MSCO sent out Rick and he was a great technician! He was very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, friendly and considerate of our home and needs. He provided feedback and useful information regarding the system, and thoroughly checked our unit to ensure it was working properly. Rick spend a good amount of time in the attic doing the diagnostics and assessment of the unit, ducts and filters, as well as cleaning the fan unit outside and checking the mechanical components. All in all, very satisfied with the maintenance service and reassuring that they will come back to check it periodically to ensure everything is running as it should! MSCO is the way to go for the quality and the price!
I have been with MSCO for 22 years. They are a professionally run, total quality organization. I subscribe to their quality semi-annual platinum maintenance program. Rick has been our preferred technician has long as I can remember. Talk about a pro! He knows our home and just finished another very thorough preventive maintenance visit. MSCO & Rick keeps us running comfortably.
Our old system was on its last leg. We already knew through family who used this company that they were professional and did quality work. Robert set us up and gave us all the options, never once trying to oversell us on something we didn’t need. We had a couple of the nicest guys I’ve met do the install, Tom and Eric. They made sure we still had air even during mid installation because we work from home. They did an excellent job with installation. There was one day we needed window units, and we discovered we would probably need another. Robert went out of his way to find us another rolling unit and dropped it off himself at 7pm at night. This is the best experience I have had with service in my adult life.
My wife and I came home late, around 8:30, on a Saturday evening to find that our home registered a temperature of 85 degrees. The temperature outside was still in the 80s. I called MSCO and got their emergency service and mentioned our problem. She said that she would contact a service manager. Rick called back within minutes. He worked with me for a few minutes to determine the severity of the problem and plan a resolution. Because it was late, we decided (at my request) that he would send a mechanic to my house at noon the next day. My wife and I have a separate mini-split ac in another room. The mechanic, Tommy, stopped by promptly at noon and was able to repair the system. Pam and I want to acknowledge Tommy for the work he had to do under extreme circumstances. Our home was still registering 85 degrees when Tommy arrived. Our HVAC system is located in the attic above the second floor. He worked continuously for the next 2 and a half hours to complete the job. He had to take a couple of breaks because the heat in the attic registered over 100+ degrees. We kept him as comfortable as possible with lots of water and cool wash towels. We are so grateful for the dedication and prompt service that Tommy, Rick and MSCO provided to us. Weve been with MSCO for over 25+ years and they have always been there for us.

Used MSCO to take care of a few items on home inspection report. The technician did an excellent job. In addition, he came fully prepared with all required materials to complete the job. I contacted Travis, he responded to my phone call and appeared at my appointment on time. He was very courteous and professional and answered all of my questions. As it stands right now, I should be contacting you this week to order my new AC unit.
He worked on all the systems, checking everything thoroughly. He even cleaned the fingerprints that a previous technician left on my ceiling access door!! They called when on their way too. He spent lots of time checking on everything. Very satisfied with tech and this company!
After checking all the good reviews I called MSC to repair the a/c at my unit that was not cooling. The tech came and told me he couldn’t give me a definitive diagnosis but mostly likely it’s related to some kind of leaking. But after adding the refrigerant he concluded that it’s not leaking and that I need to spend $1953 to recharge and evacuation, not sure what that is but I am not an expert. They charged $627 for 2 lbs of refrigerant including $89 service fee and told me nothing can be done until I spend another $1953. I am really disappointed and a/c is still not functional.

I’ve been trying for a week to get someone to come out and fix my AC. I placed a call to MSCO Mechanical at 1:12 pm and had a service tech at my door @ 5:15 pm. Unfortunately my AC unit was froze up so he couldn’t repair it. He did write up a work order explaining exactly what needed to be done and the cost. I will be contacted tomorrow to be put back on the schedule. This tech was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this company for this type of work.. The office staff, the manager and this tech were all very friendly and accommodating.

MSCO-Mechanical Service Company installed a HVAC unit for our Sanctuary yesterday. They worked really hard and the AC is working well. The two technicians worked really hard as the there was no shade for most of the day. Great and responsive service. Needed a same day and they delivered. Minimum charge was $128(totally understandable). AC Problem: AC duct at the main in attic needed new tape and sealant. Customer problem: that cost was $164! I love companies that make money but holy moly. $164 for that? Wild.That said. Receptionists, dispatch, and AC repairman were incredibly professional and helpful. If this wasn’t a rental and I didn’t want this done same day I wouldn’t have utilized this service due to cost.

Technician (Travis) arrived on time and immediately asked for input to use in servicing. He then proceeded very efficiently to perform semi-annual maintenance. Technician Rick did an outstanding job of completing my annual service check, correcting minor problems and cleaning my system prior to the summer season. What impressed me most is that he took the time to point out other issues in my attic (loose fitting at the hot water heater) and even outside (water spigot leaking) and fixed both on his own since they were easy fixes. The installers were very professional. Only took them one day to finish everything. I was very pleased with their part of the job. Unfortunately the salesperson only managed to show up one time out of three appointments.
David of MSCO executed his work as a true professional. He listened to my problem, and quickly began his diagnoses to find the root cause of the issue (no cool air). David inspected the outside condenser, refrigerant supply/return lines and the air handler. Within an hour he found the problem and replaced the faulty part. The price was fair, and best of all, he didnt push anything I didnt need. MSCO will be the first and only AC repair company I call when this old system breaks again.

We had our regular maintenance completed today. We also have been concerned that we may have a problem with one of our units as our electric bill was abnormally high. Moved to Virginia Beach 4 years ago. Old system wasn’t maintaining the temperature. I had 3 estimates and chose MSCO. They replaced my entire system and have supported the system through contracts for three years.I had initially wanted a humidifier installed. However, during the install they found I had water pipes that were not suitable to use. When they told me that the humidifier could not be installed they would refund my money. The refund was deposited In my bank before the close of business that day. In addition the holes that were created to install humidifier were repaired.
My auxiliary heat was not working in my in warranty downstairs unit. The service tech found a wire nut had fallen off causing wires to separate. Former service tech myself, wire nuts do not just fall off unless improperly installed. Incidentally, MSCO were the last people in the unit for a previous issue. I spoke with the service manager and his reply was these things happen. No they dont.After multiple units installed at my home over the years and recommendations to neighbors and family, I likely will not again.I gave myself a couple of weeks to think about this situation, but in the meantime, after some very positive dealings with other unrelated companies customer service, I felt compelled to post this.
We have a maintenance contract with MSCO and they keep our two systems in top notch condition throughout the year. The routine maintenance service is incredibly thorough, done by a completely courteous and professional technicians. Other benefits of the contract include priority service calls if needed, product discounts and seasonal inspections of all components. We consider this service as a real bargain.

My he went out and I called them around 4pm and the following day they were out to fix my unit. The technician that showed up was on time and polite. Within 10 minutes he had figured out the issue and given me options for how to fix it. Overall time was maybe 45 minutes. Very pleased with the service.

In 2020, we worked with MSCO (Mechanical Service Company) to replace our entire HVAC system with Trane products -- package unit downstairs, split system upstairs, and new ductwork (they were referred to us by a relative who had used their services for many years). We initially met with Robert Smith, Comfort Consultant, who was very knowledgeable and professional, and worked with us patiently to answer our numerous questions until we felt comfortable with our selections. The installation process went smoothly, and technicians Walter (lead) and Adam were very professional and accommodating. We have reached out to Robert with several questions recently, and he has always been available to help us. We have now had our new system for about eight months, and everything is working great. The entire experience from the maintenance tech identifying the issue to sales and installation was outstanding. The tech did not try and complete work for the sake of completing work for us to ultimately have to replace the unit. The sales manager throughly walked us through our options, and how each option could provide comfort with no added sales pressure, to Mary accommodating our schedule to install the equipment, and lastly to the two techs who came out and completed the installation, treated our home as if it were their home and were very respectful. I also want to mention that our AC was not working and our salesperson worked with us to figure out an option to provide us AC at the lowest possible cost without wasting money and resources. The entire experience was much more than what I expected and certainly why we’ve been a customer for over 16 years.

Unfortunately, on of the Trane systems in house was not compatible with Nest, and the tech put me in touch with the technical support team to talk through the specifics and options. A very solid overall experience!

Excellent workmanship. But little expensive on the labor for 33.00 part they charge 100.00 labor .but your in a maintenance plan they are checkibgthe unit out part of the labor.in the plan. Dont make sense you are paying double. To remove a part to check something out its take five minutes to remove and still charged 100 pp labor.

I was having trouble with my Trane Heating unit, it was not going into a defrost cycle .The Technician Mike was very professional and had my heater repaired in less than an hour. He also was helpful in suggesting a service warranty for the unit.

Update 5/28/21 - Time for our Spring maintenance visit! We were pleased to see our service technician was Mike for this visit too. We received the same excellent service as described in my previous review. All systems, including the new air purifying unit, were functioning well and performing within normal limits. We will be requesting Mike for all future maintenance and/or repair visits.———————————————————Our service technician (Mike) arrived on time and had donned the appropriate [CDC recommended] protective gear before entering our home. He was friendly, polite, and professional. He completed a thorough inspection of our system, discovering a leaking capacitor in the A/C unit. We requested he replace the faulty part and he was able to do that during this maintenance visit, saving us the cost of a service call and likely downtime in the future. He also shared information about a new air purifying system MSCO offers. We had recently considered adding a system like he was describing so we asked him to proceed with installation of the Plasma-Pure Treatment System. I will update this review at a future date with our assessment of the new system.We’ve been customers of MSCO for almost 20 years and have always been satisfied and pleased with their professionalism, skill, and customer service. I never hesitate to recommend them to family, friends, and neighbors.
Disappointed. Our HVAC system stopped working so we called and the technician said we were next on the list. Then he calls 3 hours later and said he actually can’t come because his service manager said their contract customers have to take precedence. I understand this but don’t really understand why not tell us that first rather than telling us youre coming. So now we have to start over and hope someone else can come.
Had a Friday night AC shutdown. I called MSCO Saturday am and had a return call by David the technician in 10 minutes. He communicated with me and let me know throughout the morning and early afternoon where I was at in line to be serviced. Once he arrived he went right to work and diagnosed issue ASAP and had the part to fix it on the spot!! It is nice to see this standard of service still exists!! Would definitely recommend and use again!!
DO NOT USE THEM!!!! Purchased brand new Trane unit in 2016. The compressor went out in 2019, at only three years old. MSCO wouldn’t cover labor and Trane wouldn’t cover labor. Parts are covered for ten years. I ended up paying $1,535. Fast forward to 2021, same issue as before. Tech now says coils in the attic is bad. Service call was $323 and to replace coil $1,600. It’s funny the tech told me he had to call and get the price to replace then when I went outside and asked, he then states, “I have a price book.” I was like dude it’s ironic the prices are very similar. Lol, these people are a f****** joke! Trane is the worst unit and I personally don’t recommend MSCO or Trane. I’ve purchased over 15 units for my rentals since 2016, and none of them are Trane units...no issues with them at all.

Leon did a great job. He went above and beyond to discover an out of scope issue. Leon tenaciously explored our crawl space and connected a vent register- kind and courteous then entire time despite wet and dusty conditions. Pricing was fair and using the IPAD option was very convenient. Leon deserves a bonus for going into that dark, dirty and wet space!

I only gave 3 stars because of the promptness. Otherwise I would give 1 star due to price as it was over double another company. We needed to replace the capacitor. They were in and out in 15 minutes and it was almost $300. I would highly recommend getting quotes for different services before having them come out. They did not tell me the cost until after installing it.

Called MSCO on Tuesday and spoke to super friendly and helpful employee, Melanie, and got an appointment scheduled for Friday. On Friday Mike called on his way, showed up promptly, and was friendly, thorough and professional while servicing all three HVAC units in the house. Took time to explain everything and made sure we are all set to change seasons. After using several different companies over the years with varying degrees of success I think we’ve found our new go to HVAC partner! Will definitely recommend!
On 2 October I had my 6 month service performed by Tech, invoice 403***. During this service Tech approached me with the Plasma Pure handout. He told me about the video online that explain how the unit worked. Tech told me that the unit was $583 installed. He said that it was normally $783. I ask how long it took and the model of the unit that was being installed. Tech said 15 -20 minutes and that the model was the one in the online video. When I reviewed the invoice that I received via email I notice a couple of things. One was that there was not a model number of the unit that was installed on the invoice. Tech did not leave any paper work telling about the unit; specs, cleaning, maintenance, etc... After watching the video again I saw that the unit was Model 602 a $400 - $450 per unit online. That said, I was charged $133 for 15 - 20 minutes of labor. Second was that the Pan Pad had gone up again to $33. I thought that I was under the ESA Senior/Military contract. The price that I can get the pad online is $6 each and I would think since you buy in bulk, they are even less. I know everyone needs to make a buck but 550% increase is a little hide. I also thought that part of the 6 month service was that the inside and outside units were to be cleaned out. This was not done. MSCO was highly recommended by my neighbor. I am very disappointed of the service that I have received.
MSCO installed our HVAC system and has serviced it for the past 14 years. They are always pleasant, and informative about the status of our system. With the twice a year scheduled service, we have been able to stay on top of any concerns and part replacements, ensuring the longest life possible for our system. I especially appreciated the safety measure of the technician and myself required to wear a mask.

I’ve been a client for 10 years and would never use anyone else for our HVAC and hot water needs. Today, I noticed water dripping from the outside overflow drain. After inspecting the unit in the attic, the emergency overflow pan was 1/4 full of water. I called in a panic and two hours later, David was here! He quickly diagnosed the issue - a clogged drain, cleared it out & replaced the trap to avoid another clog.I am EXTREMELY satisfied at the level of customer service and support from David and everyone at MSCO!
Professional/courteous, beet and cleans up after finishing job.
Typically my yearly cleaning and check up takes 45-60 minutes for overall thorough inspection and cleaning and I feel like adequate care has been offered for my hard earned dollar... today I was left feeling very over charged for my 35-40 min visit and having to pay 125$+ dollars for the pleasure.... I am officially shopping around for a cheaper more professional service provider as of today....my unit is less than 6 years old and has always had proper care maintenance since installation what exactly am I paying for other than to have my coils cleaned and for someone to check my refrigerant levels? Ridiculous!
