I HATE going to different nail salons and being disappointed and of course I went here and got my toes done and that was awesome the lady was great but when it got to my nails I am thoroughly dissatisfied because they were poorly done and look terrible I complained and just asked for a color change like just paint and they told me 30 dollars for color change... Went in to get 4 nails soaked off and a tip added. My nails sat in acetone for almost 2 hours. During that time about 5 people were serviced and finished---people that came in after me and also had multiple services. They were very rude!

Tina was very sweet and wore a mask. Also gentle and did an excellent job.

Ive been truly contemplating whether I was going to write this review or not. It took me almost the whole day to finally calm down, so I can sit and write all my thoughts down. After going to this location for over 3 years of providing this place my buisness, today is officially the last and final straw. I was made to feel unwelcome, unappreciated and disposable. If you want to know why read below:Over the course of the 3 years I had some overall great experiences. I had built a relationship with the staff . They always made me feel welcomed and made me feel like we were friends. I truly loved everything about the environment. Scott was so kind to give me a member card just becomes I was there about every two weeks. He would always help pick out my toe nail colors. Until sometime last year or the beginning of this year I had a bad experience with the manager for the first time. She didnt do my nails the way I usually like them and her hands seemed to be a lot more shaking then normal. They were uneven on one side then the other and just made my nail issues even worse.The staff would argue in front of customers which always made me feel awkward . I did try to find another location to start getting my nails done in Tyler, but no luck. So I went back after I said I wasnt and gave it another chance. This time I was introduced to Sam who has always made my nails look amazing no issues and had a great eye for colors. She always took her time and I felt she took pride in her work. Well on Sunday she wasnt there, but was referred to the new girl they had hired and I agreed. As Im about done getting my pedi (which the girl did an amazing job) the manager grabbed my colors and told me sit down. I thought ok maybe ill try this one more time maybe she had a bad day. Well I was wrong i tried to ask her a question about the colors I wanted and she got up and made a little scene which made me feel awkward . She didnt seem to really care about how they looked cause they werent even ombre.When I called to advise them that I hated them and wanted them to be redone (even offered to pay a second time) they agreed and said to come in. A few minutes later they called back and advised me to go pick up my money for my nails and refused to redo them. Basically was told by partial owner, that he didnt want to get into an argument with the manager and just going to do as she said. The reasoning I was given was they felt they couldnt satisfy my needs and please me, however that wasnt the case I just wasnt satisfied with the managers work. After having a talk with Scott he agreed allow Sam to redo them and told me to come in. I advised him I didnt want any drama with her just wanting to get them looking right. When I got to the entrance Scott was standing there cash on the counter he grabbed it and handed it to me and told me to leave. I was really confused cause they had just agreed to fixed them. I asked for a reason and basically was told that there was going to be issues and to leave. All this was happening as people were looking at me strange. So I told them I will make sure to let everyone know how i was treated. As I get into my vehicle Sam comes out to try and talk to. I explain my side and told her i never had an issue with her work she was amazing and I was hurt by how i was treated. She tried to tell me not to write a bad review because well it wasnt right, and I got my money back (which I didnt ask for). She claims that I requested it, which was false. Manger comes outside knowing we now have issues, because of this and just stands there smirking and smiling not saying a word.Sam then the tries to (in my opinion) intimidate me into not writing a review by claiming they will respond. Which I advised they had every right to as I did to write this long review/experience. They basically walked away and sam wished me luck on finding someone to do my nails. I have attached photo of the nails in this review they were supposed to be an orange and black ombre.

Went in to get my nails done. Yen was on the phone the whole time she was doing my nails. She was not friendly to me at all. I guess her phone conversation was more important than her client. She was incredibly rude to another person as well, being kind and friendly is how you build relationships with your clients, its not hard at all.

I have been a customer at Solar Nail Spa for many years. I have even been through the change in ownership. Personally, I liked the salon with the prior owner ok, but I feel even more comfortable there now!!! I always feel like my experience matters and if The technicians feel I might not be happy with what picked, they make solid recommendations, and I’ve yet to be disappointed in taking there advice. I feel that the service they provide and the time they spend on each customer is well worth the Money charged... I feel like they could charge more for the service they provide! I repeatedly see people come in late in the day or on Sunday when most salons are slammed or not open and complain about the wait. However, I’ve yet to see an unreasonable wait time yet!Thanks to each of the team at Solar Spa!You are greatly appreciated 💕

I am from Dallas and used to drive back to Dallas because I could not find a good place in Tyler. This is the best nail place in Tyler. They have a great standards and always do a great job. love all the nail specialists at this salon. Customer service is absolutely wonderful!

Sam is absolutely amazing!!!! I am in town for work and they are so good I will be driving into town just to come to this nail salon. Sam did my pedicure today and was the best one I have had! Takes her time to make sure nails and toes are perfect. Highly recommend Sam

An absolutely great experience at this place. My daughter and I had the deluxe pedicure. It was VERY relaxing and the people did a wonderful job. They were super nice and friendly. The atmosphere is SO nice. Very clean, pretty, relaxing and professional. Even the music they play is beautiful and relaxing! I will definitely be back.

One of the reasons I believe Solar Nail Spa in Tyler deserves a five star review is the level they go to to keep every foot bath clean. Each customer receives a new plastic liner in their foot bath so no bacteria is transmitted. Not mention the level of service is beyond any other nail spa I have experienced. When it comes to manicures they are the best. I have tried many places over the years and I can tell you that they take time and put much effort into making sure you have a perfect manicure. All of this is done for a very fare and reasonable price $$.

I was in town from Dallas visiting but desperately needed a manicure and pedi. They got me right in despite being a walk in. The ladies did an excellent job on my feet and my manicure came out nice as well. Would definitely go back.

I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and went to this business for a pedicure. This is the worse pedi I have ever received. My toe Nails are filed crooked, dead skin around the nails was not removed, polish on almost all of the cuticles. In the middle of packing I now have to stop and redo the work. I would never go to this place again.

This establishment used to be my favorite place to get a pedicure. I have been going there for approx. 15 years. Since they got new owners, the visits have become appalling and dreadful. I gave it one last chance, but I will never go back. The service is horrible, and the employees are rude. I had to ask for something to drink, and when asked for a second, I never received it. The business used to be so clean and inviting and busy, and now, it is just depressing and slow . If you go with a friend, you cant both get a pedicure at the same time, because they do not have enough staff. This has happened twice to my best friend and myself. One of us got a pedicure and then had to wait for the other to get hers. I never write reviews, but in this case, I feel like I need to because the service was horrid!

Please value the time of your customers. Its unfair and unprofessional to let walk ins just sit and have other walk-ins come right in and begin to get services rendered ahead of waiting customers... First come first serve right.. Although you do good work and the staff are nice your compnay will never get another penny from me because of how you made me feel as a customer today.

I really like Solar Nail Spa. Three times ago I was there. I have a nail The first two times I have Sam, who is very patient in your manicure and knows what shes doing, very kind. I have never received professional acrylic before and I finished them at another salon where they left dry acrylic pieces under their nails. I came to this salon after about a week of having them and wanted them to go but Sam saved my nails from damage and told me how to take care of them. she shortened the length and gave me a new polish and the second time i saw her i went to refill and repair the chipped nail and you cant tell it is broken. My third time was by a man with careful eyes and gentle hands and the end result was this wonderful cat eyeshadow. I will always come here, it is difficult to find a suitable manicurist. Ask Sam:

Went in yesterday and was greeted by a nice man. I let him know what types of nails I wanted and we went from there. He showed me pictures of some previous nails styles they’ve done; the staff was great. This place had one of the best customer service I’ve ever had at a nail salon. The nail tech did a GREAT job on my nails. He toke his time to perfect them which was great because I was in no rush. I was offered drinks while waiting for the nail tech. And once I went to pay the cashier man said I could use the $4 off coupon on their website and all I had to show him was the coupon on my phone! Got a full set dipped for $46 which is great pricing for their great service. I have no complaints everything was well organized and staff was very respectful and professional. I’m not from the Tyler area but once I move here for school, I will for sure be a regular! Wait time also was not long (: thank you guys, my nails looked perfect for my birthday

I went here for the first time. I usually get regular acrylic nails but decided to try solar this time. The guy at the front desk was amazing and very helpful. Now the guy that did my nails was horrible. My nails are ok for the most part after one of the ladies fixed it for me before I left. The guy that did them never spoke. I even asked him a question and never got an answer. While he was putting the primer on he was not even hitting the nail because he was playing on his phone in the drawer so he wasn’t even looking. He hurt me one time with the drill. When I put my hand in the nail dryer he never even said how long. He continued playing on his phone so I was clueless. When I left and got into the light I had to go back in because one of my fingers didn’t have power stuff on the side of the nail. The lady just filed it and sent me on my way. When I got home I noticed another one that was missing some in the side. I’m not driving 30 minutes to have that one fixed also. I was looking for a place that I can go to many times again but I’m not sure this is the one for me.

Next time you plan to close your business please post it on your website instead of a tacky hand written note on your doorIt would of saved me my time. You lost my business. I also had a scheduled appointment with you. No phone call to me to advise me you were closed. Poor business practices

I am always sceptical about going to a nail salon other than my regular one at home. Ive had a lot of bad experiences elsewhere. But I was in desperate need of a manicure. This place went above all my expectations, even better than my regular spot! The staff was very nice, and did a wonderful job on my nails. The salon was very clean and organized. I dont have anything negative to say.

Never had a problem with this place till now.I came in 8/29/17 and there was only 2 people to come in the whole time I was there. The lady doing my pedi managed to cut 3 of my toes and made them bleed. Rushed through the whole pedicure! Didnt do l 1/2 the stuff that the menu said i would get then I asked for a design on my big toe. It came out looking like a big black blob so I told her I didnt like it and to take it off. She had an attitude the whole time taking it off! Squeezing my toe and hurting it to the point I had to say something. When I went to sit under the light I went to feel my heels..They were still rough in some places. Im not satisfied what so ever with my pedicure at Solar Nail Spa!! Will be looking for another place to go!!

While using the buffer, Sam slipped then blamed it on me moving my finger. Thats like if I told one of my clients stop whining and get over it. Very rude...I wont be back.

I went in and got a pedicure and requested the milk and honey which is a $40 pedicure. When I went to pay for the service they charged me for the pearl which is a $65 pedicure and had also charged me an additional $5 to remove the shellac from my toenails. I had gotten a fill there the week prior and had shellac on my nails and there was no additional charge to remove the polish. So I get up there to pay expecting to pay $30 less than I was charged and told the owner that I asked for the milk and honey and there was no concession made whatsoever. Her comment was I can smell the pearl pedicure....REALLY? I was so blindsided and flustered I didnt think to pull up the online 10% off for a $65 service or more......this should have at least been offered since I got charged for a service I did not request. I have spent thousands of dollars here over the past few years and will not go back. BAD BUSINESS!! That was a total misunderstanding on their part...not mine.

I will NEVER go back to this nail salon EVER AGAIN!!!! The new owners and the workers are very rude an very unprofessional. The whole time the lady that done my nails was very rude an cut my finger not once but twice an when I told her she was being very rough an cut my finger she told me she wasnt being rough an for me to stop moven my hand. My nails was uneven an had air bubbles. Got ready to pay the price they told me was way more than they originally had told me b4 I got my nails done an when I had told them that they started arguing with me an was over talkn me. This place does NOT even deserve one star. Pricing is outragous. Who charges $30 for a full set and then a extra $20 for the gel polish? The quality of the polish isn’t even worth $5. Let’s NOT forget to mention they drop supplies on the ground, pick it up and proceed to using it on you without proper sanitation. Prices are not listed anywhere. I will NEVER go here again.

I told them what I wanted but they insisted I get something else saying it would last longer. All they did was put a little white polish on my nails an charged me $60 for it. Then my nails started to chip after 3 days. An in the whole store only 2 employees spoke English it was very frustrating, I will not ever go back there again.

I went in for acrylic nails and a pedi. My acrylic nails where crooked and she cut me once . A man did my pedi, all nails he trim back was crooked, and he cut 3 of my toes pretty deep. I wont be going back.
