Does your mechanic respond to your emails while your transmission is on the fritz while on vacation 4 states away? Mine does. And boy did that help when I was dealing with unfamiliar mechanics who *could* want to take advantage of a female tourist who isnt sure how shell be getting home. They always do great work and fast. And theyre actually not charging my any more to replace my entire transmission than they were going to in SC, so I guess their prices are pretty reasonable for being in the middle of an expensive city too.
I needed a tire replaced for my 2015 Maserati and this place had the best ratings so I chose them to have my tire shipped to and put on. The only way to correspond is by email. They do not EVER answer the phone. That should of been the first red flag. The tire arrived on Thursday and they replied that it would have to be on Friday. I needed it changed because they were closed on Saturday and Sunday. I emailed them all day long and never got a response. Finally I decided to go pick it up and take it somewhere else. When I arrived at the shop, not one person greeted me, asked if they could help me or even acknowledged I was there. Even when I said hello and asked if someone could help me, they all ignored me. Chris who I had been responding with was in his office and when I said hello, he also never looked up from his desk. I asked if he was Chris and still nothing. At this point I was blown away because by now at least 10 employees had walked past me and not one said a single word. I finally went up to the door that was marked employees only and asked again if he was Chris. He replies back,”what do you need”? I said to him, “thank you for replying to my emails” and he said “yeah you and the other 400”.I have no idea how they stay in business with no phone contact and such unprofessional staff and customer service. I would NEVER EVER use them again no matter the situation. I have no idea how they are still in business.
Our car was hit while parked and all scraped up on the side including a smashed side-view mirror. They helped us get the insurance company to change their estimate and quickly did the must do work so we could get back on the road again. Great team!
A similar story to another customer who got no service despite an appointment. We were going to be visiting DC and booked an oil change and tire rotation based on Capitol Hill’s good service when we used to live here. But something has changed. I think Chris is overbooked and needs more office help. You can’t get a live answer or leave a message. You have to email. And Chris does not acknowledge you for several minutes when you stand at the office window in front of dozens of clipboards with work orders and keys on them. Our car was there for most of two days with no communication — no call or email with an update. When we showed up in person to claim our car because we had to get on the road, there was not even an apology. Very disappointed. One star for good service in the past. One for what happened on this, our final visit.
Chris and his team were fantastic, they diagnosed the issue with the car accurately and timely, ordered parts and had the repair done efficiently and professionally. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend! They live up to their google rating.I connected Capitol Hill Auto Service (CHAS) through the google maps/message/chat/browser thing (Which I didnt know you could do) - I told them the issue with my 2007 BMW 328i ABS unit.Communicated with Chris - very communicative over emails and messages. Gave a reasonable quote, timeline and I was comfortable asking for updates. Will definitely take my business there again.
Very friendly, flexible, and professional. Will definitely return for any car needs.
Honestly dont know how this place stays in business. Rude staff no email response maybe the guy at the desk was having a bad day but seriously I would never go back there
I was very satisfied with the body work. I brought in an SUV with over a decade of scratches, dents, and even rust. After initially looking to replace an entire door due to rust, these experts were able to save the door and remove the rust. Now the whole car looks brand new despite being made in 2009. High quality service and labor.
This place is a local gem, Chris is not just knowledgeable but also attentive, flexible, and most important of all: open and honest, a key quality for someone you entrust your car and your wallet to!
Great experience! They work quickly and for a fair price. Highly recommend.
You’re going to love these guys. Chris, the owner, and Ryan, the manager, at Capitol Hill Auto Service are true professionals and really know their cars. Youre also going to love them because—and this is absolutely essential when dealing with mechanics—you can trust them, I mean, totally trust them. Ive relied on them for a decade to keep my ancient VW Passat (18 years old) in good running order at a fair and reasonable price.Example: my electronic ABS module failed 10 years ago, and Ryan told me that a new OEM unit would cost $1200; so, I found an ex-aerospace engineer to rebuild it for $125. Ryan covered the exposed hydraulics with aluminum foil and tape so I could operate the car until the rebuilt module arrived a few days later. Ryan installed it, and it’s worked perfectly ever since. How many other auto mechanics would be this smart, this flexible, this accommodating, this helpful, this reasonable? Thats right--none.Entrust your car to CHAS--youll never regret it.
I really like this place. I ended up here based on a recommendation from my partner who has been bringing her car here for years. Its a no frills kind of shop, which I honestly prefer. They figure out whats wrong and they fix it. For a reasonable price. Theres no scamming or add-ons. I came in with a 20 year old truck needing quite a few major repairs (ball joints, valve cover gaskets, timing belt, etc) and they put together a list and estimated costs and got the job done right. Youre not going to get them on the phone, but if youre ok with emails/messaging, youre not going to find a better place in the city.
They are the best. Mr. Chris thank you for everything! I would recommend you guys to everyone.
Chris did a great engine repair for me! He came in with a price substantially lower than other prices in the area, and worked quickly so my car was available for me to get to work the next day. Highly recommend!
Honest mechanics. Theyre upfront with the labor rate ($120/hr) and dont try to cheat you out of anything. I took my car here for a 2nd opinion for shocks/struts from Fitzgerald Hyundai telling me I needed new ones (a $1700 job there). What a load of bs they gave me. Turns out I just needed a 4 wheel alighment. Thanks again for the no nonsense explanation and work done on my car.
Poorly managed and run. Theyve gone to online appointments...which made a bad situation WORSE!! Non-responsive and the overall demeanor is that they are doing YOU a favor! Would NOT recommend...AT ALL!!!
It seems they only communicate via email. No text. No voice. I dont think this is the most effective way to work with your customers. The work seemed to be ok, but they had my vehicle from Monday early am to Friday late afternoon for mostly routine maintenance work with 1 diagnostic effort that wasnt quite routine. I was looking for a shop to handle my recently acquired vehicle and went because of the rave reviews and proximity to Metro. I dont understand the rave reviews. Just average to me.
While they are on the cheaper end for DC, service can be hit or miss with this shop.Ive taken my car to this shop a few times over the years mostly for check engine issues/fixes and while they were able to resolve the problems in the short term, I came to find they were using bad parts or aftermarket parts which created other problems. The first time was for a thermostat. They ended up redoing the work about 2 months after the initial (it was under warranty - so no charge). The second problem was bad engine coils which I discovered because another mechanic actually showed me there were aftermarket ones put in my car, which practically had the car running on low power. I own a Mini cooper and thats a major faux pas when it comes to this line of car.If you own German cars, be careful here. I know one of the owners is supposed to be a specialist with high end European cars but they cut corners with the parts which can lead to other costly repairs.Scheduling and communication is also a headache here. Phone calls almost never answered, work not explained thoroughly, and just a rush rush job.If you have a standard car that just needs simple repairs here and there, Id recommend them but if you have a luxury car that needs specific work (engine, etc), youre probably better off elsewhere even if its a little more expensive.
This place was absolutely fantastic and a life saver. I rarely write reviews but they deserve it. I was moving/driving across country on a Tuesday and got in an accident that Friday before and my car would not have been able to make it. I went to multiple places and these guys were the only ones who worked hard to get a part in and make it happen for me. They are quick, fairly priced and very nice. Highly recommend.
Have taken multiple vehicles to Cap Hill for multiple issues. Chris and the team are quick, professional, effective and affordable. Will be taking my cars here until I move out of the DMV.
I found this business on (RepairPal.com) where they give you an option to make an appointment. I made an appointment and arrived only to find out that I was expected to park my car on the street, which was packed due to quarantine. I had to loop around and find a parking space, then walk to the auto shop. I was approached by one of the mechanics (without a mask on) and spoke to someone at the front desk who said that everything is by first-come, first-serve not by appointment and I would have to leave my car for the day. I only came to see about repairing my cars antenna (which I told one of mechanics there beforehand). I would have been fine with this, if someone from the establishment had called, emailed or texted me to prepare me for the visit, none of that was done.
Chris was wonderful, the communication was great, and Im almost happy my car decided to die there rather than closer to another service shop!
My car AC wasnt working properly. So I visited Capital Hill. They solved my problem in half an hour. Thanks guys. Highly Recommended!!!
After seeing an overwhelming amount of positive review for them on Yelp I decided to bring my 13 Lexus GS here to have my sway bar end links and front axle replaced. After having them done, there was a momentary vibration coming at low speeds. Chris and Ryan kept me in the loop about what the issues could be and in the end were able to determine that it was low transmission fluid and possibly an additive or incorrect fluid used when I had done a transmission drain and fill at another mechanic earlier in the month. I wouldnt recommend calling their number since I was never able to get through to them. Why? Because when I went there I saw how busy they are which is a great sign. Chris is always in front of the computer replying to emails, answering customers questions. If not, hes talking to customers who are coming to pick up or drop off their car. I was praising their work to my friend yesterday after getting the car back and coincidentally he had gone to them just a little while before I did to get his tires mounted and also had great things to say about Chris and his team.Capitol Hill Auto Services did a fantastic job getting my 8 year old, 100K mile car feeling like new again. I love my car even more now and will only trust Chris and Ryan to work on her from now on. You should too.
I took my 03 Subaru Forester to Capitol Hill Auto Service a few times, for a reappearing check engine light and when my alternator gave up the ghost. The staff were friendly, helpful, and straightforward about what repairs were needed vs. what could wait. The prices were great, and the service was always quick. I appreciated their hours, which let me drop off my car before work instead of taking time off. I recommend them to all my friends needing repairs in DC.
Someone had side-swiped our car overnight and needed body work and a mirror fixed. We have used Capitol Hill Auto Service before for oil changes and tire rotations but did not know they did minor body work as well. They ordered the parts after assessing it and as soon as the parts came in they had it done in just 2 days. I highly recommended the CHAS team.
Communication is non existent . Honestly didnt see the hype from the comments . Had to keep showing up because phone is not answered at all . Chris doesnt explain anything either .. more so like your bothering him . Maybe its just a hit or miss going by these comments but for me definitely a miss and complete hype .
I had made an appointment to have my new (used) car looked over. I had emailed to make an appointment a week before the appointment date and had it confirmed. I arrived at 8:15am (I was told they opened at 8am) to drop my car off. It took about 5 minutes to even get the attention of the person working (I believe it was the owner) when standing right in front of his office and knocking on the door. Once I got his attention, he told me that they were full and it was unlikely hed be able to service my car. I explained I had made an appointment, and he seemed confused by that - it was clear to me that he does not keep track of appointments. He asked me what it was in for, and I explained that I just wanted my new car looked over. He assured me it could be done that day.I didnt hear anything for the rest of the day. I called around 4pm to see what the status was, and called four times and the phone just rang without a way to leave a message. I was worried they would close before I could get my car and so I went over there to see what was happening. I arrived to find out that my car had not been serviced, and was still parked exactly how it was that morning. I asked what had happened, and the owner just shrugged and said that he didnt get to it. I asked for my keys back and left. It was a huge waste of my day and ended up costing me about $20 in transport to and from the auto shop from my house. I was so disappointed, especially because this auto shop was rated so highly and came highly recommended by Best of DC. Unfortunately, I had a less than stellar experience and will absolutely not be returning.
I think this is my 4th time here and my 3rd vehicle since moving to DC in 2013. Each time Chris and his team has been phenomenal. Im a car guy and understand car talk, but the team takes the time to explain at any level. They almost always have a line and somehow manage that constant traffic efficiently so it doesnt feel like youre waiting long. (A line like this at the dealership would be hours)Pricing is competitive, and fair for the quality of work. You dont end up like some other shops and get your car back from a tire change with the locking lugs sitting in the cupholder. Everything is checked and double-checked for computer codes etc.If I had any complaints it would be that theyre closed on weekends, but I know they need that time off. After a couple of false starts with other shops in the area Ive found my home shop as long as Im in DC.
I had my car at the dealership and for months they couldnt figure out why it constantly misfired. I paid for coils, spark plugs and then they wanted to change my injectors. The car had 50,000 miles on it. After 3 months and almost $1,600 and no progress, I took my car here and got a diagnosis in 2 days. Needed motor mounts. My car was fixed within 2 additional days and the price was exceptional. Thank you Capital Hill Auto.
Ive always had outstanding service at this place - timely repairs, very fair pricing, and great staff. Work gets done quickly and well.Of note - a few years ago, I walked to my car to leave for a roadtrip home to visit my parents and found a to-the-pavement flat tire. I was a regular customer at this point and called them and asked if I could replace the tire and bring it in to get a replacement on that day (that car only had a donut tire). They said they were totally slammed and apologized, and I asked them to give me a call if they unexpectedly had anything open up since this came up when I was supposed to be leaving town and I was happy to pay extra for the trouble. I think the manager remembered my car and asked where I lived - I told him (about four blocks away) and he said theyd give me a call back later and try to work me in as soon as they could.Did they give me a call to tell me about a new appointment? Nope, better. When they called, it was to tell me that a mechanic walked to my car, inspected the tire, reinflated it (it was apparently a rare occurrence where some rubber from the manufacturing just got in the seal and deflated it - they cleaned it, made sure there were no other spots, and said it was safe to drive on), and said it was safe to drive. No charge.Above and beyond service. Im a loyal, happy customer here and always refer anyone in the DC area to this shop.
Honest mechanics and quality service at a reasonable price, conveniently located on Capitol Hill. Cant ask for much more. You wont regret taking your vehicle here for service.
I actually found Capital Hill Auto Service on Yelp on a whim at work. I drive in from Arlington every day and needed a shop that was quick, efficient and trustworthy. They have been all of that and more. They respond quickly to messages sent through Yelp, they are upfront about pricing and timing and I recommend them out to everyone I know in the area and have no qualms about doing it! They will be my go to as long as I’m here!
Great service and communication. I would trust them to do anything on my vehicle. What I thought might be a complex and expensive fix turned out to be a gas cap... Also installed 4 new tires. I hope not to be in need of their services but if I do, will be first shop I call. Thanks!
I called these folks because my daughters VW Jetta broke down as she was passing through Washington DC. When I called and told them the situation, they not only got the car in immediately, but they diagnosed and repaired two major system malfunctions inside of a couple of days for us so she could get back on the road on time. And they salvaged some parts we would otherwise have had to pay for, so it cost $500 less than wed projected. Dont take your car anywhere else!
Well deserved 5-stars...they could have easily gotten over on me because the dealership quoted me $1500+ to fix my Mazda CX-7. Therefore, I was prepared for a large bill but they quickly found the issue and had me on my way for ~$200
I was told I’d receive a call with a quote after I dropped of my car. I called that afternoon after hearing nothing and was told I’d be given a call later in the day with a diagnosis and quote, only to be left a voicemail the next morning saying that the work had been completed. I’m pretty certain that to repair a car without authorization isn’t legal, and I was extremely frustrated when the bill came up far more expensive than I had anticipated without the ability for me to price compare with another mechanic. Don’t plan on coming back here
I brought my old car there, that needed a lot of work. They called me, told me it wasnt worth putting any money into, and shouldnt be driving it anymore. They were upfront and honest instead of trying to sell me on major repairs. They gave me advice on donating it didnt charge me for taking a look. Id definitely bring my next car here.
These guys are always the best. No bull, they just do the work. Fair price and they do what they say they will do.
Was really easy to drop car off and pick it up after the day. They were really friendly and couldn’t have been a more pleasant experience. Will be going back for other car needs.
I went in a skeptic (reasonably so considering the stigma around mechanics) and left an ambassador. I had such a great experience with Chris and the team at Capitol Hill Auto Service Center. Heres why:1) Service: My Toyota Camry broke down randomly during a week where I needed it the most. Despite the holiday rush, Chris committed to fixing it (lifesaver!). He was great at communication, setting expectations, and treated my car like his own. Chris and his team are more than trustworthy and fair!2) Price: In the end, I had to get our car battery replaced. Googling how much that would cost, I found it would likely be a $350-$375 bill. To my surprise, the bill was just over $200 and Chris included checking my car for free!3) Location: Its in a historic auto body shop on Capitol Hill just a few blocks from the Eastern Market Metro on the Orange/Blue/Silver line, making it convenient to take public transit after dropping off your car. In case you need to treat yourself after the stress of car problems, there are several good coffee shops nearby (Peregrine, Little Pearl, Bourbon, etc). When I reached out to my DC network for auto body recommendations, every single one pointed me to Chris and his team. A 4.5 Yelp star rating confirmed my visit. Ill never go to another mechanic in Washington, D.C.!
Never find parking to unload vehicle from tow 🚚
Always great service. Honest and fair pricing too. Been going there for many years.
I found out I had a cracked rim and my insurance would cover it. I usually take my car to the dealership. But after a lot of back and forth and no call backs, I decided to go elsewhere. I contacted Capitol Hill Auto Service, I emailed all the information, they ordered the wheel and tire, they came within a day or so, I dropped off in the morning, picked up after work and was on my way. They handled the claim, I paid my deductible, no worries. Was a very smooth transaction for me. I will definitely consider using them instead of the dealership for future repairs. Thanks Chris!
Big fan ... These guys are excellent mechanics. I had a busted front suspension coil and they gave me a couple of options for repair and explained everything without talking down or being pushy. Really appreciate their attention to detail and kindness. Highly recommended.
Fast service with good intentions. What more could you ask from your mechanic? Oh....great communication? Yes, they have that too! This is a VERY strong recommendation. Ill be back for sure!
I was quite impressed with the service at this place. I came in for an oil change and a routine check-up and I felt they were completely honest. The price was very fair for the services they provided and at no point in time did I feel they were pitching me something I didnt need. They are pretty busy so I wouldnt expect to get in and out quickly, but that is a small price to pay for having an honest mechanic. I would highly recommend this to anyone in need of work done on their car.
My wife and I were in town visiting from Cincinnati, OH and about a mile away from the place we were staying, my brakes started grinding. I called Chris and he told me to bring it in. This was a Friday afternoon and he was able to get car parts ordered next day delivery and get my car fixed so we could leave Monday. I would recommend Capitol Hill Auto to anyone!
Went with a friend of mine to have some tires mounted on his new wheels today. The care that the shop took in mounting them is unsurpassed. The shop even offered to color match the balancing weights, and when a center cap went missing (pretty sure my friend lost it), they offered to reimburse him in full if he chose to order a new one. Highly recommend this shoo for any of your automotive service needs. Another friend of mine had his twin turbos rebuilt for his Camaro here with flawless work. Go here!
Great local shop with fair prices and quick responses. They do a great job of diagnosing tough problems and letting you know the best fix. I have been bringing my car here for 3 years and wont go anywhere else.
Great service. Not too expensive. Only fixed what needed to be fixed. Went in with an unknown cylinder misfiring. They diagnosed the cylinder. Replaced the ignition coil and all the spark plugs and had the car back to me the next day in time for a weekend trip. Incredible turnaround. Very pleased with the service and the prices.
This team is the best. I ran into a problem which prevented me from driving during my travel (with a relatively straightforward replacement). After talking to many other shops, all of whom immediately tried to upsell or use scare tactics on me, I found Chris and his group. They were non-fussy, the most fair price by far, and got it done within the day - only made possible because they helped hustle to get the parts ordered. His shop is jam packed with cars all day. They are quite busy so I checked in proactively for an update, but it was all done professionally. Its not often you get no-nonsense specialists who can jump right in and feel trustworthy. Would recommend.
Quick. Courteous (by DC standards). Convenient. These folks are the real deal. Its best to schedule a time to bring in your vehicle. My only complaint is that theres only street parking, so one time they misplaced my car. I walked around a couple of blocks and found it. It was actually funny in hindsight.
Fair pricing and quick. Chris you are the man!I will say every time Ive been there Chris has been able to pinpoint each time what is wrong with my car however... simply put he can be rude and a bit abrasive. Im sure its just a personality thing but the shop lacks professionalism and since he was rude to my wife she doesnt want to use the shop. Solid shop just lacks customer service.
Highly recommend! Chris is the best. Super communicative, affordable, honest and great customer service. The only mechanic I trust and go back to again and again in DC. Look no further you have found the only mechanic you will ever need.
Good customer service 5 star
Knowledgeable, honest and reasonably priced. They have handled everything from basic thermostat replacement to a full engine swap. This is a great shop, and it shows with how busy they are all year.
Best repair shop in DC. I drive all the across town just to have them service my car. Their rates and services are great every time.
Highest recommendation possible, they are outstanding! Im a new car owner in the district, and my car is a salvage which, unbeknownst to me, has a ton of extra hoops to jump through. Long story short, the car failed the salvage inspection because of the starter battery, and I immediately called Cap Hill Auto Service. They talked me through each of the errors, ran a diagnostic, and called me before they did any work. They really made me feel like I had an advocate and I knew they werent going to take advantage of me. As a young adult, this was the easiest part of the process for me. Really amazing.Update: Thanks to their guidance and work my car was able to pass inspection! I could not be more pleased. They will have my business for as long as I am in DC.
Ive had several exotic cars over the years and have worked with many mechanics across the country. Ryan is one of the best mechanics Ive worked with. He comes in early, stays late, pays great attention to detail, makes sure everything is done right the first time, and always makes sure each customer is satisfied. He has performed great aftermarket work on my Audi and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend him to anyone that needs work done.
Amazing service! I picked up a screw in my tire and stopped by at 4 the Friday before Christmas. Instead of turning me away with a full shop and closing until the new year, Chris did everything he could to accommodate me and got the fix in about 30 minutes. Will definitely be back for anything else I may need!
Nice people and reasonably priced. I would go back if I didnt live so far away. Its nice to deal with people who have a clue and arent trying to rip you off. A reasonable honest mechanic is a hard thing to find these days and Im glad I found these folks.
After spending a few thousand dollars to fix a check engine light on my 2004 325I, I decided to give these guys a chance because they had done excellent work on my ford fusion and the prices were great. At any rate, these guys fixed my check engine light on the first go.........no excuses for why the light was still there like other shops.........they did it right the first time.I was kind of confused when the lady told me that it had passed because I had received so many extensions that I had become accustomed to just getting a one month extension and paying 30 bucks every month but not this time. I thank you guys for your honesty, hard work and knowledge of knowing how to get it right the first time.Thank you
Chis and Ryan took care of me and my car like I was a close friend. When my car broke down on 295 (in the snow) they told me who to call and to tow directly to the shop. They were articulate and patient with me through the decisions about repairs. Chris knows who I am when I walk in the shop or call him with a question. Great customer service with a trustworthy staff. They are honest and upfront about the pricing for repairs that are needed, and willing to answer any questions. I would recommend these guys to anyone in the DC and/or Capitol Hill area!
I brought my car in to get a new battery and they took the extra step of adding more air to my tires so the tire pressure light would turn off (which I had been meaning to do, but had just been too lazy to get around to). Even if it was a small thing, I really appreciated them taking that extra step to help me out.
Superb customer service. We’ve been able to hold off on getting a new car because they do such a good job and are always fair with us. For example, when a faulty hatch sensor was causing our battery to drain, instead of trying to up sell us on replacing the sensor ($300) they suggested simply disconnecting it ($0). We always feel confident that they will fix the problem and not overcharge is.
Great experience. One of the best I ever experienced.
Chris and Capitol Hill Auto Service hace fixed my car quickly and honestly many a time. I don’t take my car anywhere else.
They did a good job on my car. Communication could be better between the shop and the customer.
Fairly priced, reliable, always communicative over email, handles street parking. A great mechanic for routine maintenance and more.
My car fell victim to some random vandalism last weekend and I am so grateful to Chris, Ryan, and the rest of their team for their help with my car.Chris was responsive, communicative, friendly, and incredibly helpful. They worked with Progressive to start repairs as soon as possible, and they even went out of their way to help complete the repairs with respect to a deadline I was up against. This team went above and beyond my expectations - my car is in great shape, the payment process matched the Progressive quote, and they provided the most painless resolution possible to what started as a really upsetting problem.I cannot recommend them enough and they will be the first place I call for any future auto needs.
I had a great experience with Capitol Hill Auto. Thank you.
I came to DC for business and my car developed problems with its clutch. I called Capitol Hill Auto Service because they had helped me out years ago when I lived in DC and they managed to fit me in early Monday morning and get my car repaired by mid-day the next day. It was a major repair (clutch replacement and some transmission work) but they did it quickly and well. They made the extra effort to get me out on time so I could make my next commitment out of town. Great service. Busy place so just persist.
Incredibly good customer service. Quick repair, transparent about costs and options, good recommendations. In short, the best car mechanic Ive ever been to. Would buy a car just to go here :). Fantastic pillar of the local community. If you live on the Hill and your car acts up, go here. Chris and Ryan are the best
Patched my tired for a good price and incredibly fast.
Great service and fair prices. Dealer wanted to charge me 6x what these guys did to fix the same problem. Finding an honest auto shop can be difficult and I’m so happy to have found these guys.
I can always count on this Auto Repair Shop to get the job done
I would need several paragraphs to tell the story of how great Chris and the folks at capital are. We were from out of town and our car broke down passing through DC. Saw the reviews and headed to Capital Hill Auto Service. Chris took care of our car at a great price and we were in the road the next day. Thanks guys!
Asked for a quote on-line - they responded very promptly. Scheduled to bring the car in - was quick, easy, convenient. Great service. Price was reasonable for what I needed. Will definitely use them again.
This place is absolutely the best. Saved me over $1,000 off of the estimate from the dealership. I trust them completely and appreciate their honesty and helpfulness. Chris especially has been incredibly helpful every step of the way.
Extremely satisfied with my experience and my family’s experiences here. Great work always done at a great price. No rip offs or up-selling, just quality repairs.
Emergency tire repair
Good spot to get your car fix at
Chris is trustworthy, fast, and a good value.
Incredible customer service and FAIR prices, which surprised me since its in DC and DC tends to have higher prices for everything. I was using a shop in Fairfax, VA for this reason, but Capitol Hill Auto is the best price by far. I will continue giving them my business for ANY and EVERY car need. :)
I am so impressed with the service here! I had to get my car towed after hours and leave it in front of their building. They took care of the issues first thing the next day. Chris even brought to my attention that the $1,300 service that I had just gotten done at another garage should have been under warranty (which the other garage had never mentioned of course) and he was right! I was able to get a reimbursement from the manufacturer, so he seriously saved me money! Thank you so much!! Honest, and professional, I dont ever want to take my car anywhere else!
Always good fast service
The service is outstanding and the prices are the best in the local area. Its where I will always take my automobile.. Chris is the best and gives you individual attention as if you were the only persons car he is working on. I am a dedicated customer.
Chris from Capitol Hill Auto Service provided the best customer service! I had an odd situation where I had purchased a Carvana used car online, however while Carvana was transporting the car to me, they damaged the bumper. In order to fix the bumper, I had to coordinate with Carvanas third party insurance agency, Silver Rock, and both Carvana and Silver Rock were being extremely difficult and incompetent (i.e. Silver Rock required that I forward them documentation via email, and then when I called to follow-up because I hadnt received a response, they claimed that their email inbox sometimes doesnt work; and Carvana had claimed to have fixed the bumper prior to delivery, but then after multiple calls it turns out they never actually had). Silver Rock requested that the repair facility call Silver Rock and provide estimates, documentation, etc. but then would never respond to communication, and since this was all time-sensitive because the Carvana trial period was ending soon and I wanted to the issue fixed/paid for by Silver Rock before accepting the car, I was beyond stressed. Chris handled Silver Rocks incompetence exceptionally and followed up with them countless times (because Silver Rock demanded that the repair facility call them) and didnt get frustrated with me calling him countless times as well to make sure things were sorted out. In the end, we were able to move forward with the repair, and Capitol Hill Auto did a wonderful job on it! This was an extremely stressful situation for me, but they handled it really well and fixed my car perfectly!
I had issue with my car power window not rolling up. I chose the location after going through reviews on Yelp I was worried it would be expensive. Turned out to be very reasonable, fast and excellent customer experience.
Great service. Takes care of any questions or concerns one may have. Happy with the overall experience.
Gave me an accurate quote. Completed the work on time. Cheaper than the competitors. Conveniently located near a metro.
Awesome service. Staff was friendly and communicative.
I couldnt be happier with the service and quality of work done here. I brought my Honda Civic in to have the oil changed, blinker fixed, filters changed and examined for any potential issues for an upcoming road trip. My aux port also had not been working for 6 months and I asked for a quote for that as well. I was nervous my car would be in the shop forever and if end up spending a ton of money. I was charged for way less than I anticipated and my car was ready the next day. I cant recommend them any more. Youre definitely going to want to bring your car here for pretty much anything.
Best auto shop Ive been to! The staff is very knowledgeable and are very upfront about any problems and costs. They did not try to up sell me on anything. Highly recommend!
Taken my Land Rover here twice so far- both times received great service for cheaper prices than competitors quoted me.Chris is great- straight to the point, doesnt try to force any unnecessary repairs, charges only what he has to (my 2nd visit was half the price he originally quoted me).Plan on going here for all maintenance/repairs.
Front driver side window was fixed without discussing prices, much like another customers comments left here. Glass was left in the door of my vehicle that I hear every time I shut my door.
As a mechanic myself for many years, I really appreciate this shop. We are out of towners and felt treated like neighbors. Professional, quick, friendly, accurate. An amazing breath of fresh air in this town! And - they dont rob you either. (They could being in the center of everything!)
