Took my 95 year old mom and myself for a haircut...style and pede for mom...Cheryl was fun and a joy to be around. We were extremely pleased with her expertise as a stylist. Even though I live 1 hr 45 min away...it was definitely worth the travel time. We are both Super happy with the results. Plan on coming back!
I wished I had read the many many horrible reviews on Cheryl prior to going in.I went in simply asking for a semi permanent gloss. Cheryl did a terrible job with such an easy job. She seemed rushed, and I left with my crown being very dark compared to the dark blond Color I came in with. The middle and ends of my hair were different colors which leads me to believe she didnt fully saturate my long hair evenly. She did a poor job with the blow dry and curled only a few pieces, sending me on my way. After she finished, she told me I had to pay $20 extra for long hair. She then told me she would charge me another fee if I used my debit card. These two things should have been brought up prior to starting any process on my hair. I had made the appointment weeks in advance and we had text a few times, so she new I wanted a single process all over deposit only gloss. She charged me $86 and I left her a tip. Within one hour, I text her saying my hair color was very uneven and if she could fix it. I offered her four different dates. She argued and played backand forth games for a while which surprised me. I sent her three pics after she told me to wash it repeatedly. My top remained dark, while I had three different shades throughout the middle and ends. It looked absolutely horrible and I wanted her to fix it before I went back to work as I was so embarrassed. She offered me a partial refund so someone else could fix it because she said shes unavailable. She never Forwarded payment and Im now forced to go through BBB and small claims. Cheryl is very unprofessional and doesnt pride herself in quality work. Her salon is on Swan/Ft. Lowell at 3031 N Swan. Ive never dealt with someone so unprofessional and careless as Cheryl.
Scheduled an appointment with them, got a phone call from them saying that somebody had called out and asked if we could do our couples massage one at a time. Which I understand; however, it defeats the whole idea of a couples massage. So I asked if we could reschedule for Monday or Wednesday. They work Tuesday through Sunday, which is fine. I asked if I could have it done on Wednesday around 4 PM. The lady I was speaking to Continued to say time and days that didn’t work for me because I have to work. She then had the audacity to question why I was off one Thursday which was none of her business. So I told her go ahead and cancel it and she questioned me and said “and then what!?” very rudely. I don’t want to have any services done by somebody who is really rude like that, let alone touch me. Would not recommend this place to anybody. Being a massage place/ spa You’re better off going somewhere they treat you with respect and make it stress free and relaxing. Don’t waste your money and time.
This place is extremely unprofessional and petty. Its kind of comical how they attack people who leave 1 star reviews. I got my hair done back in March by Cheryl and was very disappointed. I have very dark brown hair and all she did was complain how it was too dark and thick. She also was eating and smacking her mouth.. it was super gross. She made coleslaw out of my Haircut, and left me under the heater for WAAAY to long. I actually left with a burned forehead. I wanted honey highlights and left with fried brassy neon yellow highlights. I wanted to cry. I attempted to FIX the train wreck she left for MONTHS. I finally got it somewhat presentable and by September, I went to a friends recommended salon and was SUPER HAPPY. FINALLY, a professional place where theyre professional, warm and kind. Its on 1st. Emilys salon. Monica does a phenomenal job. Save your money and steer clear of this horrible place and go to Emilys salon instead. Monica is wonderful.
I took my daughter here for her birthday. Cheryl the owner was our stylist and I tell you she was a joy to us. Not only does my daughter feel and look great, but we were treated very very well there.I am perplexed as to the reviews about how she treats clients, we will return for sure. Dont trust this place they jack up your hair and then charge you for it!!! Also the owner is loud, rude, and straight down dirty to her customers. Dont buy the Groupon neither because they are unprofessional and give Groupon a bad name and reputation!
DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They are beyond unprofessional. You call, and they text you instead of answering. They offer Groupons and then get angry for you using them, because they make mess money. Ive been dealing with them for years, and kept going back because of the price but this was THE FINAL STRAW. I attached messages to show just how unprofessional they are.
I booked a Groupon after much argument from the staff. When I got to my appointment they had double booked me but Cheryl did not realize it until after she redeemed my Groupon. She was very rude about the whole situation. Got into an argument with her because she would not give me her name. I would never use this place. So unprofessional and so rude.
My daughter purchased a Groupon for me for my birthday. Scheduling the appointment was not an easy task. My entire experience with this owner was awful! Leave a message and you get a text back saying they will call you to schedule the appointment. When I finally got the call back it was way past business hours. Very rude and short with you. I had an issue finding the voucher, so I called and asked if they would be able to locate on their end. She was very annoyed at the situation and said things like, its not that hard to find on your Groupon App and so on. She then stated she would give me the current Groupon Rate of $34 if I could not find my voucher. I then found the voucher and sent her a copy of it. She said because it is expired I would owe another $15 dollars. I called and spoke to her, asked her if she will still honor the voucher. She said yes. I advised her the voucher is for $40. She said okay, you still owe $15. I asked her how she came up with that math. She then raises her voice at me and is YELLING at me. Because some people only pay $23 and other pay more so we just pick this amount and thats what we got with. I asked her again, if my voucher is for $40, and yesterday she told me she would charge me $34, then I should be good. She keeps yelling and says then pay nothing! I asked her if she yells at all her customers like this and that I would be leaving a review and she hung up on my. Moral of the story. I will not support a business that yells at their customers! I will go elsewhere! Very Rude owner!

Bought a Groupon in February and was scheduled for a couples massage today. Cheryl scheduled my appointment and found her to be very rude when calling me, but hey I already purchased the service. I get a text message from Cheryl 2 hours before our appointment canceling on us. I ask her to call me and she acts like nothing is wrong and her only solution was dont purchase through Groupon and instead just make purchases through the business. So if your looking for couples massage, dont rely on these people. They have no back up in the event that someone is sick, gets hurt, etc. Not to mention they did not once offer to reschedule AT ALL. Horrible way to run a business!!

Lynda walker is amazing! Unfortunately the salon owner refuses to wear a mask despite complaints to the health department, she sites the 6 foot rule of distance allows her to skip the mask. The law requires employers to mask up but clients may remove their mask for a face or hair service. I am sad to miss Lynda. Maybe she will move to a salon that cares about the health and wellbeing of everyone.

Cheryl the owner has done my hair for 27 + years and highlights and cuts it perfect. Going from dark brown to beautiful highlights. She is so warm and bubbly to all the people that come in. It’s like a family. She also does amazing nails. I’d recommend her salon to all my friends. If someone isn’t happy she goes up and beyond to make a customer satisfied. I give her a 5 star for sure!!!

The owner of this salon is as unprofessional as they come. A couple of weeks ago, I went with my friend while she got her hair done. She missed a bunch of places on my friends hair. When my friend contacted her about the situation, she told my friend, she didnt see any problems. They were all over! My friend sent her pictures of the areas missing color, it was incredibly noticeable. She even sent a video. She suggested my friend just wash her hair! She then told my friend that she couldnt fix her hair for a while, understandably my friend asked for a refund. The woman refused and has blocked her from social media. This is not how you run a salon. If you mess up, and it happens, you make things right. Never forget, the client is a walking advertisement for the quality, or lack of quality in this case and word of mouth is powerful. My friend went to the Maple Leaf Hair Co. And they were amazing! They fixed her hair beautifully! They were so incredible that I went to them as well!
Oh my goodness, I just got the best haircut of my life. Cheryl is so talented. I have natural curly hair, a cowlick, and an odd growth pattern by my cowlick. In other words, my hair is not easy to cut—AT ALL. She listened to my needs and discussed what she felt would work best for my hair, and it looks amazing. I’m never going anywhere else. Ordered a Groupon for a massage, but when I went to make the appointment, the lady on the phone was incredibly rude. Hung up on me twice. Once when I mentioned the Groupon, “I can’t with this right now” and then again after I said I wasn’t comfortable with a male masseuse/waiting over a month for a chance at getting a female.
I really loved my experience at DesignLines. I went in with a coupon for a new hairstyle and highlights and really enjoyed the experience. My stylist, Cheryl, was very outgoing and offered suggestions and advice, putting me at ease. I dont often get beauty services but have been feeling lately like I need to update a few things about myself, my hair being one (midlife crisis, perhaps). I went in with thick, long and brownish hair and came out with layers, waves and highlights that popped. Most of the time, I go to Great Clips for a trim or an A-line (depending on how adventurous I am at the time), but in the future, Ill go back to DesignLines. Thank you for the experience and the fun conversation. Ill recommend this salon to anyone who asks.
Absolutely love Cheryl. She had been doing my hair for a couple years now and she always does a great job. I have her do everything from low lights, highlights, and all sorts of different cuts. She even does my boys hair too. I absolutely recommend Designlines and Cheryl to anyone wanting a really good stylist.

I will ONLY get my hair done at Design lines.I have been with Lynda Walker for over 10 years and she is the Best. I will tell anyone and everyone who will listen to get their hair, nails done and get a massage. Be prepared to be put asleep by the massage, they are extremely good at what they do.
I’ve been going to Cheryl for 3 yrs. I found the salon thru Groupon and she told me when I presented the coupon to her to never use Groupon again but she’d honor their $ 82.50 price for high lites, cut, color, style. So the next time I went she charged me $92.50 claiming she had to add toner (which she never disclosed) no big deal, I paid it and again left a $25.00 tip. I never have her blow dry it or style it because I like to do it myself. I’m in and out within an hour. So the other day (8/12) I arrived at 2:30 and I told her right away I wanted my hilites to be super light, like platinum, she asked why and I said I just want a different look. It was taking her longer than usual but I just figured it was because she wasn’t rushing like she usually does because she’s got someone waiting. She left me under the dryer for a while then came and checked under the foils and re-applied more mixture. Obviously it was not lightning up enough, prob didn’t use the correct lightner. Another 15 min under dryer. When she finally took out the fouls and rinsed and combed it out I gasped upon looking at my hair. It was so brassy. There were no visible highlights. I immediately commented on how I didn’t think it looked highlighted at all. I could only see brassy and brown roots. She tried to say it was the fluorescent lights above and when it dries it’ll look different. Then she put something in it, kept rubbing it in for like 10 minutes. Rinsed again. Still looked bad. She tried to divert my attention by talking about my eyebrows and how she could make them look better with a lighter pencil ( which she did). She knew she messed up and was trying to make up for it by doing this I guess. So when it’s time to pay she tells me it’s $135.00!!! I was floored. Said something about three color process. I told her she didn’t mention that to me if she was going to do it. I had no idea. I wouldn’t have authorized it because I didn’t budget for it. I paid the $135.00 but didn’t have enough for a tip. I text her the next day, showed her pictures and expressed my unhappiness. I then asked if she would fix the color and actually put highlights in and she says she could “add extra highlights ”. but it’d cost $40. I politely text back and asked her to be honorable and do the right thing since I’ve been a loyal customer who has always tipped her well. Nope, she then said she couldn’t do anything right away because she’s going out of town for four days. Unbelievable.! She knew I have plans to go to FL on Tuesday, how convenient that she’s all of the sudden leaving town. I’m honestly very hurt by her behavior. Now she’s blocked me so I can’t even talk or text with her . I’ve contacted KGUN9 on your side and given them all the information and they’ve promised to help when I return from FL in three weeks. It’s a shame though, if she’d only done the right thing I wouldn’t have had to do this. I’m going to try and post pics if it’ll let me. I’m posting this so no one else gets swindled by her. I know times are tough and businesses are struggling but to sneak in an additional charge without consulting customer is so wrong. I wouldn’t have cared actually had the color looked ok. It’s so dark on the top, no hilights, just brassy at the roots and slightly lighter toward the ends. The back underneath is red on one side, platinum on the other.
My daughter and I went in yesterday, I was getting highlights and cut and my daughter was getting a haircut. Cheryl did an awesome job. I havent gone to get my haircut in years because someone messed it up so bad before that I was afraid of getting it cut again. Cheryl did a great job and now I have a hairstylist I can trust to do my hair again 🥰 I found out about this place from Groupon but I didnt purchase the Groupon, I listened to other reviewers and just called and asked if they would honor the Groupon price directly, which they were happy to do. Im glad I did that because apparently Groupon only pays vendors just over 40%, and this place definitely deserves the full amount and more. Thanks Cheryl we will see you again soon.
The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. The decor is eclectic reflecting no one particular style. The facilities are clean. The stylists are friendly. Stylist, Lynda Walker, has always given her best in artistry with a personal touch as she has provided her services in caring for my hair. I love the results. I will continue to go to Lynda Walker at Design Lines for my hair styling needs.

Went to get my hair cut by Cheryl. My first cut in over 15 years, stopped cutting my hair after too many bad experiences. I might be cured! Also had an amazing massage by Cindy. I would definitely recommend.Cindy and Cheryl really made my day. The other employees that were there, seemed really friendly as well. A really comfortable environment.

My daughter and I received a birthday gift certificate so we went for spa pedicures and she also go a manicure. They didnt have a great selection of colors and were a bit short handed, however our nail tech was very nice, he had another lady assist with the massage,we really liked her as as well. Everyone that we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. Not a fancy place but we enjoyed it and will go again.

Dont waste your money. The massage therapists talked the entire time. They bombarded me with questions during the entire massage. While I was annoyed that they were talking to us I was also very upset about the conversations they had with us. One said to my husband I guess you never thought youd be naked in a room with 3 other women. Totally uncalled for and unprofessional. I will never recommend designlines for a massage.
I went to Cheryl once to get highlights and a cut and was pleased. Unfortunately I decided to go again. I got my hair dyed red with a simple trim. After going home, my 10 year old daughter pointed out the entire backside of my hair (which the stylist should see!) was spotted and striped. I immediately messaged Cheryl with pictures AND video and asked when I could come back to get it fixed and she told me to wait a week and a couple washes! What in the world would that do to fix it?! Being nice, I understand everyone makes mistakes and waited it out until the following Friday like she asked. I couldnt wear my hair down the entire week out of embarrassment. On Friday I text her and asked when I could come in and she said she wasnt working that weekend and Id have to wait until Tuesday...a week and a half after the initial service. I ended deciding I couldnt wait that long or trust her as I was heading to Hawaii on vacation within days, so I asked her politely to please just refund my money. She got defensive and said she never saw any mistakes and she doesnt think there are any. even though the pictures we VERY clear and awful. When I told her someone else fixed it for me, she told me they ripped me off and she could have fixed it for free....if only I wanted to wait god knows how long. I repeatedly asked her to just send me a refund, and now I see she blocked me! Horrible horrible customer service. DO NOT USE THEIR GROUPON. She will encourage you to buy directly through her with cash and then mess your hair up and then you cant refund through groupon.

The owner dyed my friends hair and she didnt complete the job. My friend was left with bleach blotches all over the back of her head and the owner told her to wash it a few times and if it doesnt fix its self come back that is a sad poor response, the color of the dye wont run over the bleach spots and fix her hair! My friend said it wont fix its self can i come back and you fix it or give me my money back she said no blocked her on facebook and on her personal phone. So unprofessional 10/10 DONT recommend❗❗❗

Be aware this company doesn’t have friendly customer service and they are ripping Grouponers Off!! After purchasing a Groupon for a couples massage for my wife and I they tried to get us to renegotiate so that we spend money with them and not with Groupon. The woman said they wanted to do that so they make more of a profit this is illegal and fraudulent and I would not want to support a company that does not follow the rules❗️❗️❗️ Overall the staff that I engaged in conversation with was incompetent with what they were doing and how they were operating.

Got a massage from Megan, and she rocks! Seriously, she knows what shes doing and I recommend her work to anyone. Very professional and also was able to relieve tension on a lot of the muscle knots that has been bringing me discomfort.
I left wishing I had spent the money at another salon. I got a microdermabrasion with a chemical peel. I gave this salon the benifit of the doubt from the second I walked in. The place is dated and a bit dirty downstairs, there were rhinestone purses and belts everywhere for sale. Then my tech (who had dirty clothes on, messy hair and smelled of cigarettes) took me upstairs. The upstairs was worse, dirty old furniture, stains on the ceilings and walls. Then, the room I was in was lit with fluorescent lights, dirty equipment and dirty towels. Her technique was weak and fast and her hands smelled like cigarettes. Not to mention she rambled on and on about everything mindlessly. Ill never go back. I gave them a full shot. They blew it....

This woman was very unprofessional and started randomly texting me from a phone number not listed on their website. Initially, I wanted to purchase a massage package through groupon. This was going to be a surprise gift for my husbands bday. However, she was adamant that I do not purchase it through groupon and she would do a payment over the phone. I requested a receipt as I was nervous of just giving someone my card info. She said she would send it to me. She never ended up sending me one. Then, when I asked to confirm the appointment for the 2nd or 3rd time, she could not recall the date and time. The following day, I received another text from her me asking for gratuity before the service was even rendered. I finally called her back and requested the appt be canceled and that I get my refund. She ended hanging up the phone on me.
Don’t waste your time on massages. Spend a little extra money and get a masseuse who knows what they’re doing.

I came in for a hair color appointment. I was very disappointed with the service. The lady was nice, but she cant do blonde hair. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did a terrible job. I think she knew but she didnt say anything to try to fix it. She was the only stylist there and at that point I wasnt going to trust her to fix it for me so I left to try to find someone else to clean up her mess. Never recommending or going back.

I came across Designlines while passing thru Tucson on vacation. Upon walking into the salon Megan greeted me with a friendly smile. She was pleasant and able to book me into her schedule for a swedish massage on a Saturday. Listening to tropical music, the soft lightning from the himalayan salt lamp with the raspberry aroma candle relaxed me. Megans intuitive was gentle yet gave the perfect pressure to the areas I needed. The atmosphere of customer service, professionalism, and not feeling judged truly will have me a loyal client of Megans. Oh, Ive already told my friends about Megan.

This place looks sketchy inside and outside: massage room is the only open door of 3 in a darkly lit, messy upstairs hallway). Cindy talked the entire 60 minutes. No relaxing music in the background, just an entire hour of being bombarded by questions about my personal life. Heres the real kicker: in last 10 min she was rubbing my neck, she said she was afraid SHE WAS GOING TO KNOCK ME UNCONSCIOUS!!! Repeatedly (I stopped counting by the third time she said it and just hoped time went by faster because I was scared that if I asked to leave, she would actually knock me out)!!! When I told Groupon what happened, they said I shouldve called the police. Please do not go here if you are looking for a professional massage.

The low prices are not worth the lack of customer service and professionalism. The exterior looks a little shady, but Ive gotten great service in several Tucson businesses that maybe didnt have curb appeal, so I tried to look past that. I bought a Groupon for a cut and deep condition. I arrived promptly for my appointment and had to wait about 15 minutes before the owner got to me, which I didnt really mind. Several of the employees were not well presented, many of them were wearing sweatpants; no, I am not joking or exaggerating. I get that Tucson is the ultimate in business casual, but sweatpants? There was a lot of hustle and bustle as they were offering some sort of couples massage event with a sweethearts buffet of food.The owner washed my hair, left me sitting at the sink with shampoo in for several minutes and then brought me back to her chair and starting cutting without the deep condition that was included in my Groupon. I thought maybe it was a leave-in product or something, but no, my hair never got any type of conditioner. The owner really didnt talk much to me as she was giving other employees orders to get the couples event set up. When a male client walked in who seemed to be a friend of hers, she asked if I was single, because shed been trying to hook him up forever. The man mustve been 20 years older than me; regardless of his age or appearance, I found that super inappropriate. The owner was apparently too busy to style my hair (which cost extra), so she passed me off to another stylist to blow dry and style it. It was super snarly and dry because it wasnt conditioned. Both stylists did an okay job, but it was clear I was not a priority but an inconvenience to their busy day. Neither really asked my opinion on what I wanted, other than a general length assessment, but kind of did their own thing, which didnt bother me much, because Im not really peculiar about my hair. I do know some people are though. Some of my layers are uneven though; its not super noticeable, but I had to even it out when I got home. Also, the owner kept trying to upsell services the entire time, trying to get me to do foil highlights and a brow wax.I also got a hot herbal pedicure with Laura. She did a good job and was pleasant, but they had scheduled her appointments too close together and I had to wait a while before she got to me. I didnt get the hot towels that were supposed to be included and Im not really sure what was herbal about it, but for $30, I didnt really care. The setup isnt very pleasant. The nail area is a sort of living room in a guest house so several people were waiting there and walking through and chatting, which isnt super relaxing, and youre kind of on display. One of the massage therapists (also donning sweatpants) was voicing her complaints about another client to some employees and swearing. Ive been in the service industry. I understand some people can be difficult, but theres no reason to complain about your b**** customer, who you dont give a f*** about in front of other clients and your employer. It was unreal.They advertise their stimulus menu, which is half-price on most services. In my opinion, saving a few bucks is not worth a visit to A Day N Nite Salon and Spa. Apparently, others feel differently, because this place has been open for quite some time. If youre looking for a bargain, youre better off going to Cost Cutters or a Vietnamese nail salon in a strip mall.
I had a great experience here in Virtue Salon and Spa. The service is great and the crew gave me what treatment I wanted.
