I lived here for about 5 years. It was great from move in to move out. Everyone at the office was always friendly and helpful. The upgrades they made to the units look great. I got the new counters, kitchen sink, and faucets. I couldn’t get the plank floors while I was living there. I loved the location, as well. It’s close to multiple grocery stores, down the road from the mall, and never seemed noisy. If I were to rent in Tyler again this is where I would go without a doubt.
Apartments are nice and offer a peace of mind but upstairs neighbors are extremely loud and nothing really gets done about it so if you can take a lot of noise these are the apartments you
We are currently on our 3rd lease here @ The Madison of Tyler Apartment Homes. I still Love it here for the most part. There have been minor hiccups here and there but I just send a detailed Email or Call the office & talk to Julie or Cayla (Management) in the office and they usually get on helping me right away!Unless, these Apartment Homes become an UNSAFE place to stay, we dont plan to move anywhere in the near future.
Does anybody know what the entry code (PIN) is?I often have to wait outside the gate, whenever i don’t want to ring my partner’s mom’s cell phone; for someone else to come in or exit the complex. If someone could tell me an entry code, that would be great.
This complex has great amenities with a convenient location if you want to do things in town. If you do not want to go out in your free time you can hang out at the pool/hot tub or play games such as horseshoes or tennis by the BBQ grill area (which is nice for a weekend BBQ with friends and family). It is nice that they have a clubhouse/game room so you have things to do when you have company over. The covered playground is a plus for kids because it gives them something to do without having to go to town or spend money and they can always play the other games.Compared to other apartment complexes I have lived at this is by far one of the most welcoming from a community standpoint. There are always people running/walking around participating in an active lifestyle. The weight room is a bit small but it is super convenient if you do not want to spend the money to work out at a gym.Management is responsive and are always willing to help if you have any issues. They even send you notifications when rent is due and for things that affect the complex so you know what is going on. Sometimes they have food trucks, which is nice because some nights we do not feel like cooking.Overall a great apartment complex with a lot to offer.
Love my beautiful and spacious 3bdrm apartment! The complex is clean, quiet, and conveniently located. The staff both inside the office and out working on the property are kind, friendly and always willing to help....even when my little dog escaped they helped me find her. The couple times I have submitted a Maintenance request...it has been answered and repaired in less the 1 day. I have been so impressed with the team here.
Dreadful experience to say the least. My family and I moved into The madison (Apt. 1314) late august and discovered the apartment had roaches as well as other bugs. We knew we didnt bring them because we are clean and 95% of items had not been transported from California. The first couple of times seeing the roaches (which was our biggest concern) we thought maybe it was the result of the work of the exterminator. But we found out that wasnt the case. I would see them more and more. There actually was a where a roach started to crawl up my four year old daughter shoe but she was able to shake it off. After my wife and I prayed and discussed this matter, we thought it was best to just move. This decision was a difficult one. I had just spent a month packing and moving from the west coast. I was extremely tired from driving from California to Texas. I was also preparing to start a PhD program. Now we were faced with finding another apartments after a couple weeks of just moving into The Madison. The main reasons for deciding to move is because my wife my is pregnant and because of our four-year-old. We deemed the apartment very unsanitary & unsafe. However, we discovered that there wasnt much value placed on our safety and sanity. After sharing our experience and decision with office staff on 9/3/20 I was told by Vivian (the assistant manager) on 9/4/20 that Caela (the manager) would be getting into touch with me regarding move out details once she returned to the office on Tues 9/8. Unfortunately I never heard from Caela within the time window i was given. She finally reached out the week of 9/14 during which I was unavaible do to attending my Phd seminar out of town.To wrap things up, we are still awaiting the fate of our decision to move.Honestly I dont think much grace will be shown even despite the condition of our apartment. Businesses are businesses and perhap this is a good reminder not to expect the shame ethical standards, grace that you will give. However, I will do what I can to give the public the most accurate depiction (based on my experience) of The Madison.I have a few pictures where I captured roaches to post laterHey guys, sorry for the delayed response regarding the pics. Havent been on here in a while. But the pics that i was able to capture should be uploaded now. Please let me know if you have any question. Would be glad to answer. And btw, regarding the owners reply, its all optics. Ive reached out to the office numerous times. I can upload call records to show. Also, weve paid about 3,000 to close our account. So we probable wont hear from the madison anymore.Blessings,James
Clean, well maintained and a safe place to live. Staff is always friendly.Occasionally youll find dog poop, but thats on the lazy owners that dont pick up after their pets. But its not as bad as some people on here claim. I have NEVER seen anyone hang clothing on a balcony, so Im not sure where that person lived, but it wasnt here.Maintenance staff are quick to get things done. Fortunately we have only had to put in one maintenance request since moving in 2 years ago.People driving in through the exit gate is also an issue. People dont stop and think that young children walking to the pool or playground and other drivers cant see them, and the idiots doing this cant see them or other vehicles until its to late. They need to put in a spike strip to stop this before something serious happens.Centrally located to everything!!! A little pricier than other places, BUT they are also much larger in square footage than most and all of the bedrooms and closets are large. So if you need a little more extra space, its definitely worth it.
Hi Mr. Taylor, I hate you had that experience. I was actually considering looking at The Madisons. Will you post the pics of the bugs?
If you are ok with inconsistently having running water or you like camping than this place is for you. Every month the water is randomly shut off for 12+ hours at a time for 2-3 days. The property management does not care if you have to shower and brush your teeth to go to work or if you have kids that need to bathe after school. They will tell you to warm water up on the stove and fill the bath tub and use water bottles to flush the toilets.I asked the management to provide documentation that the plumbing is up to code and the plumbers are coming out to actually fix the problem and not just put a band aid on it but they refused. If you move into this complex you have no way of knowing if your unit or the property is meeting appropriate city standards.
My family and I use to live here and I enjoyed the time we spent. The staff were always warm and willing to help. The manager did everything to make us feel important to the Madison Family. The property was always clean which is amazing considering how many people owned dogs. The grass was always maintained and trash was never anyway insight. They were great about notifying us when changes were being made or apartment inspections. Maintenance was great, super fast and efficient if anything broke. The pool stayed clean as well as the social areas including game room, children’s play area and picnic area. The apartment amenities were always nice and clean as well such as the gym, computer area and the tanning room they have. I have never been disappointed with this property at all. I give 10/10 and would recommend anyone to stay here.
I lived here for a year and would never recommend them to anyone! All they care about is your money and will charge you and outrageous amount for everything. The lack of communication skills is awful unless they want your money and if you need something during the day do not even try to call because there’s never anyone to pick up the phone. We had multiple maintenance issues that should never be an issue for such “updated” and “well kept” apartments. I would take your money elsewhere and find somewhere cheaper with better customer service.
I lived at the Madison for two years and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Both Vivian and Kaela were extremely helpful, and were quick to resolve any issues. The management here is top notch, and so are the quality of the apartments. If it weren’t for my job relocating me, I may have stayed there forever!
I was considering moving here after relocating to Tyler but I had visited with a friend of mine and I changed my mind because it has a infestation problem with roaches.
The staff at Madison have been very helpful anytime I have a concern, which isnt often. They are professional yet genuine in concern for my happiness! I was surprised to learn the property is upgrading some of their facilities in 2017, because it is such a nice place. I definitely recommend this apartment community to anyone wanting to call a place, home!
The Madison is a great place to live and I am loving the new upgrades of the property. I have to commend Caela and the staff for doing an excellent job on handling things in a timely manner for us among all else that is going on! I would definitely recommend this place to live!
I live here for 10 months now while my house was getting built great place to live very nice apartments staff always willing and ready too help if needed😁 recommend if your looking for apartment this place should be your 1 st choice
Great community love the pool and they are upgrading it to make it even nicer! Office staff is always sweet and helpful. Very pleased to call the Madison my home
I have been a long term resident here in and I absolutely love Caela the property manager. She always has been nothing but professional and courtesy when it comes to service. They are pet friendly and offer an array of amenities. Thank you for making my extended stay a welcome experience.
I love living here....its extremely quiet, clean, and has great amenities. Your close to an abundance of restaurants and shopping.. Ask for April shes amazing!
I have lived here since June 2010, and would highly recommend The Madison to anyone looking for a great place to live.I have never had a problem with the staff or maintenance here. They are all great pepole. They have always been very helpful to me. I have very good neighbors. My building is very quiet.I have been extremely happy with my choice of moving here. If I have an maintenance issue it is taken care of immediately. All the staff are very friendly. Of course I some of my favorites, but that is every where.I really love The Madison.
We rented for a month. After 2 weeks of moving in the master bathroom had green and black molds coming through the walls and base boards. We told the management and they sprayed bleach and pull off the molding then told us not to use it for 2 weeks Or usually residents just fix it themselves... so after a week the entire building across from us had mold in every apartment and had to completely redo the kitchens. We told them we dont want to be in our apartment and gave them a 30 day notice, they then replied by saying they would charge us for the year we leased then the apartment manager ran out the door and didnt return for 3 days. When confronted on a possible solution everybody could be happy with they said they would get back to us...6 months of no returned phone calls and the manager dipping out for 4 hour lunches while we waited in the lobby we suddenly have a $4600 debt on our credit. We called the apartments again and now theyre saying we should have worked with them,on a deal.I almost failed to,mention the heat not always working or a.c. blowing out hot air. It took then up to 5 days sometimes to,come out,if I didnt go track them down on the property.I wouldnt recommend this apartment complex to anyone. Experiences may vary.
Excellent staff! Love the work they do! Very helpful, they care a ton about their residents
The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about every aspect of the apartment community. They have explained any and everything that I have ever had a question about. Great staff and a very well maintained apartment community!
There nice apartments Ive been enjoying my stay there.
Nice apts and the staff is always friendly. My wife and I lived at the Madison of tyler for about a year and we never had any real issues. When anything came up the staff was quick to do what they could to make it right. They are currently updating all of the apts and are always improving the overall facility.I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are looking for an apt.
My cousin and I are roomies here and we absolutely LOVE it! The apartments are nice and the staff is awesome and extremely helpful!
Very helpful and friendly staff. The property is great centric with a great pool and beautiful.
I have lived here for almost a month now and the staff and complex has exceeded my expectations! The complex has great amenities, a great pool area, & above and beyond maintenance and office staff. They always make sure you are taken care of.
My fiancé and I lived at the Madison a little over 2.5 years. We enjoyed staying there, and truly only moved because we are in the process of buying a house. We did have one misunderstanding with the staff, but the manager reached out to me personally and made a point to hear me out. She was very professional and let me rant, and patiently waited before saying anything. She then explained her point of view and some of the reasons things happened the way they did. She was never condescending or rude, but graceful and kind as she made a point to see my point of view. She then proceeded to waive a fee she absolutely didn’t have to waive, but she insisted on waiving it to make sure we knew their intent was to make things right (even though it was technically our fault). I have leased apartments at another apartment complex that is a close competitor to The Madison and I am here to tell you not all managers would’ve handled things that way. I have constantly suggested The Madison to many of my family, close friends, and even acquaintances. At first glance it seems a little steep in price but when you get down to it, it’s really not. I have done tons of research on apartments in Tyler, and personally talked to several friends who have leased at other apartments. The ammenities as well as the free cable and internet save you so much money. We were able to stay in the one bedroom apartment and use the office as a second room for our daughter when she was born. When we researched it was still cheaper to live at The Madison over just about any other decent apartment in Tyler. You will also save money on electricity because it is well insulated. We loved the pool in the summers, spending most of our days there. We used the grill often which was extremely nice, because we love to grill. When we weren’t at the pool we were at the children’s park which was conveniently located, it really is a great complex with many options for kids and adults. It’s dog friendly and we personally rarely had issues with poop. But even so when we did we chalked it up to lazy dog owners, and not bad management. We were sad to leave the madison over all because it’s so centrally located and it was a great apartment complex. I always got so many compliments from any guests we had over about how homey it felt and how awesome it was that there where so many windows to let natural light in. The parking is great you rarely have any issues finding somewhere to park and it’s honestly sooo sooo nice that guests can park anywhere and you don’t have to have them park in the very back of the complex and walk to your apartment. Neighbors are all very nice and I never once felt unsafe, I walked around at night many times by myself and always felt secure. The gym is great I used it several times and was able to get a sufficient workout in, I will definitely miss that. Over all it is a great complex and the staff is very personable and kind. I hope you will truly consider moving here and really do your research because it is well worth the money you’ll save in the long run living here. You won’t regret it!
Wow! Service and caring are above and beyond! Management and maintenance teams have taken care of everything! upgrades are fantastic!!
Great place to live! Awesome management and wonderful people!
My experience with The Madison was not very good. The location is very nice; as is the fact that the internet and cable is included into the rent. Its a very nice and clean complex. However, upon moving in, my carpet wreaked of dog urine. When walking barefoot, a sticky black substance would accumulate on the bottom of my feet. When I would shower, the substance would get in the bathtub, and it had to be scrubbed off. There was also one part of the carpet that has no padding underneath. It was the size of a coke can, and even some parts of the carpet felt a little damp after storms. The office brought in professional cleaners to clean the carpet, and while it was an improvement, it was still smelly and nasty. Not once did they offer to replace the carpet.Next, maintenance had to do replace some wiring, and they used a motorized sander once they patched the wall. My ex and I spent most of us our cleaning the entire place from top to bottom, and the sander left flakes all over the bedroom. We had to rewash everything in the bedroom, and a lot of the residue even got into our flat screen TV and my brand new PS4. The complex offered to bring in professional cleaners to clean it, but due to this and the carpet issues, we declined. We were given a $250 credit, which would have not even replaced the TV or PS4.Next, first off, let me say that I understand that when you live in an apartment complex, you will no doubt, hear your upstairs neighbors from time to time. Thats fine, I get it. However, when the maintenance tells you that they have to replaced the floor upstairs, because they guy broke his floor, and could LITERALLY fall through at any time...something is wrong. I spoke with the office multiple times, and even called the courtesy officer. It was chalked up to normal living sounds or whatever. That couple moved in, and then 3 others rented the upstairs apartment. In between those tenants, the complex replaced the flooring. They pulled up the carpet, and applied hardwood flooring. What they did not do, is add extra padding. So, anytime the neighbors walk, you will definitely hear it. Everything was way louder. My hallway light fixture rattled when they would stomp through their apartment. I could hear them when they would pull their chair out in the dining area, walk, close doors, etc etc.. The office did nothing. I spoke with my new neighbor once, and even he told me that the office never contacted him with my concerns. So, on one particular day, when they were being extremely loud, I knocked on the ceiling with my broom. The next thing I know, I receive an email from the complex, and were informed that I was in violation of the lease. However, the office didnt know is that 3 people were living in that 1 bedroom, instead of 2, and that they were drying their clothes on the patio. Thats two violations right there, but F me, right? The office always told met to call them when the noise was occurring, so they could come over and listen. However, anytime I tried to get them to come over, either no one answered, or only one person was in the office and couldnt leave, OR it was after office hours. So, I recorded it on a digital sound recorder, and played it for Vivian. Her jaw dropped, and she couldnt say a word. She didnt have a response. I still have the recording, and I still have pictures of the carpet and pictures from the power sander mess.Again, good location, nice apartments, but the office doesnt care about you, only your money. Would I ever go back..? Eh, I really prefer the 1st floor, but if I ever went back, Id get a 3rd floor. Although, after they read my review, I doubt theyd ever allow me to live there again. haha.p.s. They also cancelled the trash pick up service, right after we moved in. Laaaame.
Great place to live. Pool, gym, game room, and friendly staff. Convenient location
This complex is an over priced joke. I transferred from a sister property out of state and I regret the decision daily! My lease cant end fast enough! The property is nasty! You cant walk in the grass for stepping on dog feces everywhere! Had to get extra shots for my dog to help prevent him from catching anything from the filth! The dog park is the worst!! Ive even had to call the office because of human size dog feces at the bottom of the stairs, I had to call about 4+ times before they would do something about it! Few months later kitty litter and feces all over the stairs.. this time they call me and tell me they didn’t see anything! I had to take pictures and email the filth to them!!! Dont complain about anything or else they will make your life a living hell.I contacted the manager even have it in writing permission to pay my rent TWO days late because I started a new job & my check didnt hit until Friday. Rent was even set up and drafted that day I promised to pay when she gave permission to allow me a one time courtesy! I still got a had written eviction letter threatening to take me to court!Next I get a rando email after a so called inspection which I watched via puppy cam, (it was a joke of an inspection if they were truly doing their job they would have seen the rust on the water sprinklers and where one sprinkler has the cover missing which was sitting on the desk for them to see!!!!) stating I would be charged for replacing sub floors and to ozone treat my apt because of dog odors... my dog had just peed because of anxiety he peed on his POTTY PAD! Which sits ontop of vinyl flooring I purchased it Lowes to protect the floor ! I also shampoo my carpets every 6 mos.... its a joke!! I looked there is no sub flooring the carpet was cheaply installed and done improperly!!Lol they are going to charge me for so called non existent sub flooring when they are just going to rip up the carpet and replace it with vinyl faux wood flooring per a mass email that was sent out..... Hilarious !!!You cant escape the harassment or filth of this place.... Ive spoke to a few other people, the same happened to them... Ill gladdly give my hard earned money to another property, they up your rent to pay for remodeling and then harass you and threaten you the remainder of your lease! No wonder the turn over is so high hereAnd after reading the reviews they try and save face with generic response to complaints... please save your energy, you have caused enough stress and frustration with your poorly managed property by allowing them to harass tenants who actually follow the guidelines, pay their bills and pick up after themselves. You allow trash to move in, trash the complex not to mention almost always comes close to causesing accidents from coming in the exit gate! I can’t tell you how many scratches, as well has how many times my brand new car has almost been hit from your hoolagan tenants you have allowed to move in! I should send you the bill to buff all the scratches out! Or wait you can call it even Steven after you keep all my deposits to replace the no existent sub floor and deal with the carpet you are going to rip out which was extremely nasty when I moved in, I even had to clean it twice moving after fist moving in because of the smell and filth...Save your sanity and money and don’t move here!
Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Thought the property was beautiful as well!!
Great front office staff, they are always ready to help and work with you.
WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Dog poop everywhere, laundry and rugs always hanging on balconies, always an arrest of some sort, family of 5 above me with kids up at all hours throwing toys and clothes on my balcony. Noise EXCESSIVE and despite MULTIPLE complaints to mgmt and corporate NOTHING DONE. In fact I was told I complained too much. My little dog was having DAILY panic attacks! And apparently they creep your fb page cause I was threatened about posting negatively about them! Pure GHETTO! Could not get out fast enough! I ignored these reviews and wish I hadnt. Beautiful apartment but was regretting the move within 2 mths. Should have stayed at Grande Hill Estates!!!
They look high brow upon 1st glance, but you notice many major flaws as you look around. Things like.the sink is separated from the counter and folks leave their dog poo all about the complex.
Great place to live and enjoy
Hot tub always broken.
EDITED to respond - Was previous resident for 1.5 years.
