My 5yr old son initially had shoulder length natural hair but decided to get a mohawk. Instead of sectioning and cutting the sides, he and his father were told by the baber his hair had to be sectioned off before service else were something the barbers could not do. So instead the barber shaved his whole head. I could barely look at my son with out crying after caring for his hair since birth, really had to adjust to the new look. Im a licensed cosmetologist who was trained along side barbers as well. Either they need to re-educate themselves on newer techniques or this is a social shop that doesnt care about elevating as the population is changing in the area which could mean more revenue. But this place is basic unless youre personally known.
I called in the morning to ask if they took walk-ins and they said yes. After waiting about 90 minutes (they were busy so I was being patient) and being ignored by every barber I was told they were “all booked” and that they were trying to “work me in.” I felt fairly humiliated and left promptly.
So when I walk in I sat down I got up to ask MIKE to cut me hair he sent me to RON I showed RON the picture of the hair cut I wanted and he tore my whole head up took my hair line to the middle part of my head, shave off my side burns and this is a horrible fade!! I was so mad I went to the car and wanted to cry and I did not pay him the whole time his hand kept shaking I thought maybe he was sick but if that was the case he should have ask me do I want him to proceed with the cut I should have been warned # I’m thinking of a lawsuit seriously !!!!
I have been getting my hair cut there since 1989. My barber is Mike. I have always called for an appointment. Either Mike is already waiting for me (and Im usually on time) or just finishing a client. He knows my hair and I need no instructions. The finished cut is Always perfect. I get compliments from friends and strangers alike. It is a very clean shop. Since Covid, of course, they practice the prevention rules by wiping down the chairs for each customer. I am now a woman of 73 years and all the barbers have always treated me with respect and kindness. I highly recommend A Sharper Image to all men, women and childten to have their hair professionally cut and shaped here!
Never a dull moment always a Sharp Cut! My father gets his cuts here I get mines and my son now gets his here...always on point...
Mikes been cutting my hair for better than 20 years and counting always professional good conversations all the guys are good at their work highly recommend them 👌
Best bArbershop in the city
Great place to get a haircut... definitely. I moved to Calvert County and I still drive back to Sharper Image for an amazing haircut
Worst Barbershop I have been to in my entire life. Let me start by saying that Ive been to plenty of great barber shops in my neighborhood and have never had an experience like this before. I walked in this barbershop as it was close to my neighborhood and thought to give it a try. I came in and sat down and waited for my turn. I realized these guys like to take their time so I knew I was in for a wait. In the meantime other folks started walking after me. I had told them that any one of them would be okay to cut my hair, I was just waiting for the next available person. So after everyone before me was done, they started calling folks who came after me: 1 guy, then the second guy, then the third guy, then the fourth guy, and finally a guy walked in and immediately sat in the empty chair. This has never happened to me before in any other barbershop, and so after waiting for literally and hour and half, I just walked out the barbershop. Worst customer service ever.
Best Ever
Having an appointment means absolutely nothing. If you have somewhere you need to be there is no urgency or consideration for others time. But, if you want to chop it up and talk sports then a good place to sit and mingle while you wait for a haircut
Ive been going here since 2003 never had a bad haircut or experience very talented & skillful group of guys my brothers tru family away from family, very good men nothing but love & respect 4 them all. I promise u wont find another barbershop in the DMV with 6 or more barbers that can cut the way the 6 of these guys can cut 💯💪🏿
Been getting my hair cut by Mike from the age of 15. 19 years in and I havent switched. Theres a reason. These guys are great! If you get a chance, check out the shop. Make an appointment. Theyre usually busy.
Nice and friendly environment all the Barbers can cut hair here, I will recommend this shop to all my co-workers and Friends you wont be disappointed, thank Sharper Image Barbershop, great job!
Some of the best barbers in the DMV area ..real tall
I love the way Ron cuts hair hes ALWAYS consistent!!! The cleanest barber I know. Keep up the excellent work.
Walk in service is f***ing trash but the cuts look ok. (Update) just waiting a whole hour for one of those idiots to cut my hair and left without one because theyre so busy conversing about Bs with their regulars they dont notice or care for the walk ins. I finally got Ithe attention of a barber only when he was going to get snacks after ONE cut. He called someone over who came in after me and i have been sitting for over an hour. I wouldnt spend my money there ever. F*** this place
The barbers are professional and timely. Most barbers operate with appointments but walk-ins are welcome. Nice environment!
Mike is the man. Was skeptical about cutting my hair but once he did, I never regretted it one bit. He does a great job everytime.
Best barbershop in DC. I have been cutting my hair here for over 10 years
Ive been going to this place for years and the barbers are professionals. Love the fact that they do my style of hair well.
Favorite barbershop in DC!
Great place to meet, get a great haircut & talk smack about pretty much any subject. Half of the guys in there just hang out & talk smack.
I have hair loss due to Alopecia and genetics. As soon as I removed my hat, the barber (whose chair is the last one in the back on Thursday mornings) loudly said, Whooooaaa! Despite telling him to only fade the back and sides, he continuously tried convincing me to cut more. Trust me, Trust me, he kept saying. When I mentioned I use grease on my hair, he obnoxiously said, thats probably what caused your hair to look like that! He then proceeded to say, I know a little bit about dermatology because of my studies under Dermatologist, Dr. Eliot Battle, at Cultura in Bethesda. It was a constant struggle to get my hair trimmed my way and not his way. It was truly an unpleasant and sour experience. After he realized just how unhappy I was, he offered to do it for free. I paid him $20 for the service provided despite my feelings. He is unprofessional, self-centered and insulting. He needs to be FIRED or constantly monitored so he doesnt continue to make insensitive and offensive comments that drive customers away! How many others have been at the receiving end of this jerk, but didnt take the time to complain about him?
I have been going to this Barbershop for over a decade. All the barbers are master barbers. My Barber is Jamal, but once again they are all master barbers
Very professional barbershop establishment. I wont visit anywhere else. Most barbers schedule by appointments but walkins are available.
