I’ve gotten my hair cut twice here at Georgetown hairstyles. So far I am satisfied with the services. The People who work there, are very friendly and helpful. Vanussa is the person who usually cuts my hair. She is wonderful and very friendly. She listen to what I want, and she carefully does it. She makes sure it’s right. I do recommend this place.

Ive been going to Georgetown Hairstyling for over a year and a half and have been extremely satisfied each and every time. First the basics, the shop is clean and the staff is very nice and friendly. Ive gotten to know them and really look forward to my visits. They always listen to the style I want and cut it evenly and with care each time.They are skilled in their craft too. They do a really good job with a taper cut and blending the sides with the top.They always ensure I am satisfied each time no matter how long it takes. I often walk in and they always take me quickly too. I highly recommend if you are in or around Georgetown. Ill be going there as long as Im in the area.

Really friendly folk who run this place. Kenny, especially is willing and eager to listen patiently to your requirements and make any changes as needed. Expect to pay around $25 for a haircut. This is actually fairly cheap for the Georgetown area.

I am a freshman at the University and was hoping this would be a convenient new barbershop. Unfortunately I will not be going back. I had pretty long hair and didnt want short hair. I asked for half-an-inch off the top and a three on the sides, a pretty easy cut. They seemed to be taking their time with the sides, but then a regular walked in and started talking to the barber. The rest of the cut was painfully rushed. They ended up taking at least an inch and a half off the top, probably more like two inches. Additionally certain areas are far shorter than the rest for no good reason, making the whole cut look good. Even if I had wanted a short cut, it still wouldnt have been a good one. I now get to wait weeks to get back to the amount of hair I like. Would not recommend

I have had a lot of not so great haircuts, but this was another level. The stylist I had did *not* listen to what I asked and showed her at all. My side blend is a shelf (which I’d assume is the first skill you learn at a barbershop). I would suggest not coming here if you have medium to long hair. I have to go get it fixed somewhere else.

I highly recommend Georgetown Hairstyling. Ive been going to April for my haircuts and she pays very close attention to make sure you get the result you wanted. She is also very friendly and accomodating, which makes communicating with her very easy. Make sure to make an appointment ahead of time to avoid long waiting times.

Sat down in the waiting area and watched the stylists carefully. I was pretty happy with what I saw, and sat with April when it was my turn. I’d say my hair style is pretty easy, but I rarely ever get a perfect cut.. this was a *perfect* cut and looks absolutely fantastic!

I have come here for almost all of my haircuts for the past 15 years and have been very pleased with all but one cut. I have had cuts from all of the staff, and have always been pleased with the results. I speak to groups and so my appearance does matter. This is, however, not a place to go and be pampered, listen to soft muzak, and be fleeced for the experience. This is an old-time barber shop where the cuts are good and the price is right.

Do not get a haircut from Nguyen. Hes terrible and completely changed the hairstyle I once had, even after showing him a picture of ME with slightly shorter hair to get the idea across to him. The other ladies who work here are much better, and understand modern hairstyles far better.Nguyen will never touch my hair again.

Just got a haircut here and Im very disappointed as I was hoping to get a decent one after reading all the good reviews. It looks like it was made by an amateur and the haircut I asked for was really an easy one. Although the staff is nice I think a friend would have done the same or better. 27$ for this is way too much, even the easy finitions were not done properly.

Staff were very nice and approachable, which was a huge plus. However the person that cut my hair did not take my requests seriously either because he was incompetent or because he was careless. I grew out my hair for 1.4 years and requested the barber to not take off any more length than was necessary. (I was crowning a faded undercut)Guess what he did? Just that.It took him one second to wipe off 1.4 years of my patience and care that I gave to my hair. I was furious with the lack of skill and precision of the barber that I had encountered.I will not recommend this place to any other men that want thier hair to have a sharp and clear cut look. I would say a slight trim or a shape up is the best this establishment can do.Like I said the staff were nice and approachable, but that is the norm everywhere Ive gone to get my haircut. The babers are not skillful or precise enough here for men like me that go for a slick, clean, modern and youthful look.

Ive gotten my hair cut here for the past four years while I was doing my undergrad at Georgetown. I (and many other Georgetown students) have trusted them to cut my hair before important events and interviews, and they always seem to do a good job. For what its worth, I usually had Vanussa or Nyugen cut my hair. If you are in the Georgetown area and in need of a haircut, definitely give them a shot.EDIT: After reading through a few of the other comments, I want to be a little bit more explicit with my review.With regard to pricing, basic haircuts are $27 as of the time I am writing this. Whether or not this is cheap will depend on your perspective, but theres the number.Also, I think some people are keen to go online and post immediately when they have a bad haircut, but it can happen anywhere. In four years of going here, I only had one bad haircut two years ago when Nguyen accidentally slipped with the clippers right above my ear and accidentally took the arch above my ear about 3/4 too high. It grew back in a few weeks. It was no big deal, and every hairstylist messes up now and again. If the price is right, give them a try.

Had been going to Georgetown Hairstyling for years with no problem...I LOVE the staff and the prices, but I just received one of the worst haircuts of my life. I went in for a trim and walked out with a dramatically shorter, wildly inconsistent cut. I have to go to another barber this afternoon to get it fixed.

They take Samsung Pay and know how to use clippers. Its really a barbershop! Show up and leave shorn.

Absolutely sucked! The hairstylist, I guess April is her name, just took a trimmer to cut my hair. I didnt even get the time to tell her how short I needed them. I am not sure of the other hairstylists but this one was really bad.

Stay Away! Not a real barber. 20 dollars for a two minute cut, I asked him to clean up the back of my neck, that’s it. No straight razor, and the guy held the clipper like a novice, I was nervous, and for good reason, he ended up cutting a huge spot out of my hair. Uneven, unprofessional, 20 bucks. FML.

Went to get a hair cut at 2 pm on a Saturday.Waited 30 minutes. Average wait time.Its my turn, as I go to sit down I ask if I can go to the restroom first. She says yes and I tell her, Thank you, Ill be right backWhen I come back, probably about 1.5 minutes later, I see some one sitting down and getting there hair cut.Im sorry, I thought I was next. I say. Oh, Im sorry. She replies.I wait some more for my turn.When I finally get my hair cut, I tell the lady. I just want to cut the sides, low fade, I want the sides to come to a point and I want the back to start at a 3 and fade all the way to the skin.I show her 2 photos of me with the hair cut I want. Ive gotten my hair cut like this before.While she is trimming the side she proceeds to try and cut the top of my hair. I ask her to stop, I would just like the sides cut.She is not happy to hear that.She finishes and shows me. There is no fade in the back. The sides are too long and uneven. I dont want to make her mad because I want a nice haircut.I tell her I would like the back faded more, skin low to a clipper size 3, and I would like the sides more faded and shorter.She is not happy to hear this.She tries again, this time the back gets faded the sides get trimmed and are more even. While she is doing this she tells me it would be easier if I showed her a photo of what I wanted.I did show her a photos of what I wanted.I say nothing because I dont want her to take vengence on my hair.She shows me again. I tell her I like it more but I would like the sides a little shorter.She is visibly upset.She trims them shorter and removes my hair cut gown. She does not show me the sides. She asks me to leave and she says that other people are easier and this shouldnt take this morning long.I pay and leave.Dont get your hair cut by Vanuss. I think thats how you spell her name.

Best mens haircut youll get in DC (or elsewhere) and extremely reasonable price ($22 for a standard cut as of 2010). Ed knows everyone who walks through the door, and knows exactly how you want your hair done. Can get very busy--so Id advise calling ahead--but they are very accommodating for walk-ins. Good conversation and maybe youll spot some Gtown/DC heavyweights while youre there. 5/5
