Ok so i love this place. Its the only place i trust to get my hair cut. The only reason i put 4 stars and not 5 is because when i get my hair shampooed its always done very painfully. However. The haircuts are always perfect.

Jessica is the absolute best! I have curly hair and have struggled to find stylist that cuts it well, but she gives me the perfect cut every time!

Owner Jessica has a such a pleasant demeanor and is a master of her craft! Would recommend to anyone in need of salon services.

Jessica is great. She does wonders with your hair. Mine was really short & she made it look beautiful. Eventually I decided to grow it out a little & the haircuts Ive gotten there made that look gracefully as opposed to just awkward stages of (growing your hair out) as a woman. Shes done many different styles with my short hair. Definitely the place to go to.

Jess is the best! I wont let just anyone touch my hair. And Jess always gives 110%. When I walk out of her salon I always feel like a million dollars!

I was very hopeful to get my hair done here. I asked for layers added to my hair and the woman gave me bangs. Unfortunately it is going to take me months to grow these out and I feel awful about myself. I went to another salon after to try to fix my hair and the stylist asked if I had done it myself. :(

THE BEST SALON IN GREATER BOSTON AREA-I have been coming here for more than a year now. I come here for my eyebrows, upperlips, nails, braids and hair. Theyre very accommodating and pretty straight forward. The best thing is that, they work it out with you for the availability and you dont have to wait too long. The prices for all their services are very genuine. Friendly staff, and lovely Jessica, the owner.P.S.- I love the music that keeps playing in the background. That lifts your spirit up while youre in the space.

This place was great, I got a pedicure and manicure. The girl did an awesome job and spent a lot of time on me, loved the mask they applied to my legs and feet! Will definitely be back! And their blowouts looked amazing! 😍

I have always had a hard time finding someone that can do my eyebrows the way I like them & she came through. I loved the way the came out & will come out again. Sylvana did a great job on my nails. I had a terrible day today and had gone to a salon to get my dark hair lightened to Jessica Rabbit red. I came out with darker hair than when I went inside. Needless to say, I was upset.Jessica over at J Lex listened to my plight with a sympathetic ear before telling me we were gonna fix it. She was completely transparent about price, what she was going to do and how long it would take. She kept her salon open for me and bleached, colored, washed, and blow dried my hair into the beautiful red I wanted. She went above and beyond and even offered me pizza when I was flagging because I had been out of my house since 12pm and hadnt eaten for hours and hours. She was friendly, chatted happily and was just so kind.My hair did not take to the bleach well in one spot and a huge chunk of it broke off, leaving a section of my mid-back length hair up to my chin. Jessica rolled with the punches and cut me some angled layers and bangs to fix what happened and I left feeling like I got the star treatment. 100% recommend the Hell out of this place. Go here if you want friendly, to the point service from a woman who knows what she is doing. They not only offer hair but waxing, make up, and nails. You can go in and come out a new woman in every facet. Cant wait to go back!Thank you so much, Jessica and the rest of the staff at J. Lex! You saved my hair.

The owner is friendly, but it feels like if you are not Spanish, then you are treated like a second customer. I read reviews about her waxing and tint, and was excited to go. When I got there she did them amazing and sent me into the dryer to conditioner my hair. I forgot and put the towel on my face to stop the heat. When I asked her to help me fix them. She offered someone else. Since she had another customer, well as am not a prosffesional at this, but I believe everyone has a different hand, clearly the second person didnt do a great job and I tried to fix them myself, the owner never once acknowledged my unhappiness but just kept on talking in Spanish to the people in the shop. I was supposed to get my hair braided and I just stopped at the wash. And left. Even after I decided not to continue with the braiding, you would think as an owner. And this was my first time she would make sure I was satisfied, she just kept on talking to other people, told her reception my balance and that was the end. While the owner did my eyebrow threading with the tint, well, I wouldnt go back for the lack of customer service! This is not what a woman wants to experience especially if they are paying!Keep in mind this was a new experience, she didnt even give me take care instructions. Other than that the owner is very friendly! When you get her attention.

Today was my first time here and I loved it! Staff are extremely friendly and professional. I got a trim and argan oil hair treatment and my hair feels so soft. Jessica threaded my eyebrows and they look perfect... I’m not going anywhere else for my eyebrows now!

Im a white girl and have gotten 4 weaves before and the stylists who did it would braid me too tight and I ended up getting a horrible tension rash and my scalp would break into red hives and itch excruciatingly. Jessica at JLEX salon changed my life forever. She braided me painlessly and gave me the flattest and most comfortable install I have ever felt in my life. Also, skill aside, she is the sweetest most genuine stylist I have ever had in my LIFE. She really cares and just has a good heart. So much love for JLex!

I had lash extensions done. Not only do they look and feel like a million bucks the lady was so nice professional I felt so comfortable!!! She explained everything and was so nice!!!! Highly recommend!!!

Worst salon I’ve ever gone too!! It was a Sunday I went in to retouch my hair the lady who did my hair to my thinking she didn’t no what she was doing she burnt my scalp am still nursing the wounds I got from this place as my hair did not even get ready.I would have sued them for this you really need to get professionals for retouching women hair because we all know the staff used (chemicals are very strong)I will never go back to this place worst salon I’ve ever been too!!!!

I went with my daughter to get her hair done, botex treatment. I asked Jessica, hair dresser, several times if this treatment going to straighten my daughters hair and she reassured me several times that this was the best treatment for my daughters hair. We spent hours there. After 3 days, as she recommended, my daughter washed her hair and her hair was horrible. So I called Jessica immediately to book an appointment. When I went again, she was 2 hours late. She refused to redo my daughters hair and she was very rude. She told me that the credit card machine wont allow her to refund my payment and I should dispute the transaction. I did and today I got a response from my bank saying that her response was she did the service, I was very happy and came back after a while and I refused to redo my daughters hair when she offered so.ALL OF THESES ARE LIES. They are unprofessional and very RUDE!!!!!!!! Its a ripe off!! Dont go there

The salon had poor ingredients. My hair and my dress and my reception was POOR. It almost spoiled all of my clothes. One day after this poor service which was reported to her, it came and almost banged at me like a unabomber and started screaming and yelling in front of everybody as I was walking on the road not even near this salon. This radical extremist has to be reported to the Police Department. Any such irradical behavior of tbis extremist will be taken seriously under the Law if imprisonment and tbis salon will not be held to be functioning from this point forward. This salon will remain CLOSED.

So glad I found this spot in Waltham. Its a full service salon, nails, eyebrows wax and thread, facial, relaxer, color, you name it. Black owned, and serves everyone! Excellent service and professionalisms! Jessica knows her craft and loves putting a smile on her clients faces. I highly recommend!

I have come here before and people have done a really good job. But today I had a very bad experience. The person who did my lip waxing, left a big scar on my upper lip. Never coming back again.

First time I came here was for a Groupon for a gel manicure and pedicure... it was great, lots of colors to choose from, but the nail tech was very quiet and so was the salon, which I don’t necessarily mind. I made an appointment again two days ago for a gel manicure for today, I showed up 5 minutes early and was told to sit down and wait. The nail tech who told me to wait was in the middle of a pedicure, and there was nobody else in the salon who worked there besides an older lady (presumably another nail tech) sitting at her station talking on her phone. After 20 minutes of waiting, I asked the nail tech who was doing the pedi how much longer it would be... she proceeded to tell me that the nail tech who was supposed to do my nails just didn’t show up and that she had no idea. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, and waited another 10 minutes before I called another salon and left. Really bad business, super unprofessional of the nail tech not to show up and the other nail tech to throw her under the bus and do absolutely nothing to try and remedy the situation. I won’t be going back.

I love the vibe here: laid-back, professional, affordable and the owner delegates tasks while accommodating a brisk crowd. 1/2 the price of a Back Bay haircut without sacrificing quality.

Like the salon and it’s services but timing is always an issue. Hair appointment cancelled 45 mins before scheduled time. Extremely disappointed since it’s impossible to find a replacement with such short notice.
