NW HVAC replaced our 30+ YO furnace and also installed new AC! Steve(owner) and his crew were professional and very communicative. No surprises just great service. AC went out on one of the hottest days of summer here and on a Sunday. They had a technician (I believe his name is Callen) out within 2 hours. The young man was focused, knowledgeable, and a great trouble shooter. He did get the AC back on, waited to see that it was functioning properly, and was on his way. Very IMPRESSED. NW HVAC will be my first choice always going forward.

I shopped around to find someone to retrofit an existing gas-furnace system with a heat pump, to add A/C and ultimately save on heating costs. The local company that originally installed our furnace didnt come close to matching the bid from NW HVAC, but on top of that, their responsiveness, communication, friendliness, and attention to detail on the job were all excellent. They even identified a mistake in duct and filter sizing in our original installation and came up with an affordable solution. Great all around.

We needed a major overhaul of our HVAC system. Steve was professional and incredibly helpful in answering questions over the phone about the problems we were experiencing. When he came to give an estimate he was again very forthcoming and took his time explaining all of the options. After a few bids from different companies we decided to hire NW HVAC to complete the work. They were clean, professional and completed the overhaul in a timely manner. They came back a few months later to perform a service free of charge and to ensure it was all working as it should be. Steve also gave me his cell phone and has since responded to my questions via text message. Truly incredible service!

We werent sure about our new house but we have 3 floors and the maintenance tech was knowledgeable and gave us confidence on our system because each level was different temperatures. We began a large renovation in a historic home 4 years ago that included gutting a basement, redesigning and moving the furnace and ducts and installing an electric heat pump with a back up gas furnace. We had a very old heat pump and decided to go with NW HVAC and bought a Coleman. We were very pleased with everything. They put in a whole new system. Results are amazing. Our house is comfortable all the time now and no need to touch the thermostat. Our PGE bill went down 90 dollars a month! AND we have AC! We absolutely would recommend this company to anyone.

We first used NW HVAC 8 years ago when the heat pump and backup furnace went out. Of the three quotes we received, we went with NW HVAC due to price and knowledge. NW HVAC installed our new heat pump system in 2017 and we were pleased with their work. They delivered exactly as our contract specified. While in our house were very courteous and professional and didnt leave a mess. The Coleman product we choose has kept us warm in the winter and cool in the summer (sometimes almost too cool.) The unit is more efficient than our old one, saving us money.

Working with this company was a great experience from beginning to end. I got estimates from three places, but when Steve came out, he was the only one who wanted to look at the duct work under the house. He was also the only one to discuss my options at length and explain how the machines work together for greater or lesser efficiency. Had a great experience with NW HVAC Services today. We didn’t have any issues with our heat pump system, but wanted a basic maintenance visit to make sure everything was working well. Shane answered my call right away and told me what a service call would cover and what it would cost. After calling a couple of other companies, we discovered they were the lowest price and it sounded like their work would be thorough.That was definitely the case. Shane (different Shane than the one from the initial call) let us know when he was on his way and was very personable and professional. He carefully ran through his detailed checklist, explained what he was doing and answered all of our questions. He checked the inside furnace unit, the outside heat pump unit, took photos and emailed us the levels and status of all the items he checked out.We highly recommend them and would definitely use them again for routine maintenance or should any issues arise.

When our heater stopped working, we called NW HVAC. They dispatched a technician the same day. It was explained that they could repair our 20 year old heater but we decided, in the long run, it would be more advantageous to replace the heater and AC units. We are completely satisfied with NW HVAC, the owner, Steve, and the installation team. We are doing an addition to our home and late in the process realized we needed to replace our electric furnace. We had 5 bids. Steves bid was thorough - he inspected our crawl space and attic duct work, determined our square footage - including the new addition - and calculated the heat load to determine the right system for us. If you research how to choose an HVAC system youll see that the most important issue is system design, then system installation. Brand of system is not so important. Steves bid took all this into account.He was then able to schedule installation quickly and worked with our GC to coordinate installation with the insulation work. They started with a duct work flow and leakage measurement to determine current state of the system, then they removed the entire existing system and ductwork - our ducts were 40 years old and leaked terribly, and were poorly designed to boot. They then installed all the ducts, then air handler, then the heat pump. They were here every day and worked all day. Knocked on the door to tell us they had arrived and knocked again to tell us they were wrapping up for the day. They were hard working and polite.When the heat pump was first turned on it worked beautifully. Good heat flow and the house warmed up more quickly than it ever has. The temperature stays steady and doesnt swing up and down as much as the old system. The cooling works great, too. The system is much quieter than the original system, and even the exterior heat pump runs with a quiet hum instead of the loud roar often heard from older compressors. All our vents blow the right volume of air, which was not the case before replacement. Our house stays warm in all rooms now, and its very comfortable. We are looking forward to hot summer days to enjoy the cooling the system will provide.I highly recommend NW HVAC. The system design and selling process, installation, and post installation work was all great.

I call NW HVAC after failed attempts to fix our heat pump failed. Steve knew exactly what was going on and took the time to explain what he did, what he found, what he recommended, and answered our questions, all in a very professional and friendly manner. Steve was fantastic. For the low price of a standard inspection, he cleaned the filters, repaired the coarse filters (which had begun to separate from their rims) so that we would not have to buy new ones, vacuumed out all sections of the indoor unit, checked for wires that could overheat and cause a fire, corrected loose wiring connections that a previous company had made, pointed the outdoor wiring connections upward so that moisture would not pool in them and cause corrosion, corrected a situation that could have abraded one of the refrigerant tubes, checked the refrigerant levels, checked for debris in the outdoor unit, taught me how to maintain the unit for its maximum lifespan, gave me instructions for running it in such a way as to minimize our heating bill. He was extremely knowledgeable and meticulous. I asked him how often I should call him for a check-up, and he said I could go two years, as long as I kept the filters clean. Two years is a much longer interval than the six months that I had found recommended on the internet, so I am sure that Steve is very honest. Incidentally, he was also very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. I especially appreciated all of the education he provided. I am glad that I chose him!

We had a 38 year old GE Electric forced air furnace in our home. It was the original furnace. Although there was nothing wrong with it we felt it had outlived its potential. We decided to put in a new heat pump and furnace. One of my main concerns was the integrity of the installer. In almost all the reviews, the components in the heat pumps are basically the same but the service, both initial and follow up, were not always positive. So my first concern would be getting an installer that would provide good service now and down the road. It was important to me to have full coverage 10 years parts and LABOR.I had five bids, from different contractors, each who carried a different product brand. I went on line and looked at reviews for the products as well as the contractors. Each company came out to give us an estimate.When Steve came out he sat down and made us very comfortable while telling us about the Coleman Heat Pump and Furnace. We were initially looking at the Ruud Heat Pump and he explained why he felt the Coleman would be a better fit for what we wanted. He gave us a quote, which included the credit for PUD and a manufacturers credit for the heat pump. He said he would fill out and process all the paperwork for the credits and deduct them from the final price. I contacted Steve with additional questions during the week and he always got back to us quickly. His quote was the best and I liked what I read about the Coleman Brand. We decided to have him do the work.He set it up for two days work. The crew showed up on time and Steve made sure the initial work got started. His son Wes remained on the job during the two days. The electrician, Doug, from Pleasant Valley Electric was a really nice guy who ran the wiring just where I wanted it. He did a very professional job. Wes and Rick completed installation of the furnace and heat pump. All the holes in the house and outside were sealed up with sheet metal plates screwed into place and finished off with silicone. Very professional. Neat and Clean. Steve returned at the end of the first day and put us on Emergency Heat until they could program the heat pump, the following morning. We were never without heat in the evening.Steve came back the following morning and programed the heat pump and furnace and then ran an air flow test. He discovered there was not enough air flow from the cold air return for the furnace to run efficiently. He explained to me what needed to be done and he added an additional cold air return, which worked out perfectly. (No additional charge) Wes and Rick went over the thermostat controller and answered our questions before leaving.It has only been a week since the install but so far so good. Steve was professional and followed up to make sure everything was done correctly. I would recommend NW HVAV in a heartbeat.May 1, 2019Follow up. We have had the Coleman Unit now for over a year. Steve came out with Mark, a new technician, to provide the annual checkup. Replaced recall parts even though the unit was running well. This was to stay ahead of the game and stay updated on recall issues. Many companies would wait until there was a problem but Steve took care of the recall right away. They spent two hours checking everything. Only cost on this first visit was the cost of the new filter. Great Service.

During the hottest days of July, Steve came to check my air conditioner, explained why it wasnt working and within a few days installed a new, more efficient system. He also added a better air filter system on my furnace. All this before those very hot days ended!

This past summer I researched many HVAC firms from the Vancouver, Wa, area to replace my homes 70-something year-old oil furnace with a natural gas furnace and also to add A/C. I chose three firms off the Clark County Utilities list with very good reviews online to come for visits to my home and give me an estimate.NW HVAC, represented by owner Steve Veatch, was the third and final firm to visit my home. Within the first 15 minutes (actually sooner) it became clear to me that Steve was head and shoulders above the other firms representatives in grasping my homes particular situation and visualizing how to creatively and economically solve its HVAC challenges. Steve seemed to be selling me his expertise (I found out later that NW HVAC specializes in retro-fit work) while the other firms, very solid and reputable, seemed in comparative terms to be more selling me products.Both of the other firms told me that I would need to have a separate and specialized asbestos abatement firm come to my house and take out varying amounts of old asbestos-covered ductwork, which then the HVAC firms would replace with new ductwork. Steve, however, immediately recognized (without me saying anything about the other firms proposals) that he could leave the top of the old furnace housing in place when demoing my old furnace (which would leave the old ductwork system intact, un-touched and therefore code compliant) and then, after placing the new furnace directly under the old housing, connect my new furnace to that old housing with a short section of his own custom-shaped sheetmetal work. Due to Steves experience and ability to visualize, this saved me an estimated $1500 - $2000 right off the bat!And to further adding to my trust, before Steve left that first meeting he told me that I wouldnt need as powerful a furnace as I thought I would and that I wouldnt need as expensive an A/C unit as I thought I would - he said the size of my house simply didnt need more. And a few days later after his estimate of costs (with options) were submitted to me, he voluntarily shared with me that the most expensive furnace option (that I had requested) wouldnt really pencil out for my smaller house and that the mid-level expense furnace option would make me very happy. My final furnace and A/C financial package turned out to be as affordable as I could have ever hoped for.NW HVAC is a small, family-owned firm and this turned out to be ideal for me. Steve was at my house during the majority of the furnace and A/C installation leading his crew, which includes his highly experienced son Wes (who also teaches an HVAC Tech class locally) and also an experienced third crew member. Throughout the entire project I had extremely good access by email and phone to Steve. I might add that Steve has been in the HVAC business for 35 years and it showed in his coming up with creative solution after creative solution for my project.During the installation process I came to appreciate how physically hard much of the work is and the multitude of skills and disciplines the NW HVAC crew draws on in completing the work. And through all this Steve and his crew did impeccable work - as clean looking as can be and even receiving compliments from the city inspectors. Also the crew was very enjoyable to have in my house - polite, friendly and ready to explain anything and everything I might have a question about - they never failed to keep me in the information loop.Now my furnace and A/C are installed and so far I am very happy with the results. My house stayed as comfortable as can be during the stretch of near-100 degree weather we just experienced. Also the furnace passed its its first burning test - about 20 minutes with the thermostat set for 90 degrees while the outside temperature was 70 degrees.I would recommend them to anybody!Edit: After two years I am still extremely happy with my furnace and A/C and NW HVACs excellent work/service!

I called and asked to have my system serviced. We have been here almost 4 years and havent had it serviced before. My Ac isnt keeping up with the several days of 100+ weather. That is what I said to the woman who answered the phone. I thought I was asking to have my system cleaned. They came out and checked for problems, found a second spot for filters that we didnt know was there. That 2nd filter had never been changed because we have been using the regular filter drawer. They didnt clean our system as I had expected. To come out again is another fee. The girl who took my call misunderstood me. I believe I Was clear with what I wanted. Apparently getting your Hvac maintenanced and serviced are two separate things. We complained. My system still needs to be cleaned and I should not have to pay that fee two times because of someone elses misunderstanding. My husband spoke to the office manager Shane, who said he had spoken to the owner Steve. Shane told us that Steve agreed to let us get our Hvac cleaned without charging a second fee. Today the owner Steve called me and said that after reviewing the information he is taking back the offer of not charging us a second time. Theyll come back to do what I asked for the first time but only if I pay them the 140 fee again. Very poor customer service. They never should have agreed to something first and then reviewed the information and change his mind. Who runs their company like that. Needless to say, if I have to pay a second fee to get the job done, it will be with a different company.
