The 2 stars are for the maintenance crews I worked with over the 3 years I lived there. They were always great!I know housing is pretty hard to come by in Vancouver, but just avoid this place if you can. The office staff changes every 36 seconds. You can count on none of them to know what they are talking about or assist with basic problems. Ask two members of staff the same question and you will get two different answers. Hell, ask the same member of staff the same question on two different days and you might get different answers. If your neighbor has a cat, you will smell the litterbox through the closets. People smoke right outside your windows (there is no AC). Ive seen screaming matches in the parking lot, a couple of fights, and lots of car break-ins.Elated to be out! Godspeed if this is your only option!(Also, take care in the grass. It is absolutely covered in pet waste.)

From the moment we decided to apply for residency at Slate Ridge, we received outstanding customer support from the Slate Ridge Team, and I know that you will receive the same treatment! Although we have been unable to use the amenities due to COVID, our townhome offered enough space, natural light, and amenities all on its own to keep us happy. Sequoia Management is with out a doubt a fantastic management company to work with. I would highly recommend choosing Slate Ridge at Fishers Landing for your next home!

Living at Slate Ridge has been great!! The maintenance crew has addressed every issue I have had in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. Dustin, Chad, and Kris are all consummate professionals!!One example – the hot surface light continued to stay illuminated on my range even after all the switches were replaced. The maintenance Crew with the Front Office Staff replaced the entire stove/oven unit to remedy the issue. They ordered the new one and had it in place within one week. Let me further explain how extraordinary this was... I work midnight shift and when they came in to change out the unit, with my permission of course, I slept through the entire thing. They went out of their way to be kind, courteous, professional, and went well and above the bare minimum. They truly care about their tenants.I know I am paying more to live in this community, but I appreciate that they are ready, willing, and able to assist me with all my issues. I feel comfortable and safe. My family feels comfortable with me in this complex in this area of Vancouver and they do not have to worry about my safety – HUGE PLUS!! In addition, it is in an area that is residential, but also within easy walking distance of shopping and dining.I cannot wait until COVID is under control and all the amenities are reopened!! Erin showed me the movie theater... OMG!!! I cannot wait until I can go in and watch movies… I am so excited!! Plus, the pool and hot tub, BBQ area, exercise room and lounging area. I am very pleased that I chose to rent at Slate Ridge Apartments. I highly recommend it!!

Slate Ridge has been an extremely positive experience for both my partner and I. We lived here for about two years and then relocated, but the opportunity to come back to Vancouver arose, and we immediately thought of coming back to this complex. We decided to come back for a few reasons:1) Management, and office staff have always been extremely friendly, kind, and supportive to us. Anything that we have needed, the office has handled tactfully, discreetly, and efficiently. Leah especially, has been very kind and helpful in the whole process of moving back. Its always nice to stop by and have the people around you know who you are.2)The complex is very clean. Management takes great pride in how the complex looks, and its very well maintained. I have never had any issues with the inside, or outside of our apartment!3)Theyre extremely dog friendly, and have all the possible resources to make sure that the complex is fun, safe, and clean for everyone. There are poo trash cans everywhere, and a dog park for people to run their pups at. I have two big dogs myself, and its been super easy living in this complex with dogs, which frankly sounds like an oxymoron, but its true. Were glad to be back, and excited to stay for a while! Special thanks to Leah, and the office team for being so helpful and friendly!

On November 9, 2020, I had my living area thermostat replaced by Dustyn. Dustyn did an outstanding job paying attention to even the smallest details. He did not hesitate to go the extra mile even though it was not needed. He is nothing less than a consummate professional, who with out a doubt, knows and takes pride in his job. In addition, his very friendly demeanor coupled with his excellent workmanship is definitely a breath of fresh air. With that said, Props to the entire staff of Slate Ridge at Fishers Landing.

The staff at Slate Ridge is always so kind and helpful when we need anything for our home. In requests for repair or topics we need to discuss they are so quick to address our needs, I have never felt inconvenienced. The amenities at the property are amazing we rent the clubhouse at least once a month for family movie night. The pool and hot tub have been restored and are great to use. We also love the on site dog park for our four legged family it is so nice to have. The new mailroom with 24 hour keyed access is a great new addition to the property and I love to know that all of my mail is secure through our mailbox or the parcel pending lockers. If you are looking for a friendly community and great staff to manage your home Slate Ridge is the place to be!

There are so many great experiences my family and I have had with the Slate Ridge staff. They have made us feel at home from the day we toured until now, a year later. Their kindness, hospitality, and professionalism has helped make our transition from CA extremely pleasant. This also includes their maintenance staff; even the with the smallest of requests, we did not wait more than a day for response and resolution. We love the property and the staff make it hard to want to leave.

Nice place to live, but watch when you move out! They are charging me with carpet replacement, saying it a pet seal cost, but my dog didn’t mess in the apartment and after six years the carpet has to be replaced by law and you shouldn’t have to pay for it. Also a crack in the range top, which they told me would cost $350.00 and two months later at move out, the cost raised to just under $600.00. Also cost to replace baseboards and paint. Beware!

This property is amazing and it is the most well-managed community I have ever seen in United States. Its management style is that the staffs work with the community close enough just like their home and their family. Therefore, there has been always an atmospheric sense of sweet home in the leasing office, club house, amenity and everywhere of the community. The maintenance team does the job super beyond my expectation, they take care of the property (exterior, interior, public area) just like their own property. Whenever there is maintenance needs (such as lighting doesnt work, toilet doesnt flush well, preventative request... anything...really any), the maintenance team came within 24 hours and get everything fixed so efficiently and professionally with a sincere and friendly smile. The great community attracts great people and tenants, so I highly recommend this place for potential neighbors who really care about and desire to move in for a great community in Vancouver, WA.

Parking in the community is also convenient, and living in the community feels very relieved and comfortable.Community managers often organized events and offer a variety of delicious foods for free. They also focus on communication between employees and residents, making the entire community vibrant. The staff is very friendly, providing enthusiasm, thoughtful and professional butler service to solve the problems encountered by residents in a timely manner. We have lived in the community for almost a year. We are very satisfied with the whole community environment and the service of the staff. When we first moved to the community, we encountered some difficulties. The staff, especially Leah, always helped us solve the problem in time, and made us feel very comfortable living in the community.Recently, we were on vacation abroad, an important letter arrived at the office, and we needed to forward it to others in other states as soon as possible. We asked the staff for help, and Leah was very enthusiastic to help us send the letter out quickly. We have fully experienced the thoughtful and professional butler service of the property staff. We think that choosing to live in this community is a very correct decision.

Slate Ridge is a truly amazing place to call home. Exceptional office staff, beautiful units, highly responsive maintenance, this is the place to be. My girlfriend and I moved in several months ago, as we had relocated to the Vancouver area suddenly for work, and though we wanted to buy a home, we simply did not have enough time to lock in all the details. With that in mind, we were a bit bummed to be apartment renting again, even if only for a short time. We moved into Slate Ridge a couple of months ago and after a few minor bumps, which the staff went above and beyond to resolve, we are all settled in. The community is a lovely place with well kempt grounds, lots of gorgeous trees and nice areas to walk around. I say community because the management staff are super friendly and always there to help. They organize lots of events for all ages, which helps with the community vibe. The leasing office/clubhouse is a welcoming place with a warm feel and nice amenities. I always seem to grab a free coffee when I stop by to pick up my mail ;)Id like to give a shout out to the maintenance staff as well, Ernie in particular. Ernie has come out a few times to help resolve some issues while we were settling in. He is always polite, friendly, and considerate of our schedule. If there is something that needs to be rescheduled, he follows up in a timely manner and completes the job without cutting any corners. He also has a way with dogs. Our little chihuahua/dachshund mix doesnt warm up to new faces easily, but she just loves when Ernie comes by. Even when she tries to help by pulling out his tools, he is patient with her and seems to get a kick out of it. Its really cute!I definitely recommend checking out Slate Ridge as a great place to live!

Renters beware. Signed our lease prior to them bringing the poo prints program into effect. We were neither notified or informed in advance that if we signed the lease that this is something that could come into effect. To keep this brief, slate ridge changed the conditions of our rental agreement MID lease. I told them initially we were not going to have my dogs participate in the program as having to give over my dogs dna so they can fine you $150/$250 and up progressively if you so much as ever take your eyes off your dog in the park for two seconds and they go to the bathroom.Though it may seem a reasonable practice to implement for cleanliness, the manner and swiftness with which they enacted it is clearly predatory at best: illegal at worst. If you have pets do NOT make the mistake of leasing from slate ridge apartments. To that end, if you care at all about living somewhere that doesn’t prey on residents by changing leasing agreements after you sign up or renew, and then threatening you to participate via threat of eviction, do NOT lease an apartment from Slate Ridge.Suffice it to say after slate ridge threatened us with eviction, my Roomate folded and let them swab my dogs DNA. If I could end our lease this second I would do it without hesitation. However the swindlers at slate ridge, want to charge us two months rent for breaking the lease early, even though they are the ones that changed the terms of our rental agreement MID LEASE. These people are predatory, don’t let the “kind staff” fool you. At this point our only course of action is to get a lawyer involved, and pray that we’ll be able to get out of this morally derelict apartment complex.

When ever I had any issues with my apartment I just had to call or visit the manager office and my issue was taken care of immediately. I have never faced a single instance where my issue was not resolved. The facilities provided are also the best. I have seen other apartments in the region which offer facilities like movie hall and other stuff but slate ridge facilities are the best among others. The school assigned to this area is the best in the Vancouver. The community is kid friendly and pet friendly. There is enough space in the community for the kids to play. Any problems that occurred in the apartment were promptly fixed. The great attitude of the people that work here really made this a good experience for us. We lived in this apartment complex for about 1.5 years. We terminated our lease early because we bought a house. This is a solid 2.5-3 stars complex and here is why:Pros:- Location is great. You are next to the highway 14, stores are near by, as well as the transit center if you commute to Portland. There are couple of parks around, which is nice for bike riding and walking.- Maintenance is great. The maintenance crew is amazing, always polite, got work done on time and there is short waiting period.- Cleanliness. This apartment complex is clean and very well taken care of. The grass is cut regularly and no garbage laying around.- Events. The management holds seasonal events with BBQ, activities for kids, and other foodCons:- Moving-in process. They have available apartments on their website, but the price is misleading. The price is for if you get in that same day. When we asked them if they could hold the apartments for 4 days, so we can schedule the movers, they refused. We had to agree to get our monthly price to be increase by 20$ per month. Which ended up 260$ after 13 months in addition to over 1500$..- Fees. So many fees. 300$ of non refundable fee for moving in, 300$ refundable fee, $300 refundable and $300 non refundable fee for a dog, 15$ per month additional payment for a pet.- Garbage. They have a garbage service for which you pay 35$ and which is terrible. They dont take out garbage on Friday, Saturday and holidays. Your garbage can stay outside for days and stink or you should take it out yourself. Garbage doesnt get picked up on average couple of times a month for numerous reasons: too heavy, too much garbage, or the garbageman just forgot. In the morning, you either have to take the garbage out yourself and be late for work or leave it outside and get a letter from the management about it. Calls to the management wont solve anything at all.- Pests. I have never seen so many insects in the house in my life. Spiders, ants, and bunch of other insects all over the house. I asked office to come out and spray the roof because we live near the trees and the spiders were coming through it. The guy came out and sprayed by the front door... This did not solve anything at all and we kept seeing huge spiders throughout the summer and fall.- Emergencies. Around Christmas time we had a pipe leak. Contacted the maintenance and they came out and closed the valves. The office hired a company to take out the walls and dry out everything because of the water damage. It was terrible. The communication was zero to none about what is going on until I went to the office and talked to the manager. The workers blocked off the only heater there was on the first floor and we had to use fireplace to warm up... The workers ruined my wifes clothes and we had to talk for a long time with the management to get compensated. After 3.5 weeks the work was done and we got ZERO compensation for sleepless night (fans were running), terrible house conditions, ruined holidays, and no communication. They offered us nothing.Amenities. There is a gym, but half the equipment is broken, never has cleaning wipes. Pool was closed the entire summer and was opened only in September. They were remodeling the pool, even though that type of work could have been done outside the pool season.Mail. No mailboxes for a year, had to go to the office to get it. Better get there right after work before 6pm or you out of luck. Sending out packages was a nightmare..- Moving out process. They asked to clean the room to get your deposited back, but what they dont tell you is that unless it is professionally cleaned by a company you wont get your deposit back. We spent 5 hrs cleaning and got only 200$ out of 700$ back because there was some dust behind the toilet and the oven had some stains on the glass...-Our electric bill was on average 70+$ in 2 bedroom apartment. In 2600 square feet house our electric bill is 35-40$... Same thing with water bill..I would not lease apartment here again if I had to find a place to live.

Took a ton of effort and endless phones calls just to get the place. Calls would simply not get returned. Missed move in appointments, missed move out appointments, and the office was almost always empty. Then once I got the place the fees were endless. A move in fee, a non refundable pet fee, pet rent, trash fees, activation fees, the list goes on. Then on top of that they double charged utilities after moving out plus charged a cleaning fee, and a carpet cleaning fee (which was also part of the move in fee so again a double charge) - even though the pre-inspection person said it looked great. All this for a stay of just a few months. It was cleaner then when I got it.The apt itself is window dressing on a crappy old building. All the heat is electric with just a little wall heater for the entire downstairs. The units are packed in so that there was never any sun making the unit always cold and dark. Except for the upstairs which was always hot. Crappy carpet full of cat hair - even with paying for carpet cleaning twice. The rest of the finishes, washer and dryer, missing caulk, etc was all bottom of the line.Outside the patio would flood out every time it rained. The guys cut the law all the time tearing up the yard into mud. Little kids outside screaming all day long - I guess home school. Then they ran around screaming all night. Lots of cats always trying to walk into the house.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Slate Ridge has been our home for several years. There is a coziness to this community that makes it feel like home, not a temporary apartment. From the beautifully cared for grounds, cheerful, hard-working staff, to the well maintained buildings, this is the best apartment community I have lived in. Super Bowl Sunday 2017 stands out as a perfect example of what Slate Ridge is: I was home alone and felt sad that I didnt have anyone to watch the super bowl with. At the lodge, I discovered that the staff were providing chips, fruit, cookies and soda. There were a few others watching the game so it was nice to have company. One tenant had reserved the lodge for a party beginning at 6 PM. I was preparing to leave and the game was not over. She came up to me and said she had to cancel her party but would be pleased if I stayed to watch the remainder of the game. One other family was there to watch the game too. So the 6 of us enjoyed watching the game to the end. And we made new friends.

Run away from this property. It is falling apart and is horribly run by both management and upper management!First, not only did this place take our money for rent after no place to shower for 3 weeks due to a water pipe that leaked, they showed no signs of offering help or compensation for an unhabitable unit. We wrote a letter asking them to work with us on rent and show compassion...(and abide by the law). The assistant manager Kristin said shed ask upper management. No response. Only an email that rent was due. What?!? Seriously! Our roommate has been suffering from Influenza B ever since the plumbing problem began and has had to bathe at family and friends houses! My boyfriend and I are rarely there due to traveling for work. After working 92 consecutive days out of state, it would be nice to come back to an apartment where we can shower and do our laundry. Currently, there is no shower or toilet in our roommates bathroom and our bathroom has no hot water. Strong work Slate Ridge. On the topic of travel, dont get me started on their complete negligence and incompetence to inform me of 2 certified letters sent to me from the DMV in reference to the cancelation of my license because my truck driving school had experienced an audit and Id been randomly selected to retest for my Class A license. By the time I got home and opened my mail, my license had been canceled the DAY BEFORE! Kristin in the office SIGNED for MY CERTIFIED MAIL and then left it in the mail room INSIDE their office in our mailbox. They have since implemented a new mail system with actual mailboxes which popped up overnight when I explained Id lose my truck driving job because of their negligence! Constant emails when packages arrived but couldnt even have the decency to send an email to notify that certified mail had come?!!! TIME SENSITIVE CERTIFIED MAIL!They take major short cuts. For example, lets go back to those certified letters. Leah in the office said they would do everything in their power to write a letter to the DMV on my behalf with hopes I could keep my license (and job). The letter only served to cover their butts and did nothing to benefit me. It didnt mention that I had no knowledge it existed or any mention of Kristin signing for it and then failing to inform me. Whomever signs certified mail has a responsibility to give it to who its addressed to and not leave it sitting in their office. Their pathetic letter merely stated exactly WHEN I picked up my mail. Ironically, I didnt pick up my mail at all. My BOYFRIEND DID but when I asked them to rewrite the letter and notarize it to ACTUALLY PROVE I wasnt there due to work out of state, the district manager ARGUED WITH ME that they couldnt prove I was out at work and that since it was notarized, they didnt want to say something untrue! Ummm....I showed them my time sheets for work. Dates, times, location. I had everything documented! On my end, everything was true! Not the case on theirs. The real kicker was that they couldnt even splurge a few bucks to go to an unbiased notary and instead used, get this, the same person who signed and failed to deliver my certified mail ALSO WAS THE SAME PERSON TO NOTARIZE THE LETTER THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP MY CASE: Kristin Bastil! My life was destroyed because of this. They could have helped! They were more interested in covering their tracks. Ive lost jobs because the letters had time sensitive information. I spent thousands of dollars to rectify this and have now been demoted to a lower commercial drivers license, limiting what jobs I can take. Pretty funny that they wont sign for certified mail anymore and that mail center popped up immediately, which they claim had been in the works prior.RIP OFF! If you want to live in an environment that takes your money, doesnt care if you have hot water/ place to shower, and screws with your mail, by all means move in. But youve been warned!!! Id stay away from this overpriced mouse infested apartment complex. Thats right. Mice! Paying $2100 for this nightmare. Beware!!

It smells like cookies! We are completely satisfied with our experience at Slate Ridge. The staff are always so helpful and cheerful, even months after we moved in. They ask us how we are doing and legitimately remember who we are. The maintenance staff are nice and not creepy, and consistently do a great job keeping the place beautiful. It is definitely the best apartment complex around.

Great location, well maintained, Leah (the person that I worked with) was amazing in making the process really easy (I was remote). I did compare the cost and it is in the market range, when you compare the apartments and the surroundings I think this is the best or one of the best alternatives in the area.

I have lived at Slate ridge for nearly four years and the complex is beautiful. The trees are spectacular and the maintenance staff is really top notch from any apartment living home I have ever experienced. The grounds are kept very beautiful and in the summer time the squirrels, birds, and children play alike. This community and living standards is very high grade in my opinion. Some may say the price is too high for apartments but there is a price to be paid for convenience and comfortable living quality. There was a time where I once had many issues with my new refrigerator and the maintenance staff tried everything to fix it. The appliance was only a year old and just failed they not only fixed the problem but replaced the food that was spoiled as a result, and it doesnt stop there the SLATE RIDGE staff also gave me a $50.00 gift card to Main Event Bar and Grill. I love Slate Ridge and the staff, neighbors and surrounding community. Very high standard for apartment style living.

Pros: Located right off of SE 164th Ave, great schools (if you have children), easy to commute into Portland, amazed by how quiet the complex was.CONS: Amenities are out dated: the pool was closed for maintenance for most of the summer, tv room was dirty and frequently locked. I often experienced poor communication between the community managers and maintenance persons.Apartment issues I had experienced when moving in:When moving in my carpet was stained and dirty like someone dragged their work boots through it, my door locks were damaged and werent replaced until the third time I was locked out of the apartment, there was minimal lighting, had cracked light switches, when my carbon monoxide alarm when off there was a slow response (about two hours) the apartment was dusty, the walls were black from smoke residue, the carpet was in need of replacing as tacks were noticeably showing and wasnt even vacuumed and the windows had smudges all over them.Apartment issues I experienced when moving out:My friends and I scrubbed the apartment from head to toe. The walk through inspection was performed and we re-dusted the entire apartment afterwards especially the areas mentioned. I damaged nothing. Yet I was surprised as a few weeks later I received a notice of having to pay an absorbent amount in various cleaning/repair fees with no detail in any remaining issues. I was an excellent tenant who paid the rent early, was often gone most of the time and treated my living area with the upmost respect. The lack of transparency was extremely disappointing compared to other apartments I resided in.I am not one for complaining, I hope that my review will give prospective renters an honest look of renting at Slate Ridge.Thank you

I have been a resident at Slate Ridge since way before Sequoia bought the property. I moved out about three years ago to start a new chapter in life. My new journey took a turn I was not expecting. I tried another complex that was running a special at the time. The special turned out to be so special I could not wait for my lease to be up. The day I received my renewal notice, I knew where I was going. I went right back home to Slate Ridge. I could not ask for a better team. Everyone is very kind and visiting the office is like visiting family. Maintenance this time around is a vast improvement from when I left. I have to say I receive quality work and a quick response when something has malfunctioned in my home. When I call or go in the Leasing Office it is always pleasant. I would like to point out that Sarah is always there with great customer service and a welcoming smile. I can count on her to make sure the job gets done. Sarah is always interested in knowing what she can do to help. It is hard to find great customer service and a person who will actually go above and beyond for her residents. Thank you Sarah for making home comfortable for me once again. You have helped make my transition easy on the worse days. I look forward to my stay at Slate Ridge.

I have lived here at Slate Ridge for a very long time. The customer service I receive from this team is amazing. It is obvious that every person on this team is continuously making sure everything is going well for their residents. On my way to work the other morning Ernie stopped me to say hello. Ernie had a huge smile on his face and made sure to ask how everything was going in my home. I was extremely amazed. What maintenance technician wants more work? Ernie made sure to tell me he was working and ready to fix anything I may need fixedI moved to Slate Ridge back in 2000. The change from Heritage Green to Slate Ridge, has been nothing but a positive experience. The Slate Ridge Team Members are some of the best you could ever ask for. The team really does take pride in the quality of their work while maintaining the excellence of the Community. I left for two years; however found myself moving back home last year. Upon my return to Slate Ridge I was so happy to see everyone again. Yes there were a few new faces with the team; however turnover is normal in any industry. I would like to recognize one team member that always sticks out from the rest. The quality of customer service I have received from Kristin is truly genuine. Kristin has a very strong work ethic while at the same time she can create an inviting atmosphere for everyone. Kristine has helped make my stay here at Slate Ridge more then enjoyable. We often hear the terms ordinary and extraordinary. I can honestly say that Kristen is your extraordinary that flies right past your ordinary. I enjoy stopping in for a quick hello. Kristin can sure turn your day around, as I always see Kristin with a smile. I would like to say, Thank you Kristin, for your sincere service, in Resident Relations. You truly are one of the best and appreciated by many.Julie

Terrible experience. The apartment was similar to a cave, there was no natural light, and there were no lights in either bedroom.I paid $800 when I moved out, paid another $700 a month later for cleaning fees (which we cleaned prior). Three months after moving out, I received a bill for another $200 in which they had already turned over to debt collectors for supposed outstanding utilities that I owed.Rent is severely overpriced, and you cant expect to walk away without giving them an arm and a leg to sever ties. That being said, the best takeaway of this place was the consistently excellent service provided by the maintenance staff.

Stayed here for a month and a half when I moved to the area, and was waiting for my house to close. They charged me a full deposit and gave none of it back. The carpets were sticky and smelly and the pool was closed 90% of the time. The apartments look nice on the outside, but were not sanitary inside. I do not think this place operates ethically, and I would not recommend anyone stay here if

By far best managed apartments around! My family and I have lived here over 2 years we have had the privilege of getting to know the staff. One story Im very proud to tell is when we had to take our son to the hospital for surgery. With the craziness of the week we ended up paying rent a day late. Expecting to get a late fee we called and told them what happened. Instead of a late fee they gave our son a $25.00 gift card to toys r us! Even though we dont plan on staying here forever we will definitely recommend this place to anyone who asks.

We are current resident and are decently pleased with our experience so far. We live in 2bd 2bt town home and like the kitchen and bedrooms. Closets are small but it is expected in an apartment. Bathrooms can use some upgrade as far as tubs and shower go.We are pretty disappointed about parking situation. Some folks enjoy covered parking while some like us do not. When renting an apartment they should clearly mention that you will never get a covered parking. Our neighbors who moved in after us got covered parking even though we had requested to provide us with one when there is a spot available. For a pet friendly place, they should provide pet waste disposal stations. Every pet friendly apartment complex I have lived in or seen has these. Even the apartments across the street has them. The leasing office folks are very friendly and help you with any need. The folks who service the apartment are also awesome.

I moved to the Pacific Northwest from Chicago for work, and I had shopped for apartments for a while. When I discovered Slate Ridge, I knew there was something different about it. It wasn’t just another apartment complex with amenities, it truly had a warm, quality, and friendly atmosphere. I mainly noticed how amazing the staff treated others, and the people living in the complex are friendly as well. Slate Ridge staff truly take care of you from the moment you walk into the leasing office, through the process of finding the right apartment. They answered any questions I had, honestly. Rarely have I seen any issues regarding the apartment itself. We had a lightbult go out and within less than 24 hours they had maintenence staff install a new bulb. The community is friendly, (pet friendly too), and I love the inside of the apartments/town homes as well, especially the wood burning fireplace. A wonderful place to live. I’ve been living here almost 2 years, and I know i’ll miss it when I eventually buy a house. I highly recommend Slate Ridge in Fisher’s Landing, Vancouver, WA to anybody looking for a quality, friendly, and afforable place to live.

So far we love it here. They do a great job of keeping the complex looking beautiful. All the amenities are great and the front office is pretty good at responding in a timely manner. My only complaint would be the lack of good parking and the limited closet space inside the 2bd/2br townhouses. We plan to stay here until we purchase a home someday, this is the perfect place for our family!

Management and staff are very friendly and customer oriented. lots of attention to the experience and amenities. a bit pricey, but they definitely want to make residents feel welcome and well served, with lots of events to bring people together and top notch facilities and maintenance. just did not appreciate things like imposed valet refuse service, on top of rental rates that were a bit excessive. we spent a lot of time cleaning and left the place absolutely spotless and were still charged $85 for carpet cleaning, for example, when we moved out. its a nice place to live, as far as rental appartments go, in almost every way, but as a value-conscious consumer, I was a little frustrated at the cost add-ons and relative value for the money.

Dont let the photos fool you. I only lived there for three months and had consistent problems. My neighbor also consistently complained about the complex and has lived there shorter than myself. Within those three months I never once received a correct monthly bill and had to request a change in person multiple times for two of the bills. This was a complete waste of my time, especially after I had already corrected them before. The heater did not work. I was told from the staff that I could expect a temperature swing by as much as 10 degrees. It was either freezing or burning up with no in between. The dishwasher took hours to clean a load of dishes. The washing machine banged around so much that it actually damaged the walls and tore the vynil flooring. It was impossible to turn the TV up loud enough to drown the noise out. The walls were paper thin and I could actually hear every phone conversation my neighbor had and he wasnt even speaking loudly. Neither the living nor bedroom had ceiling lights so be prepared to buy a lot of lamps to light the place up. Whats more is that the grounds continually flooded to the point that they have permanent sand bags around some apartments and use a pump to pump out water rather than fixing the storm drains. However, the most disappointing aspect was the final bill. I spent hours cleaning the place and re-cleaned everything I was asked to and was still charged additional cleaning fees. I was not invited to the final inspection but was charged for things Slate Ridge could not prove that I did. In fact, the final inspection sheet stated that the carpets were clean and they still charged me carpet cleaning fees. How ridiculous is that?!Overall, my stay at Slate Ridge was highly disappointing and I would not recommend that anyone stay there. No amount of free coffee can make up for what You have to put up with.

Our family absolutely loves it here!!!First off, the actual apartment (townhouse) is lovely. It was all ready for us and super clean when we first moved in with a little welcome package complete with mugs to grab some complimentary Starbucks coffee/tea or hot chocolate at the lodge (help yourself all day long if you want). Our townhouse felt almost brand new. It has modern features and is quite spacious.I LOVE the staff here. They are all so friendly and extremely helpful. They always seem a step ahead of the game. I seriously dont think Ive ever had a complaint about them...I assume if people have any issues with them that it must be a personal problem because they are all just so nice!I think our favorite part is the amenities. The pool, workout room, and the beautiful lodge complete with a very cool theater! They even have a dog park but we dont have any animals. Its cute though. The staff throw a bunch of different parties for all of us here at Slate. BBQs, wine tastings, Christmas celebration, Egg hunts, Harvest parties, and activities for the kids like the guessing jar and rewards for doing well in school...Seriously...its so cool.Oh and sometime you come home to some gourmet cookies and what not, hanging on your door just saying thanks for being here. Even a Birthday card with a little treat for your Birthday. Im not even kidding! Its that cool!I did a bunch of research before moving to Slate Ridge, (from out of state) and Im SO GLAD we chose this place over a few others we were looking at. The main reason we landed here is the schools. Top notch. The elementary school has several awards for being the best Statewide. The middle school and high school is top rated as well.Bottom line...It is a bit more expensive but well worth the ALL the extras. We look at it as paying a little extra for a A+ education for the kids and free local entertainment. To top it all off, it seems the people who rent here are more family friendly and its actually quite peaceful and quiet, (well, I can only speak for this part of the apartments, not sure about the other areas. But when I walk around its always pretty quiet). That about sums it up. LOVE IT HERE!
