I currently live in the Pembroke Town Center Apartments.The pros: The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The apartment is a decent size and price for a one bedroom in VA Beach and I like the renovated style. The maintenance crew does a great job with making sure that the area is clean. I love how Pembroke makes sure that the landscaping is taken care of which often looks very neat and presentable. I like the pool and workout room. The employees at the rental office are very nice and helpful. Majority of the issues that I have had, has been solved in a reasonable amount of time.The cons: Residence do not have assigned parking so I am lucky if I get a parking spot in the evening. My apartment has roaches. My apartment has been sprayed multiple times so I do not see the smaller ones. But I still see the HUGE cockroaches/water bugs. Who wants to relax in their room with a cockroach coming out of the closet, crawling on the wall, on the floor, etc.?? There is definitely a whole or crack or something in my room. Something is not sealed right for these large bugs to come in. But I guess this is something that Pembroke Town Center cannot fix.If it wasnt for the bugs, I would stay...But as of right now, I am ready to leave ASAP.

The office staff and maintenance technicians at Pembroke have been wonderful since I moved in last year. Any issue I’ve had has been resolved by Jenny, the manager. The office staff is always friendly and quick to help me. I really appreciate the excellent customer service from the entire staff!

Even though I didn’t rent the apartment (The wife wanted to be closer to Chesapeake, she likes horses) I had a great experience with the office staff. The blondish haired girl in the office I think her name was either Jenny or Stephanie, was very knowledgeable. She made us feel very welcomed which was refreshing after moving here from Wyoming. I’ve always heard people on the East Coast were rude but not her! She made our apt shopping experience top notch! Thanks again!!!

I have been a tenant for 4 years and have had a wonderful experience!the office and maintenance staff are always nice and willing to help with any of my needs. Jennifer the complex manager is always wonderful to talk to and takes time to hear any of my concerns like I am the only tenant she has!The grounds and pool area are always clean and well maintained. I have animals and they are always happy and enjoy taking walks through the complex. My apartment is close to town center and all the shops target, Walmart, and Pembroke mall are a easy walk away! If you are considering apartment life and want to live near Town Center this is your place!!

Pembroke apartments have been great thus far. Just moved here from another state, and Annalisa made the process so much smoother by going above and beyond to make sure I got settled in okay. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to make a change in their living situation.

I came with a friend to tour the location. The staff was very pleasant especially Jenny.

Got to see the amenities they offer and the property was beautiful. My visit with Annalisa was very enjoyable and I would definitely recommend her to my friends and family in the future. Unfortunately, they had no apartments available and I see why.

I have lived at Pembroke Town Apartments since September and I love it. It is safe and clean. I have a 3 year old son and he loves to use the playground. I would reccomend this apartment complex to anyone. Jenny Wheaton is the property manager and she was great to work with when I was moving in. She is very helpful and accommodating.Id also like to say maintenance is excellent. My AC stopped working. I called maintenance and within 30 minutes they fixed the problem at 8pm at night.

I have live here twice and both experiences are great. Staff is wonderful, efficient and friendly and location is perfect. I would recommend to my friends a wonderful family environment.

I came from a wonderful area i stayed at Wesleyan courts for 4 years never had any problems but for the amount i was paying i felt we needed at least a pool or fitness center so my lease was up we found Pembroke area it was around same price we was paying and also came with a pool and fitness center so we decided to move in last week my first night there i seen 10 roaches in my kitchen and been seeing them ever since i came into a broken oven i haven’t cooked since i moved in this is by far the worst experience i ever had with a apartment ❗️❗️

I have lived at Pembroke Apts at Town Center for 2 years. I want to first thank the staff for being so wonderful and helping. I never had an issue with the property at all. If I every had an issue they where there to fix it right away. Amazing property

Pembroke Town Center Apartment Homes are the best in this area. The staff here is the greatest, very patient, very knowledgeable and they do tried there best to accommodate everyone who lives here and they keep the place looking good on the outside very clean at all times. I absolutely love living here. We are just minutes from the Pembroke mall, Target store, Schools, Restaurants, Columbus movie theater, Bars Nearby. your Favorite grocery stores just a walk away from your Front door. Little Creek Navy Base, Highway, and You cant beat this price for its location. Come and see for yourself; I did now I call them my home.

Pembroke apartments have positives and negatives... Firstly, pembroke maintains friendly staff. Additionally, they have a good playground area for kids to play and enjoy. However, there are many apartments that had problems with roaches... The maintenance used to come and spray some stuff in the house, but that didn’t fix the problem.... Furthermore, we also have been struggling due to roaches in the apartment for over 2 years.... In conclusion, pembroke can have advantages and disadvantages.

My boyfriend and I were looking to rent our first apartment together and the leasing consultant, Lisa, was extremely helpful! She was able to break down the price for us and give us a tour of one of the apartments. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something affordable and in a good location.

Awesome place to live!!!... Staff are always friendly and professional! There is a pool, a brand new GYM, and a playground on site which provides great entertainment for my family. The apartment complex is well-maintained, and located in the heart of downtown Va Beach. The staff host fun events for the residents! My family and I are looking forward to the upcoming pool party! Just simply a great place to call home. Living here you are close to everything you need, along with easy access to interstate. Jenny and Heather have both been helpful and pleasant to deal with throughout my time here. In two years Ive approached them about three issues (not related to the complex/facility itself) and theyve helped accommodate each time. Maintenance has been quick to respond to calls, the rent is reasonable, and the complex puts you in a convenient location.

I have lived here for the last 9 months and I have not enjoyed my time here due to my neighbors that moved in down stairs from me 6 months ago that continue to smoke POT almost everyday!! I have called the apartment security to get this documented as well as the police! Management will do nothing because they haven’t seen them in person even tho they have documentation stating it has been smelled coming from downstairs! I have a special needs daughter who should not be living in these conditions!! Even the lady who works In the office came last Sat and smelled it! My fiancé, neighbors, and myself have seen them and nothing has been done! Management says it’s not her decision but it’s her boss therefore due to me sitting here yet another Sat morning smelling this I would not recommend living here because this company does not help there employees take care of there renters!!! We have renters rights and it doesn’t matter here!! This makes me sad they are doing nothing to fix this problem so I can enjoy living my life and having a enjoyable weekend!!! The ladies here are awesome but I need something to be done other wise this may need to become a legal issue. Again do not rent here you never know what may Happen that cooperate won’t help you with! I think they only care about money not protecting there renters and there families!!

My husband and I just moved here. We love it. They are very kind and always have answers to my questions. Ms Lisa (I believe that’s her name) helped us with the whole process but the staff overall are very kind and knowledgeable.

Id like to give the front office especially Ms.jenny wheaton for taking care of my lease issue...she is very kindhearted and knowledgeable with rental agreements. This place is such a great place to live. All my neighbors were great, I loved that I could have my pet living with me and it was not expensive. I also loved the pool. Maintenance took care of my issues in a timely manner. As long as you follow up with the leasing office, you will never have delays on any works orders. The ladies in the leasing office were very nice and helpful, which that is always a plus for when you have issues and questions. Town center is walking distance and that was very convenient for me. Pembroke mall is also walking distance, which I loved. I would recommend this aparments to any of my friends and family, even friends and family with kids. It’s a friendly, low crime community. I truly enjoy my stay here. :-)

Update 14 June 2015 1608 hours. Today I took my daughter back to Pembroke to see what would happen if she reapplied for an apartment. Well today is better than the last. It only took us one hour to process her application and approved for a one bed room apartment. The manager of the place is the one who help us. she gave us everything we need to have to get my daughter move in to an apartment. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. This time the process was smooth and no stress. I give this place a 4 star for customer service and for making my daughters first apartment exciting. thank youold post removed

I have been living at Pembroke Town Center Apartments for over 3 years now. I have nothing but good things to say. The Staff is professional, courteous and prompt. I always know where and when I can find them. The maintenance staff is speedy and friendly. They always have someone on call and they come out immediately if you have a problem. A decent amount of the employees live here also, so, they take pride in their work. The grounds are always very well kept and maintained. I recommend it!

I live in an updated apartment and it’s beautiful, small and cozy however I’ve lived here for only two months and have seen some many bugs throughout the apartment (I’ve called the leasing office and they said “never heard of bugs in that building but pest control comes by every Tuesday” however Ive only seen pest control that one time I called. At this point I expect bugs/water bugs to be in my bathroom all the time to the point I turn on the bathroom light before I step foot in there. I’ve definitely thought about breaking my lease because of these bugs and it’ll cost about 4 months worth of rent. The apartments are truly overpriced for the amount of space you get and having to deal with bugs. My neighbor told me she’s seen a homeless man sleeping downstairs in the lobby area a few times and she’s asked him to leave every time - you’d think there would be a security pass to get into the buildings but nope they’re open to the public. Gym is super small for the amount of apartments here and some equipment in there doesn’t even work properly. My apartment also has cracks in the walls. I was excited about moving here initially but honestly now I’m regretting it.

Since my family and I have moved in to Pembroke Town Center Apartments we have had a great experience. The ladies in the leasing office have been absolutely wonderful and so has the maintenance staff. We love our new home!

Been living here since April 5th, my Wife and I are enjoying ourselves here. Close to where I work which is either a 2 minute drive, or a 10 minute walk! LOL!The only thing is that a lot of people do not pick up their trash off of the sidewalks around here. The maintenance people have a lot to do here without having to clean up after someone leaves their Trash on the ground.The Women that work in the Rental Office are wonderful, and will help you with everything that they can. The Rent is reasonable, and everything is close by. You may want to check it out to see if this is the place for you.

Quiet community, in a nice neighborhood. I love the proximity to everything. Management takes great care in their tenants, especially in dire situations. Nobody bothers anyone else, and Maintenance repairs and/or replaces things in a timely manner.

Lisa in the office was amazing and helpful! Apartments have lots of storage and closet space and are in a great location. Ultimately though, the kitchen is dysfunctionally small and doesnt have a dishwasher.

The staff at this complex are top notch. Any issue that ever arises, they put 100% effort into fixing it as soon as possible. Any issue I have ever had with maintenece was fixed that day. They have made living here an enjoyable experience, and I would absolutely recommend Pembroke Town Center Apartments to any one of my friends.

The apartments are nice, as are the staff in the front office and maintenance. The management itself however has been unresponsive, inflexible, and lacking in customer service. Wouldve been 5 stars aside from the consistently difficult time whenever management is involved.

I leave there 2 years they never sent me email for Bill. After 9month they told me you have to pay 600 $ I always pay rent in time I work part time so its to much for me I told him why 600 $ in one time they said you have to pay its know because this bill i m poor i pay every month fee 90$ we have insect cockroach infection over there. Just moved in here in August 2015 and so far its been good for the most part. Its my first apt so I was really worried. The area is safe, clean, and my fav: NO BUGS! The apartments are spacious and it is well insulated so you dont hear noise from next door. Anytime you have a maintenance issue they come fix it within the week and overall the ladies in the office are nice. The only reason I give is 4 stars is because they do advertise to have a gym but the keys given to residents DONT WORK. Sometimes they leave the doors unlocked so residents can get in sometimes they dont. Theres no actual schedule of when its open so its hard to create a work out schedule because you dont actually know if it will be accessible. They have been saying the keys would be fixed soon since I moved in in August so idk. Ive tried emailing the office about it twice (I work when they are open) and never got a response which sucks. So I wouldnt let the aspect of having a gym be the reason you move in because its really not accessible. BUT aside from the gym thing I love it here.

I am a current resident and I used to love it here the location is Primo and the neighborhood is safe my kids go off and ride bikes go to the pool, walk to the store and I never feel worried, thr ladies in the office are sweet and very nice but the communication between them and me have be lacks these last few years.. I have my share of problems that comes with apartment living and they have fixed them to the best of their abilities. To defend them it is a large complex and it is hard to keep tabs on every one but I also work in housing for an 865 unit property so I know it can be done.. .Maybe higher a resident relations manager to handle tenant complaints.. Most of my issues are a result of my neighbors but I address them myself ( not everyone is as confrontational as I am) so in the future being more communicative and attending to resident issue will bring this placr back to life.. O i find fineing people who allow there kids to mess up the hallways or piss in the halls acts as a good deterent or filing a 21/30 always works.

The bathroom sink was stuck and we told them to go and help us but we waited forever and they still did not come and help. For the washer and drier machines we did not use it but they did not care and still charged us. We also asked them to get it out and for two weeks they still did not take it out!!!!!

I lived her on 2 seperate occasions. The apartments are very spacious and afforable. There is new managment and they are exceptional! Lisa was very welcoming and knowledgeable and helped me with all my needs. Maintenance has the same employees still working here from when I lived here last, which is amazing and says alot about a company. Theyve always been very responsive and always get the job done! I would recommend this place to family and friends.

This place is roach infested. The office attempted to resolve the problem. Through my own investigation I heard from neighbors they have problems in various buildings. The problem continued and I opted to move out. The location and price is awesome however being comfortable in my home was more important. I would discourage anyone who is looking to move here to keep looking unless you dont mind living with bugs. No assigned parking people walking through buildings as pass ways and dog poop everywhere. The hallway is dirty nothing like the display they show you.

I am just going to stick to the facts with this review and hope people find it beneficial when making a decision.***I signed a lease to start renting in mid-May on a first-floor apartment. I specifically stated that I couldnt move in until the end of the month but didnt mind starting to pay rent early because I wanted a lower-level apartment AND was offered $500 off the first months rent. On the day of my rent starting the apartment complex called me in confusion about why I wasnt there. They explained that they couldnt hold the apartment for me even though I agreed to pay for it - I had to move in that day even though I already signed paperwork and agreed on a specific apartment, paid the deposit, etc. I was moved to a second-floor apartment at the end of the month. I confirmed that I would still get $500 off my first months rent and was told yes. Of course this didnt reflect in the system and I had to remind them.***When I moved into the apartment on day 1 the AC was broken, there was a dead cockroach in the middle of the kitchen, and some of the outlets didnt work. They clearly did not do a walk-through of the unit to make sure it was ready for a new tenant.***I requested an in-unit washer/dryer but was told they would not have one for a month. There are washer/dryer units on-site so I didnt mind at first. However when I went to do laundry for the first time I discovered most of the washers are broken with pools of water at the bottom of them...with a bunch of dead flies.***When I finally received the washer/dryer in my unit it broke in two weeks and needed a replacement. They attempted to repair it and it broke again the next week***After a rainfall there were watermarks on the ceiling. I informed the maintenance team. The person who was repairing and painting the ceiling did not properly shield my couch and got paint all over it. This is a large sectional couch that originally cost me 2k. The apartment complex offered me $75 for the damage and would not budge on this.***Although these apartments are very close to the Town Center they are not in the Town Center and it is not a great neighborhood. My Jeep was broken into twice - I had my iphone charger stolen twice and also my insurance/registration info. The police were routinely there on weekends at night because of neighbors a few buildings down. The 7-Eleven that is across the street was robbed at gun-point.This is a one-star review so I do want to put something positive in here. There are plenty of nicer apartment complexes in the area and at a better price. I highly suggest everyone do their research.

Great little community,great staff

I was a resident at this complex for 16 years I recently moved out on July 31, 2017. The apartments are roach infested, noisy neighbors, no parking space for residents( had a car accident last year), they changed the carpet once out of the 16 years I was there. My wife and I were in and out the office arguing about noisy neighbors in fact cops are in and out of the complex, it is not a safe neighborhood for children, people smoke marijuana in the buildings. When I first moved in I put down a 200 dollar deposit, when I moved out they refunded me 69.56, they charged me 26.06 for utilities and I put down a check in June, when I went back today they charged me 26.06 again. Then the final utility bill was 39.38 I asked why and Tori the manager had no justified answer for my question, she is a liar . Her answer was it was from I first moved in, If that was the case why didnt I get a bill when I lived there? When I first moved in utilities were free. I will attach photos of how I left the apartment, I left it cleaner than how I got it, and they wanted to charge me 65.00 for carpet cleaning, like any other complex why wouldnt they change the carpet for new PAYING tenants. I do not recommend living here, the management is horrible and do not know how to handle real life situations. Tori even pays tenants to take down their bad reviews, does that sound like a manager to you ? If there was 0 stars I wouldve put it down.

Still 2 month in my lease. After I posted reviews in google they called me and they said to me sorry just delete it and we will fix problem. 6 month ago. They send me text message they said I have to pay fee because rent wasn’t paid in time. I did it before 1 off the month I had to take day off for I can fix problem. After that they charge. Fee I had to take other day off for I can fix problem. Now still last month. They ask me to pay fee 25$ because my house insurance ending. This month. For this guy you will be cash machine. And they don’t care if you will have problem off insect. Or problem off maintenance. Also we have construction they begin at 6 am even Saturday. So insect. Bad maintance service. Bad customer service. And rent expensive. I had the pay 1169 $ + community charge between 25 to 60$. For washing dry 35$. For internet you can have olny Cox. Service. If they ask you to give him 600$ deposit you have to ask for prouver if not you will loose your money byby. Don’t take appartement. Front off new construction if you want sleep. Don’t take first floor insect. One day one big cockroach was in my face I was sleeping one day also my friend had problem Don’t rent her please Only if you like cockroach and you like. To wake up at 6 costurction even Saturday or to pay. For every thing one day I put my bike in my balcony they sent me notice I had 24h to take it or I will pay feee it normal but all my neighbor they have staff in balcony why they send that only to me maybe because I’m not American. !???? After 4 years I have enough. To ansulted. Like that. That why I will leave this complex. Good luck for you if you want move in

As soon as you walk into the welcome center, dont expect a warm greeting. The staff was unfriendly and not helpful at all. What seemed like a staff member helping some other customers, turned out to be her sitting around with her friends. After waiting twenty minutes, and listening to them converse we left.

I recently made a transfer because I already had a year living here, in my first apartment they never fixed a noise that my air conditioner had and in the end I got tired of talking about it, now I renew my contract for another year and when we move to our new apartment the kitchen especially was horribly dirty, the cabinets were with a lot of oil and dirt blacks, the fans were dirty my bathroom was not clean, and on top of it I talk to the manager about this I show her pictures, they sent someone to clean but that was not done and everything still the same, at the end I had to do it myself, very disappointed.

Bad management, will offer you an apartment, take the security deposit, then try too give you another one, iff you disagree you loose your deposit,
