I was so excited when I saw this small barbershop a few blocks away from my house until I was denied service by Mohamed for being a woman. I have what is considered a mens haircut, an undercut with a fade, and there was literally not one client in his shop. Who does that? Oh well, his loss...

After months closing, I thought he closed the business for good and was adding another depression situation Ive had this whole 2020 year. But, Muhamed finally opened his door again. You have no idea how happy I was few days ago when I went there. After months trying different barber shop or hair salon in DC, even VA, its just nothing like the way Mohamed does to my hair. I can see that Mohamed barber shop is practicing social distancing very well in the shop by having a sanitizing machine for his hair cut tools and putting a safe distance between guest waiting seat. Also, Mohamed work by himself and the place is big enough that I think its very safe. Need to remind you as well that its Cash only people!

First professional haircut in a year and it was great!

I had been looking for a regular barber in D.C. for six years, Search over. I love this place, very professional Old World scissor cuts. Mohamed is a worldly engaging guy if you like to talk during your haircuts. Very reasonable price. Do note that it is cash only, so hit the ATM before you go. If youve been looking for a REAL barber, this is your place.

Mohammad is the man. First time getting my haircut in DC. It’s a very straight forward haircut for $28 (before tip— cash only). I have very thick hair and I have a hard time articulating myself when I want a haircut. Like all the other reviews, it’s just him cutting hair, so you will probably have to wait if you’re just getting off a 9-5. The wait is worth it though. I normally walk out of a barber shop with a very choppy cut or a pompadour that I didn’t want. Mohammad also checked in with me through multiple steps of the cut to make sure I was getting what I wanted, which made me feel valued.He just played his own music & chopped on. Will for sure go back again.

My favorite barber in DC. Cash only, no appointments, no frills. Mohamed is fast, but he works alone, so there can be a wait sometimes. If you want something trendy or fancy, go somewhere else. But if you just need a haircut, and you want to support a hard-working guy who cares about his craft, go see Mohamed.

Muhammad took his time and really listened to me to create the style that I wanted. The shop might be a few dollars more than other barbers on the street, but I was very pleased with his service and skill. I plan on returning regularly.

Great, no frills barber shop. Ive been going to Mohamed for over a year now and he has never given me a bad haircut. Hes an old school barber who powers through cuts left and right. Just tell him what youre looking for and hell get it done. The thing that I especially appreciate about Mohamed is that if you say you want something and he has concerns that it wont turn out the way youre thinking it will, hell push back and see if thats really what youre wanting.Great haircuts from a great barber at an affordable price. A very sufficient haircut experience.I cant compare prices because I never tried a different barber in the US.Once I started talking to Mohamed, he started telling me interesting technical details about the razor and gave me great advice and hints about haircuts! I like a barber who has a good fund of thought and knowledge in his practice!Even when you can barely describe what sort of haircut you want, hes good enough to help you explain, and he does it very well.P.s. Im from Jordan. Mediterranean and Middle Eastern hair nature is more coarse than American. Mohamed had no trouble with it.

Mohamed is a great barber and an even greater guy. Hes the sole barber in his self owned shop, so be prepared to wait if you go during prime time, but the wait is with it. Also be aware that this is a cash only establishment, no credit/debit cards.

Whether youll like your haircut by Mohamed or not (of youll like it!), this is an experience you should have! Hes an old school, very thorough barber wholl repeatedly check that you like what he does. Theres background Arabic music and reasonable prices!

Very good job for the price. Nothing fancy (no shampooing or anything like that), walk- in only so avoid weekends... Best is weekday afternoons. Dont expect some sort of world class cut or color. Will do some fairly extreme styles, but basically Mohammed is just a really good BARBER, not a stylist.

He did an excellent job on my hair. To correct some misinformation from some of the other reviews, I must say that I did see him cut a black mans hair yesterday. It is possible that such accusations about choosing customers by skin color were fabricated by a nearby competitor.

Its a very nice and quiet environment. He gives very good haircuts for a little bit more than my average cost of a haircut. My only downfall was the clippers he used. They make a really bad sound but I still got a good haircut.

Great guy who gives a great cut. Not too chatty but gets to know his regulars. Youll probably have to wait behind at least a couple guys on the weekend.

Wasnt sure about the place because it was one guy working the shop, with so many extra seats - but, so many people were waiting and it was for a reason. He is spectacular and extremely precise, I recommend this place and suggest you visit an ATM beforehand because its cash only!

I went to the barbershop to het a haircut. I greeted the barber an sat down. The barber was cutting another patrons hair. I glance at the pricing chart to check rates. The barber said the price is $28.00 so you may want to go somewhere else. . I advised the barber i had the money plus a tip if needed. I then proceeded to wait an there was silience in the shop. After looking at the barber an the patrons facial expression i asked do you prefer I leave?. The barber saidYes, i only cut select peoples hair.. I gathered my belongings and left.. This man is a racist, bigot, and a disgrace to humanity...

Mohamed is great. Best shop I have been to in Petworth/Park View...Very interesting guy too. Sometimes you have to wait for a few ppl but the quality is well worth it.

$200 haircut for $18 plus tip. Best barber in the city, hands down. Fast, too. I watched him cut four people in front of me, and they all walked away looking like a million bucks.

I do not recommend this barbershop for colored people!!! The guy was rude and treated me like I was something off the street. I will not be investing in this company at ALL!

In my opinion the best mens haircut in DC, never mind the fact that prices are well below what youd pay for a similar-quality haircut elsewhere. Mohamed remembered me and what haircut I get after just two visits -- the guy is friendly, professional and remarkably consistent. Hes always playing music in the background and only uses the chair by the door, even though theres another 5 or so lining the wall down the shop. Hes the only one that works there, and while the line can get long, the wait is worth it. Mohamed only accepts cash, so make sure to hit up an ATM before you come in. He does not accept reservations, so its a first come, first served deal.
