I get my shaves done here almost weekly and I was never disappointed. The staff are friendly, the service is great and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The towel treatments are also a great touch before/after the shave and everyone is precise and professional. Great place for a shave, haircut and grooming needs. Highly recommended!
This was my first time taking my Grandpa who has Alzheimers disease. Rico was amazingly patient. His skin feels so soft an grandpa started smiling. Thank you for giving me the old grandpa back. Rico you have a permanent customer. Im eternally grateful😘😘😘
I have been coming here for cuts from Renata for five years. Not the cheapest (but you can save with the 6-pack). But they get it right. And Renata is a fantastic stylist. Their products are also good, especially their own shampoo. Look out for 2 for 1 deals in store
Clean lounges, quality products and outstanding staff. Had a really good experience and will certainly return in the future.
A first visit that left me wanting to come back. The staff led by Stephanie is wonderful. They all made sure my experience was memorable and really took care of me. Rich gave me a relaxing and well needed hot towel shave. Will try a full haircut one of these days.
I got a Master grooming haircut and a hot lather shave. Stephanie was very helpful and attentive as I walked in the door..Rich was was very professional and the most important thing my haircut came out great. The hot lather shave was very relaxing and my skin felt smooth and soft afterwards.I enjoyed the drinks while getting my haircut..great experience!
$68 men’s basic cut, how is this possible? At least tell first time customers the price. I was absolutely shocked when it was time to pay. The service is good but no special treatments. I received a 20 min haircut. The two stars is for the staff! All very friendly.
Love this place! The staff is always friendly. Kevin is a fantastic barber - only works weekends. Full service shop from cuts and shaves to massages. They also have an amazing selection of mens grooming products.
Fantastic products for men. Barbershop is a bit overpriced in my opinion, I got a haircut and beard trim and the guy gave me serious razer burn on my neck... Not what I was expecting from such a high end barber shop... Stick to using their products and pass on the service in house.
Pros: Good haircut experience. I work with one particular hair cutter and she has been great.Cons: The booking experience has something left to be desired. For one, they have online booking, but that site sucks. You need to have Silverlight installed to even use it... which is a ridiculous requirement to just book a haircut session! Booking through Chrome is almost impossible for me; I need to be on a Windows machine with Internet Explorer. It would be great if they had an iPhone app for booking, but they dont. They mixed up my appointment recently. The lady I had talked to scheduled me for 3:45, but when I called today, they had put me down 3 HOURS earlier at 12:15! Whats more upsetting is they wouldnt even believe me when I told them that the mix up was on their side (Oh sir, but the system says you booked it for 12:15). Ridiculous, and I dont need to be told what I said.
I just started wet shaving as its known. That is using a double edge razor and I found this place on Google. The products I purchased are very good but a little expensive for my budget.
Waste of time and money. I get that it is meant to feel relaxing, but it just felt like it taking far too long. A hot towel was put on my face 5 or 6 times. Again, I know it’s meant to be relaxing, but I’ve got things to do. Not to mention the repeated scrubbing, which I am not even sure what that was for. To be fair, I’m a novice and have used electric clippers to cut my own facial hair for years. What do I know?I wanted a simple clean up on my neck and trimming of my beard. My cheeks don’t fully grow out, so I asked the woman to please shave it. When she brought me the mirror I asked her again to shave it off. She said “No, it’ll grow out.” To which in responded, “No, it really won’t.” Above my jawline, my facial hair is patchy and is not a good look. She used the clippers and tried again. I dismissed the mirror and asked for my bill. The most irritating thing is the razor burn on my neck. Of course I didn’t feel it until the next day. It was very visible and itchy to the point of having to put anti-itch cream on it.I’m not saying “Don’t go there.” Just ask yourself if $66 if a fair price for razor burn and 30+ minutes of your life.
Expensive but awesome. Hot ladies run it. Its a mend grooming lounge. What did you expect?
Rich knows what hes doing. This was great. Full service hair cuts, shave, etc.I look amazing.
Ive been a client at the Grooming Lounge for over ten years. First, I have always had consistent service from the professional staff (haircut, waxing, etc.). Only once did I have an unfortunate hair experience, and that person was quickly terminated. However, I have always had an issue with the attitude, incompetence, and lackadaisical attitude of the scheduling staff. They treat you not as a client, but as an annoyance--someone that has to be dealt with. While I get that it may appeal to some folks (the idea of exclusivity), I actually dread calling the Grooming Lounge to make an appointment; its always an ordeal. I even dread checking in for appointments. For example, today, I had a confirmed appointment, but was told it was for next week (possibly the nefarious action of someone who had to deal with changing an appointment for me earlier in the week). When I complained, not only was I called out in front of everyone, but was told that since I was unhappy, I should go elsewhere. When I suggested that I would like to talk to management, I was told that, they know about you, and it wont matter for you to talk to anyone. I will take the front desk managers advice, and will be taking my business elsewhere as will my friends.I was brought up in a family business--the customer is always right, and should never leave upset--word-of-mouth is the best way to groom, and destroy, a business. As of today, at least three of my friends will be going elsewhere for service. We deserve to be treated better. Its a shame that they cant control the management of scheduling and the front desk; in my opinion, its time for a shake-up of the front-end staff. This is not only an issue in the DC location; my husband has had the same issues at Tysons...independent of my situation.
I really enjoyed myself. Had some credits from an earlier visit and decided to use them for a beard trim. Staff was very friendly, but in particular, barber LAUREN CARNOHAN was very charming and attentive to my specific requests for how I wanted to look. Definitely a consummate professional. Plan to go there again soon!
I have been here twice. I have a good size beard, and both times received an incredible trim. Once with a hot towel straight shave on my head!! This time I had Lauren and she was friendly and inviting. I felt completely welcome and will return when Lauren is free!!
Quality establishment!! Did a great job cutting my boyfriend’s hair, and gave me an ice water while I waited for him!! He loved the place and the staff. A bit on the expensive side, though.
The only reason I am giving this review 1 star is because there is no options for 0. I am highly disappointed and disgusted that one of the employees named front desk people named Chrissy put my child’s resume on blast on her twitter account making fun of her resume and slandering her just because it didn’t meet her standards of what it should look like. This is highly unprofessional disrespectful disgusting behavior and I am thoroughly in disbelief this would even be allowed by such a established company. My child is hurt and emotionally distressed now because one of their friends saw it and pointed it out to her and is totally embarrassed at the the thought of being exposed by a company in such a way. Consider this an informal complaint but I will be takin further action to get answers for this. Terrible!!!
Somehow, it always feels a bit awkward to get your hair cut by someone new. At the Grooming Lounge, Rich and Arlene we’re fun to talk to, and really made sure they gave me what I want. I wouldn’t call it a value, but even with the price the experience, expertise, and service they deliver is worth it. Will be going back again soon.
Top Flight treatment and services, and they can tailor your services to your needs. Im very fortunate to have Arlene as my styling specialist.
If you need a hair cut, ask for Greg and get it done right. Coming from NY where you could get a hair cut for 25 bucks, at first you might face sticker shock on how much it will cost. But lets face it, youre in DC and have to be at the top of your game. Greg is great, fun to sit with for an hour and knows his stuff.
Always a great experience here! Wonderful staff, nice setting, free beverages.
I always get signature foot treatment. Now that Maggie is back, I will definitely go back more often.
Expensive but they do a really good job and are very precise.
They really pamper you here. Highly recommend it.
Receptionist tried to sell me anything she got, highly annoying. Then the hairdresser, he had no idea what he was doing, I never had anyone handle a clipper so randomly, he was clumsy with the straight razor as well. I gave him clear instructions not to take much of the beard because I was letting it grow. The result, i got long hairs uncut around my ears, lines are crooked, beard is longer on one side, i got hair all over my neck... and this is supposed to be premium service? I think not... safe your money and your look and go somewhere else!
Great place. Fully booked. Get a reservation.
I have Grooming lunch brand shaving productIts work great!
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful. My boyfriend felt very special and attended to.
Best haircut my husband has ever had! 😍
Select oversea shipping, buy product, receive an email after two days saying oversea shipping is not available. 👍🏻
Did not have in stock the product that I needed, bought from Retro Shavers.
Outside of the high prices, the well dressed staff really does have a hold on what theyre trying to achieve. its all about atmosphere.... a beautiful lady greets you at the door, offers to take your coat, and asks if she can help. hummm? where did i just walk into? next thing i know, theres a drink in my hand, and a talented woman manipulating my face. i know it sounds good, trust me it is! the closest and cleanest shave ive had since i went to Jackies in New Delhi, India. courteous, kind, and even let me talk through out the whole thing. before i knew it, she was on my hair. mind you she did a great job with what i had offered her, leave the side-burns, and the rest is up to the stylist. i walked out of there feeling like a gentleman of the ye olde times. groomed and ready to find the next thing to get into, now with style!!!
Pricey but impeccable service, everything a man needs from haircuts to shaving, massages to shoe shines.
Went here with a reservation and the wait was only about 15 minutes, and while I waited I was given tea. The hair cut was first class.
Good cuts and services, good selection of products. But rather expensive.
I had high expectations for this establishment considering their large array of mens products online. However, my nail services were sub par, especially in comparison to Nickel mens spa in NYC and most other unisex spas I visited. The location is quite convenient, but the space itself is cramped and feels the opposite of relaxing. The nail techs were nice and asked many questions, however the massage was one of the worst I received and the product used (while an expensive brand) was horrible and did not absorb into my skin. The paraffin treatment was of similar quality and felt like it was purchased at a dollar store. One day later my nails looked as if they had no work at all--at a cost of over $100. I am giving a 1 rating only because they followed up via email regarding my service, however they barely get that score since no one responded to my similarly worded response. Overall, I believe the Grooming Lounge has lots of potential, but the cost of the services combined with the cheap products will lead me elsewhere in the future.
Nice mens products for our spa!
Expensive, but very good service
Great environment and friendly staff!
This place is aces. Felt like royalty here
Lets you be pampered and be a Man
Expensive but quality
$43 for a beard trim, you must be joking...
For the price -- its nothing special for a haircut. Their products however are on-point.
Great service
