highly recommended for families but they have so much for all generations. The staff is always welcoming and helpful with any questions you may have.
The Y in Franklin County Missouri is a wonderful place to extend your life and physical abilities. Ten years ago I could hardly walk. I was so stiff from arthritis I couldnt see much mobility in my future. I started swimming and working out in the pool and my life has drastically improved. The staff are so supportive and the building is maintained so well.
Four Rivers YMCA is a great place. The staff are extra helpful. The classes are fun and instructors are uplifting and energetic. The equipment is in excellent condition and clean. The child care personal are great and provide caring friends for the children. I love to visit the YMCA.
Amazing Staff who truly care! Always greeted with a smile and by my first name as soon as I walk in! I love all the extra activities that they offer (monthly 5k runs and a ton of events for the kids). The facilities are always clean and well maintained! My favorite Y by far!
I love the classes and the personal trainers. They offer anything from body pump to yoga. They even have kick boxing. Plus they have a great pool and all the lasted body building machines and aerobic machined!
I love bringing my children here or coming alone to work out. The semi private swimming lessons were perfect for our schedule and the instructor was amazing. We are always greeted with smiling faces and friendly personalities.
We love going to YMCA every chance we get. My boys love it there. One loves that he got the apportuninity to learn how to swim and now that is all he wants to do. My other son loves to work out. The staff is great.
Very nice place, nice staff. Im a senior, but since Im covered under my husbands insurance, Im paying the membership fee. I only wanted it for the water aerobics, but they dont have a specific membership for that. The classes are WAY too packed for the pool space and also the pool is open for public and lap swim at the same time as the classes. They need to reorganize and have more classes at different times. Or possibly eliminate one of the lap lanes since I only saw 1 person using them when I was there. The pool is cold at 86 degrees, which does not help if you have sore muscles.Because of this, I havent even gone for 3 weeks and considering stopping my membership. Its just not beneficial when you cant do all the exercises because there isnt room in the pool. And women bring their kids for public swim and clog up the locker room just as the aerobics class ends. I had to step over kids laying on the floor to get to my locker. My mother-in-law joined with me, but had the Silver Sneakers so no cost. One other thing -- why is there no hot tub at this Y location? My MIL and I both would like to have utilized that and other Ys have them. She has already stopped going.I gave it 3 stars because I imagine the Y works great for families and people who want to work out, etc. Otherwise, I would have given it 1 star for me.Just so disappointing.
The Y is my mom therapy! I get a break from the children and leave feeling energized! Even on days Im not feeling motivated to work out, my kids will beg to go because they LOVE the childcare. I am always so grateful they talk me into it and leave feeling SO GOOD! Its nice they have so many classes you can try as well. Ive recently learned to play pickle-ball and am addicted to Elaines Yoga class.
We just finished parent-child swim lessons at the Y and we loved it! My son became more confident in the water, learned basics, and important safety rules. I know we will go back for more swim lessons in the future! We love their programs!
Im a relatively new member, but they have made it very easy to jump into his classes and workout options. Shout out to Drew who has been a great motivator and resource to get started!
Nice Place with great community vibe. Did you know the YMCA supports our community in many different ways? Amazing Place for all, join now so you can be cool like me.
Besides some of the occasional not so respectful members, I really love this place. I’ve gone here for years and all of the workers are so friendly and most of them know me by my name. It’s a great Y.
They don’t let u swim
I take several classes throughout the week, they hard and my class mates inspire me to keep coming back. The instructors are great. Combined it helps me stay on track to meet my fitness goals. I have also met goods friends there . I recommend it!Daryl Lamb
Just joined and had my free training session. Kit gave be a lot of hands on knowledge so I can be confident in my workouts. Everyone is very friendly and helpful!!
Great place for me to lift weights. They have a sign painted on the wall in the weight room that says 9 and up with orientation. They kicked my 9 year old out while we were lifting after orientation. Both of us were being respectful using dumbells and machines. Now I lift with my wife, 9 & 8 year old at Homefront Fitness.
This is one of the best YMCA s I have ever been too. One of the largest too. There is an indoor walking track & indoor pool with a viewing area on the top floor, gym, basketball, Kickboxing, spin room, group exercise room, yoga, Tai Chi, cardio equipment on the top floor, friendly staff, kids play room while you exercise.
When my children were young we had a program membership. My kids went to Y care after school, and we also participated in the youth basketball leagues. More recently I used the weights and cardio equipment at the YMCA for a few months before my schedule got too busy, which eventually led me to canceling my membership. Now my youngest has a membership and he plays basketball there a few evenings a week. All of our experiences at the Washington YMCA have been positive. Now that all of my kids can drive and my schedule is opening up a little in the evenings, I am considering coming back sometime soon. The free month might be a good kick start for me! ;)
I absolutely love this Y!! I have never felt stronger and the friendships I have made I know will last a lifetime! The instructors and staff are friendly and happy and great you with a smile everyday!!
Ive been here with my dad a year ago a couple times to play in the gym and I was wondering if you guys have a trainer for me to get stronger and faster
The classes and instructors are great and make you feel so welcome! The child care is great to have and the staff are so sweet to my kids! My boys love the swim lessons and have learned so much!!
Very helpful, easy sign up for membership!
I have been a member for several years now. I mainly use the pool but have used the equipment upstairs also. The facility is always clean, supplies plentiful, and staff friendly. You cant beat Kindel for water aerobics or swimming classes.
Im so grateful to have the Y before/after school & summer camp programs available in our area. YMCA is a great Christian organization.
I love sharing time at the Four Rivers YMCA. The wonderful staff is very welcoming. The classes provide a wonderful opportunity to stay in shape. Beginning Babies With Books provides a great opportunity to give back to the community by modeling reading to parents and children.
It is so amazing there I love the swimming lessons it helps me get more fit. I love the workout room and there is also a room where you can go put your kids if you need to work out. Definitely try out the ymca
Four Rivers Family YMCA does a good job of making exercise a positive experience. I am not someone who naturally enjoys working out, but the Y really encourages me.
I absolutely love this place. I started playing pickle ball in November in an attempt to rebuild my stamina following cancer treatment and it has been really helpful...and so much fun!! Everyone here couldnt be nicer. Jeanine who leads our Live Strong program (for cancer survivors) is AWESOME. I am so thankful to the YMCA and I consider this an investment in my health.
Love this Y. clean facility. Wonderful staff. Love my personal trainer!!Stacy Oliver Neal
The four rivers Y is awesome. Great and knowledgeable staff and a welcoming community. I’ve been associated with them for 15 years or so, and don’t regret it for a moment.
My family joined the Four Rivers YMCA in May and could not be happier with their programs and fantastic staff! My 5 year old son attended summer camp and is currently enrolled in after school care! We look forward to enrolling him in sport programs also!
Great place too go work out and very clean place in all the areas. Except when they have work out going in classes. They play the music so loud you cant even talk to someone very well when your walking the track. They need to turn it down they need too think about people that are wearing hearing aids . They dont need to play the music that LOUD.
Best place for working out Yoga, Body pump and Pilates are excellent classes. Another first class establishment for non judgemental performance.
This place is wonderful. The staff is very very helpful and friendly, the equipment is in excellent condition, and the locker rooms are always very clean.4 stars only because of a lack of parking. My wife is pregnant and often she has to walk all the way from the back of the lot.
Nice people, lots of fun free classes. Your insurance probably covers the cost of membership.
Cheerful and Helpful Staff! Bright and Clean Atmosphere! Always a GOOD WORKOUT!
Beautiful facility, clean, great selection of classes and cardio equipment. friendly and helpful staff.
Great organization and gym. Friendly and helpful staff. Great community feel.
Fantastic place to do exercise, while your kids are at the nursery. I love the gym and all the programs offered there. Come and join the YMCA...!!!
Do plumbing repairs and other plumbing related issues for them for bond plumbing. Dean is a great person to work with very helpful and friendly
Great place to workout, always interesting programs and very capable and friendly crew. My only complain would be the lack of space for swimming
Friendly people who greet you as you enter. Many classes for all fitness levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes.
This YMCA has a variety of employees with different talents. I suppose. Some are courteous and provide rather descent customer service and some exemplify abnormal behavior. Case and point- theres a very peculiar behaving staff member, she looks to be in her late 50s to late 60s, blondish-gray hair, and average build. Im not sure what particular area of the gym she is assigned to -but if I have to guess- its the aquatic department, or maintenance; owing to the fact that shes mainly in the locker room or the pool area. She appears to enjoy stairing at children with a hostile countenance. The behavior is bizarre. The children can be wellbehaved, but she will try to make them feel uncomfortable. I find this behavior deliberate and passive aggressive. Im emphatically disgusted by the behavior. When you bring children to this Y make sure you keep a close eye on them. I see all these positive reviews, but all is not well here.
Great place to spend the morning. Wide variety of classes, lots of equipment, clean, and helpful staff.
Love my Y. The staff is ALWAYS friendly. Place is very clean. Many options as far as the type of workout you need. I recommend highly!!
This place is so very friendly. Love it!
Love this Y! Wish we had an area for bumper plates
They are keeping very clean with everything going on. I couldnt wait to get back to the gym!
They have my favorite precor machines and the cost of membership is reasonable and you get more bang for your buck compared to other places in Washmo
Super friendly and caring staff at Four Rivers Y!
Love the Y! It’s a great place for my whole family.
I am here almost every day. The friendly staff, pleasant environment, and clean facility keep me coming back.
Have been members several years! Love the family here!
Love this place!!! Kindall & Eileen are my favorite!
A great facility all around and they host a lot of great events!
Love this place, very clean and friendly.
Friendly staff, clean and great community feel!
I enjoyed my time there. The only issue I have had was with one of there trainers Stacy not willing to share equipment and being rude to me.
The facilities are relatively nice. Theres a gentleman on staff that works very hard to keep the machines clean. On the other hand, the patrons could do a better job and clean up after themselves. Wiping the machines down after usage is not a common practice. However; cleanliness is the least annoying factor about this particular YMCA. There appears to be a problem with microaggressive behavior. The staff demonstrates both intrusive and pretentious deportment along with some of the members. If my family and I could just workout in peace- the employees here could actually boast of helping the organization accomplish its mission statement - which in part states We will also create a welcoming environment for people to feel comfortable to explore spiritual matters and grow in Christian faith if they choose.Unfortunately, the staff members here are misaligned with the YMCAs mission statement, thereby making it a dredge to fulfill spiritual and physical goals. But my family and I are determined to reach our aim despite the malice that is practiced. Cultural sensitivity training is in order but Im not holding my breath for the hope of that ever happening. Washington, Mo is predominately a homogenous environment, which historically has struggled with change.
Always friendly and love the Zumba class!
Everything about this place is wonderful, if they sold food I wouldn’t leave.
Excellent gym facility. Child watch service for parents during work out.
Great selection of work out items and helpful staff.
Beautiful facility. Pricey and lots of rules. Sports are not competitive at all.
I am a lifeguard here and say that this is the nicest Y I have been to.
