Love it here!! I am someone who read these reviews, and noticed a lot of people were just being spiteful because they didnt get their way! This place is fantastic. Moving in was super easy, office staff couldnt have been any nicer and supportive. Our apartment looked beautiful on the day we moved in and it was exact to the floor plan we were promised. I have had minimal problems unrelated to the apartment - they had someone here literally within minutes of me calling each time. The maintenance crew is just awesome and fun people to interact with. Super happy to be living here!!
We have lived here for 6.5 years and have had a wonderful experience! Just today, I called in a work order for some light bulbs that were out. 15 minutes Dale was at my door and replaced the bulbs. Not only that but he also voluntarily replaced the other lights in both of my bathrooms so they were the bright bulbs. As if all of that wasnt enough, he INSISTED on taking my trash out with him when he left the apartment. I do not think he could have possibly gone any further above and beyond. Dale (and everyone else in maintenance/housekeeping/the office) THANK YOU so much for everything you do!!
I left a post about noise complaints. And Donna handle it very quickly . I was not able to delete the original post so I rewrote it
To be honest. This apartment is not worth what we are paying. Since we have moved here in May, we have seen so many water bugs, even after they sent someone to spray. We never had a water bug problem in our old place. And the parking issue is beyond me. We get one spot even with a two bedroom and they don’t require visitors pass, so if you come home late, you either risk parking on the other side (which is dangerous walking at night by yourself) or not getting a parking spot at all. Some residents from the next apartment complex even parks in our visitors spot. Then they allow companies to park in your spot and when you complain. Donna answer is we paid them over $1000, well we pay y’all over $1,000. Donna is very rude anytime you speak with her. To be a property manager, she does not treat residents well. The only reason I gave them two starts is because the maintenance guy is very nice and Stephanie as well.
I have lived here for almost a year .My experience at Chartwell has been nothing less than amazing .They respond quickly to any and all problems or concerns. They are very professional, And do any and everything to make the living experience here flawless .I love my apartment .I do have a couple complaints, which I guess management can’t control . 1. I have a loud and annoying neighbor that moved in after me, he yells in his living room constantly and has no respect for other tenants . 2.The upgraded hallway lights which have been added for “extra security” attract tons of bugs that get in your apartment at night when you open your door .Aside of my minor complaints as a tenant . I would definitely recommend this apartments complex to anyone !
Ive been here for almost a year and compared to previous apartments I really enjoy living here. The maintenance team is awesome and always kind and polite. Dale (I think he goes by lydale) was great and quick to resolve my service request. The only thing I dont like so far is the parking (each resident gets 1 space and I have 2 cars) and the thin walls. But that seems to be common.
I enjoyed my stay at Chartwell Apartments, and only moved because we bought a house. Donna and Stephanie, the ladies in the office, were great! They were always helpful, pleasant and know their residents. Maintenance was always on time and my requests were always handled within 24 hours. The negatives would be the parking wasnt the greatest, the walls are thin and the stairs creak, but that is just part of apartment living.
I enjoyed my stay at Chartwell Apartments. Form the beginning, Donna and Stephanie was nothing but helpful. The apartment had plenty of room and we enjoyed the amenities. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and affordable home.
Great place to settle in! Ive been here since October 2014 and have never had any issues. The ladies in the rental office have contagious personality and go above and beyond to make your living experience unforgettably amazing. Maintenance is punctual, thorough and friendly. Easy to build relationships with everyone, neighbors included. Kid-friendly, extremely spacious apartments in a very sought after and convenient area of the city. Ive lived in both a 3rd floor 2 bedroom and a 1st floor 1 bedroom currently. The transition was smooth sailing and worked perfectly with my hectic schedule. Whether youre looking for a first place or somewhere to grow, I highly recommend Chartwell.
I was a resident at Chartwell Apts. for 7 years and my stay was pleasant, peaceful and friendly. I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment and it is very spacious, plenty of room. My favorite thing is your own private front porch. The office managers Ms. Donna and Ms. Stephanie are friendly, pleasant and professional. If you looking for a nice place to live chose CHARTWELL APARTMENTS.
Ive been here for 6 months so far and this is by far the best apartment experience I have ever had. 2 bed 1.5 bath renovated looks so nice and the staff is really polite and helpful. There is plenty of space and this community is quiet. The loudest thing I have heard is a dog outside bark at the wind. Literally. I cannot hear my upstairs or downstairs neighbors. In fact I have never heard them. It is very worth living here for everything I have listed and the location being so close to Greenbrier and both highways. Best experience ever.
I have stayed here only for one mont it was good. Very quiet and nice place with a amazing lake :)
Chartwell Apartments without a doubt is a step above and beyond the rest of its many local and regional apartment community competitors. The office staff is very polite and forth going in making sure my stay at Chartwell Apartments was more than just average. Upon move-in the apartment was cleaned to perfection, almost as if no one ever even lived in the apartment prior to move-in. Everything worked and was in proper order upon move-in which greatly satisfied myself and my family greatly. The grounds looked amazing all the time. Grass kept cut, floral kept up to par, almost like living in a resort style apartment community. Both the maintenance technician and maintenance supervisor is very well groomed, well spoken and knowledgeable in my concerns when service request are put in, and they are handled in a well-above excellent timely fashion, Chartwell Apartments is without a doubt an apartment community everyone should want to call home!
I would like to first and foremost state that individuals who make comments on these websites have to jump through a couple of hoops before they leave a comment. Therefore, it is my personal opinion, especially after living here for a few months, that individuals should read and give credit to those that actually take the time out to write reviews.I moved into Chartwell Apartments (August 2012), initially after signing the lease I was informed that there are no dumpsters and the garbage is to be kept on the patio or balcony until Tuesdays or Fridays as when the garbage is picked up by a near by tree. However in the mean time, if you want to enjoy your balcony or patio you must do so sharing with with your daily garbage, and the dumpster that is there is for the use of the complex employees.I opted to rent a washer/dryer and it took two weeks to get the dryer working, and this was after repeated calling the rental office and the individual company who leases the washer/dryers to the complex as this is a contracted situation and not from Chartwell Apartments. They do not address any needs of tenants with any type of swiftness, and it is almost as if once you sign your lease the one stops to matter. I have have issues with a neighbor banging on the walls repeatedly, and instead of addressing the issue, they ignored the issue, assuming it will go away. However, when the issue became overly threatening between myself and the neighbor, a formal letter was written and when the leasing agent was informed that Lawson Companies, their parent company was involved or at least supplied a copy of the correspondence, they began to attempt to rectify the situation. As a military spouse, I would strongly suggest other places to live in the area, not here. I am attempting to seek legal action to determine due to their lack of attention given this matter. If you can find another place to live, I would strongly suggest doing so. I hope this review was helpful.
Ive lived here in Chartwell apts for about 5 months now and Ive had a great experience so far. The lovely Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Donna in the office are welcoming and friendly and maintenance always comes in a timely manner to fulfill request. I love my apartment and have no complaints!!
Maintenance is on point. Dale & Steve are very attentive and timely.
If i could put half star i would. If you would like to be treated fairly and with respect do not look here. Some regular ole white lady who thinks she is above others for working in the leasing office is very rude. I was sent by my company to work for her pool and it was raining. She made me stand outside in the rain. Then called the police when my dad asked her if she was a racist 😂. She also hung up on my mom who is a manager at a medical physicians office, all my mom did was ask for her name. She said you can find out yourself, then hung up. Not professional at alll. Please dont waste your money here with this disgusting lady.
Chartwell apartments is an amazing place to live. The grounds are kept exceptionaly clean and groomed. The office managers go above and beyond to insure that their residents feel welcomed and at home. They are extremely pet friendly knowing the pets by name and keep treats near by for them. They are accommodating of any and all needs and if its something they can handle consider it handled I couldnt pick a better place to live!!
I just received a notice on the door stating that my bicycle is not allowed on the balcony, mind you after its been there for the past 2 years - this is the last straw for me.First lets start with the bugsss (multiple s’s for multiple bugs). So on our every first day at the apartment - I could here the neighbors discussing how they hate the amount of bugs they see everyday left and right. Not even a week later it all began. Everyday you wake up there is a bug - in the kitchen, shower, crawling on the walls. Its disgusting. When I tell you I don’t even feel comfortable and I never walk around the house with out socks and shoes because of fear that I might see a bug. There are some nights where if I have to use the restroom I would rather just hold it because I don’t even feel like killing a bug at that moment. There is bug spray in every room because you have to be prepared. And if apartment community sprays - Lord don’t let them spray because it makes it 10x worst. I just remembered this, don’t even think about opening the patio door because the water bugs will literally just walk in as if it is their home too.Next I’ll go on to the paper thin walls. I’ll say it again PAPER thin. I already said I heard the neighbors conversation about the bugs - mind you I was watching TV in the living room minding my business and I heard all of that. But I’ll tell an experience. The neighbors water heater started to leak - when I tell you that water went from the ceiling to the carpet it was crazy. The walls were soaking wet for the longest. Then they started to peel. I would describe it as like a banana - like if you touched the wall and tug at it a little you would eventually be holding it. But you know what, it probably wasn’t the wall - its the 10 thousand layers of paint they use to cover up problems. And also there is a spot in our hallway that was not affected by the water but over time its just been cracking - I guess from the people walking on top of us. And the maintenance will come and patch it and paint it and it will happen again. (But I will add photo for visual representation)Everything about the apartment is just old and run down. They need to gut everything and actually fix the problems instead of covering everything up.I feel sorry for anyone else that moves here - But I did warn you!!!I am counting down my days for leaving this raggedy place!!!!
Today, my minor child had a completely unacceptable experience. As a parent, I simply called to file a formal complaint and was hung up on twice by Donna who admitted she is the sites property manager. I called twice (using two different numbers as my goal was not to be confrontational). I spoke to her both times and both times she hung up. I had no idea who she was initially but was quickly informed that not only was she the manager, she (by her own admission) hung up the first time because she wasnt going to listen to someone complaining about her. Additionally, she informed me that she would not provide assistance in getting the regional managers contact information and that I could and I quote figure that out on my own. I am leaving a negative review in hopes that the regional manager will see this and reach out via email. THIS IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE GIVEN TO SOMEONE WHO COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY BEEN A FUTURE RESIDENT.
I have just recently moved to Chartwell. I will start off with saying the staff has been really great. The two ladies Donna and Stephanie are really nice and the one maintnence man I met was really nice. BUT the apartments itself are awful. I have been finding bugs left and right. Even after they sprayed. I have even went out and purchased bug stuff myself and put it around the house. These things just wont go away. Its disgusting and I dont even feel comfortable being home. Also, the walls are paper thin, I can hear EVERYTHING my neighbors say and do. I have been woken up several times from hearing the neighbors talking, fighting, having sex...etc. I wouldnt of moved here if I knew it was going to be like this.
I agree with my grandson TheRad Kid12
People leave DODO everywhere and theres always a leak they recently made me and my grandma move for no reason 😡
