I would recommend Tenleytown automotive Exxon. The mechanic I worked with was very friendly, attentive, and professional. The work was done quickly and the services offered were very clearly explained.
Closed in the middle of the day on a saturday... no excuses not many gas stations around here
This is my go-to spot for all of my car repair needs. The service is efficient, friendly and well done every single time. I routinely visit with urgent concerns about my vehicle and i’m in and out within a small window. These guys are awesome. I 100% recommend using them for your car repairs and servicing.
I was in DC moving my son into his new apartment and my car broke down. Tom and Abad were very helpful. Connected us with a towing service and fixed our car. So thankful for their help and quick turn around. Highly recommend.
This is a excellent garage car service. The mechanic/technician ABED is a very knowledgeable experienced and honest professional who charges very reasonably....he has saved me and my friends thousands of dollars.....thanks to him my two 18 year old vehicles (Jaguar & PT cruiser) run like new! Highly recommend Abed
The mechanics and employees at this location provided excellent service. Went in for a battery change and they were able to get it done for me in a matter of minutes. Proficient and efficient.
I have taken my car to Abed for 20 years even as his location has changed. He is a good man. I trust him and his work. He always keeps his word and is the kind of mechanic you can trust with the car that holds your family.
I have used mechanic Abd for fifteen years. Honest, expert service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
I followed Abed to this shop after he moved here from the Exxon in Adams Morgan when that was demolished. He has taken care of my cars for years and is not only an excellent mechanic but he is utterly honest and a very kind person. I was *happy* when the warranty ran out on my newer car so i could forget about the dealership and bring my car to Abed. My highest recommendation!
Tenley Automotive has reliably given me prompt, attentive, and (not least by a longshot) honest service whenever Ive needed it. Highly recommended!
I was very pleased with how easy it was to make an appointment, how professional and friendly the staff was, and the care they took with my car. The prices are reasonable and I was called before they did any additional work.
These guys are so great!!! Always get me in when I need them and contact me first before beginning any repairs to discuss cost! Its so convenient having them down the street - they are honest and get the job done!
Quickly plugged a leaking tire. This is the 4th time Ive had to go to them to get a nail or screw hole plugged, as theres a lot of construction in the neighborhood. Theyre fast and friendly.
I accidently put windsheild washer fluid into the collant reservoir of my electric car. I called Tenleytown Automotive and they gave me an appointment right away to flush and refill the radiator. While I was there, I asked them to rotate the tires. That they took such good care of me is especially noteworthy given that my electric car requires no maintenance.
I have been going here for years. They have always been friendly, professional, and effective. They have always gotten me car working again in a timely manner.
Have car problems? This is the place - keep reading!I have known the lead mechanic, Abed, here at Tenlytown Exxon, since he was the lead mechanic at the Exxon in Adams Morgan (before it was torn down to make condos)I trust, and have trusted him, with all of my cars, for most of my adult life. There is no other mechanic in DC that I use anymore - Besides fixing unplanned issues, he has also installed countless mods to my performance cars! M series exhaust kits, suspension upgrades. BMW, Audi, Dodge SRT.In his 40+ year career, the man has worked on every single kind or car under the sun! If he cannot do it, he’s not going to waste your time - he will tell you If it’s something only a dealer can do.I have never recommended him to someone. and then have that person return to me with anything other than “Oh my god, thank you for introducing me to that mechanic!”Take you car, or have it towed to him. He will give you the real honest answers. God knows how many thousands of dollars I have saved by going to this guy over the years. He has been at Tenlytown Exxon for the past decade or more, and I love the brand new management there - you will too!My car advise, is sage advise - DON’T screw around with people we don’t know. Somethings up with your car? Before the dealer, stop by and talk to a real mechanic - go see Abed, tell him Leo sent you!See you around the neighborhood :)!LK
Tom was very knowledgeable about my Volkswagen, and very professional. Service was performed same day, I will be back (unless my 04 VW never has another problem, yeah right).
As usual, all went smoothly and the car works better now.
Great efficient and economic. Thanks again!
Great experience. Quick service and very nice.We were visiting from out of town when our car died New Years Day. They got us back on the road first thing the next morning.
Great price for in DC. Was there when I was stuck in Chevy Case with near empty tank.
Professional and prompt service.
I have been going to the Tinleytown Exxon for years. Have always had excellent service and very timely service.
This station put in a starter for my Mercedes E320 4matic. Quality work performed in 1 day. Its been 7 months no problems. The service is pleasant. The lead me panic isnt much for words but his work speaks volumes for the quality he puts forth.
The staff was helpful.
Unprofessional and incompetent service. They overfilled my car with oil. The manager took no ownership on this when asked for a refund for subsequent repairs due to their mistake. He got angry and yelled something about basic math which didnt make any sense since I still ended up paying for the repairs. I cannot recommend this place. If you need a good, honest mechanic go to DP Auto on Connecticut Ave and steer clear of this place.
On columbus day, I searched high and low for a gas station that could give my car an oil change while I waited. I called about seven stations in the area and was turned away. They either were fully booked or had an eight car wait. Almost all were charging 25% more than this station. I rolled up to this station and was in and out in 45 minutes. Highly recommend!
Great customer service!
Had a screw in my tire. Had it plugged and was in and out in 5 minutes. Thank you!
I had a small leak in my tire. I stopped by and 15 minutes later they were able to plug it and I was on my way. Great service! This comes days after I got the car back from the Mercedes dealer and they said they couldnt find a problem.... Mmmhmmm thanks Exon!
Let me start this review by saying the gentleman who runs the shop is very polite and I think he means well. That being said, don’t go to this shop. My Jeep Cherokee was broken into, I called my insurance company who handled much of the claim and organized a tow to a repair shop that I decided on. Initially, I wanted my Jeep to go to Guaranis and when the tow truck driver brought it there he called me to say “they can’t work on your ignition, let me bring it to my shop in Tenley Town.” Suspect, but I still said yes against my better judgement. I picked up my Jeep a couple days later, it was FILTHY, inside and out. The steering wheel and drivers side door were covered in grease and there was ash all over the place. As I pulled away from the shop, I noticed that the lights, turn signals and hazards did not work. I came back, they fixed it on the spot. Fast forward a week later, I notice that my cruise control does not work. I took a day off from work and drove it back to the shop only to be told that they can’t work on cruise control there, so now I have to file another claim and put my Jeep back in another shop. It’s all very trying. Again, the guy who runs this shop is very polite and I don’t think he’s trying to scam me, he just doesn’t have good mechanics working for him and they don’t quality check their work. Do not go here for repairs.
I went in to get a shock absorber fixed in my suspension. They told me that it would be about $800 to replace the system. Since it was an old car, I had them put it in. About two weeks later, I noticed that my tire had been shredded down to the radial from driving around D.C. I assumed it was from the old suspension being broken. I replaced the tires, and two weeks later drove back home to New York. When I got out at home, I noticed the same exact problem. The mechanics clearly have no idea what they are doing, and cost me about $400 dollars in tires.
What can I say to you? This gas station is located directly off Wisconsin Ave NW...in DC.
Winston the mechanic is great and has 40+ years of experience, but manager is very unprofessional and charged me an extra 50 dollars to tell me I needed spark plugs. .so I paid 100 dollars for an oil change 🤔
Not very friendly like most of the gas stations in DC.I think that people who work in gas stations need to take a customer service course. They know people need gas so they feel that they can treat anyone anyway they want.Sorry I didnt mean to give it any stars .I give it zero stars
Great service good mecaniicks
Hassle free and quick service
Very high prices on gas and still they dont clean at all the snow. So disgusting!
In and out just like any gad station
Sucks extremely small
So expensive
